Tried a 380ACP S&W Bodyguard 2.0 at the Range recently. Liked it so well I purchased one. Plenty of .380 rounds meet the FBI Protocol these days. 10 and 12 round magazines. Light at 9 ounces. fits my medium hands well. Minimum recoil, easy slide operation. Any holster recommendations? Handgun Self-Defense Ammunition - Ballistic Testing Data2 points

I ride with an Arai full-face helmet. If you have a round punkin like mine, Arai is the best fit. For people with an oval head the Shoei's seem to be better. When I was racing I always wore AGV helmets, which I really like, too. Two things you should never go cheap on: your helmet and your tires. I've had a few KLR's over the years, and they're fantastic bikes! Since you're planning to use it to commute you might consider a pair of hard panniers for it. I see you already have a top-box! Congratulations on the new bike! Be sure to test that ABS so you know how it feels. Start with the rear brake and then work up to getting the front to activate. It'll definitely startle you when it activates unexpectedly, so it's wise to practice with it regularly.2 points

I don't know how people ride in anything but a full face helmet. Debris in your eyes is definitely an issue, particularly since I wear contacts. Shoei and Arai are top shelf and priced that way. I have an HJC that does the job and is comfortable. Best option is to find a bike shop or cycle gear and try on a bunch to see what fits best. Every brand is a little different. And do your future self a favor and wear ear plugs.2 points

Do you see a ridge around the base of the brass? This could indicated the ammo was fired one or more times out of handgun with an unsupported chamber (most famously in gen 3 or earlier Glocks). The brass is reshaped (stretched) in stage 1 or the reloading process, which makes this area weak. If that brass was reloaded and fired out of the same gun with an unsupported chamber you increase the chance of a blowout. This might also be noticeable by a case that is slightly longer than the others. When I bring home range brass, my first step is to toss out the ones with that Glock bulge just in case. I'd bet even a small company wouldn't take time to do that. I do use a fast powder (Bullseye mostly). So, I would also quit reloading if I couldn't control the powder charge any better than a 4.5 - 5.2 gr range. That's a 15% range of inconsistency, which is a lot IMHO.2 points

Modern tires are amazingly good in the rain, regardless of which bike they're on. So long as you stay away from track-day oriented tires, and you wouldn't be putting those on a DL anyway, you'll be fine. Just keep in mind that your stopping distances will be higher, and your lean angles will be a limited to a bit less than dry-weather riding. One thing to note about riding in the rain: even though your bike will handle it just fine, people on four wheels are going to have a MUCH tougher time seeing you. I've been stuck riding in some real gully-washers, and while the bike handled everything easily, I was in constant fear of being hit. Cars and trucks throw up a lot of spray from a wet road, and visibility goes way down. Just as bad is if it's raining lightly when the sun is shining brightly. The glare from the road will make you really hard to see. BTW, I'm selling my Ducati 749. Now, it's not exactly a commuter bike, but it'll make the trip a lot faster and a lot more fun than that DL.2 points

I hope you didn't purchase too much, because if it were mine I would pull every bullet, throw away the powder, and reload them with known powder. I would also carefully inspect every case, including running them through a go-no-go gage. 7% is an awful failure rate, and if 7% are failing you may find one that's going to do damage to your firearm or to you. It's been so long since you purchased the ammo that there is virtually no chance of finding the vendor. If it were me I'd cut my losses and not take the risk. Good luck!2 points

I’m bumping this back up. These are somewhat rare so I’m sticking to my price of $600 unless somebody has an interesting trade. Norinco Paratrooper type SKS. Very nice bluing and stock. Numbers match on bolt, receiver and stock. Mag is not numbered. Not really looking for anything in trade but will consider offers. Full disclosure: I have not fired this rifle since I bought it. I’m north of Nashville.1 point

I'd toss those cases too, just to be safe. 9mm brass is practically free.1 point

Took it out for a longer ride this evening and can confirm that a taller windshield will add to the comfort 100%. As it is now, the wind buffeting is pretty rough at highway speeds. Since my helmet is a few years out of date, I’ll likely just get a moderately price full face. After some research today, I agree with you folks. Full face is better for the health of my face.1 point

That is one gorgeous looking bike!!!! I love that color.1 point

I’m sort of partial to my head, so I wear a full face helmet. The ones we have weren’t prohibitively expensive, yet have multiple vents you can open and close, and even a separate tinted shield between the face shield and your face.1 point

Yep, its real. I remember seeing them when I was a kid. Can't remember for sure, but I think I might have had one. But bear in mind that way back then, smoking was normal. Everybody did it.1 point

I may be wrong but, Its my understanding that you may own a handgun at 18, however you can not legally buy one. Frankly, most private sellers at a gun show will be cautious about selling to a young person. I seriously doubt you will find one who will sell to someone under 21. If you want something for home defense, consider a shotgun which you can legally buy.1 point

You say moose and halibut, and I say caribou and salmon. Ling Cod too. Actually, they are all very good. I miss my dedicated freezer which was usually pretty full.1 point

You can't go wrong with the 92FS. The only thing I have found is the Italian made ones seem a little more accurate than the Maryland made ones.1 point

I can say that if you find one already set up pretty close to what you want, you'll be money ahead. Motorcycle parts and accessories are not cheap!1 point

Classic Arms has a sign on the door that says (paraphrasing) "if you smell like marijuana, we will not sell you a gun." Sign of the times.1 point

1978 Colt diamondback 22 LR, 4” blue. With original box and papers, plastic grip, extra wood grip not shown in pictures. Excellent condition. Asking $3000. General Comments: I’m new to this forum, refer to my Newbee introduction. I read through most of the FAQ’s on posting classifieds. I’ve been collecting guns for over 20years and its time to sell. Feel free to DM me with questions or want to talk over the phone ( message your phone number), I like to do business the old fashioned way. I have fair size collection and only post a few pics in the classifieds, if you need any specific picture or information feel free to contact me. Most of the guns I’ve bought I never end up shooting, goes into the safe, so I’m not very knowledgeable of the current pricing trends. My ask prices are mostly based on comparable(s) on gunbroker or other resources on the web. So I’m not going to be offended by comments on my pricing or knowledge of the guns. All serial numbers have been verified. ARE PRICES NEGOTIABLE? ABSOLUTELY WITHIN REASON. WILL ONLY SHIP TO FFL AT BUYER’S COST.1 point

my SFAR has been great. My Dad bought one and his has been good too. Lots of people that don't own them are parroting the people that have had issues. It's almost as light as my 6.8 SBR but absolutely smashes the hogs.1 point

Just a simple old $30 Timex. Keeps perfect time and its all I need. I've never been much for fancy watches or jewelry. You do realize that those of us who still wear a watch are dinosaurs don't you? Younger folks today just check the clock on their phone.1 point

I do not and never have carried open. I do not want anyone to know that I have a gun on me. Ever. Period. Your feelings may vary. I carry multiple ways. First and foremost I almost always have my Micro Eagle in my front left pocket. If it is cold or I am riding my motorcycle, as I wear a leather vest, I will wear a shoulder holster with a Glock 19 under my left arm with two additional magazines under my right arm. If it warm out and I am just wearing jeans and a shirt, I carry a Glock 19 in the waistband appendix carry with an extra magazine. It took some time to adjust to the fact that I have a gun pointed right at my junk, but honestly I am bummed that I didn't convert to this sooner. It is comfortable, easy to conceal and is rapidly accessible. I use a kydex Desantis Pegasus Pipe Hitter, I had to go look it up real quick so I could edit to add.1 point
