I agree. How about a PROPER primitive weapon season to run from the first to last Sunday in January. Longbows, recurves and un-scoped, roundball shooting, sidelock muzzleloaders only.2 points
-
In my opinion & please bear in mind that it's only MY opinion, i think it ought to go the other way. I personally think that it should be a primitive weapon season. Primitive meaning sidelocks only.2 points

A couple years ago a guy in his 20s was accompanied by his mother when he came to a job interview with the company I work for. And this was for a physical, outdoor type job. He didn't get the job. It made me wonder, at what age does one become an adult in today's world. I think some don't make it.1 point

Fascinating and thought provoking. My wife was wondering if by 2030 they addressed these: On "Days of Our Lives" ..... Does Nick doctor the lab test results? Will Gabi and Nick's wedding be rocked by a series of tragic events? Will Dan's hand tremors be cured?1 point

Your survey was lacking a question. "Change Muzzleloader season to Primative M/L only and move inlines into regular rifle season". I would vote for that! Sidelock Flint or percussion. You are already allowed to use "blackpowder" rifles, pistols and shotguns during big game gun season! Dave S1 point

If you think you might eventually get both, the AK may dissappear first due to current political trends. The short butt stock of the SKS can be countered with a slip on rubber butt extender. The Russian SKS versions will likely appreciate more over time. Would like to turn back the clock to when crate fulls from Russia were being pumped into the U.S. (post- USSR dissolution). Crates being jacked open at the Gun Shows and selling for around $100! ... sigh, only bought one. It has 9 notches carved in the stock, circa 1951 Tula Armory. If only one I would go for the SKS. Have fun shopping!1 point
This. However, keep a light on your nightstand pistol! ONLY use it when you're about to take a shot. It IS important to identify your target before firing. I would NOT use it as a search light. If you ARE searching, I hope you have a reason WORTH risking your LIFE(i.e. children and other family members). You otherwise would be best off hunkering down and calling 911. You let them come to you and use that light to identify the target and take the appropriate actions. MOST people take off their weapon lights when they carry the pistol. There are hardly any manufacturers out there that make holsters that accommodate weapon lights and weapon lights also make the pistol very heavy. This is where night sights come in. When you are away from the house, without adequate lighting, with minimum reaction time - night sights will help you deliver accurate shots in low light. Even if I had a weapon light on my pistol at all times, I would still use night sights. They simply don't fail, they don't use batteries, and they're very difficult to damage. I would FIRST get good quality night sights for my gun if it is a carry weapon. Then I would buy a decent weapon light that is easy to mount and take off. This is much better than a handheld light for many reasons. You do NOT want to have your hands full opening and closing doors. Most importantly you want as much control of the weapon as possible (recoil and prevent it from being taken away). Best of luck.
+1 Good post. Agree!1 point

[sub]I paid $875 (out the door price) for my Windham, and I'm as happy as I can be with it. I don't know how close that is to your $600 mark before taxes and TICS, but it's a hell of a deal. It also included the removeable carry handle with sights, so that wasn't an added expense, Dicks had the Bushmaster Carbon 15 for $699 which included a red-dote scope that I considered. Seemed like a nice rifle, but the jury is still out (with me) about the plastic rifles. [/sub] [sub]Taxes on $600, is about $59.00, then the TICS feeof $10.00 makes a $600 gun come out to $669.... so maybe it wasn't that close.[/sub]1 point

Us? No. I disagree that it is us. It shouldn't matter if we elect Gumby, Santa, or Hugo Chavez to office. As long as they obey the law, which is the U.S. Constitution, it shouldn't make any difference at all who is in the office. The problem is those who ignore the law (the aforementioned U.S. Constitution). Unfortunately....1 point

Before we start blaming the voting public, remember how the selection process for candidates runs. We have little if any part in picking the candidates. Long before the candidates get to the primaries or to the ballots, others ( political PACs and other special interest groups) have already picked who will run. Since we don't pick the candidates, we have fallen into voting by party affiliation alone. We do this partly because we want the illusion that we actually have a choice when we vote. I did not feel comfortable with a single name,Democrat or Republican, National, county or State, on the ballot this time. But those were the only choices available to me.1 point

The reason these ammo shortages are happening, is because one person panics and they buy all the ammo. Guy #2 comes in and see they're out so they run to the next store and buy all of it, or they wait until the day the new shipment comes in and buy it all out again etc... It's a vicious cycle1 point

Nothing new for me. I have said numerous times that it is the people (voters) who suck, and they are the ones who should be blamed, not the ones they elect. Seriously, who should take the blame for soon to be disastrous results of an Obama 2nd term? Obama? Why blame Obama considering he is going to do (or at least try to)everything he said he would do? It is my contention that the almost 60 million who put him in office are to blame. Over the last couple of years I have become very jaded, and I have come to realize two things. On average, people suck, and our entire system (political, educational, business, religious, etc...) is rife with corruption.1 point
Should you call 911 after you kill an intruder?i mean its no longer an emergency. They have a number for non emergency calls.
Personally I won't be the one to declare someone dead even if half his brains are two feet outside his head. Not my job and I'm not qualified. Someone gets shot on my property I'm dialing 911, with all the talk about some of the outrageous things folks are worried about getting brought up in a civil suit or by an over zealous DA it seems not dialing for medical attention would be at the top of the list of things to consider. How would it look to a jury if a slick attorney started turning it against you? "So Mr. Nicky, after shooting my client you chose NOT to call emergency services, why is that?" "He was dead." "So your a doctor Mr. Nicky?" "No" "Yet you felt compelled to make a judgment call reserved for trained medical professionals?" "It was pretty obvious he was dead." "Are you aware that many people have suffered similar serious traumatic wounds only to make a full recovery?" "Well he looked pretty damn dead to me." "Is it not possible that given proper medical attention my client might still be alive today?" "Hell if I know." "Hell if you know indeed. No further questions." ---------------------------------- Yeah, not me. I'll just go ahead and make the call.1 point

All mine have already been said, but here we go; 1. Coyotes day or night w/ Night vision devices allowed 2. Hogs back on the list 3. Turkey removed from big game, and higher bag limits. 4. Extend all deer seasons. They are way overpopulated, and are becoming more of a pest every year.1 point
-
Like Rob said on the hogs. Plus... 1. Stop catering to the duck hunters and stop closing other hunts because of duck season. 2. Extend Muzzleloader by one week . However, the first week of M/L should be traditional M/L only! The inline guys can wait until later or even for rifle season. 3. Extend bow season to allow "long and recurve" only. 4. Lower the cost of license as it's to damned expensive to hunt here! There is my two cents!1 point
I bet everyone in the US said the same thing in 1994 right before the AWB then. And that AWB took away gun rights. Or what about California where the laws are strict and they are likely going to be the example they use because it is Feinstein who is pushing for the nationwide ban. Not long after the DC shooting there was a bill introduced that sought to outlaw "sniper rifles". That law stated that any make of gun capable of shooting a group under 3" at 100 yards would be outlawed as it was considered a sniper rifle. Also, there have been quite a few bills introduced seeking to tax ammunition to a point that no one could afford it. In parts of Illinois, where Obama hails from, there is a .05 per bullet tax. All it takes is one time for a bill to pass and it is done. How often do we hear of a bill or law being repealed? Never. All they need to do is fight for a bill or law to be passed once yet we have to fight every single time. Eventually they will sneak one by and that will be the end just like th 1986 ban on the sale of new MG's to civillians. By all accounts it did not pass the voice vote but Charlie Rangel, yes the same one investigated for ethics violations, declared it passed because he was the speaker of the house at the time. I am not wearing tinfoil to think the Democrats are going to use any tool or excuse they can to outlaw our guns. Be it through UN resolution, passing laws, regulations or executive order I can see him trying something big before he leaves office that will affect gun ownership. To think anything different is a bit naive. Gun owners are under attack, or at a minimum not being supported, by all those who voted for Obama. And that is very close to being the majority of the nation now. I do not believe we will loose our guns because of a UN resolution we, as a nation, sign but signing it will be the impetus for our governemnt to pass laws to fall in line with what is in the UN resolution. The "blue helmets" are not going to come here to take our guns. Dolomite
I'm not doubting the very real possibility that we see another AWB and/or ban of high-capacity magazines, but all this talk as if someone is going to come and take all of our guns away is ludacris. Even if we do see an AWB, I doubt it will have anything to do with the UN. Clinton didn't need the assistance of the UN, and neither will Obama. The last AWB didn't force American citizens to hand over their guns, and I highly doubt a possible future AWB will be any different.1 point

The molecular structure of the oils is different no friction modifiers as well. And not only considering that, bike oils handle severe heat cycles better because they are much worse than vehicle cycles (car oils for racing are much more expensive). With that said, just because a lubricant seems to work by looking at it, doesn't mean it is functioning properly. Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk 21 point
