  1. I'd be buying a more powerful mower before even thinking about weedeating an acre.

  5. Mowing that early is a big part of the problem. Need to wait till later in the day if all possible. It doesn't get dark until after 8, yes it's hotter then, but the grass is drier.

  6. Commercial mowers have more power and you can always double cut and get horizontal stripes.

  7. I obviously do not know your exact specifics but if it said something along the lines of "Free Supersaver Shipping" then you have to have an order minimum to get the free shipping. If something is "Shipped and Sold" by Amazon.com then they have to add taxes to it. Oftentimes, if it is shipped and sold by a third party (Amazon merely collects payment and then a third party vendor ships the item), taxes can be avoided as long as that retailer is out of state and does not physically operate in Tennessee. It is also possible that it had free shipping from one vendor but you essentially purchased it from a different vendor. Personally, the other day I ran a report and I have spent $20,000+ since 2007 on Amazon.com. Some of that was returned but most of it wasn't. I have only truly had a few issues with Amazon and ultimately Amazon has 100% taken care of me each time. I probably have $500-$1000 worth of "product" that Amazon has just refunded me for and told me to keep it since circumstances did not warrant shipping the item back (broken, not as expected, too heavy for return, etc). I personally love having Prime. It gives "Free" shipping on lots of items, usually deliverable in 2-3 business days (sometimes even Sunday). I budget $9.04 each month of the year into an "Amazon Prime" category so that at the end of my membership I have exactly enough to pay for it. Between the MP3 and Amazon Instant Video Library, you truly don't even have to buy many items to make the membership worth it. If you have the Amazon Chase Credit Card, you get 5% cashback on all Amazon purchases. $2,000 worth of purchases a year and Prime is "free" if you make them with that credit card. Also, anytime a Prime shipment is "late", then if you contact Amazon they will typically add another month of Prime to your membership. Amazon doesn't always have the best price, but it is always the first place I check.

  8. So are you in the 60,000 club yet?.................... I am not even close myself but I have enough that I don't worry about someone kicking my front door in and them surviving the stupidity..............LOL!!

  11. These are all made from the same blank. Amazing how different you can make the same blade look. Same size....optical illusion I guess with the bottom one being closest to the camera. All are 1095 carbon steel and the blade blank started the same. The OAL is 10' and blade length is 5". The one with the "rock" pattern is a bit heavier in that it's made from 3/16" thick steel. The other two are made from 5/32" thick steel. The IPE handled one with the OD Green and black G10 accents has the handle bobbed in the back a bit to make the look slightly different. They all have thumb jimping and lanyard hoe. From the top the rock pattern has Orange Agate handles with white liners and white and black accents. The middle one has Burmese Blackwood handles red G10 liners and red and white accents. The last one has IPE handles with OD G10 liners and black accents. I did bob the back of the handle a bit to give it a different look. I forgot to add the red/white accented blade had copper/brass and SS mosaic pins...the green and black accented one has SS mosaic pins and the Orange Agate handled one has brass pins.

  12. It is drying right now and the fit was super tight so I decided to put in a baggie now. Still need to do the edges, touch ups, some more oil, then the clear coat.

  14. I understand. Like you I am puzzled that you can't get a bolt easily. If you do eBay, looks like the stocks are selling for $60 to $100 or so.

  20. If you don't mind ordering online, I keep seeing it pop up with free shipping if you order enough. Cabela's has the Federal Auto Match .22 LR Ammunition 325 round box for $19.99 right now. $5 shipping on over $99 right now, but they keep swapping between it and free shipping codes.

  21. If I had been smarter back when it happened, I would have. Oh well, I make do. If I can get someone to grind out the stumps I have soon, then maybe that will ease it too. I give up trying to burn them out. 2.5ft - 3ft stumps take forever to burn out.

  26. I agree on my front yard. Back is huge...front is moss and weeds. I gotta get time to add some lime, but I barely have time to mow. I am scared to use the bags of weed-n-feed I got a coupke years ago because of how much trouble it us to keep up with now. My wife just says "You wanted a big yard." I repeat back to her "I never intended to keep it all mowed". So is life, mow or sleep in the dog house.....

  27. Lord no! I'd bushhog it if need be, but wouldn't consider weedeating my entire yard.

  28. Personally, I don't see that rifle as being particularly 'ugly' for the type. Then, again, I can't say that I think any rifle with plastic furniture is 'pretty'. Don't get me wrong - I have nothing against such rifles but to me in order to be 'pretty' its going to have to have wood and blued (or sometimes stainless) steel. Sounds like a really nice rifle from the standpoint of using it, though.

  30. With all this rain my grass also gets really thick and retains a lot of moisture. I usually wait till late in the afternoon to mow when it is hottest. That at least allows the grass to dry out some. I still have to stop a time or two and clean the wet grass out of the mower deck.

  31. I have never fertilized. The grass is a mix of several kinds. The 2 I recognize are Bermuda and crab, lol. Yeah, if I had time to mow every 3-4 days, that would probably help. But between my schedule and the monsoons we get, no can do.
    1 point
  32. Do you fertilize? I'd stop that pronto. I experience something similar. I just raise the deck up and run over it quick. Then go back over it a second time. Still clumps up even with a mulching deck. The real fix for me is to just mow it every 3 days but who's got time for that?! Goats may be in my future... I wish I had this problem in my front yard though. Can't grow anything but weeds there it seems.

  33. I just strap my exhaust chute up to keep it from clogging and mow. Sometimes have to run back over it the opposite way in a few places to get it good. I have over an acre and I hate weedeating. So I do whatever to avoid it. The clumps of grass get broke up the next time I mow.

  34. In the case of the banks, the risk is that DOJ will use their own disclosure filings as evidence against them. They were skeptical enough under the Obama administration, but with Jeff Sessions and his "good people don't smoke marijuana" view of things, it's clear that the risk of providing banking services to the weed industry is not worth it. https://www.dorsey.com/newsresources/publications/client-alerts/2017/02/revisiting-the-risk-of-banking Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk. 36. Looks like a Win bolt, at least that is what mine looked like. I seem to recall there was something etched on mine, a SN maybe?

  37. Sure...I believe you both. lol Actually I don't think it would take much to reach that number(60, 000). If you have several calibers of rifle and pistol that you've been shooting for years; and buying a box here and a case there...I think it would be an easily attainable number.

  40. Hog hunting is one of my PASSIONS!!!!!!! I go and have every year for about 10 years! Loshbough Hunting Lodge in Crossville Tn is my go to. Great people, tough property, mountain goat tough in some areas. They have some real monsters on this property. They are really great people to work with. Talk to Cheri or Suzy, tell them Jim Grice told you to call. Then we want pics of the hunt AND the BBQ!

  41. I think the possible scenarios are so broad and infinite you probably won't find a specific class. The option would be to take some VIP personal protection classes. Best info for your situation, in general, is anticipate and leave. Avoidance is your key to safety especially with family in tow. Once bullets fly there are no guarantees no matter how well trained anyone is.
