  1. I sold off my 2014 Street Glide last year as I just wasn't using it enough for what I had in it. I started to get the itch again now that the weather is nice so I picked up a new ride today. Decided to go with a Sport Tourer as I wanted something I could pay cash for as well as have a little more power behind it. Picked up a 2014 Yamaha FJR1300. I had a good time the last time some of us got together for a ride. If anyone is interested in doing it again, let me know and we'll try to plan something in the coming weeks. https://photos.smugmug.com/photos/i-DwwDJzz/0/XL/i-DwwDJzz-XL.jpg For some reason the picture won't show, but the link works. It is a nice picture of my crappy garage floor

  4. The fact that the first lady thinks she's too good to live in the white house is a major slap in the face. What a selfish, stuck up individual. This is the wife of the man promising to go after the "elite". It sure does speak volumes about them. Funny considering how hard we were on Michelle Obama. If she had done the same thing conservatives would have been furious. $250k PER DAY because the white house isn't good enough. Amazing.

  15. I would love to squeeze in a ride or three. However my riding time has been limited to rarely these days. I am not complaining, just explaining, I have put my family (wife and son) first. So we do many family outings instead of me riding.

  16. While I still don't think the Barrett .50cal is the best thing since sliced bread...there is no doubting the awesomeness of the guy who fielded the call for this Marine unit when they needed him. What a credit to the Barrett organization he is. http://tribunist.com/military/barrett-50-cal-wont-work-so-these-marines-called-customer-service-during-a-firefight-video/ Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk just to give Oh Shoot something to be grumpy about.

  17. If you look on Gun Broker at auctions that have ended; the ones that sold went from around $300 to $800. There were plenty listed at $1000-$1200 but none of them had any bids.

  21. Unfortunately, reports like Dave's of S&W customer service and quality are becoming more common. I would pass on the Smith. I have a VP9 with over 15,000 rounds without a single malfunction or stoppage. Trigger is great out of the box, but upgrades can be had. And with any HK, accuracy is excellent. You mentioned the VP9...well hold your horses becauses the long slide is soon to be released. That's what I would recommend. http://www.heckler-koch.com/en/products/military/pistols/sfp9/sfp9-l/product-overview.html

  23. @Danger Rane I appreciate the advice and might pick your brain to get started, I've read about the Miller 215 and need to stay with a 110V system. I'll price it and the Hobart together and look at the difference. @BlessTheUSA I'm doing the hobby blacksmith thing and part of its building a lot of your own tools and storage racks. I've already got a list of things I want to do.

  24. For the workload you are describing you might take a look at the Miller Multimatic 215. It's a great hobbyist rated MIG welder, pretty decent stick welder and a good starting point for DC TIG (steel). You can also get a spool gun for it to MIG aluminum. The 215 doesn't have the duty cycle of some of the larger machines, but its versatility and portability sold me on it for field use and some lighter shop work. I primarily run flux in mine (lots of field work), but it runs solid wire/gas equally well. Also it has the MVP plug system to plug into a regular 110v outlet (preferably a 20amp or larger breaker) or into a 220v outlet for higher heat settings. Best price I found was online. Cyberweld.com and a couple other online welding supply places usually offer free shipping and alternate between being $20-50 dollars cheaper than each other. Miller usually has some sort of promo going that gives a rebate if you purchase some accessories (like the TIG kit and spoolgun). For oxy/acetylene rig the Victors are generally considered the gold standard, but I've used several smiths and never had any issues with them either. Not sure where in middle TN you are but feel free to message me if you want to check out my 215 to get a feel for it. If it's outside your budget don't try it though, because you will want to get one. I own/operate a mobile welding business and teach welding on occasion, so I'd certainly be happy to get anyone in the TGO family up to speed if needed.

  26. The Last Stand by William H Weber was a great read. It starts out in Sequoyah Hills in Knoxville and goes all over East TN. Its a fast read as I took the four books on a week long camping trip and got sucked in and read all four in about six days. Great read easy read Sorry if already mentioned

  27. T.C.A. 39-17-1350 is the state law you are trying to find. You need to write to the TN Secretary of State and request an application. Once you fill out the application and send it in, if you qualify, SecState will send you a State of Tennessee Correctional Officer Firearm State ID Card. I have one.

  28. Actually, with pistols it comes down to intent. But, regardless I'll enjoy "cheeking" my blade until I can get my form 1 back with my permission from my masters to put a stock on something I already legally own. Good serf that I am and whatnot. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  29. I just (December) bought a PERFORMANCE CENTER M&P9L PRO SERIES C.O.R.E. SKU: 178058. I never I thought I would say this about and Smith & Wesson gun; but what a disappointment. I don’t believe this gun ever saw the inside of the Performance Center unless it was on a cart passing through. I have owned several M&P’s and right now have a full Size 40, Compact 40, Shield 40, and two M&P rifles besides this 9 I just got. My full size and compact are off the shelf LEO guns from 2009 and have far better triggers than this disappointment I just bought. Those of you here that know me know I am a S&W fan boy to the max; so this is hard to say. I wanted this gun to be a competition range gun with an optic. This gun has been back to S&W twice without me attempting to fire a shot, and it still has not been fired. I told Customer support it had a terrible trigger, had no Performance Center marking and was not in a Performance Center box. I told them there must be a mistake; this is no PC gun. I truly believed they had sent me the wrong gun. They had me send it in and returned it with paperwork that said “No repairs required”. I was pissed. This trigger feels like its rolling across a gravel parking lot. I emailed back asking for a supervisor to call me. Five days later I got a call. After informing him of the issue he suggested I send the gun in for the Performance Center to evaluate. I explained that I just got the gun back from having been there. I didn’t see what good sending it in again would do. He agreed and said he would look into it. I told him that if I couldn’t get a Performance Center gun; I would like a refund if possible. He said he didn’t have the authority to authorize that. He said he would talk to the Performance Center manager and get back with me the next day. 7 days later I emailed them that he had not called. Their response was: “I am sure he will be getting back to you. Probably this week.” 11 days later I knew I wasn’t going to hear anything and I sat down and wrote a letter documenting everything and mailed it to the CEO and the Firearms Director of Smith & Wesson. The day the letters arrived there I got a call from a Supervisor. He said he just came from a meeting with the Firearms Director after he got my letter. He said he would take care of my issues. He ask me to send the gun in again. He said they don’t mark “Performance Center” on these guns, they don’t come in performance center cases; but it is a Performance Center gun and should have a good trigger. He said I didn’t need to explain anything with the gun; it was coming directly to him and he would take it to the Performance Center. He also said my gun was missing the C.O.R.E. marking. He said he would get the gun fixed and send a Performance center case, and give me a range bag for my troubles. 22 days later they shipped the gun back. The work order said “won’t fire” (That was never the issue). It also said Evaluate/Repair Passed Range Testing. Same bad trigger; nothing was done to it. A couple of days later I got a S&W aluminum case and range bag. (NOT a Performance Center case.) I have heard a lot of people lately saying that S&W Customer Support had really gone bad. Having to spend a hundred or two on an Apex trigger for a new Smith & Wesson is ridiculous. If the Firearms Director at Smith & Wesson doesn’t have enough horsepower to get his guys to fix a problem; my chances are slim to none. I’m disappointed and disgusted. … and stuck with a gun I don’t want.

  30. Not hard at all to disassemble but reassembly can be a pain if you have never done it. But 99% of the time I will just hose the gun down with WD-40 run the action a few times then hit it with high pressure air until dry.

  32. Hunting with a new gun this year. Franchi Affinity 20ga with hand loaded TSS #9's. Hunted with TSS last year in a mossberg. It's magical stuff, but here's what's left of $50.00 with. The Franchi 20ga put 272 pellets in the 10" circle and 521 pellets (including the 272 in the 10") in the 20" circle. That is pretty balanced and exactly what I was hoping for. I also shot the old Mossberg 12ga to make sure it was ready for season. Whatever lube I cleaned it with last year gummed up and it wouldn't fire. I pulled it apart, soaked it and oiled it up and its back in business. 12ga Mossberg 535 with Pure Gold .670 choke and Hevi-13 #7 3.5" shells it put 259 pellets in the 10" circle and 527 in the 20" circle. This guns is a proven killer with these Hevi 7's. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

  33. but then..... For some reason, the Titanic comes to mind...... So when the deficit goes up 8 trillion during his tenure, then you'll get concerned? I will too because in 2020, it'll be a clean sweep by the Dems. Hello single payer and tax increases. Better hope we have a 5-4 or 6-3 SCOTUS majority to stop the impending assault on the Constitution.

  34. The often touted mantra by the right that "Obama added more federal debt than all presidents combined before him" is technically true at 7.9 trillion, but remember that Duyba accounted for the majority of all of it previously, at $5.8 trillion, so that's nothing for the GOP to really crow about. The fact is that the Trump budget is going to try and nuke a lot of a very small wedge of the cheese, and the fact that he's living more like a king than a president on our money while cutting out stuff like food programs and educational programs to the poor is uber hypocritical for a "populist". Especially since it won't even move the needle in the overall problem. Let them eat cake indeed. - OS

  35. Too bad Ruger didn't get the whole price point thing! That Victory is sweet! A little practice and it can be done easily. As stupid as it is designed, you just have to click your heals and spin to the left while scratching your head and rubbing your belly, goes right together then! hahaha
