  1. Well I went and took the survey they sent me.Figured that could be the least I could do since they ask my views. Below was what I made in a couple reply sections that had. The question is above and the reply is below. Please share your feedback with Dan. The more detail, the better. My Time with your employee was adequate and he did all I requested of him. He closed all of my accounts for me. What additional information would you like to share with us? I am leaving BOA for several reasons and the main one is BOA's decision to ask all Firearms manufacturers that have been doing with BOA have been asked to take their banking business else where. Except you are willing to LOAN them money but you don't want their banking business. I am an American and I live by the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. With a bank title such as Bank of America one would be led to believe your organization would also be loyal to the Constitution but evidently it is in name only in your case. Now with that said I have other reasons for leaving also. Service at your branch banks has declined and you no longer have full time tellers at your drive up windows where I did most of my banking due to the fact I am handicapped. Some times I would be in line up to 30 minutes waiting for service. You also decided that I no longer should receive free checks even though I am on a fixed income and handicapped and been a loyal customer of yours for at the time 15 years. With that said, I can deal with all the minor little issues but when you began turning your back on the Constitution and companies that are a part of it being a 2nd Amendment operated companies you also turned your back on me and my beliefs. I was not a customer to you. I was just a number!!!

  4. I have studied up on setting the friction rings, and I have them correctly set for heavy loads. This was a pretty good diagram I located on-line. Still puzzled on the 'suggestion' for running with NO brake with the Cutts Compensator... not on THIS gun!

  6. Got my 380 EZ w/o thumb safety at Academy for 329.99 plus tax and background. Great ergonomics, easy to rack the slide, easy to load the magazines and functioned flawlessly with American Eagle. At this point accuracy won't get you to the finish line at Camp Perry. That is with a 35 yr old and 63 yr old shooting this thing and both of us can shoot a handgun reasonably well. But it functions so well, carries so easy and at 7 yrds as long as it is in the pie plate as fast as you can pull the trigger who cares? However, I am going to keep shooting this with various ammo and after 500 or so rds give an accuracy assessment. But at save your ass distance it will work. I am "amped" up to get my wife on this with her basal thumb arthritis. This will likely be my go to bedside handgun as age strips away strength and ability. Much easier to shoot than even a steel J-frame with .38 wadcutters. I wish they made this in .32ACP.

  7. Just for the record and future reference since this thread seems to have taken a productive turn: Typically I do not tolerate this sort of thread being posted to take a moderator to task for their actions. In the future, if I get to a thread like this before another moderator does, I will ban the person responsible for it without question, without second chance, and certainly without a PM. As MacGyver said, we trust our moderators. If they make a mistake, they generally own it and we fix the problem. But TGO is not a democracy and mob-rule does not hold water here. I won't tolerate it and I won't allow the 100% volunteer staff to be called-down publicly by someone that they moderated for doing what they felt was out of line with our forum Rules. This might be a good place for me to post these links, for everyone's benefit. They appear at the bottom of every page. TGO Rules and Guidelines TGO Registration Terms

  8. Mac, I guess I'm confused here. On the " where to go in Maine" thread, Chucktshoes referred to Canadians crossing the border as " Snow Mexicans". Is this OK?

  9. Anyone here have a Security 9 with a high round count and usage ? I am just seeing how they are doing. Any problems ? How is function ? Any premature rust on them ? I was about to get one back the first of this year but held off in case there were any teething problems.

  10. I haven't been able to check out the compact version, but my dad picked up a brand new Shield 2.0 sub compact with Crimson Trace laser at Smoky Mountain Guns & Ammo (Smoky Mtn. Knife Works) yesterday for $299. We called this evening & they said they have 174 left in stock at that price so a friend & I are heading over to Sevierville in the morning so he can buy one. After feeling the grip & trigger of the one my dad got, I may be bringing one home too.

  12. I had snap on and dewalt 18v and 20v tools. All were fantastic. Got some free 22v hilti tools and they are amazing (More expensive, but been using them for years and love them.) But right now, all my work tools are milwaukee. They are cheaper and got a better warranty than snap on. and its nice only needing one charger for everything. The first is what I had, and the last two are before I got a new tool box. I have even more now.

  13. That's pretty damned funny! Years ago I ran a forum for performance car enthusiasts here in Nashville. Halloween and New Years Eve parties with the moderating team meant "drunken bannings" which were exactly what they sounded like. Folks got their avatars changed to some really questionable things, temporarily, during the process. It was all in good fun and the members absolutely loved it. Of course, that was back before my kids and before I was trying to be a responsible adult.

  16. Folks here know I moved from BOA yesterday and went to Wilson Bank & Trust but to show you how on top of their game BOA is they sent me to emails yesterday. 1 was an account alert warning me that my account balance had dropped below $25 dollars. The other one was requesting I fill out a survey about how well I enjoyed my visit to the bank yesterday? I am going to not worry about the first one but I am going to do the survey I think...............

  17. yea, I was kind of surprised that I have a lady do most of the paper work to get me set up but still needed to complete a few things so went back the next day and the lady was off that day. I went over and sat down waiting for another person to get free and another lady came up to me and said Hi Mr. Richards. Is there something I can assist you with. I was caught a tad off guard that this lady called me by my name. I ask if Edie was working and she told me she was off and the new lady took care of the issues I had that day in about 20 minutes and at that point I was totally WB&T customer. I got an email from BOA today telling me that if I had anything outstanding and it was presented to the bank for payment they would re-open my account, return what ever was presented as insufficient Funds and charge me a $29.00 transaction fee. I laughed at it and thought yea I guess because I was stupid enough to do business with you for 18+ years I would be stupid enough to close an account with outstanding items not cleared at the time I closed it. Sorry BOA , but I am not that stupid............

  18. I finally got around to picking up an M2.0 compact. I’m almost giddy with the thought of getting it to the range. It just feels so damn good in the hands.

  21. In my case, I replaced the whole fixture. I hadn’t planned to, but Lowe’s had a 4-bulb low profile fixture for about $30. A wholesale replacement added two bulbs and likely took less time than rewiring my existing fixtures would have required. I went into the project needing new ballasts anyway - and those were more expensive than the LED fixture at the time.

  22. My experience: Some do, but you have to test them carefully. Also, if you find a Promag that works well in your gun, that doesn't mean that another Promag for the same gun purchased two years later will be dependable. I think there may be considerable variation between production lots.

  23. If you're going to bypass the ballast they call this retrofit. Look for LED tubes that say "no ballast" or something along those lines. From there, you can further narrow it down to LED tubes that have power at one end or both. That's really a personal choice. I just thought it was faster and easier to only rewire power to one end of the fixture. Also, you'll want to pick the "color" light you prefer. Some don't like the super bright daylight look and opt for the softer color. As I mentioned before, some come with the new hangers and some don't. https://www.lowes.com/pd/Utilitech-32-W-Equivalent-Bright-White-T8-LED-Tube-Light-Bulb/1000083437

  24. Have you read up on how to use the friction rings to adjust to your load? If not, do that first. I can't think of how many folks do not realize that the Remington 11, Browning A5, and Savage 720 shotguns all need to have friction rings set correctly. When someone complains about stiff recoil, or short cycling, it's almost always a bad set-up of the friction rings. When Winchester refused to pay John Browning what he wanted for his shotgun design, he sold it to Remington, Savage, and FN. Originally, most parts for all three were interchangeable. As time went on, each manufacturer made changes that made their parts incompatible with the others. I have a set of Remington 11s in 12, 16, and 20ga that we're my grandfather's. They are pretty much the only shotguns I shoot any more.

  25. Let me get Graycrait to chime in. I shot his with grip safety and it functioned flawless and very minimal recoil.

  26. @Grunt67 first of all, I am glad you have decided to return. I did and still do believe that you do provide (and hopefully receive) value in this community. I stand by the call I made. Your posts in that thread were unacceptable. Where I did err was not addressing the subject privately. Not because it should always be handled so, but because in retrospect I believe it would have better served you and the community as a whole to do so. It would have avoided the ugliness then and prevented the existence of this thread altogether. For that I apologize. With the view of not making the same mistake twice, if you would like to discuss the circumstances of the prior incident, please PM me and I will be happy to discuss it with you.

  28. Not really a valid blanket statement methinks. Gray at best. A receiver under federal law is just that, neither a long gun or handgun, but simply "other firearm", regardless of its history or legality of future configuration. - OS

  29. Besides the political end that David mentions, underneath this is something bigger that the article misses on. They sort of allude to this letting the cat out of the bag as a 'threat' but what they might be missing is this isn't a game changer for us, it's a game changer for the world. We already have ready and steady access to firearms of high quality at a reasonable price. Subjugated people have just took a step forward in being able to protect themselves. In ten years, maybe twenty, the printing materials will only get better. Like cell phones, this stuff will spread far and wide. In fifteen years you might see 3d printers doing yeoman's work by generator power in the African bush. If everyone has at least the basic ability of self protection, the odds of your neighbor hacking up your family with a machete because they are from the wrong tribe goes way down. Corrupt and violent regimes may soon all have to worry that every citizen is the next Gavrilo Princip.

  30. So, I know the OP and know that he is operating on a very limited budget and has not owned any firearms himself. My advice to him offline was that if he wanted a DA/SA hammer-fired gun, to get a CZ P-07 since the cost is sub $400 and they have good resale value and aftermarket support. Holsters are relatively easy to come by, magazines aren't difficult to find, and it eats cheap 9mm without any problems. There aren't many reasons to pick a Jericho unless you are just an enthusiast of Israeli weapons or think it looks cool because of appearances in movies, etc. He mentioned an anime series. Anime features aircraft carriers and battleships flying through space, and robots that transform into things. Japanese cartoons aren't where I am going to find my inspiration to buy a gun. The idea that it shoots 41AE is almost as esoteric a consideration as the notion of buying a Jericho in the first place. Literally no one shoots it and I would be shocked to find that ammo on the shelf of many (any?) local stores. Unless you're bench-loading your own ammo... why would this make sense? If you want a ridiculous cartridge based on the .10mm/.40SW case, at last go quasi-mainstream with something chambered in 357SIG. My fear is that he's going to spend what little money he has on a brick that he'll have to carry in a nylon Uncle Mike's holster, and that he won't be able to easily recoup the $500 he plans to spend on it when he gets tired of it and realizes that anything else would have made more sense. The gun is ridiculous. Someone else said it wouldn't be their first, or likely second choice for a gun. I agree. The only people who would buy this are the people who already have everything else and want a novelty. And that's probably after they buy a Desert Eagle, which is equally absurd. I'd skip it. But what do I know?

  31. The shop should have told you what the Federal law is since they are in that business. Tennessee law doesn’t address it. The lower you have is a firearm and is treated as one; either rifle or handgun. That doesn’t mean a shipper will ship it for you when you notify them at the counter what you are shipping. They have their own rules that are not laws. If it’s a rifle lower your best bet is the United States Postal Service; if it’s a pistol lower they won’t mail it for a non-licensee. UPS might ship from you to an FFL for repair. It depends on who is at the counter. They will only accept firearms at a UPS facility counter. FedEx will ship it. I have sent firearms and when I told them it was going to an FFL for repair; they took it. The answers on the law and who can ship are on the ATF website. Shipper’s regulations are on the individual websites. Not after all that.... What are you having engraved on it that you can’t just have done here?

  33. I got my bulbs in yesterday. I converted the fixture just like in the picture @mike_f provided. I looked for a wiring diagram in my box, but did not find one. Regardless, there was a similar picture in the Amazon description, so I used that. It was very simple to re-wire the fixture. Did have to provide my own wire nuts, but I had plenty of those laying around. Once wired up, and rehung, the lights work wonderfully. I only put one bulb in each fixture, where there used to be two bulbs, and I think the light output is brighter than before. I only did the two fixtures in the garage, but the garage is very well lit now. The one thing I don't care for with these strip LED type lights, is they play tricks on my eyes. When I look up, or side to side, and my vision catches the light, I perceive the lights to jump around. I don't know if that makes sense, or if it happens to anyone else, but it is distracting. It does it to me on the under cabinet LED lighting I installed a few months ago too. Anyway, thanks to everyone here who offered advice and tips. I admit, I didn't even know these things existed till this thread. Just one more way TGO has made my life better. Thanks
