I debated on whether to post this or not, but here goes. This is not to imply that folks on here act irresponsibly but rather offer up an option to counteract those that do. The video may not make sense until the end so be sure to watch all of it. [media]https://youtu.be/JMs7dkdO4YY[media] Saving one dog will not change the world, but for that one dog the world will be forever changed. My wife and I help foster rescued dogs and it has been a joy to help dogs find a new home. Along the way three have found a permanent home with us. :) Don't think you can only get "older" dogs through a rescue group. Right now we are fostering a rescued female that was pregnant until her 3 pups get adopted. The last 8 weeks have been an amazing journey from seeing their birth until now. We are guessing they will be ready to adopt in about another week since they were so small at birth. (Mom only weighs about 8 lbs.) Here's a photo of them several weeks ago. So in closing, please consider adopting a rescued dog that needs a second chance at life. :) Here's the rescue group we volunteer with. http://proverbs1210rescue.org8 points

So, some of you saw my feeble attempt at getting some video with a cheap quadcopter I bought to play with. My flying wasn't pretty, but the video wasn't terrible (meaning quality of image) considering the cost. However, it did teach me one thing, and that is simply, Quad's are awesome. Fast forward a month and my lack of self control has me a new quad that is simply amazing. This is only my second attempt at making a video by editing video segments and adding audio, but I think it turned out pretty well. This quad has a camera attached that will shoot in 4k and take 12MB pictures. It is also night and day easier to fly. A couple of things I learned along the way for anyone interested. While cheap quad's are great for learning, the are very difficult to fly in a steady fashion. You will get better with them, but they will never allow you to get great video. You can get a cheap quad for $60 or less that will let you learn the basics, but you will quickly want to upgrade after you start playing with them. There is some pretty amazing technology out there now. I purchased the latest DJI Phantom 3 which is the quad you see them show a lot on TV. It's kind of like the AR/Glock of the Quad world. When you hear of an accident with a quad, no matter what one it was, they show a picture of a Phantom. If anyone is interested in learning a bit more, I would be glad to discuss it. First, a pic of the quad. A pic from about 400ft above my friends house. A pic of the Natchez Parkway Bridge And last, the video I did. Not terrible for my third flight and 2nd video ever made. It was all filmed this morning. https://youtu.be/ACswd_D1ofc6 points

By all means, if that's me talking about committing a crime, then the admin can send me a pm. I know you have no idea who I am. I don't really care if you ever do. I have had dozens of TGO members under my roof, shoot at my house, and come learn blacksmithing in my shop. I would give a stranger the shirt of my back and the food off my plate to help them. But I was raised different than most. I was raised that your word means something, you take your hat off at the table, you call people Sir and Ma'am, and you don't desecrate a flag. If someone insults my wife or my mother they will either apologize or I will most likely put them in the hospital. If I catch someone beating a dog, horse, etc, I am going to return the favor. If I catch someone beating a woman or a child I'm going to kill them. And I'll stand before a judge, jury and Almighty God and say the same thing. You don't insult people, you don't hurt those who can't defend themsleves, you don't lie, cheat or steal. Burning a flag was your question, but your intent was to start a fight. That's fine by me. I've been around far to long to fight on the internet. I don't really care if you agree or disagree with my values. But it pays to remember that some people live by the law of what's right or wrong, not what some paid off judge decides. I'll gladly face any consequences for my actions, and answer for them. But I'll die knowing I stood for something and didn't compromise my values for some piece of garbage who thinks torching a flag is perfectly ok. It also pays to remember that carrying a gun doesn't automatically make you a badass. There are those that will make you eat that gun, holster and all.5 points

Their actions still have consequences. It may not be from the government, but if I go to jail for stomping the hell out of some moron burning a flag, I'm ok with that. If you think I need a mental evaluation that's fine. The Marine Corps gave me one when I was Honorably Discharged and dint find anything wrong. Unlike what Mama may have told you, Violence does solve problems. This country would be a hell of a lot better place to live if assholes still got their guts stomped out for being idiots. Instead we pander to them, forcing our already overloaded courts to make decesion on whether something such as flag burning is covered by the 1st amendment. I said it before and I'll say it again. I take burning or stomping that flag as a personal insult, both to myself, to my best friend and his widow and orphans, and to every American who has been brought home draped under it. I am a violent person when I need to be, what's right is right, what's wrong is wrong. No matter what the government says4 points

This thread seems extremely useless. Closing it down and making note that so far I'm not seeing much firearms related content from the OP, but rather content intended to incite discord. Not a good thing for me to be making note of. Sent from my GT-N5110 using Tapatalk3 points

I would rather have Spots by my side to help me solve any problem than most others. He is not dangerous unless there is a need to be. Funny how you talk about how flag burning is free speech yet when someone says something you don't like you say he should be committed. He has made no threats towards you so who are you to say he needs to be committed? As much as you seem to dislike Spots for what he has said you doing the exact same thing. As I said their are consequences for everyone involved. If someone burns a flag and their ass gets beat then, right or wrong, that is a consequence. The person doing the beating will likely find themselves in jail for doing it and that is their consequence. If getting an ass beating is worth it to burn the flag then so be it. And if going to jail is worth beating the flag burners ass then so be it. The only person that can determine if it is worth it is the person suffering the consequences.3 points

Really? You want to hide behind a code of conduct? I’m not a moderator, don’t like to see threads locked, and didn’t sleep at a Holiday Inn last night, but I’m pretty sure that reopening a topic that has been locked and calling someone a mental case because you don’t like their comments is also a violation. This didn’t turn into a cop bashing thread as you hoped, but went another direction. There are more Patriots here than cops so good luck with the results. You reopened this topic for drama; you got it. I don’t think anyone has said anything yet to require the locking of this thread. As David once said he tends to let people look like fools rather than close a thread; that is what is happening right now.3 points

Talking about committing a crime would be a direct statement or threat. If you mean where Spots said "if I go to jail for stomping the hell out of some moron burning a flag, I'm ok with that.", that really isn't a threat/admission of guilt. It's more of a hypothetical. It seems like you're kinda being passive aggressive and wanting to start verbal disagreements, which is ok. Totally ok. But if you're going to go down a road, make sure you are choosing the right path. You're talking about a veteran. You're saying some pretty not nice things to him. Sure, there's some attitude from time to time on here. Yes, the men can be a bit catty and argumentative. But I bet they would all stick up for Spots in a heart beat. Especially to a newb like you. Take a chill pill and get some rest. You'll feel better in the morning.3 points

And while people think they can say anything they want under the guise of "freedom of speech" I will say they cannot. The protections afforded someone under the First Amendment is only there to protect the individual from the government, it does not protect them from another private party. Because I am not a government agency I can limit people's right to free speech on my property. If I don't like what you are saying I do not have to listen to it and can tell someone to either quit or leave my property. No one has the right to say whatever they want whenever they want, especially on private property. And one must realize that even though they may be allowed to say what they want under the guise of "free speech" there are consequences for what they say, both good and bad, and there should be. One must weigh the consequences to determine if the personal reward of saying what they want outweighs the risks. For most people the risks are far too great to speak their mind most of the time. Everyone weighs those decisions every day and just because someone may have a right to say something does not mean they will not suffer the consequences for what they chose to say. Just because someone has the right to say something does not mean they are exempt from the consequences and if those consequences break the law then they will have to deal with their own set of consequences for their actions. I can guarantee there is not a single person on this board who speaks their mind 100% of the time without weighing the consequences.3 points

I'm a Marine vet, and support free speech. Free speech is great. Call me whatever you want, insult vets, cops , and everyone else etc. But everytime you step on that flag all I can see is you stepping on the one who draped my best friends coffin, and that was handed to a 22 yr old widow in front of their two children. So yeah, I'm probably gonna get a little emotional and bust somebodies skull if they stomp that flag. Like I said I would die for that flag. Going to jail for it ain't shit. Oh. And I support gay married couples right to protect their pot plants with full auto, suppressed 10" AR-15's and drink 64 Oz big gulp sodas.3 points

A Lonely Man on a Beach A man washed up on a beach after a shipwreck. Only a sheep and a sheepdog were washed-up with him. After looking around, he realized that they were stranded on a deserted island. After being there awhile, he got into the habit of taking his two animal companions to the beach every evening to watch the sunset. One particular evening, the sky was a fiery red with beautiful cirrus clouds, the breeze was warm and gentle - a perfect night for romance. As they sat there, the sheep started looking better and better to the lonely man. Soon, he leaned over to the sheep and put his arm around it. The sheepdog, ever-protective of the sheep, growled fiercely until the man took his arm from around the sheep. After that, the three of them continued to enjoy the sunsets together, but there was no more cuddling. A few weeks passed-by and, lo and behold, there was another shipwreck. The only survivor was Hillary Clinton. That evening, the man brought Hillary to the evening beach ritual. It was another beautiful evening - red sky, cirrus clouds, a warm and gentle breeze - perfect for a night of romance. Pretty soon, the man started to get those feelings again. He fought the urges as long as he could but he finally gave-in and leaned over to Hillary and told her he hadn't had sex for months. Hillary batted her eyelashes and asked if there was anything she could do for him. He said, 'Take the dog for a walk .'2 points

The last couple of dogs we have gotten have been older dogs whose owners have passed or had to give them up. Apparently no one wants an old dog and most are just put down. My wife has made it her mission to adopt older dogs and make their last years as good as possible. We have spent a fortune on some of them, but it has been worth it.2 points

I don't agree with it, but I wouldn't do more than tell him to GTFO of dodge while I talk to the cops either. ;) Guess that makes me a big ole hypocrite doesn't it.2 points

So, I recently went on a golf trip with a bunch of buddies to Orlando, FL. While we were there, I insisted on taking a trip to Randall Made Knives to visit the shop and museum. Wow!! Totally impressed. Of course, I have always been a fan of these knives but it was really nice to visit the place. The museum was awesome. Thousands of knives on display...including Bill Scagel knives. For those who know the story, it was a Scagel knife that started Bo Randall on the trek to build the best possible knife. There are letters from Ronald Reagan during WWII thanking Bo for the knife sent to him. I was in awe. While there, they were pulling out some knives for sale to the general public. Evidently, they have situations where the original orderer of the knife is no longer available to receive delivery (eg., died, moved, etc.) Considering it takes Randall Made nearly 5 years to deliver a knife, this isn't surprising. Needless to say, I bought a couple. Randall Made Sign: Randall Made (I think this was Bo's home): The Museum: Trailblazer with copper bolster: Hunter Model:1 point

Welcome back, Shawn. Choice of a dealer covers many things, but first, what part of town are you in? I personally pick closest first. Then as you learn the different shops, you can get the feel of who you want to deal with. What their transfer prices are, how they treat you as a browser and as a customer, and whether or not you like the shop and the people there.1 point

So are you getting a live feed from the camera so you know what the camera is seeing or does it just record to be watched later? - Yes, I get a live feed to my iPad which is connected to the controller. So what is the maximum control distance from the quad? - 1.2 miles is what they say, but with a good line of sight guys have went almost 2 miles. Do you get some kind of warning to keep you from going out of range? - You do, but it also has a return to home feature, so if you lose connectivity, it will come back on its own.1 point

My wife had gone to look for a new companion for me after our Chow had to be euthanized. She said Molly was one of several puppys in the cages she looked in. As she picked up each one, Molly peed on her. Like taking ownership. Susan laughed and brought her home. Never a regret.1 point

Since my MI CPL is no longer valid here in TN both the wife and I will be going do the HCP class together. I found an instructor in Tazewell which is fairly close to where we live and in order to accommodate my work schedule the instructor has holding a private class for me; this seemed like an ideal time for the wife too so we are doing it together....1 point

We've been talking about being willing to accept the consequences for flag stomping, and it occurred to me that these consequences could last a lifetime in today's digital age. I have been in a position where I have been able to hire people for really good, well paying jobs. The first thing I do when considering interviewing someone is to do a quick Google or Facebook search on them. If I were to see a video of someone doing this, or even "liking" a post, I would immediately disqualify them. You may be the smartest person for the job, but you know what, I don't like you. You make a choice, and so do I. The good / bad thing about the Internet, is this kind of stuff is forever. You think you're being clever, or making a statement now while you're young or in college. Wait until you're 30 and see how the world really works, and you want to provide for your own kids. If I'm making the decision, those actions just cost you dearly. I saw one video of a young girl doing some kind of dance move stomp on the flag. She had an ass the size of Texas and I kept thinking that living in America she was able to have a nice, cushy life with (relatively) no worries, and sit around getting fat. She probably never in her life stepped up to help someone else, or try to make this country a better place, only caring about herself, and what she could get. I occurred to me that the only patriotic moments she may have ever had were saying God Bless America, right after stuffing a bag of Twinkies down her mouth.1 point

This was 100% human error. The safety feature they are trying to demonstrate is the pedestrian detection system. The bad part was the vehicle in the video wasn't equipped with it. So the guy was basically standing in front of what he thought was an unloaded gun. Some Volvo cars do have "park assist" but that video didn't have anything to do with parking. I've used the park assist feature (for parallel parking) and the collision avoidance system multiple times with zero failures.1 point

I snagged one of these at Walmart a week or so ago. It is pretty great for the price. Lots of MOLLE, a bunch of pockets, some of them huge. And you can strap the rifle in. I used some padding I had an I can fit two rifles in with ease. As well as a couple hundred rounds of ammo and a dozen or so magazines. http://www.walmart.com/ip/Fieldline-Tactical-43-Cobra-Gun-Case-Black/263573721 point

Go to the walmarts and buy 2 or 3 of the cheap pool mattresses/floats/whatever they're called. That'll get you and your gear across a body of water. They're light and cheap. Pretty durable too. I used one as a camp pad most of one summer and it held up for several months.1 point

You have no position on these questions? Well… it would be a stupid stand for them to take. A lot would depend on how much the press reported it and how they spun it. Of course some people would be upset, there would probably be violence. It would be a small group. Why would they want The Reconquista and have what they have in Mexico, when they are doing a great job of taking the Southwest back with us footing the bill. If they turn it into a weapons intimidations issue; they will lose or be gone.1 point

Things like this make my head hurt. I keep getting confused on the Muslim / Islam programs. If you are a Muslim does that automatically make you a terrorist? If you are a believer in Islam but not a Muslim are you a terrorist? Can you be a believer in Islam and the Islamic faith and not be a Muslim? Is there a line between them that I don't see and if so can someone explain it to me. I have never felt that all people of Islamic faith are terrorists. How do you tell them apart? To see a person from any of the middle East nations, does that mean they are automatically a terrorist? Sorry but I have always had an issue with understanding this? I guess it is the old man Syndrome in me....................... :shrug:1 point
