This is not gun related, but I'm as happy as can be. My son got accepted at The University of Alabama a few months ago. Then he was accepted into the Honors college. Now, we've just received news that he has been accepted into the S.T.E.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathmatics) five year MBA program. I'm so proud of his hard work. Now, I'm going to have to force myself to say... Ro, gag, Ro, gag...Roll Tide! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk11 points

I was looking for something in our employee handbook today and stumbled on this recent change under "causes for forced termination": Possession of a weapon or firearm on company property except when it is kept out of sight in a locked vehicle. Before this, we weren't allowed to have one at all. I'm assuming that this was done to accommodate the new law. At any rate... pretty cool.6 points

I'd choose whichever model comes with a 10hp Briggs&Stratton attached to the reel. ;)5 points

My daughter has her own dog, my wife has her own, and I haven't really had my own "my dog" since I lost my pit bull Princess when I was a kid. She died from heartworms and it destroyed me! This little American Bulldog mix reminds me a lot of Princess minus the color scheme. I named him Roman and lemme tell ya, I LOVE him and he LOVES me! :) :) :) As you'll see, he loves to sleep right now at a tad over 5 weeks old. And he doesn't care if it's comfortable for me or not, I just have to deal with it LOL. Edit: The older he's gotten, I believe he's just a standard pit bull. Not really sure except for appearance on how to know for sure, but I am not going to get him tested, as it doesn't matter to me, I love him because he's my dog.4 points

The dog was created by God to give mankind an object lesson in unconditional love.... Your dog loves you no matter what.... It's no accident that "dog" is "God" spelled backwards.... He is a very handsome pup.... Enjoy him!!!! leroy4 points

For what it's worth, I bought Glocks from dealers that were LE trade ins. They came as pistols with one mag in a padded envelope. There were tons of police trades that didn't have boxes with them. People move. People put stuff in the attic. Trade based on the character of the man you're dealing with, not his lack of factory boxes.3 points

Well, pretty much! This big feller was running down OHB close to the Nolensville Road intersection. My wife after a while and some burger bribing got him to get into her Rogue. She took him to the vet and had his toenails clipped and checked for a chip. He had one, and she got ahold of the previous owner. But she had sold the dog and had no contact info on the person she'd sold him to. We're putting ads up tomorrow and hopefully the rightful owner will get their dog back. I'm sure someone is worried sick. Well, I hope so, I hope he wasn't dropped somewhere! He is HUGE!! 129 pounds and for now he's not sure about me but loves the girls. Anyway, here are a couple of pictures of Mr. P. (My daughter said he's as big as a pony so Mr. Pony it is) :rofl:2 points

I watched the events unfold with a sense of detached interest. I initially supported our actions in Afghanistan, but over time grew to realize that there was a definite element of blowback involved in 9-11. Our decades of interventions in the internal affairs of other nations birthed and nurtured that hatred of us in the M/E and elsewhere. The blood for the events of that day stains the hands of the US government as much as they do any terrorist.2 points

When I was a LEO in Missouri where you are perfectly within your rights to open carry a handgun, my contact with the complainant would be something like this: Me: Good morning sir. You reported a man with a gun? Worker: Yes, officer. We were just doing our jobs trimming these trees when this fella comes out of that house over there and yells at us to knock it off and leave, and he had a gun. Me: Where was this gun? Worker: He had it tucked in the waist of his jeans. Me: If it was in his jeans how did you see the gun? Worker: He wasn't wearing a shirt, and I could see the top of the gun sticking out. Me: At any time did he point the gun at you and threaten you with it? Worker: No, it stayed in his jeans. Me: Did he make any threats of pulling out the gun and using it on you? Worker: No, he just yelled at us to leave. Me: Were you ever on his property? Worker: No, we only work on the easement where we are supposed to work. Me: From what you are telling me he has committed no crime, but I will go talk to him and get his side of the story. I'll also let him know that you are not doing anything unlawful at this time either.2 points

Many people are undeserving of prayers, but Christians are specifically directed to love their enemies. This is NOT the love that society has defined as an emotion, but rather showing kindness. I pray for lots of people for various reasons, and lots of them are not loved by me.2 points

My G30 is my primary on-body carry weapon and I use a Crossbreed Supertuck. I also have an occasionally carry my G21 on-body (although usually it's in a concealed "day planner". Frankly, I think the G30 is an excellent combination of relatively small size with a lot of firepower and, as Glocks tend to be, about as reliable as you could hope for in a semi-auto pistol.2 points

Hopefully they will also.
They have the option to change for their own benefit, but they don't deserve forgiveness from society. For me, there are some things that are just unforgivable. Going to a funeral and telling parents or the wife and kids of a fallen soldier that "God hates your tears" or "Thank God for IEDs" is so heinous that I can't fit it into words. The saddest thing about Phelps passing peacefully is that I won't have the opportunity to chain him to my truck and see how long it takes asphalt to turn human garbage into hamburger. That was the one thing I had to look forward to if I was terminally ill. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk2 points
I am thinking "pray for the souls he left behind", especially his family (but also victims); that they not continue in the path blazed by the old man.
The family that stood by him are beyond forgiveness. The disrespect during funeral services shown to the families that lost their sons and daughters should earn the Phelps clan shunning from society. They deserve to live out the rest of their lives in lonely misery, like their patriarch, then die alone and unwanted by society. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk2 points

Why is that a red flag? Lots of people don't save the factory stuff, or they lose it, or they buy guns used without it. If you ask to see his TN state ID and sign a bill of sale and he declines, or if you have some other reason to believe he is shady then by all means decline the deal, otherwise you should be good to go. But if you insist on running a check you can call your local PD and ask if they will run it for you. Or you can go to any ffl dealer and ask them to do a TICS transfer for you which includes a check for stolen.2 points

No arrests were made, and no charges filed. Confiscated lowers were previously ATF approved. Conjecture: Wanting to suck up to Congressman Ghost Gun (who is trying to pass a law saying 80% receivers are in fact firearms), ATF first demanded Ares' customer list. Ares said no, hell no, and knowing how F-troop operates, got a restraining order to stop a BS raid. BS raid happens anyway - business and homes. ATF gets the customer list, and takes computers, smartphones, and lowers to teach Ares a lesson - Rspect mah authoritay. Ares will have to spend years and hundreds of times the value of the confiscated materiel/equipment - they'll likely forfeit the stuff because it isn't worth it. ATF doesn't care either way, as defending in court doesn't come out of their budget, they get to 'have fun', suck up to a politician or two, get a bunch of free 80% lowers for their in-house enthusiasts, and face zero consequences.2 points

My company has a very vague "no weapons" policy but many of us leave our guns in our cars. How are they ever going to find out? Florida also has a law that says that employers cannot prevent me from keeping a firearm in my vehicle.1 point

Indeed. Repentance and forgiveness does not preclude consequences, retribution, and vindication. But, as individuals, we must render unto Caesar that which is Caesar's, and that unto God which is God's. For a Christian, it is indeed hard to properly process our responses to a repentance from a person of this group. My jaundiced outlook - they probably wont change (beyond the few already escaped), and we will only be confronted with observation of God's judgment and wrath upon these creatures gone rabid.1 point

PJ, my point was that the state park part of the statute didn't require any signs to be changed at all because of the change in law, only for when they might need to be replaced as normal part of park maintenance. Hence, no bucks were allocated at all, so there was no financial burden attached to the thing at all. Seem same could have been put in this, and I wonder why it wasn't. - OS1 point

The only apology needed is the same one we all should send at one point or another here. Opinions and statements that seem coherent and well thought out to us may not always seem so to others. So don't sweat it. Take care of yourself. That's all that need concern you at this time. And if you feel the need to vacation from here for a while; do it with a clear mind. When you are ready to join in, just come back and be welcomed as a long lost brother and friend.1 point

Did you read the story you posted? He was telling a story about a time he was arrested on a warrant for an unpaid fine. It had nothing to do with this incident. RIF. No one was brandishing a gun; there was no gun. But apparently the workers though he had a gun stuck down the front of his pants. You don’t need to have a gun in your hand to make a threat. If you walk out of your house and threaten someone and have a gun stuck in the front of your pants; the chances are pretty good you will be defending yourself on a felony aggravated assault charge. I’m guessing… “There is a nut out here with a gun; send someone out.â€1 point

You must have the agents of Burn A Toddlers First confused with people who give a shit about what the law or Constitution says. If the BATF were to go on Maury, it would look something like this: 1 point

LT Connor is more than deserving of the honor, but belittling another service members contribution is down right ignorant in my opinion. Especially when we have a country that exist on the backs of the very small percentage of volunteers who fight for our freedoms. Sent from my Obama Phone1 point

It will reach our state eventually. We already see tons of liberals influencing our state. At some point we will see the tide turn enough that our guns will be seriously threatened. We have way too many who want something for nothing for our state to not become a liberal stronghold. Stand in Walmart or any other major grocery store after the first of the month and watch the EBT cards fly. And every single one of those will vote democrat as long as they continue to get their cupcakes, coffee, sirloins and lobsters tail for free. And along with those votes for free food comes votes against our guns. I have said it 90% of gun owners would turn their guns in. 7% would hide their guns away and 3% would actively fight. Problem is the 90% would readily rat out the other 10%. People might think I am awful but all those "assistance" or "benefit" programs should go away. And if they can't feed their children then they should do the right thing and turn them over to someone who can. I can guarantee that 90% of the items I see getting bought are not for the kids and if they are then the parents should not be parents. Using most of the EBT money for what I have seen just tells me they are as not bad off as they make people think. I know if I was in dire need, and I have been, I would not waste money on lobster because that is a lot of beans and rice. There should be a lifetime limit on assistance because everyone hits hard times from time to time. Make the lifetime limit 3 years. If you choose to use it from 18-21 then you are done for life. If at age 30 you hit hard times and your benefits have already been used you better have family or friends to take care of you. If you don't then you either starve or work. Too many people think they are too good to work, no wonder when the government is giving them everything. Hunger can be a powerful motivator and I bet those who are starving would gladly work for a few hamburgers a day. I bet people in the states that have constitutional carry are saying that they can't believe people in Tennessee don't stand up and willingly pay for their right to carry a firearm.1 point
