  1. Light oil on things that rotate and grease on things that slide will get you a long way in life - and will certainly extend the service life of your weapon.

  5.     From what I've read, these functioned like pre-beta samples.            To paraphrase prior conversations I've had....     Manager - "The cost is too high, we've got to implement these changes to get the cost down to our target before launch".  (because I won't get my fat bonus check if we don't)   Engineer - "Those changes haven't been validated.  We need another 8 weeks for that."   Manager - "No, the timeline isn't going to change.  You have to accelerate the validation program."   Engineer - "I can't.  It takes time to produce the hardware and run the tests.  9 women can't have a baby in a month."   <- yes, I actually said that once.   Manager - "Just implement them.  You can smooth out the rough edges later."   Engineer - "It's a lot more than just rough edges...   Launch could be a total train wreck."   Manager - "Whatever, either reduce the cost or senior management will go nuts."   Engineer - "Fine, you're the boss.  But this will probably be ugly."   *train wreck occurs*   Manager - "You idiots!  Can't you do anything?!  I'm sorry mr. senior manager, I have no idea what these dang engineers were thinking not validating those changes...."

  8. And this is the real problem with our current form of government.  Qualified immunity and sovereign immunity...  that the law makers and government bureaucrats get to decide who has 'standing' to challenge their bad behavior in court, and even if they're problem wrong/guilty nothing happens to them...  they don't owe any money... they don't loose their jobs...  the don't spend time in jail.   We need a way for citizens to force the criminal prosecution of a government employee or politician, and completely remove virtually all qualified immunity from government employees.

  9. The sad part is there is no "cost" for the current administration to behave badly, as any penalty or even just the court costs all are paid from the public trough. Thus they have tremendous incentive to behave badly

  12. Another suggestion......   Davidson's offers a lifetime guarantee through their dealers to the first owner.  Did the lifetime guarantee paperwork accompany the firearm?  If not, you may wish to call Davidson's to see if it has already been registered.

  14. My organization, the Competitive Enterprise Institute, broke the story on this earlier this year.  As has been pointed out above, it is a multi pronged attempt to cut off and starve industries Elizabeth Warren, when she was the head of the Consumer FInancial Protection Bureau, deemed risky behavior  In other words consumers buying things she didn't, doesn't, think they should be involed in.   The DOJ is threatening / pressuring banks to cut off banking and access to credit to legal industries the administration has a problem with.  I am at present interested in knowing someone / business, who has been effected and who would like to sue the governmet for cause.  Holdler said Monday he is committed to seeing this operation though.  I hope to stop him in his tracks and we have a history of sucessfully doing just that.

  15. How does it help an officer asking if you ar armed? If you are a "good" guy and answer yes, is his mind any further at ease than if he simply had not asked? If you are a "bad" guy and answer no but really are armed should the officer let his guard down? Seriously its kind of a silly question IMHO, as the person who is not a threat will answer honestly and the person who is a threat will not. Am i missing something here?

  20. I'm so sorry to hear this.   I've been close to a couple of suicides over the years and they've really taught me two things.  One, depression is not a problem, it's a disease.  And two, there have got to be some better solutions for chronic pain management - even if those fall outside of our traditional norms.  Our society treats so many problems with simple patches when there are no easyfixes.  We've got to do a better job on both fronts.

  21. I have bought three new Taurus' and have never seen one that looked that bad, EVER. Glad you are satisfied with their excuse but I am not sure I would have taken it so easily. I do not believe what he said for one second.   Just a suggestion, might want to call Taurus and see if it has ever been in for warranty work.

  31. The buffer spring looks more like a garage door spring extended, I might not be using the correct technical term but the bolt weights maybe 5+lbs and it doesn't have locking lugs like a AR, so I'm guessing I'll refer to it as a blowback..so I don't know who's would be worst....   this video never gets old, especially the second shooter, I just luv it   https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=W5csgxW4tlQ

  39. It will take just 60 seconds to read this and change your thinking.. Please, read to the end. You will be glad you did. Two men, both seriously ill, occupied the same hospital room. One man was allowed to sit up in his bed for an hour each afternoon to help drain the fluid from his lungs. His bed was next to the room's only window. The other man had to spend all his time flat on his back. The men talked for hours on end. They spoke of their wives and families, their homes, their jobs, their involvement in the military service, where they had been on vacation.. Every afternoon, when the man in the bed by the window could sit up, he would pass the time by describing to his roommate all the things he could see outside the window. The man in the other bed began to live for those one hour periods where his world would be broadened and enlivened by all the activity and color of the world outside. The window overlooked a park with a lovely lake.Ducks and swans played on the water while children sailed their model boats. Young lovers walked arm in arm amidst flowers of every color and a fine view of the city skyline could be seen in the distance. As the man by the window described all this in exquisite details, the man on the other side of the room would close his eyes and imagine this picturesque scene. One warm afternoon, the man by the window described a parade passing by. Although the other man could not hear the band -he could see it in his mind's eye as the gentleman by the window portrayed it with descriptive words. Days, weeks and months passed. One morning, the day nurse arrived to bring water for their baths only to find the lifeless body of the man by the window, who had died peacefully in his sleep. She was saddened and called the hospital attendants to take the body away. As soon as it seemed appropriate, the other man asked if he could be moved next to the window. The nurse was happy to make the switch, and after making sure he was comfortable, she left him alone. Slowly, painfully, he propped himself up on one elbow to take his first look at the real world outside. He strained to slowly turn to look out the window besides the bed. It faced a blank wall. The man asked the nurse what could have compelled his deceased roommate who had described such wonderful things outside this window. The nurse responded that the man was blind and could not even see the wall. She said, 'Perhaps he just wanted to encourage you.' Epilogue: There is tremendous happiness in making others happy, despite our own situations.Shared grief is half the sorrow, but happiness when shared, is doubled. If you want to feel rich, just count all the things you have that money can't buy. 'Today is a gift, that is why it is called The Present.

  41. Wow. That's a sure sign of a full surrender.   The R-51 was a great idea, maybe just rushed to completion way too soon. I really wanted to get one based on the ergonomics and size. but just too many negatives on it from day 1.   Very sad.

  43. True, but most systems now automatically run the registered owner when running the plate. If the registered owner has a permit, it will show as you mention. I have setup systems around the country including THP and almost all of them are setup to run both automatically. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
