  3. Hello folks, I bought this Beretta model 81BB recently exclusively to convert to 32NAA. My goal is to match its grouping abilities to a 32NAA casing loaded with Lehigh 55g all copper defense bullets. For now, this is what the used M81 can do at 30 feet shooting off a wooded 4X4 block as a frame rest. Prior to the rechambering, the average speed of some pretty old PMC 71g FMJ loads were 962 fps out of the 10 round string. The PPU averaged 914 fps. To do a conversion on a Beretta Model 81, it simply requires renting the reamer from 4D rentals for a total cost of $47 bucks, adding a model 84 380 magazine and some ammo. No other mods are needed since Beretta uses the same bolt face in their 81/84 model slides. The thick gripped Beretta is a most comfortable gun to shoot. In 32ACP its a real kitten. Stepped up to the new chambering and you know immediately, this aint your grandfathers ACP! The 80g Defensive HP's stepped out at an average of 1067fps in the pictured 10 shot string. I'm looking forward to see what kind of velocities I can generate with the 55g Lehigh copper pills. They should have some serious splash out of the Beretta's 4 3/4" barrel. Then I couldn't help giving the Guardian a go at the 30 foot target with the PMC's. There is some evidence of slight key holeing out of the Guardians shallow rifling but hitting the paper regularly at that range with those sights is still acceptable in my view. ;D

  4. A rifle and spotlight will pay big dividend's to the county and state if a game warden catches you. I know a couple guys that got caught by a Game Wardens. They lost 2 really nice rifles. A really nice truck and both went to jail to post bond. They didn't know they were also be followed by the game warden with his lights off and he didn't turn on his rollers and spot lights till they had to spot light on a deer and were just about to shoot and before they could he scared the pee out of both of them The both ended up with 11/29 in jail lost truck and firearms and $1000.00 fines. Oh yea also lost hunting privilege's for 5 years in TN and surrounding states. Like Forrest Gump said, Stupid is as Stupid does!!!

  5. I would guess getting stopped by a game warden would have the possibility of being way more expensive than being stopped by a cop. Especially if you have a rifle in the vehicle.

  6. I was not going to say anything yet but since you brought this up I must, Personally I don’t use flashlights attached to my pistols, so I have not seen what you are talking about But I TOTALLY agree with you, when I received my Odin which is mounted on my AK47 I did not like the mounting system one bit attached to picatany rail, the light moved very easily, side to side up and down play since I have an M Lock rail I bought a very expensive ($45) Scout Light adapter I removed the Olight attachment and screwed it directly to the light, and mine is secure and I trust it completely. I had a few email conversations with my Rep and some other people From Olight I let them know this was a problem that I saw first hand to make a very long story short I am no longer one of their favorite people. as a dealer I did not like the fact that they do Flash sales without telling me, I never want to charge you guys more money for something that you may get on sale while waiting for your order, I am a small one man outfit they do not care about my opinion which is something I am not use to, I now own 6 Olights and like them very much but I will no longer be a dealer for them, in my opinion they care more about people collecting their products then they do about people needing to trust their life’s with their products, some advice to you all that I have learned, do not buy these lights on Amazon they sell a ton of fake Olights, yes Chinese fakes of quality Chinese products they do not let dealers sell on Amazon at least in my dealer agreement it was forbidden I have been told this multiple times since affiliated with them, The Odin light uses the exact same pattern for the mounting holes in the light as the Surefire Scout, if you buy a good Scout Light adapter for whatever rail you need, you will have a solid light in my case for less than $200 I have a better system than my $850 Surefire system was, so far anyway it has been rock solid and I love it The Javelot Pro is my favorite light it has the best throw of any light I have ever used, I still love my M2R Warrior Pro I beat the #### out of it and it still works like a charm, I would trust my life with it as I use it constantly TO UPDATE there was a serious misunderstanding between myself and a Lady in China, all is well now and they truly do care what I think and bent over backwards today apologizing

  7. They have a little switch in their trucks that kills all lights including the dash lights and they can drive like that. My little switch just kills the tail lights.

  9. Just get their name right when you speak with them. It's Cloud Defensive ... not Defense. I know this sounds like a small thing but small details set people apart from the crowd for the right and wrong reasons. They're small enough to be able to care about things like that and might give you a (friendly) hard time about it.

  10. On a serious note, if you want practice driving under nods, I’ve heard of guys with very mild off road vehicles (think Jeep on 33s or anything else with 2 inch lift) going on trail rides on VERY easy trails at night and driving the trails under nods instead of using all their lights. I wouldn’t try driving under nods on a public road, anytime the lighting would be suitable, would be when it’s a higher possibility for a drunk driver to be out. I’d really hate to have to explain why you were driving total blackout and in that particular case, you just might end up being at fault instead of the drunk driver if he hit you. There are trails in TN that you can do in a stock 4x4 vehicle. I’ve even seen them done in a Subaru and Honda CRV

  17. It takes a lot of testing, experience, research, etc. for me to commit to a new weapon light. Based on my research, the Olights seemed worth testing. So far, I've been impressed with the Olights I purchased but they are not intended to be defensive tools (at least by me) - just utility flashlights. The i5st is destined for my laptop bag for travel. I treat a defensive light much light a new defense gun. It doesn't make it into the defense role until its proven enough for me to bet my life on it.

  18. Man I have got 13 emails and counting apologies from China for the lack of return emails, I had to ask them to stop apologizing LOL they are so happy that I sell on a Gun forum they want me to give them any feedback you all have I’ll send it their way they really are trying to get everything right unlike some other companies I know of

  21. I’m glad to see that they created a locking tail cap. I have a Warrior X and the magnetic only attachment of the tape switch made it wholly unsuited to weapon mounting.

  27. I have carried mine for several years now on my keychain and it is a great little flashlight in high mode it is very impressive for the light it puts out. It has never ran down on me or failed to work. It does come on in my pocket once in awhile but I notice my pocket glowing before very long so it isn't a problem. I charge my just because every 3 or 4 months when I think about it.

  28. OLight makes good consumer-grade stuff but I am going to stick to Surefire, Cloud Defensive, Modlite and Streamlight for things that I might need to count on in a fight. I'm not trying to rain on the sale of these items as I think they are perfectly fine for what most folks are going to use them for, but I really cannot in good conscience recommend them for someone who's life might depend on them. Bear in mind that "reviewers" like S00tch are paid handsomely by vendors to post favorable opinions about their products. That guy hasn't met many products that he didn't fawn over. One problem in particular that both Mark and I have been able to exploit with ease on Shooters Nation is the latch design on the Valkrie. It's easy to snag that thing on the draw and inadvertently rip your light off of the gun. Even if they were to use a toggle design similar to what ADM and Surefire use (see below) with an integral lock button, it would still be prone to snagging on things as you draw. There's a reaosn why no one else uses these types of latches on pistol mounted weapon lights and my guess is that everyone else patended their designs and left OLight with very little option BUT to use them. Again... I am not opposed to OLight for casual purposes. I am opposed to them for serious use. ** Not the OLight lever. OLight's lever doesn't have the integral lock, which would at least be a step in the right direction.

  29. Yes. Seriously. I love the Mall of America. They even have truck parking. It’s located in a suburb and one that I would expect to be less understanding of shenanigans considering the high number of tourist dollars. That said, if it’s wild like the city, I’d be best to avoid it. Nah mean? So yeah, it was a serious question. Why wouldn’t it be?

  31. Well, after building the 1892 Winchester in 357, I guess I got horned into 357 and just had to finally spring for a nice wheel gun. My taste is in S&W but I want a nice handling range gun and the K frame is just right as not being too heavy. Besides I carried a M10 S&W as a duty gun for 18 years and became fond of my qualifying scores with that action. Problem is, I think S&W has been giving the shooting public the screws on their K frame magnums for a very long time. Frame cutting, and burned throats aside, That I can understand but I draw the line at poor barrel shank design. Iv seen a few K's with bore bulges just forward the barrel shank threads inside the frame mouth. Its ugly and should not happen. Reason being, they stop the barrel treads into a "root diameter" opening cut of the shank rather than stopping the threads into thread OD. Taurus correctly decided long ago that they would correct this deficiency and that is one main reason why I bought a 669 rather than a 66 S&W aside from the $$$ difference. The barrel cylinder gap on the Taurus is perfect at .004. It needs a trigger job and a forcing cone hone that I figured would be needed but all in all, this particular Taurus 357 is going to be a very sweet shooter. Its a bit beefier in the frame than a S&W 66 and the finish is exceptional for the 5 bones even OTD on a GB purchase. The Taurus shank
