  1. Because, despite their lack of aesthetic appeal, they work. They work when all other fail. All the older, classier, sexier designs need a trained skilled hand to get them to run like a Glock, and even then they will fail before the fugly plastic turd. A Glock is a framing hammer. We don't brag about or sit and admire a good framing hammer. We just use them and they don't fail. When I go to the range to have fun, I'll bring a Blackhawk. It's gorgeous and I love to look at her. When I get outta bed in the morning and tighten the belt around my britches, there's a Glock 19 on the right side. Later that day when I've been wallerin' on the ground and climbin around cars, I never give the Tupperware a thought. This is the definition of "Glock Perfection". It's the perfected TOOL and it works like no other.

  2. That wind ate me alive! I told my SIL and my Son via text I was climbing down at 9 because I was cold and miserable. At 8:58 a doe walked within 25 yards of my stand and I put her down for a dirt nap. Was out of my stand by nine! DaveS

  6. It’s just a knee jerk reaction to technology that they don’t understand. 3D printing is some bad azz technology that will be very useful in manufacturing; but guns are not one of those uses. I find it amusing that I could produce a gun that is fully functional and would rival anything mass produced by gun makers, and it is legal; but involve a 3D printer and people starting wringing their hands. On a different note, we are looking at getting some parts quoted that we machine with 5-axis machines on complex surfaces; printing should be a fraction of the cost.

  10. Two weeks ago today, I adopted an 18 month old male basset hound through Belly Rubs Basset Hound Rescue. I just couldn't go without a hound any longer. :) His name is Wally and he has an interesting story... About five weeks ago, an elderly couple who live in Lenoir City were RV camping up in the Smokies when they saw this dog wandering toward them. He went to the door of their RV and whined like he wanted to be let in. Being dog lovers themselves they obediently opened the door at which point this hound went inside, promptly jumped up on the sofa and went to sleep! He was a bit of mess, dirty and tick infested...they washed him up in their on board shower and dealt with the ticks as best they could and too him to their vet to get fully rid of the ticks. That's when they contacted the rescue organization. They named his Wally and I decided it's a good name for him! We don't know much about him but it was obvious that he had been on his own for a while. He is negative for heart worms which was a big relief but he was positive for worms which he's been treated for and we are also treating him for a couple of bacterial infections (ears, toenails and positive for a tick born disease; all of which is very common to basset hounds and especially in Tennessee) but overall, he's a pretty healthy boy. Based on his teeth, my vet believes he is not older than 18 months. He's already made himself quite at home here and quite at home with me...I still miss my girl Millie and I suspect I always will but Wally is a great hound and already a good friend! If you have or ever had a dog who has made you laugh, brightened your life, and every day silently accepted your tears without judgment, snuggled with you, forgiven your faults and loved unconditionally - dogs are a gift that most of us don't deserve!

  11. The only reason you can see it is because its clean, this is a Glock after all. Stop cleaning it! Lol I took mine outta the holster the other night, I cleared the gun then proceeded to wipe out enough lint to weave a new shirt. I'm looking at mine right now and there's some tool marks in there where they ground out the casting flash. In a lot of injection molding Rees a problem area. A place where the geometry of the mold makes it difficult for the plastic to fill out or sometimes overflow if the mold isn't perfectly sealed. A has been said, no biggie.

  16. They will NOT accept 2 pages but it is perfectly ok to print your own form as long as page 1 and page 2 (front and back) are on the same page.  They stopped allowing 2 page forms years ago b/c some were getting CLEO signoff on suppressors and then putting the back of one form with the front of a machinegun form, etc... Lot of the crap we deal with now b/c of a few bad apples...   If you do not have a duplex printer just print page 1, flip it over and print page 2.  The ATF forms are adobe PDFs and will allow you to type in your information. Be sure to pick up the cert of compliance forms too.

  19. I know I don't really know most of you but I also know that there are probably some of you who only tollerate me because my picture of Millie as my avatar for most of my time here made you think I wasn't all bad. :)  Anyway...I though I would share this as I had to let her go late yesterday afternoon...   -------------------- Over a period of about three weeks, my little girl, “Millie” the basset hound went from a full of life and beautiful girl and love of my life to being a very ill little girl. I noticed her appetite starting to wane the last week of September. I didn’t think a lot of it at the time because it wasn’t all that unusual for something to upset her stomach and for her to forgo a meal or two or even three before returning to gobbling up her breakfast and dinner. Into the second week I was getting concerned; changed her dog food to see if she would eat more and that seemed to work for few days. I boarded here at my vet’s facility (her usual place) the first weekend of October (Friday through Sunday afternoon October 4-6, 2013) because I was out of town and noted my concerns to the staff – when I picked her up on Sunday afternoon they said she hadn’t eaten much on Thursday but seemed to eat normally Saturday. I took her home and she did seem to eat okay then stopped eating again by Monday…I started supplementing her food with canned and for a couple of days, that worked but she was obviously getting worse. I took her into my vet’s office on Thursday the 10th and had many different tests run; all of which seemed to indicate a problem with her liver. We started her on medication in hopes that it was an infection that could be treated. Initially, Millie took the medicine and she ate well for about a day or so but by Saturday, she was throwing up a lot and finally, by Sunday, refused to eat anything at all. I took her into Dr. Barker on Monday morning and x-rays showed a large mass near her liver. On my vet’s recommendation I took her to another facility so that we could have an ultrasound done - it took only a few minutes for the ultrasound to confirm both the mass and many tumors throughout her liver and spleen. There was no choice; no right choice anyway except to let her go and ease her pain but nothing is ever going to ease the pain or fill the huge empty hole in my heart. I can’t even begin to describe how much I loved that long-eared, droopy-eyed bundle of unconditional love…she was my pal…she was my best friend…she was my little girl…my “Sweet P” and I’ll always love, miss and remember her. Rest in peace my sweet little girl - I lost you far too soon and I'll always love you. ------------------------------

  27. Most ads that I see on CL will state whether it has a rebuilt title or not. Ditto, he should have been upfront with you. Blow it off.   I had an incident that I feel torn about too. I was filling my truck up and a pretty well dressed 20 something blonde came up and said she was broke and needed money. She defiantly didn't look broke but I gave in and gave her $5. I later saw what she was driving, a new Suburban.  :wall:  That's something to be torn about.

  28. a vehicle with a rebuilt title has been totaled by an insurance company. if there is no indication of body damage repair it may have been under water somewhere. you definitely don't want a vehicle that has been flooded. the rebuilt title should have been the first thing a seller should make known. I would have done the same thing.

That would be about like a 1100 lb Black Angus Bull walking around in the woods and no one seeing it. Sounds a little unusual but I guess stranger things have happened???.................jmho

  41.   The only thing that might change is then the Republicans will be doing whatever it is they like.  And that's not necessarily a great thing.   I firmly believe the Republicans are glad this happened, just in case they are ever in a majority situation again.  I can guarantee you that rule is not going to change if they ever do.  They can then use it as needed but can point back to the dems, like the little children they all are, and say "well, they started it".

  44. people go to Chicago every day and don't have trouble.  I lived up that way for eight years and never had trouble.   99% of violent crimes in Chicago are gang related.  I would not lose sleep over going there.   A sure way of inviting trouble is to illegally have a gun,  especially if you are a law abiding person.  YMMV
