  8. Some people just never find their big boy pants. Waaaah.   Me? I'm a wop. A dago. Do those terms bother me? Hell, no. I put on my big boy pants decades ago.   Get over it.

  9. Mine came in as well. I hit up Les last week and ordered a few goodies from him. Got myself the clip, a molle clip, dog tag and stickers and a patch. Thanks to everyone involved.

  10. Of those burglars, thieves and armed robbers, how many of them were locked out of the legitimate job market due to convictions for possession? Can you begin to guess at that number? Many folks can do the illicit drug of their choice on a recreational basis and maintain themselves as a productive member of society just as many people can drink alcohol and not end up on skid row hustling for spare change in front of Walgreens. The difference between the two is that if someone is a drunk they don't get thrown in jail on felony possession charges for having a 40 in a paper bag.   That aside, I am still waiting for an explanation on how it is morally justified to tell someone what they can or cannot choose to personally ingest into their own body. I seem to remember lots of folks getting all up in arms about Bloomberg attempting to ban big gulps.

  11.   Junkies are junkies. They're addicted. Threat of arrest will do little to prevent them thieving to pay for their habit. What will prevent them from thieving to pay for their habit is to make the drugs affordable by removing the artificial restriction on supply or getting them some help so they can get clean. I'm no fan of drugs* but the money would be far better spent on rehabilitation.   Pot itself should be decriminalized by end-of-day tomorrow, no questions asked. That it isn't shows there's more to this whole "war on drugs" business than common sense and logic.   (*Caffeine, alcohol and ibuprofen excepted)

  12.   Quite possibly they were effectively being blackmailed to be informants. Now, that's no excuse for what they did but I imagine it could be something that would upset a person.

  13. There are advances being made very day in how to store energy. Graphene is the most promising at the moment. It is a super capacitor that can take a full large instantly and then meter it out. They charged a small piece of grapheme for a couple of seconds and it ran a light source for over 5 minutes. And graphene is super light, super conductive, super cheap to make and once the bugs are worked out will be better than any battery on the market today. They say that if you use it in cell phone you can charge the cell phone in a few seconds and be good to go. This will make filling up a car, or motorcycle, battery quicker than filling up a car. It will also be substantially cheaper to fill up compared to fossil fuels. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eo_1Y_yJZ-o And remember these graphene strips are one (1) atom thick so imagine how many can be stacked together if it was the same size as a traditional battery. There are even home grown scientists making graphene based batteries because it is so easy and cheap to do. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABZ6Sskf-0A Not sure why these are not imbedding but they are definitely worth watching. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G-AF7_Blj_k And graphene is the wave of the future according to IBM. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IWxn_a0dEKI

  14. I’m a Harley rider. I laughed when I saw the V-Rod. I didn’t think it would sell, but I was wrong. Harley is a pretty amazing company. I doubt they just decided to do this. Apparently the top people in marketing and sales in the industry think there is a market or they can create one. Good for them. Anything an American company can do to keep jobs here and offer Americans products made here is a good thing for us all.

  15.   I already told you, it would still be "in your name forever" even if you transfer it through FFL as far as who'd they look for first.    On a trace, they have no way to know what the last transfer through an FFL might be, only the first, by tracing from manufacturer/distributor to first FFL. They'd likely not ever find the second one if you didn't tell them where you did it, though once you did, the second 4473 would prove you did indeed transfer it.   On the other hand, even without doing that or a bill of sale or anything, it takes more than a serial number and your name associated with it to be charged with a crime in which that gun was used.   - OS

  17. Yes because treating a health issue as a law enforcement issue has been sooooo effective thus far. give me a ####in break.     I have still yet to see how anyone can make a cogent moral case for exercising prior restraint on an individual's liberty because of what they "might" do at some point to abuse it. "Drugs are bad and will ruin your life, so if I catch you with them I will arrest you, throw you in jail, and ruin your life," has never made a damn lick of sense to me. 19. Some folks are genuinely offended by it. Some folks are just using the issue as a soapbox to garner a little bit of fame. Some folks take pride in it and some folks just don't give a damn. Regardless of what camp anyone falls into, the government stepping in to cancel the trademarks in an attempt to strong-arm Dan Snyder into changing the name is flat out wrong. To me, that is a far, far bigger issue than the name of a ####ing sports team.

  20. if whitey decides it is alright then it is alright.  Never mind about genocide against native americans.  Whitey pretty f'd over the indians and the indians have never recovered from it.   Now random white people want to justify using a racist word to call a football team.   If Snyder had an ounce of sense he'd be proactive about it and change the damn name already.

  22. Received mine today, I am most definitely eating crow about the design.  It looks awesome!   I bought two, one for the wife and I, but when she opened it we almost had to start a toe injury thread to go along with the finger one.  Maybe we'll wait for the small one for her...   I asked before if these knives came sharpened.  Apparently I've never owned a sharp knife in my life, because these things can cut.  Looking forward to future buys, thanks again.

  23. The name is a derogatory term. It should be changed. We have discussed it all week at work and I converted three people to agree with me once they understood the facts. The basis of my argument: just because everyone says something is okay, doesn't mean it is. Learn the facts for your and decide. Sent barefoot from the hills of Tennessee

  25. I'm starting to doubt that I'll buy a new gun anywhere that's not a vendor here. Maybe Walmart Or Academy I guess, but I can't see a reason to do business with anyone who isn't a vendor. I'd say shoot the thing and enjoy it, if you feel hinky about the whole thing then lesson learned. Greenbriar isn't far from Brentwood/Franklin anyway.

  26. Yes, you probably have a warrant now. Same thing happened to a friend except he misread the date on the ticket. Lucky for him, another friend was also in court that day and witnessed the judge issue the warrant for failure to appear. He called my friend who immediately called the judge's office to plead his case. He did eventually get out of the warrant based on the illegible date on the ticket, but still had to go to court and do traffic school. I'd suggest you call the Decatur Sheriffs office and/or the court house and find out what the story is.

  27. George had a court date yesterday, and the court's website shows he applied for diversion. The felony (class E) charge, Reckless Endangerment-Deadly Weapon, was dropped (nolle prosequi) as was the carry violation (i.e. weapon prohibited). The Reckless Endangerment charge, class A misdemeanor, remains. His next court date is July 2.

  30. Mine arrived today.  It's a very, very nice knife.  Fit and finish is excellent, and function is typical PT perfection.  It's wider and "beefier" than I was expecting... I like it.

  31. I apologize if that seemed like I jumped on you, I posted a picture of The Black lip mother of Pearl button on my TR2 a while back, I will get a better one to give you an idea. Dave himself has told me that he would go with the Ivory Micarta as it will flow better with the Scrimshaw design that we have in mind. Once he does the samples I will post them and get him to put the MOP Black lip button as well as the Ivory Micarta with them, What I plan on doing then is having a voting post to see which design is preferred, what I can assure all of you about these is just like the LG101 they will be made here in the USA with all American parts and be of the highest quality

  32. #49 arrived a few minutes ago.  When I saw the crushed box end, I was worried untill I saw the knife remained in the box undamaged. I'm very impressed with this knife!  It's much too nice to see any rough use.  Many thanks to Willis, TGO and ProTech for making these knives happen.

  33. Finally had a chance to take a closer look at the knife. The quality is obviously fantastic. The actions is smooth and super fast. The anodized TGO logo looks better in person.    The only drawback is the lack of grip/texture on the handle. The handle is extremely smooth and slick. I'm often hot and sweaty when using a knife the most, so I'm not sure how well that would work. I never intended on carrying this knife, so that doesn't really matter. Thank you again to everyone in making this happen.

  35. Just got #6 out of the box and I am quite impressed! The weight is a lot less than it looks like it would be and the spring action is no joke. Tight blade and this thing is just darn sweet!   Till I played with it I planned on using it like any of my other carry knives, but this thing looks so good I don't know if I want to use it as an every day tool.    Any one else plan on using the heck out of it?   Thanks Willis! I am looking forward to the upcoming lineup!

  36. My wife, in the past, used to question the quantity I bought vs what I actually shot. Seems that more came in than went out, so to speak. Then our Prez started his commentaries. She started asking if I had enough. Good woman, in spite of the fact she choose me.

  38.   David,   Appears that while performing RO duties, Paul Hendrix (former USPSA National Title Winner) has been taking time off of the timer for his friends and adding time to those who where completing against his friends.  The + or - of a couple of seconds could have, and most likely did, affect the outcome of several major matches over a number of years.    Its unknown if the friends that Hendrix was helping knew of the cheating.   There is now evidence developing that Hendix may have also fixed the time of the Classifications that he has run.  This would have helped his friends advance and kept other from completing against his friends in a higher classifications.    Bottom line......, this could turn out to be the shooting sports' Black Sox Scandal, Pete Rose, Lance Armstrong, et alia, all rolled into one.

  39. And one more thing. Graphene based batteries, even now at the beginning of development, can already store 6x more energy than a the best battery on the market of comparable size. This means those electric cars that are getting ~200 miles per charge would be able to go 1,200 miles per charge. And because graphene based batteries are like capacitors they do not require hours to charge like conventional batteries. The graphene based batteries are also significantly lighter which would also increase mileage. Graphene is what was needed to get electric vehicle costs down. The majority of the additional cost of elect vehicles is the batteries. But because graphene is so cheap to produce the cost difference should be significantly reduced.

  41. Harley is introducing 500cc water cooled bikes, too. Electric bikes have been around, but now they have a bit of legitimacy.     I think this is exactly what it would take to bring Harley Davidson into the twenty-first century.   There are a lot of cats that want to ride something reliable, nice, good looking, and the brand is less important than the mission. H-D isn't the largest manufacturer in the world, Honda is. Harley just has some of the most closed minded fan bois, just like the Glock or 1911 or Sig mindset that nothing else is good enough.   Harley is a brand, not a bike.   The Livewire might be enough to make them a bike again.   Or at least push someone else to make a better one, which is a nice side effect of innovation.

  44. Holy crap HD just went from 60 year old technology to cutting line technology!  I have nothing against Harleys, it's the majority of the people that ride them that get on my nerves.  It's the whole "I'm being an individual, but I'm going to wear the same gay looking pirate leather costume as all the other individuals" mentality.  Harley Davidson has become nothing more than a lifestyle of what is best described in the motorcycling communtiy as RUBs, that's "Rich Urban Bikers" they never ride anything that has more than 5,000 miles or is more than 3 years old.  Consequently they can't tell you about the last trip they took out west that the bike didn't ride the majoity of miles on a trailer.  The trip to Alaska, or South America, because the majority of HD riders can onl tell you about the beer and barbecue joints within 50 miles of their house.  I'm not bitter, I just ride a 23 year old Honda ST1100, it's ugly, it's dependable, and I ride the crap out of it, don't care what anyone else thinks.
