Here's where I get decidedly UN-PC. As a white male I am advantaged, but not how the grievance industry attempts to make it sound. My entire life I was told that I was going to succeed or fail on my own merits, by my own actions. I never had anybody telling me that I was disadvantaged by "X" or that the system was set up against me. That put me in the advantaged place of not having anyone or anything to blame for my own shortcomings. I have to own them. I do ok, but I could have been much more successful in life many ways. The reason I'm not is due to my own poor decisions. I know that and I own it. Many folks have spent their whole lives being told that they are disadvantaged due to skin color or gender and so when they fail, they have an easy target to blame for their troubles never having to look inward and make a true assessment of their strengths and weaknesses. That is how they are really disadvantaged they have someone to blame other than themselves.

I think it is dumb as hell.   1) it won't do any good, is insulting, and ruins some kid's one day a year to eat the junk. 2) they make and sell sugar free candy by the ton.  Buy a bag of that and say something nice, how hard is THAT?

We were at Iuka Mississippi last month for a big reenactment. We took two of our guns (3" ordnance rifles). Here we are firing during the battle. if it smells ok (like new powder) and doesn't have any funny growing things   I think it was described to me as "cheesy" once   should be fine    A solvent smell is an indication the powder is still quite good. An Acid smell is a warning the powder has started to break down and nitric acid byproducts are forming from the nitrocellulose breaking down. Are they the old square metal cans? actually those might be older Some of those old cans are collectors items.   Some of my powders are older than that  and work just fine.

I imagine the office asked her to unload it as an alternative to taking possession of the weapon for the duration of the stop which is something the law specifically allows for reasons of "officer safety". My question to the officer would be to ask how having me handle my weapon helps increase his safety? Wouldn't the weapon staying put in its holster be a much safer course of action for everyone involved?

DaveS,   Please go read it again...  I referenced the EXACT law 39-17-1351r1 then quoted the EXACT text of that law:   You then post without ANY cite that your 'research' shows that we don't honor all other out of state permits...  And then you question my maturity for calling you out on totally ignoring the fact that I not only showed you the exact place in the law where TN does honor all permits, but I took the time to quote you the entire subsection of the law so you could "read the law for yourself"...   I'm not sure how much easier I could make it for you?  How exactly should I go about citing laws in the future so you read them and don't just see a bunch of numbers and letters?  I'll turn on the big flashing red letters if that helps you in the future?   Just a quick FYI, those 'bunch of numbers' are the place in the TCA you can go to look up the law in question, and helps save time so you don't have to read 10,000 pages of laws to find the one you're looking for....  I try to include the TCA reference so if you want to go read the law yourself you can look it up quickly and confirm my quoted text is correct...  instead of referencing mysterious 'research' where I provide no link or cite :)  

It didn't happen quickly. The politicians started giving you the weiner inch by inch years ago. You got accustomed to it while hoping that it would stop, because you happened to like your politician. Now some big chocolate guy and his prison mates are ramming with no lube. Yes, it's disgusting, but so is what both parties are doing to us.

Like Chuck I had a father that pounded it into me that I was not any better than anyone else and we all put our pants on the same way and if I was going to succeed in this world I was going to have to work hard to get it because no one was going to give me anything without wanting my SOUL in return. So what little I have I did work for and no one gave me anything I didn't earn and I still have my SOUL...............jmho

I am no longer as active in politics as I once was.  The reason I am not is I have come to realize that it is pretty much over; we have gone past the point of no return.  Things will not get any better until we have a massive collapse where everyone is affected (The Big Pain as OhShoot puts it).  When that happens, there is no guarantee that we will revert back to a system that has been proven to work.  We could very easily go the wrong direction and turn against each other, eventually destroying ourselves.    That said, I will still participate in all elections, and voice my opinion from time to time.  However, I will no longer allow politics to be a big factor in my life.  I have chosen instead to focus my attention on more important things such as preparing, building/strengthening relationships, renewing my faith/spirituality, and just working on becoming a better person in general.

  You may enjoy your sarcasm, but a lot of accidents & deaths are caused by people texting & driving. My BIL was hospitalized back in August with a broken arm & compound fracture to his leg because an assbag texting driver ran him off the road.

From my understanding they got the truck from a seizure and it was painted by inmates.  They expect ticket revenues to more than cover the fuel for it, and it may actually make the roads a little safer without hindering non offenders with the burden of the cost.  I'm all for it.

ugh......... maybe they're be able to see into the big rigs now and stop the biggest offenders.. the truck drivers.

  You gotta have something taller than an SUV to see into an SUV. Makes sense. I'm all for it if it actually makes the roads safer & stops some of these jackasses from endangering the rest of us.

I always buck the mainstream on this:   My firearm related bucks are pretty much amoral, anybody selling them at all is already a plus in my book.  Recently bought a thousand rounds of .223 from CTD, cheapest in hand I've seen in a year. I own a Moonie gun and buy from Walmart too,  btw, but I don't have to believe a company walks on water to take advantage of a decent deal. As far as any particular one being an opportunist gouger at times,  well, P.T. Barnum and H.L. Mencken were dead on, but it's not my fault. Caveat emptor.   - OS

Could you just imagine how that child would feel when 4 or 5 other children standing on the porch got candy and you got a letter to take home to your parents because someone "thinks" you're a little chunky?   Yeah, I agree with suing, for no other reason than to get her head out of her "blind spot".   DaveS

I hope every family that receives that letter sues her on behalf of their children's "emotional damage". Make sure she cannot afford to give out candy or afford the paper for another letter.   This can cause long lasting emotional problems for a child.

OP, I apologize for the divergence of this thread away from your question. I think you will be very happy with a rifle from DD. I know I love mine. If I weren't recovering from 2 knee replacement surgeries I'd meet you somewhere and let ya look mine over. But anyway, order one. You won't be sorry.

I wouldn't refuse to do what I was reasonably asked to do...but like I said I am not a 2yr that is incapable of reason...if LE is uncomfortable and has valid reasoning, then I have no issues...but if I am to comply for the sake of compliance then I call B.S. that is hunger for power not fear of safety. ..and for the record I am in no way being argumentative...this just boggles my mind....

But they don't identify with the other party either......kinda why they are libertarians.
