  1.   Honestly that's kind of a rude question, you know?  I never ask people about their finances.    Steve works pretty darn hard, I can tell you that much.

  4. There is a high crime rate in Memphs, there is no denying that. But what people who don't live here fail to understand is that most crime in Memphis is between individuals that are related or know each other. I don't see the "stranger crime" as being any worse then anywhere else. I have lived in Memphis my whole life, just shy of 51 years. There is nowhere in Memphis that I am afraid to go. There are places I would advise seniors not to go. But for the most part "if ya aint in nothing, there won't be nothing". Now when you speak of the leaders, they are our own worse enemy.

  5.     Saying the M&P is a copy of the Glock shows very little technical understanding of the M&P's design.  The Sigma, yes.  The M&P, no.  And say what you want, but none of my M&Ps have ever failed me either and none of them throw brass in my face.  :)

  8. I flew with a handgun three years ago.  No problem going out of Knox,  leaving Phoenix was a whole different deal.  I did exactly the same thing both ways.  Had a Phoenix cop detain me while it was all sorted out.  Idiot TSA guy about had a stroke when he encountered the declared handgun.  The cop was very nice and told me I had done nothing wrong.  I was pretty much giving the TSA jerk a piece of my mind the entire time. Mr.TSA did not like me so much.

  12. Setting up dies can be very frustrating but I have found a foolproof way to set them up 99% of the time. To set your seater die do this.   Loosen the seater die a few turns. Loosen the seater stem a few more turns. Take a piece of FACTORY ammo and place it in the shell holder. Place the handle of your press at the all the way down position. It should be resting on the presses hard stop. Slowly screw the seater die in until the die hits resistance and you start to see the handle move. It should not move up any significant amount but just kind of barely move. Lock the seater die down so it cannot move. Screw the seater pin in until the handle again starts to move.   Now when you load a round it should at least be the same as the factory ammo you used to setup your dies.   This will get you very. very close to where you want to be. 9 out of 10 times the seater die is good to go and the only adjustments from then on are with the seater pin. If you do have any issues or want to add a little more crimp only add a 1/8 turn at a time and remember to back the seater pin out the same amount you screw the seater die in.   I would also STRONGLY suggest a chamber gauge to check your loaded rounds before you get to the range.

  13. Doesn't matter if it is good or bad.  You don't buy a Raptor for mpg's.  I have found that I get better mpg than the sticker claimed.     Anyway I guess I recall driving a Monte Carlo and getting about 8 mpg, so even 11 sounds good.   Of course Willis could go a buy a Rav4 or something if mpg's are an issue.   ;)

  18. Odd to see a BP revolver being used in a shooting rampage, especially considering all of the other weapons & ammunition that the shooter seemed to have access too. I'm sure it would be coincidence (and not pre-planning) if some new piece of legislation was introduced to restrict BP guns the same as modern guns in the aftermath of this.

  20. He does not have to do it forever.  Only for 3 more years.   And yes, it will hold up that long.  Bush actually IS to blame for the big brother crap.  Its one of about 10 or 15 huge idiotic mistakes he made and why I am NOT a fan.   I liked him better than the alternatives, yes, but that does not excuse the massive blunders like the first bailout, the patriot act, going to war (if its worth one us soldier's  life, its worth one nuke in my book),  no moron left behind, and more.     This is a consequence of the patriot act and the blame lies with bush in at least equal measure to obama.   Again, for a guy at 40, there has not yet been ONE president in office that I would cross the street to pee on if they were on fire.  Yes, that includes reagan who did so much damage to CA that it is no longer even recognizable as part of the country and it includes bush sr who started a war that cost us billions and it includes W for the listed reasons and more.   Ugg.

  24. By definition no fact can be denied without losing credibility.    The thing is, so what?   Reasonable law enforcement practice is not to round up everyone in the country and do a strip search.  This is the same thing, only electronically.   A wire tap on some guy who is "of interest" ?  Fine.   Looking at everyone to see what they can see? Not fine.    Getting  warrant to search one home?  Fine.  Door to door break down, tear down, full search across the USA? Not fine.     The hard tactics do work.  They would catch some criminals.  But at what COST?  It is not worth it.

  26. 6.8, the problem here is that Manning divulged info to wikipedia which contained detailed operational information and videos, state department communication and assessments. Just because he didn't like the Army or didn't like the war.   The NSA leaker, shed light on a program that taps into anyone's data/communication in the US, not in an operational theater, sure it could be used over there, but tapping into US Citizens without a Warrant is violation of our Constitutional Rights, sure is he culpable for sharing top secret information, yes he is, but I would not put him on par with Manning.

  27. The days of getting a Mosin or a AK in your box of Cap'n Crunch are gone. Even if you have a C&R and have AIM mail one to your house, the best you can do is $120. If you don't have a C&R, then your looking at a wad more to a FFL. I would gladly pay more to put my hands on one and look down the barrel than take a chance at a crap shoot on mail order even if they pick a best of 5 for you. It's worth that to me for a rifle I am going to keep. Maybe you can get nice ones through mail order too, but even with millions of those made, they good ones will be gone some day.

  31. There is a big difference between a young child and a teen in terms of how they interpret that violence. Obviously it isn't just video games, but other media, violent household, etc. There are young kids who are exposed to that and they are usually the little aholes roughing up the other kids on the playground. My son is about 4 and still doesn't have any toy guns other than a nailer in his tool chest. We have taught him about firearms and that they aren't toys and they are not to be pointed at people. Introducing a toy gun into the mix would contradict that, and he is too young to differentiate and understand. When he is older he'll have nerf guns, squirt guns, paintball guns since he will be old enough to understand the context. For now, if he were to be issued a toy gun I would have to worry that he may handle a firearm thinking its a toy. Someday he'll be old enough to know the difference. For violent media, I think it has a huge impact on young kids, but probably not after the age of 10-12. Older kids see that in a different context. Young kids aren't old enough to understand, and it can warp their sense of empathy and predispose them to violence. I could be wrong, but I've seen enough ahole kids to think that I'm not.

I'd like to have their jobs but I don't guess I'm qualified since I'm honest, always do what I say, could care less about money so long as my basic needs are met, and I hate golf.  Call me what you want but if I had an invitation to meet/ hang out with the president I would decline.  He is nothing but a threat to America, why, if I was an elected official, why would I want to go hob nob around with him?  I would feel like I had some explaining to do to my constituents after fraternizing with that piece of garbage.

  40. This is just conversation, speculation and opinions from all of us.   What would I have done? Well I wouldn’t have jumped out of my truck and started following/chasing someone that had committed no crime. The Police were on their way; I would have let them handle it. I don’t get in physical confrontations when I’m armed…. It’s reckless.   If I’m in a position of having my head pounded in the pavement its either because I’m a willing participant in a fight where I let my azz overload my mouth, in which case I can’t use a gun to end it and would have to rely on other means. Or, it is an unprovoked attacked in which I could shoot my assailant dead with no remorse or fear of prosecution. Yes, you could die in a fight; although it is highly unlikely. If you are so worried about that don’t do stupid stuff that puts you in that position. That is your responsibility.   Badazzes don’t run. They don’t run from civilians and many don’t even run from the cops. If Martin was the thug badazz many of you are portraying him to be he would have gone heads up against Zimmerman; he would not have run. I think he was probably scared and may have even seen the gun. With fear and adrenalin pumping he reacted by trying to stop the threat.  That’s mere speculation on my part because we can’t ask him; Zimmerman shot him to death.   I don’t think Zimmerman was out for blood. I think he was a cop wannabe that thought he was on patrol in the neighborhood. He committed a reckless act that led to the death of a kid that was committing no crime, but “looked suspicious” to Zimmerman.  That is unfortunate for him; it cost him his life.   We didn’t hear about this because it was a white guy killing a black kid. We heard about this because the cops wanted to arrest Zimmerman and when DA refused; the community reacted. From day 1 the pro Zimmerman side has been saying that the cops said it was justified. It has been shown time and time again that is just not true; the cops wanted an arrest warrant that night. It is the DA’s discretion on whether or not to file charges. It is the communities right to react when they think he made a mistake. That is what happened and the Governor and the Attorney General decided to replace him; that is their discretion.   What do I think is driving this big debate? I think some are afraid that if Zimmerman is found guilty their right to defend them will be compromised. I don’t feel that way; I wouldn’t be in that situation and if I was I would fight and win or take my azz whipping for being stupid; not pull my gun and kill someone.   Is this a racist issue? I don’t know. Would Zimmerman have stopped a white kid walking down the street? He said “They always get away” how many times has he done this? Has any of the people that “got away” from him, or been stopped by him come forward?   The defense team is reduced to blaming the victim using prior acts that had no bearing on this incident; that is a very dangerous course of action to take when you have someone that has never been arrested vs. someone that has been arrested for violence.  Pot and having a gun? You have to be kidding me. How many of you here have smoked pot and own guns? I would be more worried about that becoming an issue in a self-defense trial than some of the other stuff going on. Did he have these defense attorney’s when he lied about his assets and his wife was arrested? Either his attorneys are incompetent or he outright lied to them also. That won’t help him.   Yes, Zimmerman was in the neighborhood watch program. But the cops always stress that you do not engage; you are eyes and ears only. Why? Because of stuff like this.   Zimmerman is hosed no matter what happens. I was appalled when the AG refused to arrest the members of the New Black Panther Party that publically put out a hit on Zimmerman. That is a crime in any state I have been in; maybe it isn’t in Florida. But that is what he has to deal with if he gets off.   Do I think he will be convicted? No, I think it will end in a hung jury. This is going to be a tough case to get a jury to agree on.   These are simply my opinions on a very high profile case. I believe Zimmerman is innocent until proven guilty and he deserves a fair trial. I’m sure the trial will be televised and we will get to see the evidence and make our own judgments about the witnesses.

He only rose his voice because that piece of crap was talking over him and didn't want the truth to spill out in public. 48. Facts are that Obama came from out of nowhere, was schooled at the best colleges money can buy, yet had no money of his own on record, nor a job. He has hidden everything about his scholastic abilities and records. He holds a social security number from a state he has never lived in (but has relatives with illegal SS #s from the same state with no record of having lived there either). I think history will show a huge con game was played on us all. If anyone had told me 10 years ago the few facts we know about the president now sitting in the White House , I'd have told them they were crazy as hell......and I'm NOT talking about being black. That was going to happen anyway sooner or later, and I don't really consider that a major issue if they are qualified.
