I absolutely love this knife, I carried it to a party last night and let a few people see it. I let my stepson play with it and he thinks it is the coolest knife ever made (he has no idea that i have one for him for a Christmas present) I had no idea just how cool the Ivory Micarta with scrimshaw would look and feel, in all honesty this is by far one of my all-time favorite knives, Pro Tech hit a Grand Slam with this run, you all are going to love them!!!!!!!!8 points

My favorite thought of late on Facebook is something similar to, "if you're using a product that you don't pay for and wondering how they make money, it's likely you are the product."5 points

I saw something this morning at said "Change your clocks back on Sunday and your country back on Tuesday." Sounds about right...4 points

That's how this stuff gets started: A young woman was preparing a ham dinner. After she cut off the end of the ham, she placed it in a pan for baking. Her friend asked her,"Why did you cut off the end of the ham"? And she replied ,"I really don't know but my mother always did, so I thought you were supposed to." Later when talking to her mother she asked her why she cut off the end of the ham before baking it, and her mother replied, "I really don't know, but that's the way my mom always did it." A few weeks later while visiting her grandmother, the young woman asked, "Grandma, why is it that you cut off the end of a ham before you bake it?" Her grandmother replied, "Well dear, otherwise it would never fit into my baking pan."4 points

What is selfish and cowardly about a person wanting to spare her family and loved ones the plight of having to care for her while she lingers on in pain ?4 points

These are perhaps my 3 favorite knives, the Damascus is Chad Nichols Blackout, it is hard to catch its beauty with a photograph. The stainless steel is the custom that I posted about a few months ago, I had Dave make me a different one than the one he was holding for me, I opted to have only stainless steel and no DLC on mine.3 points

Picked this up today and wow! Is it twice as much as the most expensive knife I've ever bought? Yep. Is it awesome? Yep. Would I do it again? Absolutely! Everything it was promised to be plus some. Thanks Willis68!3 points

And this is how it gets perpetuated. Even if there were 1,000's of boxes of ammo and there was no shortage this idiot would still be telling people the 3 box limit is federal law. I would have gotten his name and contacted his district manager then follow that up with an email about your store experience through the Walmart website. If an employee looks at me wrong that is what I do now, contact every boss between the employee and the district manager. I know every store manager by name as well as their boss and have all their numbers. I will not put up with minimum wage workers acting like I am some idiot. I have even had a worker call me an idiot when THEY could not find the item they told me was in stock over the phone. The same employee told me they were going to hang on to the game I was buying for my son to "keep me from stealing it". Both times I contacted store managers and followed it up on the website. I have overheard the sporting goods supervisor recommend the best pellet rifle to a customer to kill the neighbors dog. He also said 1911s are designed to maim kids and he would never order hollow points because they are designed to "kill kids". He also said he would never sell military ammo and I have caught them hiding 5.56 under the counter several times per his orders. He HATES ARs and tries everything, including lying to customers, to try not to sell them. He told me all a person needs is a bolt action rifle. And yes I contacted his boss over all those comments. I am spending my hard earned money there and I do not have to tolerate idiots.3 points

Keep in mind this is actually a slide stop, not a slide release. It's not designed to release the slide. That should be done by pulling back on the slide. That being said, I've never had an issue using the extended slide stop or even the stock version.3 points

So I am quitting "the habit." I've seen numerous other people state their reasons for leaving or not joining to begin with; and I am finally coming to my senses. The realization that the social network is nothing but a joke. It's like a veil over reality, fake and superficial. I have wasted so much time looking at mindless ads, posts and game requests instead of actually reading something with substance. I feel like I can learn more from interacting with you guys here even though I may not always see eye to eye, that's life. Now I have time to actually spend using my mind instead of placating it with nonsense...2 points

Took the afternoon to go squirrel hunting with a buddy and his two boys. They aren't quite old enough to sit still more than a few minutes at a time, but they did manage to sit still long enough for a young 4 point buck to walk up within 25 yards from us. The little buck couldn't figure out what those bumps on the log were, but he stayed long enough for the kids to get a good look. The funniest part was that the little buck was drooling like crazy. Slobber strings stretched from his mouth to the ground. I thought he was just hungry and drooling for the acorns under the oak we were sitting near. However, after the buck blew and trotted off, I took the boys on a walk around the edge of the field, where the buck had come from. We found a heavily used trail leading from the field into the woods. At the edge of the field was a persimmon tree that was loaded and dropping persimmons. I let the two boys taste test the persimmons and the little one got a bitter one. He spit and drooled just like the buck. Then the light bulb went off. I guess deer don't discriminate between fully ripe and slightly ripe persimmons. The buck must have stopped to get a few on his way to the acorn flat.2 points

Exactly. Just a way to keep up with the girls we shagged or wanted to shag in high school. Pathetic isn't it?2 points

I think that it is properly called the slide stop. There are some guns that you would have to have monstrous muscles to release the slide with your thumb like a S&W M&P Shield. Sling shoting the slide is a much preferred method because it is a gross motor skill over a fine motor skill.2 points

Roman rode with me to the dump today, then I walked him up and down the creek bank and through a couple fields. Happy dog, happy owner!! He sure is handsome!!2 points

Well, while I am reviving older threads... I had a blast putting around at like 3 mph this summer. It was a fair amount of work but we planted a ton of trees, dug out some stumps, spread winter rye, cut swales and spread a bunch of chirt. I'm not the fastest tractor guy in the world but I'm learning a ton ( proving my wife wrong that the old dog can learn something still). I'm pretty good at using the backhoe to dig a trench but really bad at scraping a shallow area, just need more seat time. Added a tooth bar and also bought a quick connect plate that has a hay spear and forklift attachments. Having the forklift capability is really helpful when getting to the farm with a bunch of seed etc in the back of the truck. I stick stuff on pallets at work and load them in the truck and then fork them right off when I get to the farm. We finished our 30 x 40 building, smoothed a place for our camper, and cut a path through the woods from the front pasture to the back pasture. And now, I am completely broke... This winter will mainly be continuing to knock down trees, especially where the house will be built. I know a pro could come in and do it in just a few days but I have a couple of years to get it done and my wife thinks I'm out working hard so as long a she doesn't read this post I'm going to keep on keeping on... In the next few weekends I have to mark out where the house goes so the soil guy can come in and perk our soil. Then we can get the septic tank in. Going to run a branch line over to the camper. Don't mind carrying water to use and easy to load the generator for power but hauling icky stuff back is not any fun. So, septic tank time... We've saved for this for 20 years and sometimes it seemed like this day would never come but it is here and I love it. In the next year or so we will get the well dug and then we can start a garden up there. I can't wait to have a serious garden to grow stuff in. Mark.2 points

And to think...all of that info at our fingertips and I still got up at 0620 this morning! I hate it when that happens.... On a side note...my Dogs don;t care about daylight savings time. Their body clocks know when it's time to eat!2 points

Long after the ammo nightmare Wally World still has a 3 box policy in place. As I went into the antioch Wally center amongst young delinquents knocking crap off of shelves while shoving footballs and such in their pants I locate 5 boxes of 7 shot for the match tomorrow.usually I buy the 5 box pack for 25.77 but they're out so I settle on 5 loose boxes no big deal. The Wally worker opens up the case and advises me if the 3 box policy. I advised him no problem as they're out of the 5 box pack. We go to electronics to check out. Slow Sally the cashier advises me I can only get 3 boxes of " bullets" . I explain to her about being out of the 5 pack, she calls a CSR guy who now 10 minutes into this shows up and says you can only buy 3 boxes of bullets at a time it's store policy and the law. LOL I said ok and explain your other stores have the 5 pack in stock but you're out and I need 5 boxes. Can u sell the 5 line other stores do. He again tells me no sir I can't it's against the law. I asked him what law and he says its against federal law to buy more than 3 boxes of bullets. I asked him when did he pass the bar and get his law degree? He quickly stuttered and said well my whole family are police and I know the law. I responded back well I work in law enforcement. There is no law about 3 boxes, and you shouldn't practice law without being admitted to the bar. He was white as a fng ghost and said thank you an ran off into the sea of kids knocking crap off shelves and playing aisle football. I left w my 3 boxes Thank you ammo bitches your collateral damages lives in to affect me others and Elmer Fudd ....1 point

Too cool. What are the grip panels made of on that knife on the right? I recently got a new job where I have the opportunity to make some really good bonus money every now and then. I'm super excited about this Godfather coming in. I think I may also want a Godson to go with it. After I snag a few guns I really want with my play money, I may take part of a bonus and talk to ProTech about making something with some crazy nice flame maple scales. Maybe a blue or teal/aqua stain... I'm a guitar fanatic, and love highly figured maple. I want a knife to match the second guitar from the right in this pic: I know you've got tons of sweet knives... do you ever get any to match items from your other, maybe non-firearm related, hobbies?1 point

Gotta handle it first to see if it is practicable for EDC. How it handles for my everyday tasks and all. Done broke the tip of my Kershaw Speedsafe. That's what I get for trying to pry up a superglued nickel. I am not done with that nickel just yet. I am hopeful for a Monday delivery here.1 point

This is an absolutely tragic story. I cannot even begin to imagine the emotions and heartbreak that she and her family us going through right now. I also believe that this should be a personal choice. Given a life of nothing but pain and suffering with no hope of recovery versus a peaceful self-euthinazation, it's not hard to see why she made the choice.1 point

I did the same thing! Of course I was going to have to leave around 4:15 so when I got up it was still really nasty. I tried to get the dog to come out from under her blanket but she wasn't having it so I took it as a sign that I should just go back to bed.1 point
