  1. Disagree with your assertion that the bump stock turns an AR into a machine gun, by that interpretation so does a stick, shoestring, or belt loop. Call it a loophole if you wish, but unless congress changes the definition of a machine gun, none of these devices make it one.

  2. Well, I hate to break in to the Covid forum but I thought I would get some garden stuff going. Last weekend we got a start building our new greenhouse. It is a highwall (7.5') 24x48 structure. We did pretty good for a bunch of not very good layout folks. I hope to have it finished by the end of October. Still trying to decide if we are going to do in ground beds, or raised beds or maybe a combination. We like raised beds the most but they are expensive to build; especially now with the cost of lumber... Next year we will be adding a second layer of plastic and a fan to create an air gap between the 2 layers for insulation

  3. Looks like no hammer but a striker fired rifle. I once had a problem with a Colt Woodsman misfiring. Turns out the striker had broken. When things lined up perfect, it fired. When things didn't line up, no joy but a definite 'click' when I pulled the trigger. Only when disassembled was I able to see the striker was in two pieces. Not sure if you broke the rifle down this far, but checking the striker might be worth the time.

  4. Yeah. It’s still important to understand what the intended use is and at what distance. Bullseye shooting? Defensive use? Precision marksmanship in an LE or MIL setting? Hunting? There won’t be enough difference to care with some of those applications. For others I’d want to know which round performs best with my particular rifle and then stick with it.

  5. yeah I'm back, it has been way to long to be living in a house and having my guns again some may remember that back in 2014 my wife and I decided to go into travel nursing, sold the house and traveled across America to many hospitals in search of all mighty dollar that was great for a while but i am loving being back in the hills of East Tennessee. Because of some of the places we worked (Illinois, New York) we were not even allowed to have guns in our camper. Again LOVE Tennessee

  6. A New York attorney, representing a very wealthy art collector, called and asked to speak to his client. "Paul, I have some good news and I have some bad news." The art collector replied, "You know, I've had an awful day, Jack, so let's hear the good news first." The lawyer said, "Well, I met with your wife today, and she informed me that she has invested only $5,000 in two very nice pictures that she thinks will bring somewhere between $15 and $20 million; and, I think she could be right." Paul replied enthusiastically, "Holy cow !! Well done !! My wife is a brilliant business woman, isn't she? You've just made my day. Now, I know I can handle the bad news. What is it?" The lawyer replied, "The pictures are of you and your secretary.”

  8. I heard both ways. For one, who's going to know it is a registered sbr if it's 16". If they are looking you that close you probably have more to worry about than lack of paperwork that the atf doesn't even keep up with. If you're worried about it, just file the temporary move paperwork. The last thing would be that I've never heard of anyone getting clipped for not filling out the temporary move paperwork. I'm heading to Texas this weekend with a bunch of NFA, but we will not be traveling through any communist states.

  9. I've got a PA 1-6 ACSS that I got on a Black Friday sale a couple years ago. For the money it has been a champ, I typically shoot my shorter guns more so don't get to pull it out much, but have always been impressed with the clarity. I haven't read many bad reviews of the PA ones. Might want to take a look at the swampfox offerings as well.

  10. For sub $1000, EuroOptic is still running a sale on their Bushnell Elite Tactical smrs ii 1-6.5 in black for $600. If they still have the PRO model in FDE in stock, those supposedly have ED glass. My buddy has a higher magnification version and really likes it. I used it a few times and the Elites sime well built. Glass was clear and the turrets tracked true. https://www.eurooptic.com/Bushnell-SMRS-1-65x24-ILL-CQ-BDC-Riflescope-ET71624.aspx

  13. Welcome back! I still have some of the canes you made. Gave most as gifts to family. Sadly, 3 of the them have passed on. Did you curse them? LOL Just a joke. They were much liked and appreciated when given.

  14. Well my take on it is that I don't notice that much difference. But...there are so many variables involved that I truly believe that some guns do have a favorite ammo. The only way to be definitve is to spend the time reloading and come up with a load for each gun you shoot. But who has the time for that?

  19. They're right in that they're not a good use of tax money. Flying over near empty stadiums when the federal government borrowed $3,000,000,000,000 in one fiscal year is a waste of resources and training hours. I can't imagine flyovers is much of a benefit beyond the flight hours, and right now we need to streamline as much of the operations and training budget as we can while still having combat readiness. So, sorry/not sorry, we shouldn't be seeing flyovers for a random 4pm game early in the season.

  22. Just wanted to proudly announce that AJ Holst is one of the newest Rangemaster Certified Instructors. AJ took the class in Nashville this past weekend and passed with flying colors. This is no small feat and a Rangemaster Instructor certificate actually means something due to the level of difficulty. It is not just a participation trophy. So a hearty congratulations to AJ !
