  1. It appears to me that the statement "it went off while I was cleaning it" is usually a lie to cover the fact that someone pulled the trigger while playing with the gun. Just my opinion.

  4. A J-Frame Smith either OWB or pocket carry. I have had several of my fellow HCP holders explain to me that I stand no chance against the ISIS battle group that inevitably assaults my neighborhood Walmart. Whereas, they with their neato double column semi-autos will be able to save the day by taking out the entire ISIS organization with two extra magazines of 9MM. This is based on their combat experience at some neat school at some pistol range. I spent a total of 60 months in combat in VietNam (4 Tours) with the USMC so I am in no position to question their superior logic. I only need 5 shots to shoot the dumb SOB that goes looking for me and finds my hiding place.

  5. Guys, I gave Sam a heads up already but thought it was important for you all to know, this guy is a fraud. He took classes for less than two weeks at the TrickyNicky Tactical Somersault Assault Training Academy Dojo and is now attempting to use my carefully cultivated techniques to open his own school. I'm all for the free market, but his training was incomplete. We hadn't even covered low drag- high impact cartwheels yet  How does he expect to give people the value for their monies without knowing my patented backwards shotgun roll? You all have been warned, if you want QUALITY buffoonery, er, training, look no further than the TNTSATAD. TGOers enjoy free parking validation (I'll tell my neighbors it's cool if you park on their lawn) and a complementary after workout self-rubdown (some alone time in the shower) and so many more perks your heads would explode like some kinda exploding things if you attempted to take it all in in one sitting. Group rates available.

  8. Are you going to do a FTF only or offer shipping. The majority of everyday carry knives will fit in a small flat rate box. I think you'd be justified in a little premium for that on top of the $6 it costs to ship it. Gas and time to and fro ain't free. I'd be in for it. My current knife sharpener is the fellar what sets up in the back of the local gun show. Wait, are you really up for sharpening all the cheap knock offs we cheap/poor bastards carry? Kinda be like a Porche mechanic tuning up a Ford Tempo.

  9. Guys,   I am strongly considering buying a very expensive sharpening system that I saw at last years Blade show,   If after posting many pictures of my personal knives Sharpened laser sharp and Mirror polished edge, would any of you consider paying a small fee for this service if I offer it?       Just food for thought as I will buy the system anyway and on  my offtime do this quite frequently

As karma would have it one our resident CPD detectives was there and overheard him, and bagged him for impersonating an officer. I know we usually rag on guys/gals with their HCP "badges" but this was STUPID...granted he IS from Kentucky lol. You can buy leveling kits that will lift the front end 2" or so. Either way I doubt with that little change you will see any performance differences. Speedometer might read off a few mph

  18. Here are pics of Liz, she is currently 5.5 weeks and will not be available for adoption for a while. At least until she is 12 weeks old: Here is Liz's brother Red, same for him as far as age and date of availability! Also, just wanted to remind you about Donald Ressler too. He is currently 9 weeks old and 15 lbs, he can be available in 3 weeks. If you are interested in any of the puppies you see here, please email me at predsgirl33@gmail.com (please include your TGO handle) and I will gladly send you an adoption application. There will be adoption fees for all the puppies which will just be the cost of their discounted vetting. This in turn allows us to pull more dogs to save their lives. Also, for those contributing funds, please know that anything over the goal will go directly to the rescue and helping us pull more dogs/puppies as we send these ones off to new homes.

  19. In one of my former cars, I could wedge a gun in a Remora in the space on the right side of the driver's seat.  Having seen a video of a guy doing somersaults wearing a Remora, I wondered if the gun would stay in place in a rollover.     Recently, I tried the same method in my wife's new Outback.  The gun was secure, but I noticed there was an airbag tag on the right side of the seat; who knows what would have happened if it deployed while the gun was there.  I learned that day that there are not many places in an Outback for a full-size 1911.  I have to remove the huge owner's manual from the glove compartment to fit the gun in there.

  25. It's worth noting that Edleys in East Nashville is vastly surperior to their location on 8th I think it is. I worked across the street from their East location for 2 years and would frequently eat there multiple times a week. Always had good eats. Went to the other location a handfull of times and never was impresssed.   Go into any other bbq joint that gets mentioned and try ordering something off the wall like a pulled pork sandwich with jaleneo ranch sauce, pimentto cheese, and a fried egg. See what happens. Best case scenario the counter clerk will look at you like an imbicile and utter 'that's not on the menu...'   You know what happens at Edleys?   You have a 100%chance of getting a tasty meal, and a 50%chance at getting your food delivered by the main cook along with a fist bump.

  26. If you are under 40, enjoy and modify and do what you want, its only money and have fun.  If you are over 40, keep it OEM, use the money for other purposes.  OEM to me is the only way to go.  I modified too many things when I was young, its no longer a draw card to me.  The art of getting old.

  28. On bucket seats or with a split 60/40 bench seat I use a holster on the righthand side of the drivers seat. I've tied the holster off to the front of the lower seatbelt assy arm and I've velcroed it to the side of the seat. But overall I try to keep it out of sight of inquisitive eyes with a hat, or bandanna masking it. The magnet setup looks good but where's that gun going to go in a serious car crash?

  29. Shoot about 200rds to work that copper lube in then do a full strip and wipe everything down. To include the striker assembly, bore brush and swab the barrel and take compressed air to the trigger assembly too I like polishing up the guide rails and the trigger bar with 800grit sandpaper as well - the Glock 43s I had had a really crunchy uptake to them. I like using Hoppes as a lube or the generic multiuse oil you can get at Lowes. Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk

  31.   I sort of agree with you on that, buddy. But I had one and it really isn't bad. I think, in my uninformed opinion, Sig's DAK trigger is meant to combine the safety advantages of a SA/DA pistol and have the short pull of a striker fired pistol. I may well be wrong in this, so I'm prepared to be schooled on it.   But the DAK guns are really nice to shoot. I just prefer the striker models that are so much more prevalent these days.   Now as far as Sig and their seemingly 100's of variants in each model...I hear and agree. It's almost impossible to keep up with them.   I've had a few Sigs, but don't seem to keep them. Mostly because of the size and weight. I know that is an advantage in firing a lot and keeping down recoil fatigue, but I just can't stay with them. Usually. lol   I do LOVE my Sig 1911's. I have 3 now and just can't part with them.  An RCS for carry. A Nightmare for looks. lol And a TacOps for home and range.   Not saying I don't like and have other brands, but the 1911 are really pretty awesome. JMO. lol   OK, sorry for the length. I do get carried away easily. As you all know from my rep and some meets.

  32.     I'm not sure there is, its just metal.  With a big enough saw you can cut anything.  Of course the thicker the better, but if they have all day or all night, I can't imagine it would matter.  I agree about the alarm.  It's a huge step in protecting not only your selves but you belongings.  With an alarm they would have had 10-15mins at most, probably less than 10 if its in town.  I have an alarm and never leave home without arming it.

  40. A guy walks into a bar and grabs a stool. He says to the bartender, "Hey bartender, wanna see something amazing?" Of course the barkeep replies in the affirmative and so the guy reaches in his bag and pulls out a tiny piano. Then a little guy walks out, sits down and starts playing Mozart.   The bartender is awestruck and asks, "Where the heck did you get that?"   "I have a genie."   Incredulous, the bartender scoffs.   The guy says, "No, really, I'll show you," and whips out a lamp, rubs it, and sure enough, out pops a genie. The guy instructs the genie to grant the bartender a wish. The bartenders says, "Ok, I wish I had a million bucks."   Just then, the front door opens and in waddles a duck, followed by another, then another, and so on.   The bartender screams, "You idiot, I said a million bucks not a million ducks!"   The guy says, "Oh yea, I forgot to mention he's a little hard of hearing. Do you really think I wished for a 9 inch pianist?"

  41. They're really two different use cases.  The AR10 could be a good hunting rifle, and has more legs than the 300, but it's a lot heavier rifle.  I wouldn't want to lug mine around the woods all day.   For pigs and deer, the 300 is more than adequate at the ranges you're most likely to encounter in Tennessee.  And, if you're going with 110gr or 120gr supersonic stuff, you can stretch it out further if you spend some time getting to know the rifle.  That said, I don't know that I've ever shot a pig that's been more than 100 meters away.  The terrain they prefer here in the South just isn't conducive to longer shots in most cases.

  42. One of the best freakin' "new" artists I've heard in a long time... It's like 1960's Stax/Volt Memphis Soul sound all over again... In fact the album was recorded at the rebuilt Stax Studio, and man, did they nail "the sound".   https://youtu.be/1iAYhQsQhSY   https://youtu.be/AzqmVa6n-es

  45.   Not a joke and it's not terribly uncommon to see these priced like this.  Colt Snake guns have been on an unexplained ( In my Opinion) inflated price trend for a few years now.  I think these prices are at or about peak and we should see a downward trend in the next couple of years.  This is just my opinion and so I could be totally wrong.

  46. Currently carry a S&W model 38, prior to that it was a S&W model 36-2. Two Bianchi speed strips in my pocket. My brother has tried to convince me to convert to the Glock model 26. Actually is smaller than my current carry, but I just don't care for Glocks. Guess I'm just old school. Capacity is not a concern.

  47. Remington has become more interested in building their corporate portfolio than building a quality product. The problem with current Marlins IS Remington. Remington blows. You take their flag ship: the 700. Comparing two 700's side by side, one made today and one made in say, 1960. Its the same difference in a Wilson Combat and a High Point. Both very serviceable and all, but really.... If you find yourself shopping for a Marlin lever gun, do your best to find one made in the 50's. They are arguably the best made Marlins out there....ever.

  48. I always thought I was happy with my BCG's and this Nib stuff was hogwash. After using a Nib carrier and bolt I can definitely see the benefits. Cleaning is much quicker and easier. I can't say that they "run" any better than a mil spec, but they making the cleaning process much quicker to me.
