Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 39-17-1351( B), is amended by adding the following language to the end of the subsection:   The holder of a valid handgun carry permit issued pursuant to this section shall have the same rights, privileges, and prohibitions regarding the carrying of firearms, as permitted by state law, of any law enforcement officer, as defined in § 39-17-1350(d), who is not engaged in the actual discharge of official duties.   SECTION 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2015, the public welfare requiring it.   --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------   Given Matheny's current positioning in the eyes of the leadership, I'd hazard a guess that this one has less chance than the proverbial snowball...but it is an interesting approach.

No, that’s not how it works. If the material can be identified it is either returned to the owner or seized as evidence. As far as I am concerned, all pro, no con.  A lot depends on what you want to use it for.  I wouldn't want to conceal carry it, but for an all around pistol, they are probably my favorite in the price range.

Safe commute was never about "carrying" on the owner's property, simply an act of "keeping" inside one's "castle" as determined already by the State via 39-11-611, out of sight, unhandled, yet available for use if necessary for the trip home to wherever (or wherever to work), as the SCOT determined in Andrews v. State:   "The right to keep arms, necessarily involves the right to purchase them, to keep them in a state of efficiency for use, and to purchase and provide ammunition suitable for such arms, and to keep them in repair. And clearly for this purpose, a man would have the right to carry them to and from his home, and no one could claim that the Legislature had the right to punish him for it, without violating this clause of the Constitution. (Article 1 § 26)" Now before Dave jumps in to tell me we have LOST the Right to wear/bear arms in Tennessee under the 1871 "intent to go armed" clause, I do not disagree, but, this is not about wearing/bearing arms, it is about "keeping' them in our own castle as defined by Statutory law in Tennessee, and I have seen nothing that says I may not keep them.   The issue has been beat to death, and is moot, as the current TCA allows business owners to deny the Citizens ability to keep a firearm in their private vehicle, using the ability of a worker, ( and spare me JayC about quitting a job if you don't like your current employer's rules, with nearly 20% real unemployment, one must hit their knees if they have a job in today's economic environment) to feed their families as the cudgel to enforce their will.

This is a good bill that gives handgun carry permits the fix that we need.  You then can carry in parks, no guns locations, schools, etc. without worrying about weapons charges.  Of course you can be asked to leave, but that is a whole lot better than the situation now.

You'll most likely get by with the 3 die set, but I gotta say the FCD is great. No chance of a round that won't chamber. For me, it's worth the extra step.

Any new shooters coming for  the "class", you will need a safe working firearm and ammo. A holster, gun rug or bag to put your gun in.  Eye and ear protection.   The weather keeps getting better and looks great for Saturday.

It's the way it should be.  The public and law enforcement shouldn't have any distinctions on what type of weapons they can carry and where.

If I thought the Oligarchy was in sufficient disarray, I would agree...and, they may be and the bills will have a successful foray through the LP.  However, I suspect that one of the reasons Haslamacare was pushed to the extraordinary session was, in fact, in anticipation that there was a possibility of failure with going the resolution route...and having that happen in an extraordinary session could give opportunity to bully through other better-camouflaged legislative efforts towards the goal.  I would speculate that the admin will be working tirelessly behind the scenes (despite his "well, I guess we're done" pressers) to both punish those who led efforts to defeat the resolution (by hamstringing most-to-all of their sponsored legislation, for starters) while simultaneously baiting legislators with various back-scratching "deals" for their souls.  I trust King Billy (and his political and legislative "buds") perhaps even less than the Obasm...and, as WM points out, there is now a wounded, vindictive bear afoot.  A wounded vindictive bear with very lofty aspirations.

There's always been some give and take in America. Yea, you might not have landed in jail in 1956 for having a rifle in your car, but if your political beliefs were not to the liking of McCarthy and his ilk you might. Or if you were black and drank from the wrong water fountain. Or sat in the wrong seat on the bus. In some areas we've improved, and in others we've taken giant leaps backwards. 

Not anger, but the pinnacle reason for my dislike for him is his song, Southern Man, because he stereotypes all men in the South as racists who are cracking whips at the black folks. I was raised in Kansas City, MO and knew many people from further North, and I see more racism in the Northern white man than I have ever seen in the Southern white man.

Yeah, it was a good turn out, good company and great fellowship. The food and service were good to. I really enjoyed meeting everyone and if the right weekend combination comes along would love to go to the range with everyone. I also hope we can work out something on getting together at least a couple of times a year for meals again. And BTW Ted's not a hippie but a hybrid Yippee who smiles a lot and drinks coffee... <grin>

  Ha, my cousin almost traded his not very old 4-wheeler for a Mosin. The firearm owner had convinced him it was an extremely rare Russian sniper rifle.  I will admit I only saw pictures and did not have the firearm in hand, but it looked liked a standard 91/30 to me.    My cousin was convinced to make the trade, but took a second and contacted me first. He walked away from the guy laughing when I told him the approximate value, even if it was a Sniper Mosin Bud's sells them for around $500ish from what I saw at the time.

Wyoming is a Constitutional carry state; Tennessee is not. You can’t create gun free zones in a state where it’s illegal to carry a gun. Until Tennessee recognizes carry as an individual 2nd amendment right; they don’t get to say squat about gun ban signs.

I have to respectfully disagree with you on the parking lot issue.  Businesses have a right to keep their business gun free if they so choose, but the parking lot?  I don't buy it!  By making your workers not able to store their weapons in their vehicle you are effectively disarming them for the majority of their lives.  Many workers spend more time at or in route to/from work than at home, and many run errands before or after work.  If you or your business really cared for the safety and welfare of your workers you would support this bill.  If they were to be talking about private residences then I could see the issue since nobody HAS to visit.  And what about the customers?  Are they also subject to arrest if a gun is locked away in their car?  Is the parking lot posted?

  I have this one on an AR and I like it pretty good. With the tube off, it does a lot better job of keeping the muzzle on target (as you'd expect). I think it works best with the tube on. It seems much quieter and throws a cool looking fireball out the front. I'm definitely buying another.

I saw on one fb page a guy said a friend was shooting nosler ballistic tip 7mm-08 and it was foggy and when the bullets went through the fog it made the bullets explode. Lmao A buddy of mine saw the comment and we still laugh at it or send each other warnings on foggy mornings. He summed it up pretty good. He said "you know if people are that daggum stupid maybe being anti-gun makes sense. I don't want to be grouped in with people like that"

I personally have run into this problem more than once, every time it was with an rcbs die. My first one was a .223 bolt action I took that die to a machine shop and has .020 removed from the die. I thought it was an extremely tight chamber,  works perfectly now. The next one was a .30-06, same problem with  that one. Bolt lacked a little bit of closing once again had .020 removed worked fine spoke with rcbs after this they informed me it must be an isolated problem, you know me being the only one with such a problem. I must not have learned my lesson so I got a set of .308 dies guess what same old problem once again so I returned those to midwayusa and ordered a set of Dillon .308 worked great straight out of the box. the last time was just a few months ago with a set of .270 dies that I took to a buddys work and put in a lay and removed .020 . I will not be buying anymore rcbs dies everything else rcbs seems to be fine just some quality control with the dies. a friend of mine that lives out of state has had this same problem on multiple times as well. hope this helps you and also hope rcbs gets its act together and once again produces the dies I know they can, because they have in the past.

That's how I felt when I was younger. I used to call it a "speed tax". I got older pretty quick. Last time I got a ticket was over a decade ago, and that was less about speeding and more about me not paying attention to the speed limit in an unfamiliar area, and I was droned out from a long drive. I see no benefit to speeding. The amount of time saved by speeding is marginal, and doesn't make sense when doing a cost/benefit analysis. I got pulled over yesterday in Oak grove KY, had a headlight out so he pulled me over to let me know.  Didn't ask for anything, first thing he said is "First let me say you did nothing wrong" and commenced to let me know about the light and that I may consider changing my plate frame because he could not tell what kind of plate it was.  He even suggested that if I tap on the light it may come back on (it did).  He probably ran my plate just in case but had no reason to do anymore than that and it probably showed him that I had a CCW.
