Yes, worked again tonight. And no, Manchester Wal-mart didn't get any .22 LR tonight(was supposed to but no, we didn't get any). Had a few people come in and it was the .22 they were after. But later as I was running the freight to the floor another guy needed help, he was looking for .22 for his daughter to go hunting with. Now it is one thing to keep an adult from shooting, but these gougers and hoarders are gonna have to draw the line at this. When you keep a kid from getting to go hunting or target shooting with .22 it makes me kinda sad. See i never got into hunting when I was a kid, only shot a .22 at Boy scout camp before i got into guns. BB and pellet guns since i grew up in the city limits. Long story short... He needed ammo, we didn't have any but I offered to give him some so his kid could go shoot( 11 year old daughter). Gave him my number and I hope i can help him. I don't usually do this but he seemed genuine.8 points

I will make this offer. If anyone needs help in the Knoxville area ask. If someone wants to host I will bring my tools for all to use, just make sure the person hosting has a vice to assemble the upper. Beyond that everything else is pretty easy once you seen it done once.3 points

That this is even remotely a serious question shows how broken the Republican Party is. :shake: Sorry folks, but it seems that all it takes to be considered as a viable candidate for POTUS is to be loud and obnoxious and make abstract statements about policy that people like. The Dems got Obama, The Reps wanted Palin, then Newt, and then Bachman. Then it was Rubio. Then it was Rand Paul. Now it's Ted Cruz. And people here are seriously saying that Ted Nugent would be a good candidate, but would also likely say that voting for a solid Libertarian is giving the election away to the Dems???3 points

I was having a beer or 3 tonight and thought I'd share this. Doesn't have a great ending or anything but here goes........ I had to go recliner shopping this evening. My old friend of the past 6 years went to the 'man cave in the sky' earlier today. As I was trying out a suitable replacement an older couple walked by followed by what I guessed was their son. I flopped the footrest down and we exchanged a hello as they walked by. Now I'm deep in thought about making such an important purchase. This recliner isn't about me, it's about the dog. Is there enough room for him to lay beside me without me having to sit on the opposite arm of the chair so I'm not touching him? Will he have enough of a landing pad when he jumps from 10 feet away running at 100 mph? Is the footrest big enough for him to lay sideways on his back exposing his kibbles and bits for the world to see? Still I manage to notice something. The son is wearing scrubs and semi pocket carrying a revolver, a big revolver. How do you semi pocket carry you ask?? You grip the big ass gun and stick most of it in your pocket. Next you leave the grip exposed above your pocket. How does the gun not just fall in or out of your pocket? You never take your hand off the grip is how!! I'm watching this guy walking around with a partially exposed gun in his hand. I'm not gonna lie, when I first saw this it was hard to keep my hand from finding it's way under my shirt and on to the grip of my Kimber. So I stand there for a minute looking at this guy. When his Dad asked him something it was "yes sir". He's helping his mom by holding her purse while she fondles something. He's holding the purse with his left hand, right hand never comes off the grip. He sets the purse down and helps her sit on a chair she likes. Again, never lets go of what looks like a big S&W. Dad asked him another question, "yes sir". I'm thinking...seems like a nice guy but what the hell. So I ask. Me: What ya got in your pocket? Him: Ahhh...S&W revolver. Me: Looks kinda big. Him: Yeah, a 629. Left my carry gun home. This is my truck gun. Me: Nice. Why you carrying it like that? Him: Didn't have a holster with me. Me: Guess you don't have enough pocket for it. Him: Pocket has a hole in it. Me: What?? Him: My pocket has a hole in it. Me: LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL Him: No, really. There's a hole in my pocket and that's why I'm holding on to it. I've absolutely lost it laughing at this point because he's serious as hell. There was so much more I wanted to say to him but he walked off as the guy from the warehouse walked up and said my recliner was up front waiting for me. Here's the best part. I'm sure I was the only person that noticed. There was at least 20 people walking around and no one paid any attention. Too busy doing their own thing. And I worry about printing sometimes. The story doesn't have a happy ending. The dog won't get near the new recliner. Pretty sure it's going back tomorrow.2 points

Now I like Ted Nugent but before anyone puts him in an ivory tower you may want to look up his history. He has a bunch of kids, 8 with 5 out of wedlock, and this "family man" fought hard to keep from paying child support for some of them. Eventually he was ordered to pay but it seems like he would have done the rightthing in the first place and take care of his kids. Then there was the incident involving the 17 year old Pele Massa when he was ~30. Because he coudn't legally marry her he convinced the parents to give him guardianship. But rather than marry her like he promised he sent her on her way when he was done with her. I support his views on guns but not much else.2 points

Channel 4 dropped by our warehouse the other day wanting some footage of a gun safe for a story they were doing, What was the story? Well it seems a gun owner had purchased a cheap safe from TSC and didn't bolt it down and shockingly someone broke in and stole the entire safe and along with it his gun collection and other valuables. Here's the story that channel 4 ran : http://www.wsmv.com/video?clipId=9423403&autostart=true Moral of this story? Buy a good quality safe that is secure and heavy enough to keep someone from getting your hard earned valuables AND by all means BOLT IT DOWN ! [sharedmedia=core:attachments:89] Another example of a cheap safe that was bolted down but was beaten open with a mini sledge hammer. Drop by we would be happy to show you a good quality safe . Arnold Schwarzanegger wants Americans to pass a Constitutional Amendment making it possible for a foreign-born person to become President. He should just change parties, because it's already legal for Democrats.* *(clever remark found on http://directorblue.blogspot.com/ )1 point

swim: I believe that the finish has rubbed thru... See the coppery color that is fanned out between the bare spot and the nickle plating... What you are seein is a spot worn thru to the bare steel, a ring of copper plating, and the worn area of the nickle plating--- three distinct rings... My guess is that the pistol originally wuz carried a lot in a holster (...think sheriff deputy, policeman, or other everyday carry over a goodly period of time here....) and the movement between the gun and the leather holster over time has worn the finish off... I would just keep the worn spot clean and rub a bit of hard finish paste wax on it from time to time... I've seen several older nickle guns that have been carried a lot in a holster with wear spots on them similar to what ya get with a holster worn blue gun... When they plated the gun, they plated the copper on first to hold and smooth the nickle plating on... Ya cant fix this sort of thing easily, and it hurts the collector value a bunch... The only way is to fix the spot is to strip the plating and re-plate, and you never get a good job with re-plating... I kinda like the "well used, lovingly cared for" look on these older nickle pistols... I would just watch the spot and keep a coat of wax on it... It adds character to these old guns... We've got several nickle plated colts and smiths that show similar wear... Nickle (...believe it or not...) is soft and will scratch a bit... I think that contributes to the surface wear on the nickle guns... leroy1 point

If you can, ditch windows entirely and go to Linux. I've been using computers since 1981 and the Tandy TRS 80. After leaving the TRS80, I moved to DOS and then eventually to windows. (I owned a couple of Macs in the past 10 years but didn't like them.) But after upgrading to Windows 8 in Oct, 2012, it made everything harder to do. I put up with it for 2 months and then replaced Windows with Linux Mint 14. I've since loaded Linux on four computers. It's faster, less hassles, and virus free. No more annoying slow-downs while the virus software checks a website or download. It's been 10 months and I've had no problems with any of the four computers... three with Linux Mint 14 and one with Linux Mint 15. I'm typing this on a Linux OS laptop right now. EDITED: Oh, and it's blazing fast on my old Dell that's... guessing... 8 years old.1 point

Oops, I spoke too soon. Sorry guys, but I am going to have to back out on this one. I have been working on something (actually someone) the last several months, and things are starting to change. I think it was a great gesture on your part to offer to help. As far as Walmart firing an employee for stopping a woman from being assaulted in the parking lot Walmart should have given him a medal for his action. I think folks in that area should boycott the store till they gave that employee his job back........jmho1 point

It's a shame cause congress passed a law making 350 million dollars go to teaching armadillos to use striped crosswalks instead of just running across the road. It's on page 14,368 of the obamacare act. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2 of course it ate my spelling.1 point

Mitch is a member of the political elite. This is a class of citizens that is above the rest of us. No matter what party they call themselves, in the end they will always stick together. They vote themselves perks like unconstitutional dead benefits, $175,000 to Lautenberg, widow, he was only worth $57 million, and exempt themselves from laws they enact to keep the rest of us in line. Not all in Washington are members of this club as we saw last couple of weeks. You can bet your last $ than they will be targets of the elite's groups to be defended in the coming elections. They can't have these rebel rousers spoil their club.1 point

Okay, well then let us start a discussion on religious persecution in the military. I was in the Army. I've witnessed religious persecution first hand. Honestly, at the time some of it was a little amusing, however, looking back I don't think it was appropriate. If the same thing had happened in reverse it would have been a big friggin deal, but since it only involved people not willing to go to church it was funny. Well, what if you were punished for going to church? How would it be different to punish someone for going to church versus someone who doesn't go? Both are equal on the scale of religious persecution, however, I don't think people like you care about those on the other end of the scale. I could be wrong, so forgive me if I'm making the wrong assumptions here, but you don't really care about religious persecution, do you? You only care about a perceived persecution of people who believe the same thing as you do, right?1 point

Let me add I am against Obama. Don't like and think he is not good for the country. But articles like that help Obama. It makes the anti Obama people look like foolish lunatics. Obama has done plenty wrong, no need making up foolish allegations. That article is no different than the "Evil Assault Rifle" crap anti gun people spew1 point

We did look for one in Memphis. Your guy still had his FFL address listed as a residential address, and we just weren't comfortable sending our members to someone's house that we don't have any prior relationship with. For that matter, we really looked for FFLs in Johnson City, Jackson and Chattanooga, too. You'd think that having a bunch of new customers coming into their shop and maybe buying something would be attractive. Our vendors jumped at the chance to participate. Everyone else looked at us like we were crazy. I guess they just didn't want the administrative overhead of having to add the stuff to their books. It was kind of crazy to me, though. I run a small business. I'm not really in the mindset of turning away people who want to give me money.1 point

I think it's just an interesting indicator of the times we live in - that there are plenty of people who think their AR cobbled together from whatever random gun show/junk bin assortment of parts is every bit the quality of your Noveske, Larue or LMT. Prices in the classified over the last year have shown it. I guess it shouldn't surprise me that their thinking carries over to stuff like this as well. When we first started talking about the group buy, a 6061 billet lower was hard to find at $120 - or even double that. Once CMT stepped in, some of the demand had eased, but a 7075 billet lower at $120 is still an insanely good price. There are some people who you just can't make happy. Their loss.1 point

Even if a court didn't rule against them, it's very likely the next year the legislature would change the law preempting the schools ability to expel law abiding citizens for following state law. UT really doesn't want to play that game, they'll lose in the long run.1 point

He did well but IMHO the 3 guys were not over the top either. If you are not required to offer ID, then you are not required to offer ID and do not have to comply. They were not so bad -- certain someones would have been threatening to sue by the 5 min mark. Me, I would have let him see the gun and asked to meet up to shoot the full auto, that sounded like an OFFER for a fun day and they ignored it. Me, I am thinking this guy is cool, could even become a friend, and a friend who is a LEO is a good thing to have. I probably would have shown my ID and recruited him for the cause -- hey, why don't you stay here and hang with us and explain to the sheep that what we are doing is legal and nothing to be concerned over? Course, I would not be hauling an AR around to make a point, either. I don't have that much free time nor motivation.1 point

Chattanooga Jiu Jitsu Academy. For pure self defense it's the best in town. Today we had a 3 hour seminar with Rorion Gracie, the inventor of the UFC. Mickey is a fantastic guy, and an even better instructor. He will let you try the program out for 10 days no charge. Let me know if you have any questions. ETA: Unless you specifically want to fight MMA, stay away from MMA schools. MMA is a sport, they train their guys to compete and win fights against opponents in the same weight class. That is all. If someone running an MMA gym tells you it is "street applicable" they are either trying to get your money, or woefully misguided.1 point

So don't choose between the two -- the lowers are first in line since that project has been in the works for far longer. This may be something that makes sense for us later on this year or early next. Joe didn't put an expiration on it.1 point
