  1. Red and all, I appreciate the offer and the info. I thought about it and realized the lifetime benefactor membership was not that much money to pay considering how much help I have received from this board, so I went ahead and pulled the trigger, so to speak. I will post my items in the Classifieds now, thank you all-FFR1910, aka Bill Allen

  3. A little while back I posted about obtaining this pair of rifles. I know we have some 22 guys that will appreciate these. These are consecutive serial numbered Remington 40xb's from the CMP. What's somewhat rare about these is 1) They are part of a small Air Force run towards the end of the government contract for 40x's and 2) they are as close to new as you will find out of the CMP. In one case there is zero wear on the lugs or the lug raceways. The other has so little I bet it hasn't been cycled 100 times. The only real downside is the bolt's don't match the guns, but that's basic

  5. There are some things we know from the last several decades of vaccine science - coupled with things we've learned about this virus in the last year. 1. All of the vaccines available here in the US - whether you're getting one of the mRNA variants or a traditional viral vector variant like J&J - generally will generate a higher antibody response than the body will generate on its own in response to the getting the virus. There's a lot of well studied science here - but think of it like this - while you're fighting the natural variant - you're body is already compromised. It's not go

  7. I guess I'm now officially the neighborhood gun guy. I've never really flaunted my hobby. But I guess the neighbors have noticed when I load up and go to the range or occasionally go to the mailbox without covering my EDC. Yesterday one of my neighbors, an older lady around 70, knocked on my door. Seems that she had heard that I was good with guns and asked for my help. She recently bought a Sig P365. She had field striped it for cleaning but when she put it back together she couldn't get the take down lever to go back into proper position. I took a look. I know these are good guns an

  10. Back in December ( or it could have been Nov, ) I got up from my chair to go to the bathroom and saw what looked like a ribbon laying in the floor. As I got close, it headed for the bookcase so I realized it was a small snake. The bookcase is on those super slider things so I slid it out and sure enough it was a skinny little rat snake. It was about 16-18 inches long and maybe 3/4" in diameter. I grabbed it and started to get up off the floor ( this requires me to hang onto something ) and it wrapped it's tail around a spindle of the end table, pulled out of my hand and hauled ass. It was und

I bought it a couple of months ago and have my heart set on something new now. This is the preferred stock setup. This is below retail and I am taking a $400 loss after taxes and background check etc. I am not looking for trades. $1900 I will include a package deal with an aimpoint H1 plus Daniel Defense Mount for $2200.

  13. Thanks for asking, FourtyFive! I'm doing pretty well It has taken a while for things to settle out but just this past week I was able to secure an apartment (something that has been hard to come by) and will be able to move in sometime in mid to late June...that means that I'll finally be able to move all my stuff out of storage! Bought a used vehicle to get around in and overall, life is returning to something more "normal". I seem to get a little better every week...every day. Just five or six weeks ago I could hardly get up from a standard height chair without help but no longer

  14. My fishing buddy and I had a great day today. Great conversation and great company. The peanut butter N crackers washed down with ice cold Coke was delicious. The weather was perfect. The Hiwassee River was clear and cold. The crowd did not show up and I only saw 6 folks out fishing. A light breeze kept us cool when the sun got high. I did not loose one Rooster Tail all day. My waders didn’t leak and I didn’t fall in . We got a late start and didn’t get on the river until 9:30. The fish quit biting at 9 so we didn’t catch a thing......BUT......My fishing buddy and I had a great day today.

  16. Good morning everyone. Let us never forget this day or let our country forget it. I am privileged to attend church with a WWII vet as well as 2 Korean vets. The WWII vet had surgery a few weeks back but he is tough as nails. I knew a man that was a tank driver that went in on Omaha beach on June 7th and he was just a teenager and never could forget driving over the bodies as they didn't have the time to move all of them. Another friends dad was in the 82nd Airborne and parachuted into France. I met a 100 year old WWII vet about 5 years ago and he was in great shape. Thanks to all the vets for

  19. The USPS distribution center in Memphis is a mess. I've had packages run perfectly on schedule from the shipper only to arrive in Memphis and suddenly disappear for a week or more. I've also had packages arrive in Memphis only to be shipped off again to some totally unrelated city. Calling this place incompetent would be a complement.

  20. While I appreciate your responses in this thread, I think we're wasting our time. It's the same folks saying the same things and asking the same questions since last year. We've answered the same questions multiple times and they come back the next week to ask it again as if they really want to know the answer. I've only seen a few people who I thought were willing to look at it objectively and came to ask questions with any sincerity.

But someone should bring up that he has promised in these hearings to violate the 2nd Amendment as much as he can. The whole Waco involvement just points out how much of a sick character he is.

  22. Would you believe me if I told you the speed in developing these vaccines was due to cutting bureaucratic red tape and removing the funding delays that typically slow things down? That’s how we got it from an average of 12 years down to 11 months. I’m not a public health person - but I am a scientist - and I can say confidently that there’s not been a vaccine developed since they started blowing dried pustules from cows into open lacerations on people that has been done in a more open and public manner. These are literally the most advanced vaccines that have ever been made. And

  23. I DON’T know. That’s the thing. I wouldn’t want traffic on that bridge until I did know. As far as the interstate system, it was mostly built in the 60’s and 70’s as a means for military equipment to be transported efficiently. It was an afterthought that the motoring public could actually use it too. Those bridges are ALL pushing 60 years old. We are coming to a place shortly where there will be an astronomical bill due to replace them. Anything mam makes has a limited lifespan.

This is a Postal Meter Very Good - Fine grade: The splotches on the wood appear to just be on the surface. It's either a dried substance or perhaps some mildew/mold. It scratches off easily with a fingernail (which was promptly washed). Any suggestions on cleaning the wood? Let that be a lesson for all of us, we aren't guaranteed getting back home this afternoon. If you are not certain where you will spend eternity, make that a priority. You have to decide on the green side of the grass where you will spend it.

  28. Fair warning, the market prices for milsurps has only gone upwards in the last decade or so. Unless you get one handed down to you or manage to score one of those deals that folks talk about for years, these prices are likely as cheap as you’re going to see them. They’ll only go up from here. Sadly, 5 -10 years from now we will look back on these as being affordable.

Has a 6" barrel, adjustable rear sight and 9 shot swingout cylinder. It's like a new one, considering it's 50 years old. What info I found online was the 940 was made from 1970 to 1980, however in '73 they went to a transfer bar. This model doesn't have it, the firing pin is on the hammer. You have to cock it to the first click to carry it safe, or open the cylinder, so that puts it at 1970 - 72. More H&

  37. I can see why he struggled to answer this question, as the term "assault weapon" is both ambiguous and largely meaningless. Gun control advocates have used the term to stigmatize "scary looking guns" for a long time, dating as far back as Californian efforts to ban semiautomatic rifles with detachable magazines in the 80's. In all fairness, many gun manufacturers have, at various times used the same term as an advertising ploy to try and stimulate sales of early AR15's and similar variants, which at the time were very not familiar to the shooting public. Today of course, these rifles are am

I am not a trusting-by-nature type person, polar opposite in fact. There are several issues surrounding these medications (gene therapy, its NOT a vaccine) that I take issue with, the simplest being the blatant coersion. It ties in with my mental wiring of not trusting people. I _really_ don't trust people who try shoving something down my throat. Some kid ordered thousands of dollars in SpongeBob Popsicles from his mom's Amazon (behind her back) and Amazon refused to take a return (because it was food) ands then they do a gofundme and get like $11,000 in donations. What kind of signal does that send? I try to teach my kids basic things. Like "always have cash on you, even if it is only $20. " That is enough to get a bite of food, put a couple gallons of gas in you tank, or whatever.

They may also have erected it as well, as they did that sort of work too. This bridge is what is known as a " tied arch " design, and the fractured member is like a bowstring that keeps the arch from straightening out and falling. The connection ya see appears ta be the main one at the end of the arch. There is a complete fracture to the right of the connection. Im guessin its 12 inches to 24 inches away f

A gun safety device can be any device that can be added to a gun that permits the user to program the firearm to operate only for specified persons designated by the user "through computerized locking devices or othe

I learned that the shotgun as a defensive weapon is devestatingly final in most instances. It also has its limitations in range and application. Combination of types/ brands of 00 buck and shotgun have different performance results. Change one and you may have significant change in results. Y
