  1.  The Pope and Obama are on the same stage in Yankee Stadium in front of a huge crowd. The Pope leans towards President Obama and said, "Do you know that with one little wave of my hand I can make every person in this crowd go wild with joy? This joy will not be a momentary display, but will go deep into their hearts and they'll forever speak of this day and rejoice!" Obama replied, "I seriously doubt that! With one little wave of your hand?....Show me!" So the Pope backhanded him and knocked him off the stage! AND THE CROWD ROARED & CHEERED WILDLY and there was happiness throughout the land!

  5. If the Federal Government would stick to the only powers granted it by the Constitution, and the rest being states and individual rights, problem(s) solved nationally.   If the Federal SCOTUS would stick to and hear only those issues under the Constitution and Bill of Rights granted them, more problem(s) and disputes solved nationally.   If the Federal Government would go back to the foundations of English Law which we modeled after, human God given rights, the foundational morals that separated U.S. resulting in the 1776 quest for freedom and independence, most other problems would be solved.   We are not a democracy, we are a Constitutional Republic which we stand, one nation under the one living God, which we were founded. If God gives U.S. our rights, he will not ever take them back. If a king, politician, president, congress, etc. gives us our rights, they can be modified and / or taken back at anytime, as is occurring bit by bit from our foundation. Man is inherently hungry for power over other men. That's an indisputable historical fact no one can argue, period!   If our nation was founded and based on Biblical law and principals, English law and independence from a monarchy... Look at where we're currently at and heading toward.   Just common sense, where would the human population be as far as population, morals and disease if the world were mostly Sodomites? Next is the question of what's next, "beastiality"? There's a created plumbing difference for a good reason.   Just my biblical and historical views folks.

  8.   Most people that work at Comcast are idiots.   I prefer to keep them separate. Usually it will cost less. Want to upgrade your home WiFi to the new standard? Buy the router. Want to upgrade to new DOCSIS standard? Buy a new modem.   I use an Asus RT-N66u router and Motorola SB6141 cable modem. The Asus AC unit came out just a couple months after I bought the N66u. Don't have any AC WiFi cards at the moment anyway.

  11.   I agree that society has the responsibility to take care of those who cannot care for themselves.  However, you confuse 'society' with 'government'.  I do NOT believe that government has any such responsibility except to veterans.    As Christians, we are taught to help others, and to share our time, talents, and resources.  That is a gift, voluntarily given.  when government provides charity, it is not a gift, and is certainly not voluntary.  It is money that is taken by threat of force, and usually used to buy votes from those who oppose us.  Government-provided 'charity' is just a means for politicians to control us, and is not a tool for good.    Just a 'gun control' is never about helping citizens.  It's about helping those in power to keep and increase their power.

  12. So you don't want to know when a truck is coming in? That makes absolutely no sense. I understand resellers are knowing when it is comIng in but how do they have anymore of an advantage than you? You know everything they know. Quit taking your frustrations out on buisness'. I happen to know of a store that has had 22lr on the shelf almost this entire shortage. It isn't even that overpriced. I don't need it,so I am not going to buy it. How is this? You go find it. How fare is that? I wanted 9mm bad enough that I was going to sell my 9mm's and go all 40 if I could not find 9mm this week. I was more determined than others to find it. If you were determined you would have found a way to be there also. As for the resellers I am sure there were some in line but stop buying their crap and buy it before they do.

  13. They no doubt lied about the dog attack. I have owned dogs since I was 4 years old and I have never had a dog break a leash as they claim happened. What probably did happen is the dog was off the leash, which is against the law, when it attacked the seal. But because they are now the political elite they can lie about anything and everything with impunity.   He is a liar and is doing so for personal gain. Funny how a person can go from a honorable person who served in the military to a POS virtually over night. I can think of a couple of space shuttles I wish he would have been on.   Dolomite

  14. Well...  The SCOTUS is currently hearing oral arguments on DOMA (Defense of Marriage Act).  I have made opinion known on same sex marriage in numerous other threads.  I think the government (federal and state) should get out and stay out of the marriage business.  We should have civil unions for everyone, straight and gay.   My intent was not to create another thread on gay marriage.  We have had plenty of those, and nobody ever convinces each other that their viewpoint is correct.  The reason I posted the thread is because this country is going to $hit, that little fat bastard in NK is on the verge of starting another war, and McCain and Graham keep pushing us to go into Syria, and what is everyone so focused on? ****ing gay marriage.  Is this akin to playing the fiddle while Rome burns?     (edit) - took care of my pejoratives :)

  22. I submit that if anyone ever wants to see conservatives in charge of this country again they'll let this one go.  Homos getting married effects no one.   The Repbulican party is teetering on the brink of irrelevance and the last I checked they where the represetatives of conservatives.  If they keep on fighting against people's "pursuit of happiness" then don't be surprised if the Dems take the White House again in 2016, and everything else.

  23. I wonder who is getting this ammo?  I talked to a dude today that orders ammo for my closest WalMart and he said he can't get a .22LR rd and if someone said, "If you don't gt me some .22LR I will have to kill you."  He said his response would be, "THen go ahead and kill me because I can't get any .22LR."     My question is, "Who is getting yesterday's 4 million rounds from CCI?"  I ain't seen 1 single round for sale in my local haunts for several months.     I haven't even pulled a trigger on any of my guns since before Christmas and won't on centerfire.  I will start shooting what I have left of .22 soon.  And when it is gone I just won't shoot until I can walk into a big box store and buy .22 ammo, regardless of how long it takes.  I won't even darken the doors of LGS for a year, whats the point, the only way you can get anything of note out of one is to be on a waiting list and then if it is ammo you are only going to get dribs and drabs for what the next year or two?     By the time I get my shooting replacement hobbies ramped up any money I had or would have had for the firearms industry will have and is being used up.  I ain't sitting around waiting for a couple of years to have fun shooting when you can't, so might as well move on to something else - ain't going to live forever.

  25. JKGlock17, you just gave me an idea that I think could have worked.  Instead of Shane getting killed off, what if he had left when he first said he was going to - maybe took Andrea with him.  The two of them run into Michonne (who joins up with them after saving their hides in some particularly cool and butt-kicking way) and from there the show takes two, different paths.  Unlike the Andrea/Woodbury and the prison storylines, there would be no need to necessarily 'recombine' them.  Let Rick and his group settle at the prison while Shane and his group stay on the move (wasn't there some military base that Shane wanted to head toward?)  That way, it is sort of the best of both worlds - the conflicts that the settled group face as well as conflicts faced by a migratory group.   I wouldn't do any of this flip/flopping back and forth in the same episode, though.  In fact, I probably wouldn't even flip back and forth that much from one episode to the other.  Instead, I'd do at least three or four episodes focusing on one before switching to the other.  In fact, it might be interesting to do the entire first half of the season focusing on Shane's group and the last half focusing on Rick's group (or vice versa.)  Alternately, they could divide the first half of the season into two parts with one focusing on Shane and the other on Rick then do the same with the second half.  To me, staying with one group for multiple episodes would give better continuity than flip-flopping back and forth within the same episode or doing alternating episodes.   Something like that would allow for different storylines, showing different takes on the outbreak and how to survive it, while also keeping one part of the story from dragging out for too long.  Almost like having two shows in one!   It might be interesting to let things go on like that for a while and then, in the final season, have the two storylines converge.  It could be by that point that Rick and Shane are each the leader of a fairly large and capable group of survivors - and the plot driver for the last season could be a clash between those, two groups (maybe Shane has decided that Lori had his daughter and he wants to take his daughter back from Rick.)  I might even end the show's run with Rick and Shane having killed each other, most of the two groups being wiped out, their bases of operation destroyed and Carl (as a young man) leading the combined survivors of both groups as they once again take to the road.   Heck, for that matter have Tyreese and his group join up with Rick's group at the end of this season and then spend the majority of next season telling Tyreese's back story, right from the beginning of the outbreak or at least beginning after they left the 'bunker' their survivalist neighbor had set up (almost like a chance to 'revisit' the kind of action and drama we saw in the first season with folks who weren't yet 'jaded' to the presence of walkers and the whole survival process.  It would also be a chance to kill off a lot of 'main' characters (the ones originally in Tyreese's group) before they run into Rick and co.

  29. I still think the elephant in the room is components to make 22 ammo to begin with.  There can be only so many brass sheeting suppliers and those guys have capacity issues as well, not to mention power, and etc.  The same similiar components that are shared with pistol rounds and 5.56/223.    Here is an exercise with numbers, there are 317,000,000 people in the United States, of this populous, this data source suggests that 30-34% of the U.S. population owns a gun, so roughly 100,000,000 gun owners.   If 100% of this group wanted just 1,000 rounds of 22 from CCI, it would take CCI  25,000 mfg days to provide this inventory, or 68 years assuming 24/7/365 mfg days in a year.  If CCI just quadruple production instantaneously, it would still take 16 years.  This assumes no one shoots up any inventory along the way causing more demand.   Now of course 317M people includes kids and the elderly.  100M gun owners do not all shoot 22.  In the scale of things, I can see that it will take some time for manufactuerors like CCI to catch up.

  31. After this video I was prowling around on CCI's website, just some FYI:   http://www.cci-ammunition.com/education/faqs.aspx   We are currently experiencing high demand for our products. We appreciate your patience and support and remain committed to serving all of our customers, from hunters and sport shooters to those who protect our country and our streets. Q: Why is ammunition in certain calibers so hard to find? A: The current market and environment is causing stronger than usual demand for products in our industry. Q: Are certain contracts taking ammunition away from civilians? A: No. We remain committed to serving all channels of our business. The majority of our product serves the commercial market. Q: Why can't you just make more ammunition? A: Our facilities operate 24-hours a day. We are continually making process improvements to increase our efficiency and investing in capital and personnel where we have sustained demand. We are bringing additional capacity online again this year. Q: What is your stance on the current gun legislation? A: We support the second amendment and responsible gun ownership. We remain fully engaged in the legislative and regulatory process to provide the most accurate and comprehensive information to decision makers. Like most major manufacturers in our industry, we are also members of the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF). This organization helps represent our industry and our customers before federal, state and local government entities. More information about legislation and our industry's positions can be found at www.nssf.org.

I'd trade a Mosin for it if I had a few extra.  Totally unsalvageable as an M1917 as it's been permanently altered but it probably is fine shooter if you want to get into 30-06.   If you really want to make the deal I would make sure the receiver is not cracked, a known issue with Eddystones during barrel replacement.    That being said, if it was ME, I wouldn't even touch it, literally. If it was laying on a table at a gunshow or behind the counter at a pawn shop I wouldn't touch it or ask to see it.  But I'm a mil-surp snob purist.
