Picked up one today. Went to the range and ran about 200 flawless rounds through it. Shot it side my side with my vp9 and vp9sk. Trigger was great and gun shot really smooth. Minimal felt recoil and more accurate than I.2 points

South Korea went from a third world country to a first world economy in a generation. I suspect they became pretty adept at “borrowing” their share of good ideas.2 points

In the spirit of what are we as gun owners doing from an activism perspective: Last night I attended a meeting of “Common Ground” - a local Nashville group whose mission is to create dialogue to “bridge the red/blue divide”. The topic was guns and was the second meeting in a row on the topic. (i only learned of this for the 2nd) I am always wary of the word “conversation” to describe any such meeting, as its often code word meaning the “Left will tell you what to think”...but I went anyway, figuring that if I dis not it, what information would otherwise neutral minds leave with. Here is what I found The group of around 30 people, mostly all white and upper class were presented with three “experts” to briefly talk about their views/position on guns and “gun violence” Unsurprisingly, a woman from Moms Demand Action was one “expert”, but then members of the local Well Armed Woman chapter were there as well, along with a Metro Police officer. What I learned: The police shared the fact that they now share bullet forensic data with a national database and have learned that most gun crime is committed by a small number of people with the same gun - meaning that for example of 100 gun crimes committed, it may be from only 10 guns/people. Thus the bad apples are truly bad but small in number. He shared straw purchases are a big problem and wished that gun prosecutions were stiffer. The MDA lady parroted their talking points - you know them so no need to repeat. I was impressed with the poise of the Well Armed Women who made the argument for better education on the nature of the 2A. We then broke into smaller groups and discussed what we learned from the “experts” that surprised us, and then began a pretty open free for all on what to do about “gun violence” and what we would want to know more from the “experts” Notably a quick poll of our group found that it was split equally between those who wanted to eliminate the 2A, those who did not, and those who wished to modify it. Those who wished to eliminate it used the same arguments we are all familiar with - the 2A does not mean all arms, you don’t “need” an deadly ar-15, etc etc. the ones in the middle I quickly figured out just lacked information on what the current laws actually were and why certain “common sense proposals” might not be common sense or may be illegal or otherwise lead to unintended consequences. What I found was standing up for the 2A as an absolute right (which it is) makes you sound like an extremist, yet demanding its absolute removal does not.....strange.....but wait....theres more As we went around this issue of the nature of the 2A I was able to educate the group on Heller and McDonald. I said whether you like it or not, the SCOTUS has affirmed the 2A and specifically the ownership of weapons in common use (ie not nukes which one wag tried to argue was therefore allowed under an expansive view of the 2A). That matter being settled, I said regardless of ones personal views, any discussion on guns in America must take place in the context of McDonald. Unsurprisingly the banners refused to recognize the validity of a SCOTUS decision they did not agree with. I was able to explain the 4473 background check, why there is opposition to Universal Background checks (requires a government list of gun owners and could be used for confiscation), What I found is that the people in the middle were responsive to the information versus the emotional arguments. In fact, the emotion might have brought them to the table but they want a “meal” of useful info. Did i change any minds? Of those who wanted to ban the 2A - no. Of those who want to”modify it? Absolutely. I had a couple of one to one convos after the meeting and it was amazing to learn what people would say in private vs in a group. And we were all strangers so it should not have mattered! Bottom line - Show Up. Speak sensibly and educate people. Ignore the crazies and speak with those who are persuadable. PS: at the end of the meeting the Moms lady asked for a group photo, which i thought was particularly inappropriate since it was not her meeting but rather one she was a guest speaker at. I asked if it was for her groups facebook page and yes was the answer. I refused to participate and took her to task for not informing those in the pic of her intentions. Hello All , I am a recent refugee from that far west state , you all know the one with all the "good weather". Got tired of the political state , the cost of living , and no tbeing able to play with my grand kids. My son moved his family here for a job , and talked me into moving here . I know not all people from the "Golden State" are welcome , but give me a chance , I am an old man and have been retired for 20 years so I can be a pain and grouchy at times. I sure like living in a Free State , at least there is more freedom here , and so far the people are nicer , traffic is now where to be found , and no Moonbeam governor .1 point

I was GM at a Kia dealership for 4 years. Great vehicles. Hold up great in crashes. Should see the pictures of a Sportage customers brought me from a wreck they were in. They walked away unhurt, and I don't know how they even survived it was crumpled so bad.1 point

I’m still not convinced. The first time I rode in a car with them and didn’t know about it I thought I had an accident, lol.1 point

I don't know how any of the liberal judges could retire in good conscience as long as Trump is around with a senate majority. They will hang on for dear life, I figure.1 point

I might have had a 30-378 weatherby mag, at one point . Ask me if I still do ? That rifle taught me a lot about getting excited about theoretical ballistics, so I guess it served its purpose.1 point

This one runs on a 6.8SPC bolt, right? While I can see the appeal, I bet it’s hard on brass.1 point

Meh, it's not a better mousetrap. Other than being able to feed out of a standard AR mag, I see no advantage over a .22-250 Anyone remember the .223 WSSM? It's reminding me of that. It'll be the best thing in the history of EVAH until once again, everyone realises it isn't.1 point

Caetano opinion (2016) Reaffirmed Heller/McDonald allows ownership of weapons in common use “today” and reprimanding Massachusetts Supreme Court for denying Heller by allowing a conviction of a woman who used a stun gun against a domestic abuser which was unlawful in Massachusetts because it was “not invented in 1789” - an argument the court in Heller found “bordering on frivolous”. Particularly relevant today since the same Massachusetts supreme court followed the same line of arguments to uphold the state “assault weapons ban”. Expect it to be overturned on appeal for the same reasons as Caetano. https://www.supremecourt.gov/opinions/15pdf/14-10078_aplc.pdf Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk1 point

I’m with Ronald; I would need to have a real world reason for adding another caliber. No need for another designer round. .308 is a proven performer at 1000 yards. I don’t think the fact you can put the upper on an AR-15 lower will make it a hit; but we will see.1 point

I have an EMP40 with the 3" barrel and steel frame. The 9mm does well with the lighter frame but the 40 needs the steel frame. It has been 100% reliable and accurate. However if I get the new model it will be a 9mm.1 point

I’d argue that both parties are just as dependent on Wickard at this point - as they’re two sides of the same coin - both serving their own interests over the people’s Wickard may be one of those rulings that we’ve simply moved too far to go back. It would take justices willing to set the whole system on fire to decide it was wrongly decided in ‘42. As much as we decry the loss of freedom - the states have willingly ceded authority to the federal government. What was originally a few bucks here and there has turned into a lot of states that wouldn’t be able to support basic services for its people if that happened. A lot of states here in the south would be at the top of that list.1 point

I can't get excited about yet another caliber..... I have enough as is. But I am the guy that does not get real excited about the detail specs of the round. So many are so close that practically there is no difference in normal use. Now competition might be different.1 point

If many of this enlightened age knew who previously owned the land Arlington now occupies they would probably demand it be shut down and graves moved out. I certainty don’t have a say in it but if they are running out of space they might need to tighten up the requirements for entry.1 point

Most all my family members have been cremated as I will be to save space in the Family Cemetery. We even have stack burials for cremeted members. My mother is buried on top of my father with a smaller double stone marker and there are a few others planning the same thing. I will be buried on top of Margie my wife when I go and the marble stone is already there and dtae will just be added.1 point

Cremation takes up a lot less space and costs a lot less. Just sayin.1 point

Thanks - one thing about the Left is that they show up and make themselves seem more powerful/popular by doing so. We must do the same and not cede the battlefield of ideas to them. Ever. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

The second gentleman said what needed being said and he was speaking for every law abiding gun owner across this country. He said it without a written speech or a rehearsed speech but from the heart and he was point on about the criminals not turning in their guns and the police not being able to go and collect the gang member guns. I liked what the first guy said about more than half the members on that counsel that preach against the 2nd Amendment but yet many of them have carry permits and go armed and when it was brought up at a previouse meeting about making it public record of all gun owners and who carries and all of a sudden when the counsel members learn that thir names will be on that list they voted against it. I love it when a civilian or civilian group can trap a bunch of elected officials when they try to pass somethng and exempt them from it and they get caught and have to do a bunch of back stepping to cover their exposed BUTTS!!!!.......JMHO1 point

Everyone that I know who owns one of them says the improvements aren't just in the grip length. They say the trigger is better than any other Glock due to changes in the trigger system and/or sear. Also, the explanation I've heard several times now for why the grip length and slide length work so well for certain applications has to do with who the pistol was originally designed for. Keep in mind it was designed as a contender for the joint service pistol. Anyone wearing body armor with side panels needed a shorter slide so that they weren't drawing "all of that gun" out of a holster and trying to clear it past their armor.1 point

Saw a bunch of hens being seduced by a tom last week at dusk. Got to see them all roost in the trees. Watching that tom getting airborne was hilarious- he needed about 25 yards of”runway” to get up in the air. I began to wonder if he would make it [emoji38] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

This is great advice. I treated all of my customers as I would treat my mother. Never oversold or lied to them. Followed up with handwritten birthday, anniversary, annual events cards. I missed a few sales along in being honest with people but oh how it served me well. Your reputation will spread like wildfire, good or bad. I had some clients for 25 years and they still call me now when ready to trade just asking advice since I'm no longer in the business. Treat people well, make an honest living and you will do fantastic.1 point
