Thanks to DaveW, I have added another member to my Beretta family. I feel that I might also be starting to attempt to compete with Graycrait on tiny guns. Beretta 21A compared to an M9 and a Model 71. 3 points

Vinyl, the best platform ever created for listening to music. I grew up spinning my mother's Zeppelin, Fleetwood Mac, and Bad Company records. I'm 26. :D3 points

Let me start by saying I do not believe I am entitled to anything. I also recognize the fact there are some people way worse, as far as disabilities go, than me. So what upsets me is those people who think that space with the blue and white wheelchair sign means it is for THEIR quick trip into the store. Now unless I am having a really bad day I have my wife park in a regular spot so those worse than me can use the handicapped spot. But when I am having a bad day, when every step I can avoid matters, I need to park close or just stay in the truck if can't. And honestly I would gladly walk the extra distance if I could without having issues. At one point I would ask and EVERY time I have asked if they have a placard, as I stand there with my crutches, they act like I am the jerk and even cuss me out. Because of that I have quit even asking because the entitlement crowd apparently thinks they are entitled to the space I need from time to time. I wish there was something I could do to the jerks. I was told if I parked behind them and block them in I could get in trouble. Not to mention the person would probably loose their mind. I just wish people would understand that to some of us that extra 50' makes a difference, especially those with breathing problems. Fortunately I do not have breathing problems but some do and have to stop constantly to catch their breath. Thanks for letting me vent.2 points

Take a look at "Emerald Green" arborvitae. I planted some to block the back of a privacy fence that was installed next door knowing that it would not be maintained on the back side and look bad pretty soon. They won't grow like bamboo but they will be less work and will do fine if watered and fertilized. Here are some pics of mine.2 points

The recent focus on the mentally ill is nothing more than the latest effort to find some group of people to blame for our social problems. We have stigmatized mental illness so severely in our society that people are afraid to get treatment and people who have diagnosed mental illness are treated as if they are all potentially dangerous psychotics that need to be on a constant suicide watch. If you get cancer, people rush to your side and offer support. If you are suffering from mental illness, you are ignored and whispered about in hushed tones. The fact of the matter is that mental illness is no different than other forms of illness. Most people have some form of diagnosable mental illness at least once in their life, some people have chronic mental illness that can easily be treated with medication and/or therapy, and some have very serious mental illness that causes them substantial difficulty living a content and "normal" life. Some types of mental illness are more problematic than others. We know that many members of the military who have served in combat suffer from chronic mental illness, especially PTSD. We also know that many law enforcement officers suffer from PTSD due to the cumulative effects from long-term exposure to job-related stress. Individuals in these professions are typically very hesitant to seek mental health treatment, and as a result, suicide rates in these groups are much higher in comparison to the general public. We have stigmatized mental illness to the point that those who commit their lives to protecting our society are placing themselves at greater risk for mental illness and suicide because they know they risk losing their careers should they seek treatment. I dare say that a good number of TGO members are currently taking some sort of medication for mental health reasons. The overwhelming majority of people with mental illness are not inherently dangerous to others, but our society - including our lawmakers - has labeled those with mental illness as a group to be viewed with great suspicion and constantly at risk for losing their rights. Something as simple as seeking assistance during a mental health crisis can result in an involuntary hospitalization even if the individual is voluntarily seeking help to get control of their illness before it results in suicidal intent (the question of whether the government should have the authority to forcefully prevent you from taking your own life is another issue altogether). It's time to stop treating a huge group of law-abiding people as if they are potentially mass-murderers simply because a very small number of individuals who appeared to have severe mental illness committed a violent act.2 points

I've been a serious vinyl collector since the 9th grade. with over 1300 LPs in my collection, I never got rid of my turntable. I've been using a Garrard linear tracking turntable since the mid-80's. That doesn't mean that I ignored the digital revolution. My CD collection is about the same size as my vinyl collection, but there's lots of stuff in my LP/45 collection that has never seen the light of day on a CD release.2 points

The problem with all of this boils down to stupidity. The NFA laws are stupid and people who constantly write letters to the BATFE to scratch their guilty conscience or uncertainty are stupid for doing so. If you ask the same question enough times, sooner or later you're going to get the answer you don't want.2 points

Actually we got the best Christmas present we could ever ask for. Her name is Madalynn and she was here a little early for Christmas but a Christmas baby none the less. We could not be happier to have a grand daughter to spoil. Definitely changes the way you view life. My only Christmas wish is for our son to come home and met her next month. He has been deployed since July, and missed the birth, but he should be home within a month.2 points

As long as the government gives special benefits to any group of people there will always be some who abuse it. Whether it be disability benefits , parking benefits, tax breaks, food stamps, whatever. We just have to accept the fact that any time society tries to help people, there will always be someone to abuse it. We can not stop it so we may as well spend our time worrying about something that we can change. I think I'll send a check to Knox Area Rescue Ministries tomorrow. Maybe I can actualy help change something by that.1 point

The day the courts uphold the idea that between two identically lawfully configured firearms, one is perfectly legal to possess and even to fire from the shoulder, while even possessing its twin is a felony, just because of what was in a person's mind when he constructed it, our Minority Report society wlll have truly arrived. - OS1 point

Only problem with that plan is it's already easy enough for a LBK, stripped upper, and buffer tube to transmorgafy into a full on rifle unprovoked. Start keeping multiples of something around and you'll likely end up with multiple rifles before your even sure just what happened.1 point

Flying out of Nashville today. No I didn't walk through the TSA checkpoint with a gun, but I did walk through with a partially loaded magazine. STUPID! I really did check the bag, but missed that pocket I guess. So, I got pulled aside. They were very nice, said I had to surrender the ammo to Nashville police. It was less than 11 rounds, any more and I would have had to surrender it to Federal Marshall. They gave me the option to return the magazine to my vehicle, but I decided it wasn't worth the hassle of rushing to get back on the flight. Call it a "Moron Tax" So when you read these stories of people taking things through TSA and think "that won't happen to me", think again and double check.1 point

Yeah I didn't even know them. I saw that they weren't dangerous handling theirs so I let them have a go at the Saiga12 and 20 round drum.1 point

Emergency situations I get, but it's not a situation of immediate response every time a cop goes to a place of business. Often it's just a routine call, courtesy patrol or them coming to take a statement after something happens. You mentioned official business being okay for them to use the HP spot. Official business covers a lot of daily activity and more often than not I'd wager, there isn't a time sensitive need for them to be in the HP spot. Not saying all cops do this, in fact, I can only recall seeing a cruizer in a HP spot a few times, but wrong is wrong no matter how often it occurs.1 point

What proof is there that the letter is an official letter. I have no proof that this letter is real . I do have a copy of a letter by a company who sells the product that says it is OK . This could be someone just doing an early April fools joke . But I always said as soon as I buy one they will change everything . I bought 2 and a Slide Fire . I guess that will be next .1 point

Respect is lost on people. I'm not saying that myself being the sweet innocent Choir boy I am would do anything, but I know a.... friend who has a habit of removing valve cores from tires on vehicles without a tag or placard in HC spots. No permanent damage, but I bet its a lot more time consuming trying to figure out how to refill that flat tire than that 50' walk you saved yourself by thinking you were entitled and parking there.1 point

I know exactly were your coming about dolo. I am legally handicapped and they offered me a placard and I requested a permanent license for my Jeep Cherokee and handed the the doctors letter and got my license plate. With that said I have the same issue as you do when it comes to parking at Krogers 99 times out of 100, all the HC spaces are full. One day when my legs were no bothering me to much I actually walked through every space and looked to see if the vehicle had an HC plaque or an HC license plate on the vehicle of the 30 HC places Kroger has to vehicles has plates and all the rest had plaques hanging from mirror or just laying on the dash. I have several friends that have the plaques because they will carry their elderly parent or handicap member of family with them. I found one parked in a handicap space and watched as she approached her vehicle and she was by herself. The handicap person in her family was not with her. I asked her why she parked in that space when her mother was not with her? She began babbling some excuses and got in her car and left. Her husband called me that evening about my concern and I told him. Needless to say it was not a close friendship and it is no friendship now. It ended with him telling me to mind my own business. I thought I was considering I am legally handicapped and his wife is not. I waited till I got my chance and I saw him park in a handicapped space in his truck and put a plaque on his mirror and made my move. I called Gallatin P.D. and they sent out a motorcycle officer to see me. I told him why I called him and he said I understand your concern and we will see if he is legal. About 15 minutes later I was out of sight when he came out. The officer approached him and ask him for his ID DL. He then ask him if he was handicapped and he said no, but his mother in law is. The officer ask him if she was still in the store and he said no, she was not with him. The fine signs in Kroger Parking lots are $250.00. I sat and watched him sign his big fat ticket. I know he was looking to see if I was watching. I was not in my Jeep but I was there. I then went in along with the officer to speak with the kroger Manager as the officer told the manager that they had been receiving a few complaints so for the next few days he would be patrolling their lot and probably writing some tickets and the Manager thanked him because he knew there was issues and he wanted to do something about it. The use of the plaques by relatives that are not handicapped with out that person in the vehicle is an automatic ticket if caught. I got a chance to speak with that officer about a month later and he said he wrote 67 tickets in 5 days for the same violations and was making plans for another 5 days soon. I am not having as much trouble locating a handicap parking place there any more. Yea, I'm the guy your friends warned you about............................... :rofl:1 point

I talked to him today and he was upset with the timing but not me standing behind my sale. After talking about it he was happy about what I did and happy he has some one who stands up like this for a product on my own. So all good there. He is also ordaining us some cleaning kits to either sell with guns or to throw into a deal to make it a better sale. And we are working out a way to make sure this does not happen again. Including maybe setting up a test firing of the used guns we have just brought in so we can make sure all is working. Either way we are working it out and everyone input is being put to use. Thank you1 point
