After a little time to think about it, on Nov. 1, it is my belief that adults shall cease in referring to people they know as "BFF." (like the op did)3 points

Couple of my friends and I decided to make the drive to Georgia last week and visit as many of the film locations we could find. We managed to see a bunch of them. Some of the locations are off limits like the farm house which is privately owned, the prison is actually a studio set and the rock quarry is owned by the city of Atlanta and is posted. Other than that we seen a bunch. It's cool cause some of the locations are far apart but seem like they are just around the corner on the series and some are really close but seem far away in the series. We did visit "Woodbury" which is actually Senoia, GA. It was pretty fun driving the back roads of Georgia looking for these places. They have an app called GA walking dead tours and it's a do it yourself help guide. The town of Senoia is actually home to a bunch of different films and TV shows. We plan on going back soon and finding the new season locations and some we missed. In these pics I took a pic and combined it with either the scene pic from the movie or a pic that represents what it is. If you have seen the show you will know most of them. http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc340/bean962/PhotoGrid_1377955205429_zps97ecbaa4.jpg http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc340/bean962/PhotoGrid_1377996529299_zps84621ee0.jpg http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc340/bean962/PhotoGrid_1377996456966_zps8379e9a7.jpg http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc340/bean962/PhotoGrid_1377996415678_zps4b4cb508.jpg http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc340/bean962/PhotoGrid_1377996415678_zpsdfdf0546.jpg http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc340/bean962/PhotoGrid_1377995812996_zps596ec840.jpg http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc340/bean962/PhotoGrid_1377995656880_zpsfa6ea842.jpg http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc340/bean962/PhotoGrid_1377995415753_zps2bf9382e.jpg http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc340/bean962/PhotoGrid_1377994637659_zpsf5ea872a.jpg http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc340/bean962/PhotoGrid_1377994423355_zpsd0c92b2e.jpg http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc340/bean962/PhotoGrid_1377994143389_zps71d91692.jpg http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc340/bean962/PhotoGrid_1377990001880_zps9554e65d.jpg http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc340/bean962/PhotoGrid_1377982982894_zpse4ce0c9c.jpg http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc340/bean962/PhotoGrid_1377982935360_zpsa5e4cc7c.jpg2 points

The SHTF cycle of hype is like that movie "The Cabin in the Woods" where there is a rotating cast of demonic threats that are randomly selected to attack the people in the cabin. Who knows what it'll be this time? Maybe the merman? Maybe justice for Trayvon mermen? I don't know. Guess we'll have to stay tuned.2 points

I'm all for capitalism too, but I also believe that there is such a thing as ethics in capitalism. Ethics are a subjective thing, but I generally think we all can look at something and come up with the determination of what's right and what's wrong. CTD has done some very wrong things, in my opinion. Perhaps there are many people out there who disagree that their practices were unethical, but I don't see how they can be logically defended. The day following (or perhaps even hours following) the Sandy Hook shootings CTD jacked up their prices on certain items by 10 times the normal cost. They then contributed to the panic by having advertisements suggesting these will be banned. To me, that is a company who is attempting to make money on dead kids. Sorry, that's how it simply boils down. I won't give my money to people like that. As far as I'm concerned they can all rot in hell.2 points

As far as US Military surplus weapons go there simply are no more stockpiles of them. They where exhausted years ago. The exception to that general rule is the CMP which only sells what it returned to the Army by other countries and VFW groups. Once our military adopted a new rifle they often just sold off the obsolete ones to the open market and did not generally stockpile mass quantities of them like the commies did. Now the former communist countries are clearing out their arsenals of the old stuck and we get to buy it all Another is the general American philisophy on acquiring weapons. Contracts where extended when rifles needs and contracts terminated when no longer needed. A fine example is the M1 Carbine. Over 6 million where produced in a short 3 year period. At the end of WWII all contracts where cancelled and not another one was built. Communist countries but millions upon millions of weapons when they where not even needed, partly due to military doctrine, party due to socialistic work programs. Also, in the grand scheme of things, we Americans just did not produce weapons on the scale of other countries. It is estimated that over 36 MILLION Mosins produced of all varieties. Germany alone produced close to 16 MILLION Mauser 98K's just during WWII, that doesn't even include the previous 40 years. Yugoslavia made millions of Mauser pattern rifles for years after WWII that were already obsolete and never even used, just stored for a NATO invasion. That's just three examples. Off the top of my head America produced: A little over 6 million M1 Garands A little over 6 millions M1 Carbines Around 1.5 million M1903 rifles Just over 2 million M1917 rifles etc. There are plenty out there and they are all C&R, you just have to keep an eye out for a price you can live with. They are just no massive stockpiles left here or overseas to be imported.1 point

You're never going to get a law through the legislature prevent companies from firing you if you violate a company policy. The exact same Republicans you are using to vote for the pro-2nd amendment bills, and going to be pro-property rights and not want to interfere with business. A much better tactic imho is to focus on removing government buildings and schools from 39-17-13xx, and if we're lucky, remove the criminal penalty for a 39-17-1359 violation.1 point

Well in full disclosure, I went through a time when doing things the right way was the furthest thing from my mind but I did see how that worked out and started changing some things because when you come out on top of a dishonest transaction, someone else got the short end and that's not a good thing to have hanging over your head. Changing habits isn't always an easy thing to do and they die hard but I will say, every time I did something the right way, it came that much easier the next and pretty soon that is a main concern in any transaction be it business or personal. But like you hit on, there's always someone watching, maybe another human or maybe the man above but your always being watched. The Obama's have no qualms we being the cause of another man's pains, troubles and failures and most of the members of congress are in the same boat with them. I think We The People collectively have let our good practices slip by the way side to the point that dishonesty, lack of morals and poor ethics are the norm. I think that is why "We" sit back quietly because who wants to be the one to chastise them for something we ourselves do. It does strike me as funny though, we're willing to let everything good go to pot but by all means we don't want to be a hypocrite!1 point

This. I have troubleshoot bad bullet placement a lot with a few different guns over the last year or so and have learned that 9 out of 10 times it's one of three things. First most common for me has been poor rings on my scope or not having them fully tightened down. If there is just a little bit of wiggle, (very little) that can have a few MOA or more effect on bullet placement. Second, barrel touching the stock or anything else. A poor stock with the resting of the gun near the front end of the stock will cause point of impact to change, usually on the vertical, but sometimes on the horizontal plane. Move you're support up as close as you can to the trigger guard to minimize this effect. It may be that your stock is bending and touching the barrel. As you get frustrated, your groups will open up even more, usually due to muscles pulling heavier on the gun and causing more surface contact with the barrel. Third, heat. Less of an issue with bolt action, but as you shoot more, the head can cause the barrel to bend ever so slightly in one direction causing your point of impact to drift. Usually, unless your bullets are not spinning properly, if a bullet is stable at 100 yards, it will likely stay stable at 200 or 300. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD1 point

Yeah, I thought the whole thing was fairly well done. Lester, I got that that it was just more of "found/available footage" type intent, had to have some source for the "documentary" -- though I'm sure TV and radio would continue broadcasting as long they could, whole linkage from source to end user dependent on generators of course. And yeah zgun, the only real unknown is whether it would actually take 10 days to get that bad -- like you, I'd halve that, or less. Hell, there might be cannibalism in ten days. Within 30 days, probably kiss at least a fourth of the population off, as disease starts taking toll; probably be cholera and whatnot in populated areas by then. I image the largest number would simply die in place of shock and despair, for lack of better psychological terms. - OS1 point

I took a defensive edge class at humphreys county sheriffs dept for my job. I would say that personally I knew 90-95% of what was taught because I have 10 ARs 9 of which I assembled myself. Not that I'm some kind of expert but I was always the first person done with whatever we were working on and often helped other students. Of the 8 students I was amazed at how many LEOs had very little understanding of the AR. They just weren't "gun guys" So for them it probably was helpful but for the guys that are doing it as a hobby you could learn most of it on your own.1 point

No, it's not, unless your are totally careless. Anyone ignorant enough to walk into an airport with one in the chamber really needs to stay away from guns. I would prefer he never had possession of another gun again. Dude should at least be fined for that purple thing1 point

Let's try this; The guy is a DUMMY for what he did, and because he's from New York, 23 years of age, and living in this area, he is probably Military (which he is). I'm a proud veteran of the Army and in particular, the 101st ABN Div., and as every Veteran knows, every unit has at least one Dummy! DaveS1 point

That brought a thought into my head, I wonder if we'll ever see relicing come into fad in the gun community? I can see it now, "for the bargain price of $1,200. your brand new DPMS can have the look of a cherished war horse..."1 point

You guys with a thirst for blood should go and relieve some of our kids over in the sandbox. It no longer amazes me how much some of you want to hate or kill someone. TMF made a good point about the camps. It was also good to see so many of you wrong about the riots that were to occur after the Zimmerman trial. When are you going to learn that some not so smart azzholes are making a hell of a living by keeping you afraid of EVERYTHING? The really sad part is that after being scared of your own shadows for sixty years, the odds will eventually fall in your favor and something crazy will occur and then we'll have listen to how you and the "Fear Pimps" were right the entire time. I can't wait until the mods start a bat sh*t crazy forum and tuck it away so that people who would like to talk more about their interest in guns can spend more time on the forum without having to read about a crisis every f'n day. Yeah, I know that I don't have to read every thread, but some of the threads are like a train wreak and... Not necessarily directed at the op, but one of the mods made an excellent point about getting these drunk uncle post off of the view new content page. It's a great idea and its time has come. Finally, it would be a damned shame for our government to let a single American child go hungry because they were born to jacked up parents while still sending one penny of our tax dollars or one grain of rice to any foreign country in aid. Rant off! Good morning!1 point

I wasn't blaming him for this. It was more of a joke that he was doing his best to remove the danger of disgruntled ex-employees by doing his best to reduce the number of employees in the first place (crappy economy, ACA etc). Sorry if it didn't hit the mark, they can't all be comedy gold.1 point

I would highly recommend the ALG QMS trigger. It gives about the same pull weight as a mil spec trigger (think home defense) while offering a repeatable crispness that's reliable (think target shooting). It's made by the same company as Geissele I believe. Plus it's only $45 from Brownells.1 point
