  2. Pending Gen 2.5 or 3, however you look at it. It's the Gen2 bolt release and the one piece 7-round tube. Langdon model with magpul furniture. Optic mount is the aimpoint micro footprint but irons still cowitness with the optic on. Added the cable management/heatshield from Langdon. Super nice shotgun but I've never shot it. I always say I will but I never do. So it needs a new home. More pictures among request. Immaculate condition. Asking $1500. Will entertain a partial trade of a Glock 34 Gen5.

  3. Every shooting is its own unique story. Nobody can predict how a person will react and there are many failure to stop horror stories. But, you never know what will happen until it actually does happen. I happen to like the 380. Then again, depending on the circumstances, I have carried .32s, .25s and even .22s. Its the Indian, not the arrow. Yes, they do make 9mms now that are as small as a 380. But I already have enough guns in both 9mm and 380. I see no reason to buy another that I don't really need. Further I have shot a couple of the small 9mms. I didn't like them and had trouble hitting with them. However, I can shoot a small 380 quite well. Another thing is that sometimes its more about the gun than the caliber. I happen to be very fond of the Walther PP series pistols. I have carried one of these in 380 and also in .32 acp. I've never felt under gunned because I shoot them quite well. My favorite 380 is the Colt Mustang. Small, easy to carry and its locked breech design makes recoil very manageable. I feel very well protected with it. Sure, some calibers are better than others. But caliber wars prove nothing. Few would recommend carrying a .22LR. Yet some people do and the lowly .22 has put a whole lot of people in the ground. Carry what you're comfortable with and the Hell with what anybody else says.

  5. I carry a 380, but I'm not a professional gunfighter like most internet forum guys. I shot for my HCP with a 22 revolver. I'm pretty thrifty too.

  6. The recall was a drop safety issue. They corrected that YEARS ago and anyone who still has a pre-recall gun in pre-recall state has no excuse for their gun being in that condition. The new claims are that some of these guns somehow go off on their own. I am very skeptical of it and never had any problems out of my P320 and it sat for months in my safe, holstered with a loaded chamber, and it never fired on its own. We may find that there are some tolerance stacking issues that affect a small percentage of these guns, or we may find out that human beings will almost always blame something other than themselves or their garbage-tier holsters when a negligent discharge occurs. I'm still waiting to see this problem (a.) reproduced and (b.) thoroughly analyzed. So far it hasn't happened.

  11. I bought a .380 to replace my EDC. I normally prefer a 45. Yep, I've seen all of the gel tests, read shooting reports, read the goat tests. Nothing beats a 357 mag for stopping threats of the two legged variety. Close second being 45 ACP. But the piece that goes with me always is a KelTec 32. I'm like bersaguy with this pistol, within 7 yards I don't miss point of aim. I won't try to quote any of what I have read, but shot placement is critical in stopping anti-social behavior. Which would I rather have in a gunfight? hands down my Taurus 608 with 125 grain SJHP. But I'm not carrying that every day and I don't shoot revolvers as well as semi-autos. All that said, I'm comfortable with my 32 and there aren't any micro 9s that are even close in size and weight. The 380 was only bought so hopefully the wife will learn and carry the 32. Someone once said the best gun to have in a gunfight is the one you have with you.

  13. David is wise, David is good. My Sig P-365 9mm made all of my .380s obsolete. Some people have physical limitations that may prevent them from being able to operate a small 9mm and to those people the .380 is an option. Since my reverse shoulder replacement surgery, I have gone back to .380s and I don't feel under gunned but roaming the recesses of Harris Teeter is about my limit these days.

  15. Also the Marine Corps is encountering uncommanded discharges. https://www.wearethemighty.com/military-news/sig-p320-engineering-review-recommended-in-marine-corps-report/ I am also reading from police firearms instructor/armorer that police agencies are starting to replace Sig 320 with Glock G45/47s , S&W M&Ps and Walther PDPs. And other police agencies have banned the Sig 320.

  16. Been an ongoing issue since the pistol came out. Several lawsuits have been successful, most dismissed. Sig issued a recall. Bad trigger made worse. Now they changed owner’s manual to carry with unloaded chamber. Several trainers forbid 320 use in class.

  24. One, carry and shoot what you are comfortable with. Meaning size, weight, manipulation and accuracy. Your example leaves out some important details; such as were all 5 shots in the torso? Abdominal shots may be survivable vs. 5 rounds in the high central chest area. Were some of the hits in an extremity? Again placement is key. If you can carry and shoot a larger caliber that would be my preference, but if not, be proficient with the one you carry.

  26. Back in the 60s, my father witnessed a shooting that resulted when two upstanding gentlemen had a disagreement. One pulled his .25 Auto and shot the other one point blank six times in the chest. The victim grabbed an elderly lady whom my father said began “singing a tune” (I bet she was!) and used her as a shield before his former comrade could shoot him a seventh time. The guy didn’t die, at least not right then. Perhaps a .40 or a .357 would have netted the same results, but I doubt it. The point is we can say many men have died by .22 or .25, or elephants and cape buffalo have been put down with a 7mm Mauser, but that doesn’t mean they won’t kill you before succumbing to their injuries. An unnecessarily marginal round just seems like a lousy idea, especially with the options available nowadays.

  27. To the OP, theres too many variables not mentioned to say with any finality, but at the end of the day it boils down to this: Insufficient placement wont work against a determined foe, regardless of caliber. An insufficient Caliber, though properly used, may still fail when a more capable caliber wouldn't. We do with that information what we will.

  28. I think that is something people forget sometimes. What works for one person may not work for others. Physical traits or limitations may dictate carrying something that one may deem inferior. I'm not a .380 fan but I won't discount the benefits for those that use that caliber. If you carry, carry it well.

  30. I think this is the answer for the twenty first century... At this point in history, there is nothing better, ounce per ounce, than a 9 mm. The ballistic guys have optimized this cartridge better than all the others put together. TGODavid... ".There are too many small and reliable 9mm micro-compact handguns today for me to give a second thought to carrying a .380 ACP. The days of having to choose small cartridges to get small guns are past us. ". That said, there will always be situations where God intervenes, and a yahoo survives what should have been a fatal shot, no matter the caliber. I've got an uncle ( now long gone to his heavenly home ) who wuz shot 3 times in the belly by my aunt in an argument with 148 grain wad cutters. He sat down on the couch and called an ambulance. I worked for him for years in my college days. He wuz a WW2 vet and a bricklayer. Tough as they come. I'm 78, gimped up, and carry a SIG 938 or a 38 special LCP every day, unless I'm goin thru " Bouganville ", then I grab an extra 9 mm of some flavor, or something bigger. I believe there is no better round than the 9 mm for daily carry, and nothin better than two of em for dangerous situations. All that from a revolver and 1911 snob that has burned thousands of big bore rounds over the years, n carried em all... leroy..

  31. I've had one for 5 years now with 0 issues. When they issued the recall a couple of years ago I mailed my pistol off for whatever fix they implemented. I continue to have no issues with mine. I don't carry it day to day (I've got my P365XL for that) so maybe that's why I've not had any issues. That said, this seems to come up often enough that it makes me think there's something there.

  36. Had a Dr appointment this morning at the M'boro Med Clinic. Went by Sportsman's Wearhouse and purchased the Bodyguard 2.0 380. Just run 125 rounds through it, 50 of which were reloads practice ammo. Had one failure to go into battery on the last round out of the 12 round mag on the first mag fired through the pistol. I use 5 different brands of H P ammo in it. This was old H P ammo I had previously carried in magazines 10 years ago that I had from changing my carry ammo every 6-8 months. The round that did not go into battery was old Federal 90 gr HP round. Never had another problem at all. I fired 25 rounds of new Hornady Critical Defense 90 Gr FXT which I plan to EDC in the Bodyguard. Purchased this ammo this morning a S W when I took the pistol. It was 31.00 + tax per 25 rounds. Plan to run another 25 rounds through it next outing. Guys, as you know ammo is not cheap any longer. When you purchase another new handgun the ammo to test it, to be sure it is reliable, can almost be half as high as the cost of the new pistol. I slow fired at a 10" hanging steel target, at 25 feet, and never missed a single round of the 125 I fired. I know 10" is a big target but the pistol shot to sights as best I could tell on steel. The sights are satisfactory for me so a + for that. Plenty accurate for me. The trigger was good so I give it a + on that. Did not bite my trigger finger so a + on that also. I am going to clean and lube it good and will fire another couple 100 rounds before betting my life on it. One thing I learned your grip needs to be thumbs forward because if you grip it high the slide is really really close to the thumb, when it cycles, on your support hand. It is a small pistol. Works well in the pocket in a Desants is Nemesis pocket holster on the weak side. I feel this pistol will work exceptionally well for the purpose of a backup to my 7 shot 357 revolver on the strong side when we travel. The Bodyguard is just enough smaller to be easy to carry and draw from the weak side than the Max 9 was. I had another 50 practice rounds with me, but my fingers got sore loading the magazines. The 12 rounder mag spring is stiffer and was hard to fill to the top. The 10 round loaded full every time. Next time I will take my upla mag loading tool. Shot enough through it that it became warm to the touch. Did not want to over heat the pistol. So far, satisfied. Edited to add; Just found an N 8 Tactical Tuckable IWB pancake holster, that fits the Bodyguard perfectly, if I ever want to IWB carry it. Thanks for the comments guys.

  42. The hulls I looked at that had been expanded closed up some. Think I'll grind the shaft of the align pin so it will go deeper into the hull. Expand the crimped neck a bit more, let sit on the pin longer to see what happens. See if I can rig up something on my Lee O frame. Hands are still sore from the other night. Grandson and I went pawn shop hunting yesterday. Byhalia, Holly Springs with no luck. New Albany pawn shop had a Stevens Mod 940A, 410, 3" chamber, choke not on barrel, stock had been shortened, no butt plate, $120 on the tag. I found a bulge 2" from end of barrel, most likely from a slug. I said $60 for it's shape, got it for $70. Full choke, Springfield Savage Stevens by internet search.

  43. Most likely an extractor issue. Check and adjust tension as needed. Examine the tip for damage. BTW: the 1911 uses a controlled feed system. NEVER drop a round in the chamber and close the slide on it. This is a sure way to damage the extractor.
