1.   I'm pretty sure that when you are on your cell phone and your child is yelling explicit profanities behind someone in the line at McDonald's, the jerk isn't the one asking you to keep your child to behave.

  3. Well, I have been smoke free for 35 days as of today. I smoked for 57 years and didn't think I would ever quit. I had tried a few times and made it a few days is all. Ya'll are gonna laugh at how I did it to this point but it's the truth. My old dog goes every time the Jeep moves and about the 4th of July we had been out running errands and she was in back seat with paws and front half of her up front on console looking out front window and I had a/c running and noticed the jeep was kinda full of smoke from Cigarette I was smoking and I realized that my old dog was breathing all that secondary smoke all the time both in the jeep and house. I made her a promise I would quit smoking and on July 3rd at 9:45 at night before going to sleep I smoked my last cigarette. Have not had one since. Had 3 packs on table in kitchen and gave them to a guy that smokes that came by the house. Gathered up all my ash trays, rinsed them out, put them in dishwasher and washed them and put all but one up in a cabinet. Left one out for company that stops in that smokes. Every so often I catch myself reaching for shirt pocket but not as much as that first week.  I am beginning to be able to smell things I had not smelled in sometime.  Foods are beginning to taste different. Still will miss them like after a meal or especially with morning coffee but it is getting easier. I don't plan on losing this fight or breaking my promise to my old dog................

  4. Just had to pass this one along.   I was 14 when I went in to buy a packet of condoms at Walgreen's pharmacy. In those days it took a lot of guts to go in a store and ask for that kind of item because everyone in town knew me and there was no doubt the young lady (I think her name was Becky) knew what they were for. She was working as an assistant behind the counter, and she could see that I was really embarrassed by the whole procedure. She handed me the package and asked if I knew how to wear one. I honestly answered, 'No, not really.' So she unwrapped the package, took one out and slipped it over her thumb. She cautioned me to make sure it was on tight and secure. I apparently still looked confused. So, she looked all around the store to see if it were empty. It was. 'Just a minute,' she said, and walked me into the back room, unbuttoned her blouse and removed it. She unhooked her bra and laid it aside. 'Do these excite you?' She asked. Well, I was so dumb-struck that all I could do was stand there with my mouth open and nod my head. She then said it was time to slip the  condom on. As I was slipping it on, she dropped her skirt, removed her panties and lay down on a desk.  'Well, come on', she said, 'We don't have much time.' So I climbed on her. It was so wonderful that, unfortunately, I could no longer hold back and KAPOW, I was done within a few moments. She looked at me with a bit of a frown. 'Did you put that condom on?' she asked.  I said, 'sure did,' and held up my thumb to show her. Then she beat the crap out of me.... Women have always been hard for me to figure out.

I can shoot it more accurately than my 70 series Colt Gold Cup, and it has yet to have a failure of any kind. I have no complaints, and would buy another one. I think they are one of the best handgun values available today.

  15.   I disagree.  Maybe the kid didn't learn it, but hopefully the mother did.  There are consequences for your actions.  This will eventually register with the kid.  Too bad he has a mother that probably isn't smart enough to figure it out herself.  Anyone I know who's kid was acting that way would have high tailed it out of there with complete embarrassment.     What are the guys consequences....he looks like a nice guy to his co-workers by bringing in pies.  I call that a win-win.

  18.   No, hence my statement that she isn't probably smart enough to figure it out herself.  I don't really care if the kid understands it.  Kids don't understand many things, this will just be one more of the mysteries of life to him I guess.  Too much is made of kids 'feelings' these days for me.  I wouldn't have made it to the door without an ass whoopin if that was me as a kid.  The last of my worries would have been if I was getting pie.   We all know it isn't the kids fault he is a PITA and you can't simply knock the shit out of stupid parents as much as you would like to so this seems like a good alternative.  I always like creative solutions to problems  :pleased:

  20. Did this guy work in a gun store?  It sounds like the overweight guy with the bad wig that used to blow cigarette smoke in your face at Gun City.  Yes, the one that carried a revolver cross draw in a nylon holster, and was an "expert" and a "national shooting champion".  Yes, the one that intimated that he had won lots of gun fights and had always walked away after smokin' a bunch of bad guys.   If I can find the article again, I will post a link.  I read about velocity changes using the same powder charges but going from a cast lubed bullet to one that was powder coated.  In this article, there was an increase in velocity for the PC bullet.  The author suggested this was because of REDUCED friction from a PC bullet over a cast and lubed bullet.   As always, start your load at the published minimum and work up gradually until you get the best accuracy.  Let your gun tell you which is the best load.

  24. I look back and realize I was somewhat sheltered when I was a kid. I never heard my dad say the f word. He only said damn like once or twice a month. I didn't even know what the f word was till I was maybe 12 or 13. Now I wish I still didn't know what it was.
    2 points
  25. I am 43 years old and I still remember the first and only time I used the f-word in front of my mom. I was either 18 or 19 and we were riding down the road in a late 80's dodge grand caravan and she was giving me a chewing over a bad decision I had made and I finally said, " what the F do you want me to do about it." What came next was me pulling my face off the passenger window after absorbing a right cross. Problem solved. Still don't use the f-word around mom even telling a joke. Keep in mind my mom was 5'4" and 140lbs and I was 6'2" 230.

  26. I was having similar issues with my Rugar LCP and a buddy of mine told me I was not gripping the gun hard enough allowing it to move in my hand. I went back to range a week later and gripped it like vise grips and went through 5 mags with no issues. Do't know if that may be your situation or not but just wanted to tell you what my issue was..............
    2 points
  27. LCP - Make sure the mags were inserted properly.  Make sure your hand isn't rubbing on the slide and slowing it down during operation.  Make sure you've got a firm hold on the pistol, little guns are more sensitive to limp-wristing than larger ones.    G19 - brass to the face isn't unusual.  I don't own one but a friend's did that.  Some say it's worn mags, some say worn extractors, some say dirty gun, some say limp wristing, ...

  30. The bottom line here is that you are factually incorrect AB. You certainly have a right in this example, a right NOT to go onto the property if it makes you feel unsafe to do so unarmed. I can tell already that its unlikely you would be welcome long on mine, and carrying a gun has nothing to do with that. We have rules here, and in an effort to stay compliant with them I'll close by simply saying that your ideals and positions expressed above are those of a petulant child, and I can't help but wonder how many Che shirts you used to have before embracing the communist, er I mean, simplistic, property free lifestyle you seem so sure is the answer to the problems of a group of people you don't know? I'm guessing 3.
    2 points
  31.
Unless those rules are irrational, or it is obvious that I am disobeying it. I think the homeowners would have noticed if I had walked into the study group with a loaded shotgun and would have said something. I had a concealed handgun, so no one was the wiser. I had to weigh the options, me with a gun, combat experience, and multiple training courses vs some liberals with none and no guns, so I picked myself. I could see asking someone to leave who was acting in a dangerous manner, obviously. But as for self defense, since it's my life, I have to choose to follow the best option for myself, and it is irrelevant what a business owner thinks in that regard. Just because someone is rich and owns the company I work for, doesn't give them the right to tell me every single manner in relation to everything. They can dictate rules on how the job is done, that's it. Otherwise people are in danger of losing freedom and becoming slaves to the employer. Anyways, guess we will just have to disagree on this. Yeah, if someone comes on your property that is a danger to you or your family, in an obvious manner, yeah, you gotta take care of that. If someone asks me to leave, I will, for whatever reason. That part doesn't bother me. I just have an issue with private property owners having absolute rights, that is like feudalism in the middle ages, and something the constitution was against.
This all makes sense if you're a communist that doesn't believe in personal liberty. I strongly believe in personal liberty, so long as the liberty you take is not infringing on someone else's.

  32. Now, I don't even use FaceBook because but I don't necessarily go along with the hype here. That is not to say that they aren't doing a lot of things against privacy, but:   Change the state of network connectivity (I could not really think of a reason for this unless it has something to do with identifying when the phone is on cellular vs WiFi [for features such as only send photos on WiFi])   Call phone numbers and send SMS messages (I don't even know 100% what the app is for but this probably is there so you can click the "Invite Friends to FaceBook Messenger" button and then it sends them a text message doing so)   Record audio, and take pictures and videos, at any time (This is there so within the Messenger app you can click the photo button to take a photo within the app and send it along)   Read your phone’s call log, including info about incoming and outgoing calls (Not 100%. Could be used to see who you call most in order to give you a "favorites/most contacted" list so you can quick contact those people without adding them all to the list manually.   Read your contact data, including who you call and email and how often (This is probably so that you can click a button titled "Find My Contacts on FaceBook". It would dig through your contact data and try to match that data with people on Facebook. Then it shows you a list of who you want to add as a friend.   Read personal profile information stored on your device (This probably isn't as scary as it sounds. This is probably the permission used to read/write data within it's own FaceBook directory.   Get a list of accounts known by the phone, or other apps you use (Sort of lost on this one.)   But yes, overall most of those permissions are widely and uniformly used against all apps on both (iOS and Android) mobile operating systems.         Now, unless I am completely misinformed, the funny thing is that at least on iOS, a lot of the things that writer is trying to stirrup are not even possible because each app is sort of its own "sandbox". Generally speaking, an app on iOS cannot, for example, go out and copy user data from other apps and then send it to home base.   Once again, I don't even use FaceBook for several completely different reasons. But I don't see this as "Facebook Crosses The Line" but rather "More of the Same". If you were to start digging into permissions for practically any app you would use, I bet an alarmist writer could write an article equally "frightening" or worse for most of them.

  33. Which is exactly what these pranksters should worry about these days. They could happen to not run into the average TGO member that would love to just cuss them out and explain what bad could have happened. They could run into Janquale or Julio Montego Rivera Rodriguez who have a $10,000 paint job and $4,000 rims and "pop a cap in dat azz" over an egg! I mean seriously, look how many people get ran off the road or shot over "who was in the fast lane first" issues. I hope those kids never run into anyone with that aggression and disregard for human life. Also glad it didn't hit you through the window and put your eye out.

  38. I can't speak to the Glock, but my LCP functions flawlessly with Magtech ammo. I can tell you that my youngest son is small, and he tends to be limp wristed when firing it. Sometimes it fails to feed or eject with him. So do 1911s. The LCP works flawlessly with me. I would make sure you have a high and solid grip on it when firing. If it persists, it might be time for a new recoil spring.   You are correct, that is unacceptable for a handgun.

I can attest to the effectiveness of the suppressor on 173ABN's AI.    This week at the range it sounded like he was dry-firing while shooting sub-sonic loads.  All you heard was the click of the firing pin going forward.  If it wasn't for the sound of the impact on the 300 yard steel plate, you would never know that a bullet had gone down range.   Even with standard loads, the sound was just a low "pop."   Impressive!
