1. Had this guy on trailcam but was a 10 pointer then. Shot him this morning and now he's a 9 pointer (broken tine). He must have been fighting off them other deer. He was out doggin some doe's. Dropped him at 100 or so yards.

 2. I think we ought to quit withholding payroll taxes. Make everyone write one check on April 15th and then immediately follow it with Election Day on April 16. Term limits would be a self-correcting problem.

 5. This thread is as bad as a OC/CC thread. There are two camps here and neither is going to change the others mind. Here's my opinion. (Not that it matters) If you ride in the passing lane and hold traffic up... You're a inconsiderate schmuck. If you tailgate/push cars that are going slower than you'd like... You're a inconsiderate schmuck.

 12. I'm in for term limits on Congress, too.  Even as wise as the founding fathers were, they didn't forsee a voter demographic as stupidly disengaged as the one we have now.

 13. Read this morning on line were some crazy professor of course from a New York University proposing that we do away with the 22nd Amendment to the Constitution and allow a President to run and remain President as long as he chooses to. I guess being from New York you can expect something like that. As far as I'm concerned I think every elected official in the Senate, House need term limits right along with keeping the Presidents at two and I think that there should also be limits put on how long the a Judge of the Supreme Court should be allow to have a seat on the Supreme Court Bench. I think in the past and even right now there are one or two that are well past age to possibly have Alzheimer's  and need to be gone....................jmho

 14. I went fishing yesterday about 11 am or so and was in the middle lane of 153 going about 45. As I went through the traffic light into the walmart, which was green, an SUV approached on my left with the back seat filled with shopping bags. The woman driving was looking down texting on her phone at about 50 mph. I saw the next light turn red (about 150 yards down the road) and started slowing down hoping I wouldn't have to stop while pulling the boat. I saw 2 vehicles, a car and a truck, pull out and turn left towards Ms. Textndrive and myself with the last vehicle, the truck, clearing our path about 20 yards or so in front of us. Ms. Textndrive never looked up, did not see either vehicle and drove right through the red traffic light without so much as touching her brakes or slowing at all. A man in a car stopped at the same light but in the opposite lane sounded his horn and was waving at her as she drove blindly through, head down, and texting her little foolish heart out. Lucky gal is all I can say. Be careful out there, I know they are there all the time, but I think the holidays give them much more to talk...um..text about.

 17. Not really sure but when I field dressed him and loaded him in my truck by myself I thought he was 1,000 lbs lol. No I figured he dressed out at 150 or so but not really sure. He was a really big deer.

 18. If my kid was shot while robbing someone I would be remorseful for the victims and embarrassed that I raised a monster. I'll love my kids no matter what, but that doesn't mean I have to love what they do. These people come from an entitled society void of conscience. They don't see the wrong in what they're doing because they have been raised to be sociopaths. The parents should be thrown in jail for letting their felonious son out to terrorize society.

 20. Wow, this thread escalated quickly.   It's a fucking game guys.  A game.  There are far more important things to get wound up over.  Like people who think it's wrong to speed but think it's ok to brake check

 23. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes?  I'm having a hard time finding it within myself to mourn for another celebrity who essentially committed suicide.  Besides, this guy and the movies he's made are largely responsible for glamorizing the "street racing" culture and helping it explode exponentially.  No pun intended.    It's kind of a good thing that the hot-rod Honda crowd gets to witness the mortality of one of their heroes.  Maybe it'll smack some sense into them and they'll put less of us at risk on the streets as a result.

 27. My take is that term limits are not the answer.  Making your livelihood being a career politician is the problem. Cut all the salaries by 75% or more and let's see what happens. The founders wanted common folk to serve because they wanted to, not to get rich in government.

 29. Once a politician gets elected, their focus changes to one overriding goal... getting reelected.  We have people who have been in office 30-40 years. They have completely lost touch with the common man.    Two terms max for Congress, Senate, and President... plus they can't work as a lobbyist for at least 10 years.

 30. Screw him and his family. If he wasn't a useless pile of ghetto ćrap, he wouldn't have got shot. If the family would have raised him to be something better than a steaming pile of ghetto ćrap, he wouldn't have got shot. "Ohh he was a good kid!" ....waawaawaa, piss on him and good enough for him.

 31.   Has nothing to do with forcing a reload. IDPA was started under the '94 AWB and some states still have bans in place. The 10 round rule is to provide a level playing field across all states in the USA just the same as Production in USPSA. There is nothing "real life" (sorry kitty) about IDPA and mag capacity. It's a game with rules (some stupid in my opinion) but if ya play the game you play by the rules just like football or baseball.

 32. My relationship with them diminished greatly (many years ago) when one of their employees ran over my new truck..  Unfortunately, the guy was driving a 24' box truck, and ran over my hood.  Literally. Their insurance people were not nice.     edit - hmmmmm... maybe that was Budget, not Enterprise.  Long time back...

 39. I would not begin to know how to use the venom to make an antidote.  Now, I would not mind having a supply of it for nefarious purposes in a  SHTF scenario ....    some of that good stuff that clots all your blood in like 10 seconds would be a nice tool against zombies.     This stuff http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/wonkblog/wp/2013/05/20/heres-what-snake-venom-does-to-blood/     which might be useful to stop bleeding, but its too dangerous for anyone but a medical pro.

 41. I am a EST (engagement skills trainer) operator for my reserve unit, did the same thing for my active unit.  Some of the electronic trainers, like the EST are amazing teaching tools, but they should be used with the same general rules as a live weapon.   I cant say about this system, but on an EST i can show an individual shooter everything the weapon is doing during the shooting process.  When paired with a decent coach it is one of the better ways of identifying shooter deficiencies and without the ammo expenditure to boot.   Electronic shoot don't shoot training is great, practicing with blanks/simmunitions using large groups of role players may be better, but it is not as cost effective.   The systems are only games if they are treated that way, when used how they are designed they are nearly as effective as live fire training and in some cases even more effective.

 44. Can I buy some punctuation? First off this is a privately owned property. Any past history you or your family have on this property is because the owners allowed. You have absolute zero rights and zero ownership on that tract. It is not public and never has been, although people like to think like it is. People have threatened to burn Gobey for over a decade over our management decisions and it is always false threats. Big deal....light it up, hope they catch em and put em under the jail. Your rant is not only incoherent but it's offense to all private land owners. No one comes to your house and tells you how to mow your yard, what gives you the right to tell Coal Creek how to manage theirs?

 46. I would have done nothing.  There is absolutely no point in escalating a situation when it can be easily diffused by maintaining control of one's emotions.  I carry a gun, and I hope to God that I never have to use it in a defensive situation.

 47. As I have said in the past, the LAST thing I want to do is have to shoot someone.  If there is a easy way out.....take it.  Don't go outside looking for trouble, and if you do, go back inside.  It is simply not worth the time, hassle, questions, prison, and regret.

 48. Being a retired Taxidermist I feel the need to answer your question. Shop for a Taxidermist now before one is needed. Make an appointment (don't just pop in on him) to visit his shop and look at his work. Get a price list and other info such as "turn-a-round" time, deposits, business hours ect ect.   Just field dress your deer (normal field dressing, do not cut up into the brisket area) and take it to your processor. Tell him you want it caped for mounting and he'll know what to do. If he doesn't, go find another processor.   When you pick the head up from the processor place it into a box or leave it open, do not put it in a plastic trash bag. Moisture + lack of air + heat = equals a bad or ruined head before it's mounted. Take it straight to the Taxidermist. DO NOT drive around for days with the head in the back of your truck showing it off to your buddies. They'll be much more impressed with the mount than a decaying deer head!   I hope this helps, and hopefully I answered more questions than I raised. Good Luck and keep us posted.   DaveS
