If it makes you feel any better, there's a guy with a brand new Corvette in our neighborhood. Clearly he's got more money than sense, as yesterday he was out driving around the neighborhood and put it in the bushes going back up his driveway - and got it stuck at the same time. I guess he got it out though, because today I went into the office for a few minutes and saw that he had abandoned it in a ditch.

This is grandstandin pure and simple... It's nothin more than shameless panderin to these single mothers who cant believe their little boys can grow up and turn in murderin, rapin, pillagin monsters... Guns aint the problem; absentee fathers, no fathers, and a matriarchial society that chooses to not to address the real problems are...    leroy

Haha, she's not much. But no shedding and small poop. Ha. I dug the FJ out and drove around. It's a champ. But honestly the LR4 is unstoppable. It's active 4wd management makes it hard to get stuck if you tried. So we drove it most. I was shuttling people all over town.

  It wasn't an order, it was a request, and a request the open carrier has no reason to acquiescent to.  Watch the second video down in the link (an LEO followed him to another business) and the LEO's flat out said that he told the business owners, "we can't order you to present your...ahh...permit." http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=667_1452648888   So, why the issue?  The open carrier was harassed by the LEO's because he dared to open carry a firearm, as he was qualified by his state to do. Respect goes both ways, once they disrespected the carrier, they lost his respect, as they would mine.  I also would have been just as uncooperative as the open carrier were I in his place.

I would reverse that.  I think 45ACP will be easier to learn on (unless you already have the .380 dies).    .380 is much lighter wall,  much shorter and harder to handle (finger-wise).  Easier to crunch, and OAL is a bugger to set until you get acclimated.    BTW, If you plan to crimp, I suggest a set of Lee Factory Crimps on either.

The problem with just obeying unlawful orders is that you make it OK if you voluntarily comply and then you have NO complaint to make. When you voluntarily comply then you have just willfully given up your rights to the bully cop and that negates your complaint. If I am truly in violation of the law I expect I WILL be arrested for that violation and go through the system, and rightly so,  but when I am breaking no laws and I am approached by officer friendly because he wishes to exert some of his perceived power over a law abiding citizen then that's when I stand up for my rights and don't voluntarily give them up so easily. I will be as polite as I can be all the while doing so. I also believe in my right to record such encounters, after all, cops don't lie, do they?

Kind of off subject but what would happen or how would you act if you do not take your medications?   Not everyone who can own a firearm should own a firearm. I am not saying that is the case with you but you need to take a really hard, and honest, look at yourself to determine that. If YOU think you will be fine, and have not been committed or had a judge weigh in on your case, then buy the firearm. And by fine I mean when you can't or don't take your medications. A lot of people with mental conditions think they can stop taking their medications and that can end with bad results. If that describes what would happen if you quit taking your medications then you might take a really hard look at whether you should really be owning a firearm.   We just do not want anyone to use a firearm to harm themselves or others if it can be helped.   Good luck.

I promote the 2nd by carrying, and supporting others who carry.  I don't support one method of carry over another.  Having said that, I don't think it advances the cause to be an ass about it, from either side.  Many, unfortunately on both sides, have agendas and all they want is confrontation for either publicity, for or against, the cause or attention seeking.

My wife and I were sitting in our warm home enjoying the morning, and seeing the great view of the clean snow. Well we heard some activity out front. So I slid on my lackey and walked out to my neighbor and his 2 sons clearing the snow out of my walk and driveway. I was floored. He told me he was just paying back. He told me his mother lives up north and every time there is a snow. His mothers walks and drive is cleared for her by neighbors. Makes you understand there are still men in this world who know how to show their sons what values and character is. We are blessed

This week has sucked. On Wednesday, during the first round of snow, wrecked my truck. Slid into the concrete wall seperating the N/S lanes on interstate. $2800 estimate $500 deductible. Yesterday trying to make it to work, slid wife's car into ditch about 100 yards from the house. Wife twisted her ankle trying to help, nice guy stops to pull me out, he busts his tire on a concrete culvert that was covered up with snow. Only thing he has to hook to is the rear axle of wifes car, gets me out and home. He un hooks and is gone before I can even offer to help him out. Then this morning driving wifes car to work and has a very noticeable shimmy in it, not sure if the axle is bent or tire needs balancing or just a lot of ice and snow build up. But I am like WTF? It just keeps getting worse. I am going to hibernate and not come out until June. Rant off.

I would agree .45acp is probably better to start on. Larger case and bullets are easier to handle, I hate how small 9mm feels when swapping to loading that caliber. It's a low pressure round, a variety of powders work for it. I use W231 and Titegroup usually. Watch out for the primer pockets, .45 can be large or small primer so have to separate.

Prices only go up on guns that other sellers have for sale. Try selling your own and you will quickly find out that your guns have gone down in value

A Subaru rear ended me Friday on the way to work, Driver had a case of what I like to call Subris.(excessive pride or confidence in a Subaru's abilities) Not sure I could say that a Ford would have stopped, but I'd put money on it that an edge wouldn't have sustained nearly as much damage.

You may want to check the Honda CRV. Rated very high. My brother has an awd out in Boulder and has no complaints.

Aren't those Rovers great?  I have a Discovery II (212kmi) and love it.  I let my neighbor use it when he couldn't get up the drive.  His wife called it a rough riding African safari vehicle but it got them everywhere. :up:

You dont need to show the guys your DD-214, as far as your discharge since it was admin/medical it would be considered a General Under Honorable or even Honorable under the characterization. I hope they gave you the right diagnosis - I got command referred to speak with the shrinks when I left Group and PCSed to Campbell and they tried to say I was bipolar only to have the head psych say I had PTSD. Either way, whether or not they botched it, worsened it, misdiagnosed it or were right - unless a military judge or civlian judge ruled you are mentally insane (insanity is actually a judicial/legal thing - not medical) then you are fine. You can feel free to PM me since I am too familiar with BPD - I imagine as long as youre not hypermanic with delusional tendencies (which I doubt) youll be fine. I hate the stigma that behavioral disorders are given, dont let it get you down. Remember; you are not your illness.   I would say practical application could be an active shooter scenario in a building, a lot of doors don't lock.  However, I don't foresee myself carrying one of these around all the time when it would be needed lol

Interstates are now clear as far as traffic blockages are concerned.  Other roads are problematic going up and down hills. Between traffic and not knowing how to drive in snow, I saw several problems last night driving Donelson Pike and Nolensville Road, mostly going uphill.  The interstates were okay, but had patches of ice.

This is why it's so easy to divide the gun community. We all claim, falsely, that we're willing to fight and die for our right to keep and bear arms, but the moment someone actually does fight for his rights by refusing to bow to a cop who just won't take no - a legal no at that - for an answer, we jump all over the guy and call him names rather than supporting his stand against tyranny. Well, I am 1000% on the side of every single person who has ever open carried and refused unlawful orders on the part of police. This is in no way to be construed as a blanket attack on police, by the way. In case you didn't know, you can be pro-liberty without cop bashing. But when a cop asks for something he doesn't have a right to and is told no, he just needs to move his ass right the fuck along. No, nor should you unless he's between you and door. If you can get your loved ones out, get them out. That's really selfish, but that's life. Doesn't mean if his head is wide open and an easy shot with no chance of collateral damage, I would NOT take the shot, just that I'm all about me and mine first. So should everyone else.

I'd like to see a TICS exemption too for handgun carry permits, but I don't think it will go anywhere because of the perceived fiscal impact on the state.   I think removing the no gun fine signs would be easier and might be able to fly under the radar just like the gun in cars law did a couple of years ago.  Cut the law out or heavily modify it to basically a trespass issue and there is no way there could be any fiscal impact on that sort of change, so it won't get tied up in committee.  Get the NRA and other groups to push for it.    School carry would be tougher and receive a lot of media attention.  You could possibly make it legal at private schools, but I doubt it would get anywhere if it included public schools.  Constitutional carry and open carry would receive a lot of media attention too and you'd have a the state government claim that it will lose money from people not buying handgun carry permits. 

Two states don't have to have a agreement for you to be able to carry there. I don't think we have a formal agreement with AL but they still recognize TN permits. I wouldn't want to see TN not allow VA permits. Two wrongs don't make a right.
