God, I sound like Al Bundy. You know "a fat woman came in the shoe store today...." Well this BMW driving goober with his nice clothes, metrosexual attitude and three little fairies for sons came in. I was putting a tire back on the car when one of the little kids ran back to his daddy and says "daddy, daddy, that man has a gun!!!". The man told the kids "Thats called an impact wrench, it looks like a gun but it only works on cars. It's perfectly safe". To which the kid replies, "No daddy, he has a REAL gun". The man the asked me(quite appalled ) " Sir, wha, wha, why uhhhh, Do you have a gun?". I says "Yeah, don't you?" He tells me "NO! I don't allow my family anywhere near firearms." I told him " Huh, well how does that keep your family safe from someone who don't give a ratz azz what you believe in? You know, they call them criminals for a reason, they don't care about laws, right or wrong. You think a criminal will wait around while you call the cops and then wait a little while longer till they get here? What you THINK means nothing, you chose to have a family and you're charged with their safety. Can you honestly tell me youre doing everything to provide it?" ...he probably won't be a repeat customer. Oh-frickin-well. It is sad people. Sad. You ain't gotta be a gun nut like us. I ain't big fan of driving nails but I own a hammer. I hate diggin ditches but I got a shovel. It's just a tool you hope you don't have to use but it sure sucks when you ain't got one.....and you're on the spot, in need of one. Why is that hard to understand? Where does this sense of "Avoidance will make me safe" come from? These are the people who will hide in the bathroom or basement when a volcano erupts. Yeah, duck and cover! Idiots. Rant over.10 points

Robert, I understand exactly what you're saying and some of me agrees with you. ....most of me however has decided I'm not going to lie to myself or other people any more and the truth is, 2/3's of my life is over. I don't care what others think anymore. I have no kids, no family and while I hope and pray all my TGO brethren (and their children) have long happy lives, I just don't care. I don't owe so e yuppie or his spawn an explanation. I don't have to answer to him or anyone else. I've decided to die the man I am right now. I like this guy so I'm going down with him. I know when I speak my mind, some of y'all get plum ashamed of me, Thats fine. I don't fault ya for it. I just do not believe anything will change in this country. Not peacefully anyway. Caring creates burden. Having a care to try to change the minds of those that oppose us is just more than I'm willing to give anymore. We have to be careful of what we say in open forums and all but I'll tell anyone this much; I DO NOT want any from of violent action. I DO NOT want to see people get hurt and die because we can't agree. BUT, I WILL NOT change, I will NOT give up my weapon and if you try to make me I will do my best to ........use it for what it was designed to do. I want to die an old man and on my death bed be able to say I never hurt anyone. .... If I can't do that, I'll get over it. I'm not a 'bury my head in the sand' apathetic loser. I see what's going on, I know what needs to be done. I just think its too little too late. Can anyone HONESTLY look me in the eye (err uh, computer screen) and tell me they really believe things will get back to the way they were?9 points

I never loan my guns out, neither my fourwheeler nor my truck. But a garden tool, or something easily replaced, No problem. Bring it back when you're done. Thing i was taught by my dad was if you borrow something, bring it back in the same shape as you first borrowed it. Clean it up ( even if it was dirty to begin with) and return it to the same spot as you took it from.3 points

A yuppie opened the door of his BMW, when suddenly a car came along and hit the door, ripping it off completely. When the police arrived at the scene, the yuppie was complaining bitterly about the damage to his precious BMW. "Officer, look what they've done to my Beeeeemer!!!", he whined. "You yuppies are so materialistic, you make me sick!!!", retorted the officer. "You're so worried about your stupid BMW, that you didn't even notice that your left arm was ripped off!!!" "Oh my gaaawd...," replied the yuppie, finally noticing the bloody left shoulder where his arm once was, "Where's my Rolex?!!!!!"3 points

Went into the local sporting store (actual gun shop is 30 miles away) and every time I've been in there I've chatted up a guy at the counter that loves old Mosin rifles and helped me pick one out a few weeks ago. Yesterday afternoon on a whim I walked in and picked up a box of 380 and 9mm hollow points for my carry guns and was looking at the 50 round boxes of match grade 22 and told the wife I just won't buy expensive 22 for plinking no matter how low I was. The guy got done with someone else and walked up and asked if I was looking for some 22 and I answered yes. He said hold on and went into the back and out came a case, and handed me two Remington 525 boxes for $21. This is a place that doesn't put out ammo except in the mornings the day after it arrived. I felt like Charlie with the golden ticket in the Willie Wonka movie lol. Now to tell the buddy to buy his damn rifle since I've got ammo covered for awhile lol. And we even got the wife's prints and DMV paperwork done yesterday so it was a good day out.2 points

WTF does need have to do with any of it? Moron's, just as bad as the anti gun crowd who want to know why I need an AK or a 9mm with 16 round mags, Or why I need crates of ammo for the AK.2 points

The uglier it gets out there, the more "need" to carry an AR like this. In case you haven't noticed, the Libtards are in all out attack mode already. #### them. I'm tired of worrying about what they think. I think it's cool. I like mine better, only because you don't have to pull the barrel.2 points

I think that I would do anything I could to protect myself or others (including police officers). Of course until one is in a situation we never know for certain though, do we? In my life I have done a few things that if something hadn't happened within seconds others would have been killed - at the time I thought I was doing the right thing. I still think I did... I would do it again. All the can do is what we think is right at the time.2 points

Hey now, I drive nice vehicles too, not BMWs but certainly that price range so let's lay off the anti-nice-car comments, okay??? :) I'll bet this guy was well under 40 years old, maybe even well under, right??? I think it's time we all come to grips with the simple fact that our entire education system from kindergarten through graduate school has an agenda to convince students that "guns are bad" and I'll bet this fellow learned exactly that so of course, he was appalled that you "had a gun"; after all, he's probably been taught that for years and years. I know, this is Tennessee but Tennessee isn't immune to this educational brainwashing. Only parents and uncles and such can counter that teaching...Reagan said "freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction"...the same is true when it comes to a love and appreciation of the right to keep AND bare arms. Now, if you'll forgive a little bit of criticism - I think this encounter could have gone a little better if you had been a little less confrontational and a little more educational. I know it's difficult to do when confronted with stupidity but I suspect that this guy simply went away more convinced of his own position than he was inclined to consider yours which means his kids are likely to think the same way and, unfortunately, they'll be voting someday (of the country lasts that long). ;)2 points

I hate being asked "Why?" It irritates me, sometimes, when my kids ask me "Why?" BUT, it pisses me off to no end when an adult asks me "Why?". It's as if I've misbehaved or something....2 points

Stole this from a motorcycle forum, probably not true but I figure the LEO community here might get a kick out of it: Recently, the Chula Vista, California Police Department ran an e-mail forum (a question and answer exchange) with the topic being, "Community Policing." One of the civilian e-mail participants posed the following question, "I would like to know how it is possible for police officers to continually harass people and get away with it?" From the "other side" (the law enforcement side) Sgt. Bennett, obviously a cop with a sense of humor replied: "First of all, let me tell you this...it's not easy. In Chula Vista, we average one cop for every 600 people. Only about 60% of those cops are on general duty (or what you might refer to as "patrol") where we do most of our harassing. The rest are in non-harassing departments that do not allow them contact with the day to day innocents. At any given moment, only one-fifth of the 60% patrollers are on duty and available for harassing people while the rest are off duty. So roughly, one cop is responsible for harassing about 5,000 residents. When you toss in the commercial business, and tourist locations that attract people from other areas, sometimes you have a situation where a single cop is responsible for harassing 10,000 or more people a day. Now, your average ten-hour shift runs 36,000 seconds long. This gives a cop one second to harass a person, and then only three-fourths of a second to eat a donut AND then find a new person to harass. This is not an easy task. To be honest, most cops are not up to this challenge day in and day out. It is just too tiring. What we do is utilize some tools to help us narrow down those people which we can realistically harass. The tools available to us are as follows: PHONE: People will call us up and point out things that cause us to focus on a person for special harassment. "My neighbor is beating his wife" is a code phrase used often. This means we'll come out and give somebody some special harassment. Another popular one: "There's a guy breaking into a house." The harassment team is then put into action. CARS: We have special cops assigned to harass people who drive. They like to harass the drivers of fast cars, cars with no insurance or no driver's licenses and the like. It's lots of fun when you pick them out of traffic for nothing more obvious than running a red light. Sometimes you get to really heap the harassment on when you find they have drugs in the car, they are drunk, or have an outstanding warrant on file. RUNNERS: Some people take off running just at the sight of a police officer. Nothing is quite as satisfying as running after them like a beagle on the scent of a bunny. When you catch them you can harass them for hours. STATUTES: When we don't have PHONES or CARS and have nothing better to do, there are actually books that give us ideas for reasons to harass folks. They are called "Statutes"; Criminal Codes, Motor Vehicle Codes, etc...They all spell out all sorts of things for which you can really mess with people. After you read the statute, you can just drive around for awhile until you find someone violating one of these listed offenses and harass them. Just last week I saw a guy trying to steal a car. Well, there's this book we have that says that's not allowed. That meant I got permission to harass this guy. It's a really cool system that we've set up, and it works pretty well. We seem to have a never-ending supply of folks to harass. And we get away with it. Why? Because for the good citizens who pay the tab, we try to keep the streets safe for them, and they pay us to "harass" some people. Next time you are in my town, give me the old "single finger wave." That's another one of those codes. It means, "You can't harass me." It's one of our favorites. For those who do have, or have had a close association in the Law Enforcement industry, I am sure that this will have a special meaning.2 points

It depends, If your life is in danger yes, by all means if you have a clear shot shoot the perp( but like others said) drop mag, clear round and lay flat on the ground and make no threatening moves. Say if a cop is pinned down by a crazed shooter, I'd do everything in my power to save his/her life. If I had a clear shot. May have to be treated as a suspect( drop gun, mag and clear round and be unthreatening). But I'd do it.2 points

I guess in some areas Police are viewed as nothing more than revenue generators. Around here i never had a problem with a cop pulling someone over violating a traffic law. I have had 2 tickets in my life( for speeding). I don't speed anymore( just go with the flow of traffic). I live out in the country and it is nice to see the sheriff deputies "harassing" cruising the neighborhood from time to time. Least make their presence known. Soon I'll be moving back to Tullahoma and having a city cop down the road isn't going to make me feel one bit "harassed".2 points

A view of their side, it is long, but yall should read it. http://kontradictions.wordpress.com/2013/04/20/dear-democratic-gun-control-lobby-how-to-get-better/ Just what they are looking to do, put sweet icing on the bad tasting cake. 1. Stop Sending Mixed Messages I wish I had a dollar for every Democratic politician and commentator that has looked into a television camera over the past few months and said, “No one is trying to take your guns away!†Allow me this humble suggestion: The best way to convince the American public that you’re not interested in taking guns away is to stop talking about taking guns away. 2. You Have To Understand What You’re Regulating This is common sense for any sort of regulation, but especially when you’re dealing with something specifically protected in the Bill of Rights. Unfortunately, it has not been the case. New rule: If you don’t know how guns work, you don’t get to craft legislation about them. There is nothing so embarrassing as watching a Democratic politician who has never held a gun in their life attempt to talk about why and how they should be regulated. 3. Stop Using Children It was the dead children of Newtown that were intoned as the push for gun control legislation began. As I have just evidenced, it was the dead children intoned during the drumming up of support. And it was the dead children intoned in Obama’s “concession†speech as every gun control measure in the Senate failed. 4. Stop Pretending Background Checks Don’t Already Exist. Yes, it’s true that 90% of Americans like background checks for firearms purchases. Well it’s a good thing we have them! 04/21/13 Edit: Four months after the shooting rampage at Sandy Hook Elementary School, USA TODAY Poll finds backing for any new gun control legislation has slipped below 50%. The “90% approval for new background check legislation†has turned out to be very false indeed. 5. Treat the NRA As What They Are: Other American Citizens What you’re missing is that the vast portion of the NRA’s funds come not through corporate donors, but through contributions from average Americans. It was not a coincidence that between December 2012 and January 2013 the NRA grew 10,000 members every day, adding a full quarter-million new contributors to their roster since gun control reappeared in the national discussion last year. That’s just what happens when a populace that cares a lot about something gets mobilized. But the NRA – by which the Democratic party should mean “the American citizens who comprise the NRA because they believe in gun rights†– has consistently been characterized as the heartless, monolithic boogeyman. 6. Don’t Forget About Us! Gun policy is not really as partisan a debate as mainstream media would suggest. There are plenty of left-leaning citizens and Democratic voters who love our guns. Some of us are in the south, some of us are out in Colorado, and some of us are right in the middle of New York City. Some of us not only like the process of shooting guns, but actually think that it’s important to know how. Some of us hunt to supplement food/income. Some of us believe that the safety of our selves, families, communities and yes, even our nation are our own responsibility as citizens. It’s not such a radical thought.1 point

Does anyone need anything more than a double barrel shotgun? Deceding what a law abiding citizen needs and is allowed to own is a liberal mindset. Timothy Mcveigh used fertilzer to kill several, yet I bought and spread a ton of it two weeks ago. Criminals will find a way, and its not for anyone se to restrict our rights or what we are allowed to buy because of what someone else may do. This is how the NFA got passed. Because who needs a full auto, or a supressor, or a sawed off shotgun. No more infringments, no more compromise. Sent from the backwoods of Nowhere1 point

Knowing the facts? I suppose not knowing all the facts could be a problem but how often are police involved in a gun fight and the police are the "bad guys"? I guess the way I see it, if bullets are already flying and I'm "there" then isn't my life in danger? I don't think it's theoretical at that point...maybe intervening isn't the smartest thing to do but I think it would be the right thing to do.1 point

As Spots said, they are full force out to do policing for profit there as far as modified cars go. Some of the people on the car forums I frequent said it is so bad if you own anything that doesn't look like a completely stock vehicle, that they have left the state. Pull them over, look for CARB stickers, paperwork from installations, any unauthorized mods, any serial #s removed all right on the side of the road... just looking for a reason to impound their vehicle.1 point

If you are able, and willing, to spend the full $1,200, in my opinion the end all 9mm is the CZ Custom Shadow Target. I have, and have owned, A LOT of 9mm, but this one is my absolute favorite and I will never part with it. 10 rounds, 10 yards, offhand is no problem to shoot a ragged hole. The fit and and finish of this CZ is second to none. My second choice would be my Springfield XD tactical. I've done quite a bit of work to mine, but the new XDm 5.25 Competition piece is sweet and very close out of the box to my custom. Here, I thought I should post the Shadow Target again just so everyone can drool.... :)1 point

It is a really bad idea. It only serves to embolden an idiot even more than carrying a firearm. It allows people to wrongfully intimidate or scare people. And finally I think anyone with a badge is impersonating LE. I met a guy who had one. He said he was either going to wear it on his belt or around his neck. He said he would be able to flash his badge to prevent a crime. He also said when, not if, he had to shot someonoe he could wave his badge to responding LE so they won't shoot or arrest him. I never talked to or seen him again to see how well his plans worked out but I susoect they didn't.1 point
