  1. Police are warning all men who frequent clubs, parties & local pubs to be alert and stay cautious when offered a drink by any woman. Many females use a date-rape-drug on the market called ' Beer ' . The drug is found in liquid form and is available anywhere. It comes in bottles, cans, or from taps and in large kegs. Beer is used by female sexual predators at parties and bars to persuade their male victims to go home and sleep with them. A woman needs only to get a guy to consume a few units of Beer and then simply ask him home for no-strings-attached sex. Men are rendered helpless against this approach. After several Beers, men will often succumb to the desires to sleep with horrific looking women to whom they would never normally be attracted. After drinking Beer , men often awaken with only hazy memories of exactly what happened to them the night before, often with just a vague feeling that 'something bad' occurred. At other times these unfortunate men are swindled out of their life's savings, in a familiar scam known as     'a relationship'.     In extreme cases, the female may even be shrewd enough to entrap the unsuspecting male into a longer-term form of servitude and punishment referred to as 'marriage'.     Men are much more susceptible to this scam after Beer is administered and sex is offered by the predatory females.     Please forward this warning to every male you know.     If you fall victim to this 'Beer' scam and the women administering it, there are male support groups where you can discuss the details of your shocking encounter with similarly victimized men.     For the support group nearest you, just look up 'Golf Courses'     in the phone book.

  2. I was driving through northern Illinois last night listening to a call-in program on WGN in Chicago.  People were calling in all upset about the goat's head sent to Cubs owner Tom Ricketts at Wrigley Field. Some guy called in from Indiana and said, "Why are you all so upset cause someone sent a goat's head to Wrigley Field?  Aren't you the guys that sent a horse's ass to the White House". I almost ran off the road!

  3. "I personally am an endowment lifetime member of the NRA and an inductee into the Golden Eagles program," C.J. Grisham, president of "Open Carry Texas," told a CBS Dallas affiliate. "And I will rip up my cards and burn my certificates on camera if they don't change their stance."

  6. That would be the best thing that could happen for the NRA.  I would say "don't let the door hit you in the ass!".  Act like idiots and people will treat you like idiots.

  7. Meant to post this a while back. The Appleseed program finally has a range in East TN again. And it's conveniently located in Wear's Valley. Here's the schedule. There was also one a couple weeks ago, but I'm a slacker and didn't post in time. For those unfamiliar, Appleseed teaches the very basics of rifle marksmanship. The six steps to firing the shot, NPOA, trigger control, etc. And as a bonus they throw in a history lesson about the events of April 19,1775. All at an affordable price because they are non-profit. Even the instructors are volunteers. http://appleseedinfo.org/search-states-location.php?locationid=534&id_event=2972

  12. "It was Mike Gideon who called" is what I said but what she probably heard "It was My Girlfriend who called". By the way I am glad she didn't ask what you were wearing because had you said "Tan Khakis" she would have really thought something was up.   Don't worry, your next trip to K-Town I will remind her it was you that called. :)

  13. I was building a shop for my business and our house that we had for sell surprised us and sold close to Christmas couples years ago. We decided to make half the shop living space and office and other half storage. I let my wife do the bathroom and kitchen just like she wanted. Have a 1500 sqft living area. When we build our house It will become business only. My mortgage on my building is half what my house was. Worked out good so far. 14. Ok I normally do not do this but I felt so strongly about this I figured I would ask for your help. This is not about what an officer has done but is about helping a family get a beloved family member back home to his loving family. If you decide to post ANYTHING negative about LE here I will delete it. Again, this is not about what the officer did but is about helping out Gage and his family. http://www.gofundme.com/9ul7tg I know we have a large group of dog owners and lovers here. Donate what you can because anything will help. If you cannot donate then I ask you to do what you can to help spread the word about Gage and his ever increasing vet bills. This is not my dog but is part of a close knit family of Alapaha bulldog owners. I have donated and will again when I get paid again to help this do and his family out. As of today Gage is sedated with his jaw wired shut as well as being on a feeding tube and his vet bill is rising by the day. Here is a picture of Gage. If you have ANY questions feel free to ask.

  15. Well, went to the range this morning. Had two guns to shoot I bought but had never shot. First one was the M four 22lr I bought from Jonathan. Gun performed flawlessly and was dead on at distance he said it is sighted in at. Disappointed in myself. It has been years since I shot a long gun without a Bi-pod in sitting position and it only took one magazine to remind me of why. First magazine dead on at 50 yards and every round center mass. By the end of first magazine shoulders were killing me with pain. I put in second magazine and had to quit shooting half way through it because of shoulder pain and could not hit center of target. Rested shoulders and finished 2nd mag. Got out bi-pod and sat down with third magazine and new target. 25 rounds could cover hole with half dollar center mass. Great gun, broken old man shooting.  Also shot a LCP I have bought and never shot so moved target to 15 feet and went through 2 mags 14 rounds all in the red so will be keeping that one for my Get Off Me pocket gun. Now have to decide what to do about M four 22lr since I will not beat myself up trying to shoot it.  Getting old sucks!!!!! ..................... :ugh: :ugh: :ugh:

  16. Here's one with their laser stock a bit cheaper. Probably come out to the same after transfer, maybe a bit cheaper. http://palmettostatearmory.com/index.php/10-22-rifle-with-lasermax-11129.html Here's a Remington 597 for well under $200. I like the 597 really well, excellent shooters for the cost and IMO mostly on par with the 10/22. The 10/22 takes a lead in reliability, but for me the fact that the 597 is closer to a full sized rifle more than makes up for it. I have them both and shoot them both, the 10/22 is handier, the 597 is more comfortable to shoot and accurate. http://palmettostatearmory.com/index.php/firearms-clearance/remington-597-22lr-synthetic-stock-20-barrel.html

  17. I know each to his own, I can respect that. My litmus test for "handguns" has always been, is it used by real professionals, LEO, Federal, Military, etc. If yes, then its good for me, if not, probably not good for me. I am sure Kahr is good, but it is not me, plus the Moon thing really gets me! You do know that Kahr's CEO's wife is the model in the Kahr's ads don't you: http://www.kahrtalk.com/showthread.php?p=41117 http://childrenofsunmyungmoon.blogspot.com/2009/07/sexy-guns-sold-by-moons-son-kook-jin.html

  18.   So is Beretta.   Though my Kahr PM9 has been for all practical purposes 100% since first round, I do acknowledge that they likely have a higher % of problematic ones than many of the other big companies.   Part of that though is simply the miniaturization ..  the smaller you go the closer the margin on tolerances between success and failure, and I think you'll find a higher malf rate among small guns vs full sized ones in general. Indeed, it's the only firearm I own that I clean every time I fire it, and sometimes lubed in between if it's resided in pocket for good long while.   Anyway, even if mine had had any probs, assuming they were rectified, would still be carrying it, as there's just not anything smaller I can comfortably pocket carry with same caliber/capability, smooth trigger, etc. Also, and have never understood exactly why, but this little heater doesn't have the least bit of objectionable recoil, something I can't say for some other small 9mm offerings, not to mention even some .380s.   - OS

  20. It is the Delica 4 model. The blade does not come to the end of the handle. It feels good in my hand but the short stubby blade does look a little odd. 21. The 59 series guns are kind of large. Trying to think of a good comparison for you. I guess sort of like a full size sig or a glock 17/21 frame. That may not be the best to tell you, but that's all that comes to mind.   I will say however, it sounds like we are close in hand size; and I prefer the 39 series guns to the 59. But that's just me.   Either way, the 2nd and 3rd generation Smith pistols are very good, and definitely under-rated guns. I bought a 3913 some time back and it is great.

  22. It's a good deal, but if you are concerned about the grip, a double stack probably isn't for you. I have a model 39, which is a single stack predecessor to the pistol you are looking at, and it feels much better in my hands than the 5903.   They are good shooting guns.   I'll bet these are police trade ins. Probably carried a lot and fired little.

  25. Fair deal on a good pistol. If I were going to carry it, I'd get the 5903. If its purpose was to be a range toy, I'd go 5906. I have a 3913 (compact single stack alum frame 9mm) and absolutely love it. Fantastic shooter, and not a single hiccup. Those 2nd & 3rd Gen Smith autos are just great. I love my M&Ps too, but those older guns are so cool looking/feeling. I just have one more M&P to get (5" 9 Pro) and then I'll get back to building the collection of Smith steel autos.

  28.   If you buy from Buds, they have a list of FFL dealers they ship to. If there is a nearby dealer you like working with, ask him about having it transferred there. Transfer fees are pretty much whatever the receiving dealer wants to charge you.   There is a dealer here in the Nashville area. D&T Arms, that gives TGO members a break and only asks 15 for the transfer.   I have seen and heard of fees from that to 75 bucks. It all depends on the transferring dealer as to whether he wants to be helpful or just make  money.

  29.   In that case, I get about 3 extra MecGar mags and you'll have a nice pistols.

  30. The pistol is a great price. But if you plan to buy any more mags the total investment price may get expensive. The mags can be hard to find and are usually pricey when you do find them.   Other than that it's a great pistol. I've shot 2 different ones and they both ran fine.

  31. It's a good deal but I'd fork up the extra cash for the 5906 to get the benefits of a steel frame.
    1 point
  32. I think it is. (provided you have a transfer FFL that's reasonably priced) I bought one and the 5906 for 50 dollars more as well.  Both work perfectly, with quite a bit of holster wear.    Pretty much any fully functional 9mm auto from a reputable manufacturer for at or near 3 bills is worth buying.

  36. I never have understood how carrying AR-15's into a restaurant would convince the state of Texas to change their handgun open carry law. I, personally, do not agree that open carry should be illegal. While I normally conceal carry, I don't go to any extra effort to hide it. But to walk into a family restaurant with a rifle is just stupid. Sounds like a good way to get shot by a concealed carrier who might overreact.

  37. If the goals of these radicals are what they claim they are then they are truly stupid as anyone with two working brain cells should be able to see that their in-your-face tactics only serve to thwart their stated goals.  I suspect, however, that their real goal is truly nothing more than looking for confrontation and attention.   I believe the NRA is 100% correct in its position on these actions and I hope these people do leave the NRA...the NRA already has its quota of idiots; these don't need these clowns.
    1 point
  38. Maybe those open carry groups need to jettison their members that go trolling for attention. They will never achieve their goals because their members do stupid stuff. As long as they back those clowns they will be defined by them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  39. And people think we can only use an IP to ban. We have access to a lot more than just IP and we use a lot more than just the IP to sniff people who are banned out. This guy made it easy because he used the same IP which any 3rd grader can match up a string of numbers.   And we are constantly working behind the scenes trying to figure out who has come back. Do we get them all, nope, but the vast majority of members have unique writing styles and those writing styles are very unique, almost like DNA. Most often it is the writing style that starts an investigation but I also do random checks of people who have been banned days, weeks and even months after they have been banned to see if they have come back. Call it my LE in me but I find it entertaining to look for, find and then boot someone who should not be here.

  44.   True enough ... but TICS (or NICS, or both) does the same, just doesn't seem to catch as many of them for simple 4473 check, don't really know the diff in what's searched, though. The somewhat lame excuse I read somewhere was that without a final determination, they can't be sure that the final charge wasn't copped or bumped to another charge that would be disqualifying.   They also changed their policy on the variable requirements and price for new residents with out of state permits about a year ago, now all must submit to the whole drill and pay full price. Of course, the original policy was their call only, too.   A more blatant disregard for 39-17-1351 though is the shall-issue-within-90 days thang, though it's not too common anymore seems. Personal experience with that myself, with both initial permit, and though renewal is not 90 day specified,  mine took 4 months and that was after calling about it (never did find out what the glitches were in either case). But Lisa told me in person at a gun show about a year ago that they would NOT issue a permit before all background checks came in, regardless of the 90 day provision.   You'll notice that there are very few administrative laws on the books that specify any type penalty for anyone when the state disregards them, eh?   But anyway, main point here is that the OP isn't being treated any differently than anyone else in the same circumstance. You can bitch about the process, but he isn't a special case for discrimination or whatever. He didn't really need a "legal opinion" just explanation of the status quo procedure.   But okay, my "legal opinion" is that the HCP requirement itself is unconstitutional, how's that? :)   - OS
