  1. How so? I run around with a goddamn mask in my car and on my face if ever have to go somewhere where other people are. Finally found a pittance of hand sanitizer the other day that I can use after going about amongst the unwashed. My paranoia level was at about 2 out of 10 before this started. Now I’m one of the sheep. To hell with all this. What happens when the next virus comes around? Somewhere between reason and reality we have all been manipulated....and not for some noble purpose of saving lives.

  3. While driving around on a "kid free" date with my wife , we drove by the location where the Glockstore is being built. The building is a lot deeper than it looks. It goes back pretty far. It's supposed to be the retail store and have a range inside. I keep my Glocks pretty much stock and dont do a lot of add-on things but still this place will be pretty neat I think to visit and look around. Supposed to be done in July I think. Just thought I'd share this.

  5. Just got called by the local gun shop and said the Ruger was in so I went and picked it up. Got there filled the paperwork out and after 20 min of waiting it came back denied. Luckily for me I went through this same stuff back a few months ago. They though I was a different dude that had been incarcerated lol. Mark called and got on the phone with them and gave them my social and driver license number and they approved it. They did tell me that whenever I buy a gun to make sure the ffl put in my social and driver license number. I know I've bought from Walmart and never had a problem but some ffl's must skip the social and dl number. But anyways I brought the gun home, before ever shooting I took it all apart cleaned it. Also made sure to tighten the action bolts to specs. Only ammo I had was some Aguila Super Extra in 40gr. Sighted it in at 35 yards and I'm pleased with the grouping outta that cheap ammo. Haven't even put 50 rounds through so I can only imagine itll get better. I could probably click the scope another click to the left but just wanted to shoot it a bit first. Also for reference the circle is the size of a dime, and its 10 round groups. As far as the gun I really like it, the gun feels good, the bolt works smooth for a new gun and the trigger is great. I did adjust it to the lowest setting. The only complaint I got with it is the factory magazine likes to hang a little bit so it takes some force to get it out. But hoping itll free up some as its used.

  7. NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WJHL) — Tennessee’s Economic Recovery Group announced Friday that it will lift capacity restrictions on restaurants and retail effective May 22 and will issue guidelines for allowing large, non-contact attractions to reopen on or after May 22. The group said it will shift its focus to social distancing best practices and will issue new Tennessee Pledge guidelines early next week. Six counties — Sullivan, Shelby, Madison, Davidson, Hamilton, and Knox — will continue to follow their individual, county-specific reopening plans. https://www.wjhl.com/local-coronavirus-coverage/tennessee-to-lift-capacity-restrictions-on-retail-and-restaurants-allow-large-attractions-to-open/

  8. Pop Pop, if you are going to be doing stuff like building ranges; you are going to have to learn how to post pics. Inquiring minds need to know…. and see.

  9. Unless the information I've seen regarding the cause of death declarations, at least by some agencies, (if the patient tests positive but the death wasn't the true cause of death, it got counted as a covid death anyway) is untrue, the death count to me is a useless statistic until you take out the BS numbers.

  10. I finally got all my gongs, and targets, put together and on my range today. I put 1, 12" gong(chest size), 1, 8" gong, and 1, 4" gong on freestanding targets racks today. Also have 2 target stands that will take my cardboard man size cut outs on them. It was so wet that it took me 15 minutes to clean the mud off my sneakers. We have had so much rain as of late. Also had 3 days of frost, but the last day was real spotty. When we get some warmer dryer weather I will take out two large trees and move a little dirt and it will be totally ready to go. Been a lot of work for an old man. Mt wife, grandson and I have already shot several times before now, but am looking forward to shooting the gongs. Always like a little instant confirmation of hits on steel after shots. One gets that shooting steel. I hung them on a slight angle so the bullet splatter will be directed toward the ground, in front of the target, instead of coming back at the shooter. I actually had 2 different occasions where I fired my revolver and 9MM pistol and the bullet came back and brought blood on my shins, so it truly can happen. I had a wooden backstop and the bullet hit a nail head and ricoched back to where I was standing. Shouldn't have that problem with these targets. My old backstop rotted down 2 years ago so we have been having a hard time shooting. I got about 225.00 in all the supplies to put on the targets on the range. Bought most of it on big sales this spring. Should last me a lifetime. Told my sweetie that and she shamed me. Didn't want to hear it. I told her well, at 72, I am already on "Blessed Time" according to the Bible. She wasn't amused with that either. Looking forward to having a good place to fire my guns, and do some serious practice where I am not forced to stand in one place, and not be able to draw, move, and shoot with live ammo. The area in front of my dirt mound is very flat and smoothe, and is grassed well now. Just need a little tree removal, drying, and warmth. Edited to add; Purchased me an new Stihl Farm Boss chain saw last week for serious tree removal. We have several in my back lot that has blown down and needs removal.

  11. Yeah. Both of the guys have done work for me in the past and are reputable men. They have both been in the business longer than I’ve been alive. The high bidder spends a lot on trucks, advertising, and other assorted overhead that lower bidder does not. They were more competitive when his father ran the business.

  13. @pop pop I think several people use that for knife handles. You might ask around if you want rid of a few blocks of it.

  14. Been keeping an eye on this! I can't wait for it to open! Less than a 10 minute drive from me! At last I'll have, hopefully, a place to shoot that doesn't have a dungeon for a range and appreciates their customers. Wifey has already told me I MUST get whatever membership that is available from them, as I have been whining about needing some rest and relaxation on the range.

  15. Re: the attitude, etc. of clerks at Reloaders Bench. I had not seen much of that until lately, which I can't explain. Partly depends on the person you're dealing with. Seems like, since the Corona thing, they rather you didn't show up. Since I don't go to socialize, it doesn't really matter to me. I usually take care of myself. I go in get what I want, if it's there, pay & go. Mainly, on primers, powder, no Hazmat fee . Other than that. online.

  17. Hey Mr bad guy, can you please stop beating me to death for a moment? I need to ask this cop who's here to detain you a couple quick questions... Hey Mr Policeman, before you subdue this guy that's trying to kill me, do you have any diseases I should know about? I ask because I'm bleeding everywhere and will need some care right after you dispatch this guy, and I don't want to catch anything that might make me sick. Do I think there are medical people whove tested positive still working? Absolutely. Does a positive test mean you're blackballed from that job for life?

  19. I thought I'd throw this in here just as a FYI. As most of you know, I'm a tried and true 1911 addict. I've got a bunch of 'em. However, I only own one double stack. A Para-Ordnance SF-45A. Honestly, I'm not real fond of it as a shooter. Oh, it shoots very well. But, the double stack grip just feels wrong. But it is special to me in other ways. Back in 2009-10 Para special made these and only offered them to active duty military serving in the sandbox. For what it is, the price was amazing. My son was serving in Iraq at the time and bought two. He kept one and gave the other to me. So, while it may not be my favorite 1911, I'll never sell it either. N0, they decided not to got for all the bells and whistles with the unit markings as these drove the price up. But the patch for 278th Armored Calvary of the Tennessee National Guard is on the left side. Sorry, no pic.

  20. Personally I’m an Infinity fanboy. Sandy Strayer, the founder, was one of the co-inventors of the 2011 in 1994 along with Virgil and Fred Tripp, and Chip McCormick was mixed in as well. Infinity makes every gun to order and they have several innovations they have patented that they incorporate into their guns. They also make all their parts in-house from pins to barrels and spare no expense doing it. STI makes a good version too. STI has changed hands several times since Strayer and Tripp started it, but they are still turning out good stuff. What they make is basically a high priced production model and not something I would put at true semi custom level. Everything other than Infinity or STI is a clone, as far as I’m concerned... but there are some good ones being built.

  22. Not that I know anything about roofs, but I've always heard one should be skeptical of the lowest bidder. Especially if you intend to be in that house for several more decades. Does he come with any verifiable reviews?
