  3. Dented sheet metal is one thing. Breaking windows when the driver and/or passengers are in the car is a whole different ball game. Flying glass can cause grievous injury. And after a window is broken, you're one swing away from a head injury. Threatening to break windows when my little boy is in the car is begging to be shot.

  4. Jesse's $1.8 million "win" is a Phyrric Victory in the court of public opinion. The money is just so much dry grass in his mouth. The optics of the case damage him more than if he had won a dollar and had bought the widow a cup of coffee with it. He has personally done more than $1.8 million in damage to himself by pursuing this case beyond his adversary's grave.

  8.     Right.  He did not sue Kyle's widow.  The lawsuit was filed about a year before he was killed.  Since Kyle's wife was the executor of his estate, she had to deal with it after his death.  That's just how it works.

  12. Brownells also sells oversize screws for stripped holes in a Ruger receiver. It is the same thread pitch but slightly larger.   And if you decide to use the same size screws you can use a LITTLE bit of JB Weld to sometimes fix the holes. Use shoe polish to coat the screws and base. You put the polish between your fingers and roll the screws around. Then smear some on the bottom of the rail. Put the screws through the base and put a very small dab of JB Weld on the shaft of the screw. Ideally you enough to get into the hole without getting any on the base. Then screw it together but do not tighten like normal. You want then finger tight and not hand tight. Let it set overnight to cure and then in the morning unscrew everything and clean up an JB that might be sticking up.   Just make sure you use polish, or a release agent, on the screws and base. I have also heard of people using non stick cooking spray but I have never used it.   Personally going 8-40 is easy and you end up with a much stronger connection. You might have to drill the base holes larger depending on the base.

  13. Ordered today.... I can't wait! The shotty is gunna be for 3 gun, and I've just always wanted a hi-cap 10MM and I'm not a Glock fan, so the EAA is pretty much my only option. Stoked!!

  14. It's made from 1084 carbon steel 5/32" thick. Total length is just over 11 1/2" with a blade length of about 5 1/2". It's shape makes it a Wharncliffe and has sculpted G10 blue scales with zombie green liners. The scales are fastened with epoxy and corby rivets. The design you see in the blade is deep etched into the steel the the entire blade was etched save the edge. It has the "caveman look" on the spine and at the butt of the knife. There is large but gentle jimping added as well. I had a blast making this knife...lots of time and details went into this thing. It's very sharp and the point on it will stick you. Ask me how I know.

  16. Mike...like you load your own ammo to shoot subsonic... Hahaha. I shot the SAS covert wet the other day... Holy smokes... Movie quiet. And I have some 556 subs that'll blow your mind, but won't cycle the gun. Tomorrow I'll work on uploading some videos of shooting suppressed. I did a comparison the other day with my osprey 45 on my 1911 next to my 8.5 300/221 with 208 subs and that was interesting. I have a bunch of stuff I can show ya. I just need to work on uploading it

  17. I have the Gen 4 21. It's been a great gun. I've only put maybe 300 rounds down range so far but I've had zero errors. I like it a lot but I've considered selling it because it's just so damn big. For me, it's just not practical for anything other than home defense and maybe an open carry woods gun. It's a beast.   The 41 doesn't excite me. It's the 21 frame with a thinner but longer slide. Most folks have said it has more recoil than the 21.    If you only want the full size gun for home defense/range fun then I'm sure you'll be happy with either one.

  20. You can basically look at this as a $25 computer that has the horsepower and functionality to allow you to add logic to your projects. They're fun to play with, but they open up an amazing amount of space for creative innovation. My seven year old and I are about to put together a watering system for our garden that waters based on the moisture content in the soil at different levels. They're a great intro to logic and controls. I can't wait to see what she comes up with.

  22. Here's the funny thing about the cardboard box they used for the bus.  Back in January, my wife found a police car that Target had put on clearance after Christmas.  It must have sat on the shelf for a little while, because she got a $500ish dollar electric police car for my son for his birthday for about $75.  It sat in our attic for months until his birthday rolled around.   The police car is awesome.  It has lights and sirens, a loudspeaker that works and is motorized. My son loves it.  But, if the girls pull out the school bus while he's in the car, he'll leave the car where it sits and go and get in the bus - which is literally the box his car came in.   I'm all about cool projects - especially when you've got your kids working alongside you on something they're interested in.  But, I think that we're also probably pretty susceptible as parents to constantly compare our efforts against the Pintrests and Facebooks of the world instead of the needs of our kids.    I think it's incredibly humbling to look at our kids and see that they're pretty happy with a box or a half a sheet of plywood perched in a tree. We could probably all step back and learn a little bit, there.

  23.   This. The fine details of the story only matter to a few. On the surface, Jesse looks like an asshole. That's about as deep as most folks are gonna look. It's exactly how Obama got reelected.

  24. Spilled milk is the Jesse v Kyle crap. Going on national media wanting to bring Howard stern into a presidential campaign and engaging in conspiracy crap after serving as a governor is enough to turn credibility into crap. His lawyers proved he lost income after the remark was made.hes capable of making millions, if he can focus on reality and not alien crap. If he really wants to win he should tear his settlement check in half and give his portion back to the wife.that would earn him millions back, instead of relying on Area 51 crap. What burns my ass is someone of Ventura s stature claiming they can't function after someone was talking smack. That's teenage girl drama. The teenagers move on,eventually. Most people forget about incidents after 5 to 8 years. Instead of doing a media blitz saying it was bs. He kept the demon running for over how many years. I still say he's a pussy for going after a dead vets estate. If she had nothing but his burial flag what would he have done. Pussy.in my opinion. He gets my respect if he keeps 1 dollar returning the rest.Side note: if it was BS Kyle should have apologized unless he just wanted to screw w him at any cost...

  29. Remember, MTAS sent out a preemptive strike to every City and Municipality in the State outlining the steps and showing them how to "Opt out", instructing them that there was no need to have a public hearing, providing the legal paperwork to do so, and instructing each recipient to do so. (Your tax dollars at work)!).   Freshman Representative Tillman Goins (great young former Marine who really wants to do the right thing) put forward legislation that would truly remove local municipalities ability to occupy the field with respect to permit carry in parks, Beth Harwell, Ron Ramsey, Charles Sargent, Andy Holt et al. squashed the attempt. They are breaking him to the fist, left his bill shredded and dead, teach him to think the Constitution actually means a damn thing to the oligarchy.

Better facilities, an entire team of doctors focused on two patients.  From the article they are being brought home in an isolation bubble equipped aircraft.  They will be placed immediately in another isolation unit at the hospital.  I would imagine they can learn a lot more about this strain with two patients at WHO stateside facilities.

  35. For whatever service Jesee Venture did for the country he has my thanks as does Chris Kyle as do all who have taken the oath and worn the uniform but I suggest looking at what each has done after their service...   When I look at what Venture has done after that service I see a no-talent actor, narcissistic conspiracy theory nutcase of a man who seems to enjoy filing lawsuits (this one was not his first)…a man who has said that he has lost his patriotism and that "I will never stand for a national anthem again. I will turn my back and I will raise a fist".  He has also vowed to apply for Mexican citizenship so that he can live there more months of the year.  Apparently his loss of patriotism and disgust with America does not prevent him from trying to profit from America’s court system   When I look at Chris Kyle after his service I see a man who poured his live (and lost his life) trying to help other veterans. His book, in which Venture claims he was slandered, was written to fund Kyle’s charity (and as I understand it, that is where all the profits have gone). A man who, at least outwardly, exhibited true concern for others rather than how to enrich himself.   Even if everything Venture said was true and he was slandered, only an asshole of ponderous proportions takes it out on the widow and child Chris Kyle left behind - continuing the lawsuit after Kyle’s death was a childish and reprehensible thing to do no matter what Kyle may or may not have done/said. I’m not suggesting that Kyle is perfect; I’m not even saying Venture wasn’t slandered (although I will always think it childish of him to file a lawsuit) but from my perspective, one is a little boy in an old man’s body who cares little for anyone or anything but himself and the other is a man, perhaps a man with many flaws, who tried to live a life of service to those who needed it.    Unfortunately, it’s only the dirt bag America-hating narcissist that is still with us which is pretty sad.

  36. It makes one wonder, though. Some of the cases making the news are doctors and AIDS workers. If a doctor cannot avoid contracting it, then it must be spreading pretty easily. I can't see a doctor treating an Ebola patient without taking some extraordinary protective measures.

  37.   When my grandfather (on dad's side) died, my aunt called my father and asked if he was going to the funeral. My dad said he hadn't decided yet. My aunt told him she sat around the previous day, spent the entire day trying to think of one good thing about him and couldn't, so she wasn't going. My dad said, "Good point," and didn't go either. Pretty sad when even your own kids can't think of a single redeeming quality that would make them at least stand by your graveside as you are sent off.

  41. I have been out of touch recently and have been reading all the posts concerning the sales tax issue on purchasers from Buds in KY. On any transfers there will be a $25.00 transfer fee + TICS. We are in fact the first franchise for Buds GUN Shop. Most of our inventory if not all has been priced to help compensate for the sales tax. Please come by and visit our store and see why we are so proud.

  42. I see your point. I suppose that if I'm ever asked I'll probably just lie.  I don't like to lie but if someone is going to ask me a question, the answer to which is none of their business, I'm not going to lose any sleep over lying to them. ;) If I had could hold character long enough I'd love to do something like this to someone who asks me a question that they have no damn business asking; enjoy... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5cpzLxYnpG4

  44. The proper response would have been, "I'm sorry, sir, I didn't see you." Nothing wrong with common courtesy, even when you're in the right. Or say nothing at all. Then there's no motorized batboy to contend with.    As a rule, and especially when armed, never do anything to escalate even what appears to be a minor situation. Shelve your pride and be nice.    When do you stop being nice? When your inner Dalton tells you it's time to stop being nice.

I prefer not to disclose because it has nothing to do with why I was stopped, I'm not going to tell him about all the stuff in my car that's not a danger to him.   I don't see a difference in telling him I have a gun and telling him about my grandma's toe fungus. Neither are relevant to why I was stopped.
