Millions of soldiers all over the world have gone to war with "mil-spec" triggers for a couple of centuries and did just fine. Unless you're target shooting with a military rifle, what does it matter? I rarely screw with triggers... just learn how they break.

I've been wanting to build a AR pistol for a long time, and that day finally came I purchased a 80% lower and had a friend set the machine up, no drill jig was used , and it only cost me 1 drink to push the button on the machine. I seriously doubt that anyone while receiving fire thought, gee my trigger isn't as slick as it could be. I run mil-spec in all my ARs some with PSA polished simply because they were on sale. I may polish them if they feel too rough to suit me. I can see having upgrade triggers for precision competition shooting or long range precision when the chips are down. I don't fault those that want them, I just don't feel the need. I can buy a lot of ammo for the price of one.

BTDT David. Mine went from viral to bacterial and therefore required antibiotics...and my "flu swab" was negative, and I had the influenza vaccine in 2016 for the 1st time since 1975...because it was mandatory for my workplace. (Emergency Room). We've seen quite a few people with obvious influenza. I would guess that 75-80% had the flu vaccine. Not all of them "popped positive" for our flu swabs, which is not unusual. Our physicians will generally, usually, treat them based on symptoms and examination, and if within the first 24-48 prescribe anti-viral medications (as most folks know, antibiotics do not work against viruses.), but a virulent virus can weaken the immune system and allow a bacterial infection to set in...therefore requiring antibiotics...it's a conundrum my friend. fwiw in the over 40 years that I have not had the flu vaccine, I also have not had the flu... Even the CDC will admit that the flu vaccine is only effective about 50% of the time,even though they tout that the effectiveness is close to 90% at other times...it's not even near 90% from what I've witnessed over the past decades. Not even close... Physicians are hesitant to prescribe antibiotics without sound cause, and for good reason, as antibiotics have been so over-prescribed, or inappropriately prescribed, for so long that we are running out of effective antibiotics to treat some pretty virulent bacterial infections. That said, if you are hacking up green phlegm, febrile, and have an elevated white blood cell count...well, antibiotics might just be in order... Disclaimer...this is not medical advice, just and opinion and observation.

I tried to get tickets from my three representatives but no luck. Guess I don't have enough pull. Going anyway. I figure it might be the last one I'm at all interested in. Looks like the weather won't be bitterly cold. Taking a bus trip package so I don't have to deal with the traffic and getting around. I hope there is some excitement, but not too much if you know what I mean.

I am not much of a sweets guy. For those that have met me, I know that is hard to believe but it is true. Well today the office received a gift basket and in it was an original Goo Goo Cluster. A Nashville original since 1912. Man, I forgot how good these thing are. Not a fan of the supreme or peanut butter but the original is damn good.

This was little more then the .38 S&W round with a .200 grain soft lead bullet which was actually pretty effective. The .S&W Victory in .38 Special was widely issued to U.S. Civilian Guards at strategic sites, military personnel and Allied troops. Both the .38/200 and .38 Special S&W Victories went though a production modification and later incorporated refit of earlier production items to incorporate a hammer drop device later introduced to post WWII S&W revolvers. The S&W Victory in .38 Special is not rated for use with +p ammunition.

Today's Goo Goo don't hang a shine on the ones pre 90's when the marshmellow was REAL. You could buy the mistakes cheap because the marshmellow and carmel done leaked out. The new ones are to stiff and hard.

I found this on Rimfire Central several weeks ago, and it has been driving me nuts. I thought I would post here to see if I could get some other people interested. Misery loves company, right? Print as actual size. The bullseye should print just under 1 5/8". My best is 7/10 so far. I have done that over and over, so I'm about to lose it since I can't get that 8th round in there. But I've really been having fun with it. Ammo inconsistency and wind has been killing me. When you complete the challenge post a pic of your target along with details on your rifle, scope, and ammo used. If several people get interested in this I may offer up some sort of prize or drawing like they did over at RFC. Good luck!

Nice. I'm getting ready to upgrade the cart on mine to an Ortofon 2M Blue. The next big upgrade is going to be a dedicated phono preamp and I know the built in one is really stepping on the sound.

I would rather be well trained, I don't compete so don't need anything super duper. I can put a magazine into an 8" plate through a VTAC shooting barrier with any of my carry guns, and can close that from a bench. With my rifles I can do the same through the barrier and can put a round where I want in a deer. Nice triggers are great, no doubt, I just don't need one. As with your analogy, I would take the Honda and have enough money to get cross country, if I take the Ferrari, it would stay in the garage while I save up enough to pay for the gas.

Mil spec triggers are fine for their intended purpose. Extreme durability. They work fine for 90%of what the rifle is used for. But when you want to shoot faster, with better precision or more tactile feel I the trigger you change it out. A Honda will get you from A to B. But depending on your needs, a Ford Raptor, Rolls Royce, Lamborghini, or Kawasaki Ninja is going to be the better option if it's available.

I've posted here about this same thing before. If I'm doing a build, I may get a polished trigger, such as PSA's, but I haven't messed with any of my handgun or other rifle triggers. Now, my Kimber's trigger is much nicer than my Glock, but it hasn't kept me from using the Glock more.

I've got several of the 40" x 72" moving blankets that I bought for $3 each on a super sale. They are very handy at the gun range and a perfect size for the shooting benches at my range. I've also got one I use under the vehicles when working on them. After it gets too greasy or oily, I throw it away and open a new one.

I agree. Learning how to shoot with any trigger you use is a great skill to have. I have no problem if you want to change a trigger out, but it's definitely not necessary unless you're going for super precision, match shooting etc. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I've never had a flu shot. Now, flame me all you want but, if I'm around people that are sick, I'll take echinacea. I've been told "that stuff doesn't work, it's all in your head." Well if my mind is that powerful then so be it. All I know is I'm not at the doctor getting Tamiflu and whatever else. (knocking on laminate wood and particle board )

The last "flu shot" I had was over 30 years ago, made me sick for a week. I do get sick 2 or 3 times a year, I stay home because of a fever. Takes about 3 days to feel better and have no fever before I go back to work. Till more is done to up the percent of prevention I wont be taking the "flu shot". I know some will be upset at this thinking I should do more to stop the spread, well I am, I stay at home with a fever. I am a firm believer in building up the immune system naturally. I was playing with cars in the mud as others were play in their room staying "clean". Getting sick is a good thing sometimes.

The Show of Shows in Louisville next month is a HUGE military show. It is well worth the drive IMO. I am a life member of the TN Military Collectors and it is a nice show... but I do wish that it would become a much larger show. Purely is about how much you can do at once. I have over 10 wireless devices in my household and with kids they can suck up pretty much all you can get. It is hype for the average household but as more things are connected, it gets closer to being neccesary. It should not be as expensive as it is though.

Got the FoxPro Inferno call, looking forward to breaking it in after deer season is over. We have been hearing a bunch of yotes on our morning hunts, awesome to hear, but man I hate them. We got some dog proof coon traps, we haven't set them out just yet at the family plot, but life keeps getting in the way. Was told by a friend to try putting castor oil around the traps just to draw them in a bit with the odor, anyone try that? Hoping to knock out some of our coon population here before trapping season ends, pretty sure we see them more than anything else on the game cameras unfortunately. Would be great to get rid of some of our coyotes and raccoons, help out our turkey and deer numbers a bit.

Just doodling around on you tube and vevo tonight and sort of wound up with this. Saw them live at Municipal Auditorium in early 70's. Started out with Marshall Tucker band, then Charlie Daniels band end headlined with Black Oak. I still have most of their albums - really liked the hard southern rock they did then. Saw Jim "Dandy" Mangrum at Daytona Bike Week around 2000 - his daughter was singing as well - she looked great. He looked like the next video. Oh how age catches up with us. Memories are best.
