Couple things... the only good Black Widow is a dead Black Widow. They have ruined a few peoples' lives. Second, (going into OhShoot mode for a second), they're not insects. :)5 points

I'm just saying it's happened numerous times in the past and I dread it every time it does. I think that customers should be savvy and know when a business provides less than acceptable customer service, so don't get me wrong here. I'm just saying these threads almost always result in some junior lawyer wannabe sending me an email telling me they're going to sue me or TGO because of what someone else posted on this site about their business. Libel, slander, etc. None of which is even remotely applicable because people are allowed to have opinions and are allowed to share them like this, but it never stops the guy who thinks his childhood spent watching The People's Court from thinking that makes him a lawyer and sending stupid emails. Sorry to vent. Just a glimpse inside my world I suppose. :)5 points

I'm pretty sure if my wife ever found a black widow in the home she'd burn the whole place down for good measure.3 points

I have no reason to lock or delete this thread whether they complain or not. Like I said, people are allowed by law to voice their opinion of people, businesses, etc. It just never fails that someone who doesn't understand the legal definition of libel or slander will always scream about them being libeled or slandered and try to bully a reaction out of me. I don't have the patience required to be a lawyer. My first impulse when people are being asshats it to reach out and slap the piss out of them. Lawyers are a little more tactful.3 points

Most people would be wrong then. That isn't how contracts work. It takes a lot of time. I don't see how that would be a "pay off" any how. For what? What favorable action did Remington take towards a State government other than not moving? The contract wasn't even with the STATE government, it was with SOCOM. You think there are many people there that are sympathetic to NY and their oppressive gun laws? The correct answer is no, by the way.2 points

Not that I always agree with Hamilton, (or even usually), but even he gets it to a major degree, Federalist #33 para. #5: “If the federal government should overpass the just bounds of its authority and make a tyrannical use of its powers, the people, whose creature it is, must appeal to the standard [the Constitution] they have formed, and take such measures to redress the injury done to the Constitution as the exigency may suggest and prudence justify.†[emphasis mine] Remember in the 10th Amendment: The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people. The People, still have a place, and a responsibility in our governance, if they would just get off their arses and exercise it.2 points

In my mind there's not a lot of difference between this and the governments in Tunisia, Egypt and Libya shutting down Twitter and social networking before their respective uprisings. A government can't outlaw thought, but it can try to muzzle individual voices. There's no military hardware here; this is not something that ITAR ought to apply to. This is a First Amendment issue more than a Second Amendment issue. Someone's just using a piece of plastic shaped like a gun as a megaphone.2 points

Good for Remington! As I posted in the other thread; I support Remington 100%. We are allies in this fight. To think a manufacturing facility that big can just up and move is ridiculous. However, they are building in other states. They may be in NY, but at least they are in the U.S. Once the U.S. companies are gone; imports can be banned with the stoke of a pen.2 points

They can't undo what has been done. Once something is on the internet it is there forever. Personally I see nothing wrong with what they are doing. And I bet that it will stand up to freedom of speech muster. If they are going to limit their ability to release this information then it will be a huge blow to everyone. Imagine if all the other reference materails were pulled off the net. I know they can't but it is easy to limit what someone has access to. IMHO it is not a ITAR issue. It is a freedom of speech issue.2 points

I think I will stick to TN Gun Country. I haven't had one negative experience, then won't scalp for ammo when they do have it in, and it's closer to me that anything other than Allen's.2 points

This is the ultimate example of the fact that government is OF the people, not OVER the people. They can't stop the tech, it's already surpassed any control they might have thought they had. Government power is derived by the desire of the governed, not imposed. The DD Liberator was designed to remind folks of that and has done so admirably.2 points

I had the privilege of ROing the range part of the HCP class put on by the Cleveland Hunting Rifle & Pistol Club on Saturday. The students, and some of guns surprised me. Of the 28 students 15 were women. Some were wives, but there were single gals there as well. One young gal shot a pistol for the first time ever, her new 9mm Taurus. She obliterated the main mass of the target with only one flyer off paper, her 1st shot. As many women as men used Ruger & Browning .22 autos, the majority guns & caliber that I saw. That was a surprise to me. One wife didn't have a shot outside the 9 ring shooting a target Ruger .22. I saw one old perfect condition Colt Cobra that a girl used, and several single action .22 Rugers. One guy qualified with a post war, matching s/n, made in West Germany P-38 in 9mm. I qualified with a Colt .45 and did get some odd looks years ago. USMC, State Trooper and Cowboy backgrounds always have had me shooting big caliber guns. I had my wife, family and daughters shoot .40 Glocks or K frame .38 S&W revolvers. I was probably wrong pushing all of them to shoot the bigger guns. Everyone needs to shoot what they are most comfortable with, especially for a HCP range test. It was good to see so many young women deciding to get a HCP. After shooting we talked a lot about what & how women can carry now. It was a most enjoyable time and I would do it again. Cherokee Slim1 point

Diane Feinstein's and Nancy Pelosi's looks are proof of this. There are times when I find myself wondering how they have children. Then I realize there are at least 8 hours of darkness every day and bags for when it isn't.1 point

I don't see a lot of people OC in OR, but I saw a guy OCing a M&P at O'Reily Auto last night. If you look like the guy in your avatar then you have no need to carry. The mere sight of you would be enough to make even the hardest criminal think twice.1 point

While I feel for the families of the fallen, the stuff in there about the airframe used being gross negligence is absolutely absurd. Everyone uses CH47s, even super cool tier one units. They fit a whole lotta people and it is easier to take a couple of Chinooks than half a dozen Blackhawks. They act like they were sent into combat in a clunking paper weight. This makes them lose all credibility with me. You go to war with what you got. If we sat here and analyzed every mission ever where a Servicemember was killed and blamed it on not using the absolute best equipment out there we would be here for years. These families need to STFU regarding that. As for the Imam, I want a recording or transcripts to verify. I'm not getting spun up about something from an unreliable source. These families are an unreliable source based on their overreaction to the mission conducted and the tools used to conduct it.1 point

The strange thing is, by hammering David about a negative post, this just supports the bad report. I think an honest company that cares about its customers and reputation would try to make things right rather than whine to the site owner and make threats. I'm sure it gets frustrating to have to listen to it though.1 point

I guess I'm an odd duck. I still like to use old tools on a daily basis. Blacksmithing, but also axe and a cross cut or bucking saw for cutting trees, broad axe andfoot aze for hewing logs, shingle froe for splitting shingles and shakes, and of course harnessing the horse for some plowing or logging. Extremly impressive video, would love to spend time with that guy. Sent from the backwoods of Nowhere1 point

Honda. I have two 2000 watt Honda EU 2000i's. They can be run in parallel to provide 3200 watts of continuous service and weigh 46 pounds each. The Honda 3KW (2800 watts continuous) weighs 134 pounds. I modified a 6 gallon outboard fuel tank to feed both generators for 24 hours plus of run time. Yes, they are expensive. Total delivered Internet cost was just under $2000.00. You get what you pay for. Try carrying on a conversation standing 6 feet from a $300.00 Champion special.1 point

Exactly. They seem so intent on not being USPSA--that they are making up foolish rules. Here are three easy ones. Wear concealment. Shoot from cover if available. Slice the pie. The pie is sliced(no need for cover)when every target is shot at. If you are in the open be moving--either shooting, reloading or getting to cover.(Or fixing your malfunction)1 point

Here is what I just sent: "I sincerely hope you had an enjoyable time today playing golf with the President. Even more so, I hope he did not succeed in swaying your vote for more gun control to his side of the aisle. Americans are watching their leaders with an eagles eye these days Mr. Corker. We are doing so because our needs go way beyond Conservative leadership. Our needs are for STRONG Conservative leaders that will stand up to this White House administration intent on compromising our rights for their cause. We need strong leaders that will wage war against the criminals and for more CRIME control, Mr. Corker, not wage a war against legal citizens for gun control. I am an avid sport shooter and so is my wife Mr Corker. We are not fools and would truly hate to see a first step taken to limit our firearms no matter how small that step is. We believe in the 2nd Amendment Mr. Corker. Not for sport shooting only, but in its original intent of protecting all the rest of our rights. No one knows the future Mr. Corker. There may be a future day when our kids will face a tyrannical government and need the right and means to fight against it. If these rights are compromised now, they will not have a chance. Further, I'm sure you know you will lose the support of hundreds of thousands of Tennessee voters by voting for any more gun control bills in this push by the liberals as they fight law abiding citizens rather than criminals. This is a sign of an administration that wants control, not freedom. My wife and I are just two of hundreds of thousands of legal gun owners in this state that vote. Do the right thing and protect our 2nd amendment rights from the liberal charge against us." Will it do any good? I don't know, but it's better than doing nothing...right?1 point

In the words of the immortal Lewis Grizzard, "it's a trick General Sherman, there's two of 'em!" It's a ruse that both parties are in on - whether they realize it or not. It gives some credence to the old saying that if voting actually mattered they'd have outlawed it already.1 point
