  5. My nephew and I had just loaded the boat at the Caney Creek ramp on Watts Bar and were standing in the lot talking when we heard the Caney Creek Campground across the lake go crazy with cheers and air horns. I looked at my nephew and said, Vols just beat Bama.

  9. Here’s a thought. Don’t buy someone else’s unserialized, homemade gun. If you want to make one of your own plan on keeping it. Problem solved.

  10. No longer for sale. This MK13 kit was one from Thoroughbred Armament's very first batch of surplus kits that came with only the chassis, case, as well as the MARS rail. Mags, combo wrench, and cleaning kit pieces (which isn't a complete collection) were purchased separately. The rifle was built by Chris Higgins at Redbull Armory (former Navy SEAL and heavily involved in the MK13 program) and was finished in January of 2021. Rifle has 20 rounds of Sig 190gr through it. Like a moron, I never torqued the rings (excited to mock it up) and later remembered that while shooting that day so I never got a solid range report. I'd expect typical MK13 accuracy given the builder and barrel. - Remington G6969xxx action, perfect if you want to clone the Sex Panther rifle pictured last, which was my intention when I found the donor rifle. - M16 extractor - Walker trigger - Lilja Mod 5 barrel MK11 suppressor and Nightforce scope/rings are not included. Price is $6,500 OBO. Comes with the surplus deployment case as well.

  13. Theres an EE at Royal Range that may be able to provide some personal experience on this. I don't know if he'd be part of the training staff, but if you reach out to Royal they may be able to get you in touch with him to do some type of lesson/assessment that helps you learn from his own adaptations.

  19. I'd suggest that the best thing you could do is get out to the range and access your abilities and any limitations. You need to look at items besides just recoil such as mag swaps and racking the slide.

  20. Well first off, welcome back. My brother was involved in an accident that broke his skull into 5 pieces. Even the doctors didn’t t expect him to make it. Today he has hardly any memory of the incident but does recall every day of rehab. It’s a long road and he was left with many scars and only small impairments in his abilities. He is now retired and spends tons of time at his local gun range. This has done him a world of good. I would strongly suggest you call your local range and get started. We don’t know what we can do till we try. I hope your continued recovery goes well. I know the smell of gunpowder has a healing effect.

  21. Wouldn't you also have to mark it with your information (Name, City, State) since if you completed it, you're the manufacturer? Just putting a number on it would imply that Polymer80 (or whomever's info is on the 80% receiver/frame) was the manufacturer when the thing they sold isn't a firearm.

  26. Honestly, we would just get 3 or 4 barrels and have them chambered for the gun we were running in a match. I keep backup ar 10 barrels now.

  27. Just an observation: People who get into long range competition shooting are usually willing re-barrel their guns as needed. If you are just hunting with one, would think burn out is not your most pressing issue.

  32. I agree with your thought. Although a lie to law enforcement about a “gun” is probably frowned upon. The sum I have come to, although may seem ignorant, will be to have the gun serialized and do a true transfer at a FFL. I will find all of the “dumbass” government infringements so I know fact wise I won’t become a criminal whose constitutional right is taken by a 1960s law. To my knowledge that is when the government decided to not allow felons to have guns. In the constitution it did not say”if you have a felony, you can bear arms” but that is my real deal extreme view on the 2nd amendment. I think EVERYONE should be allowed to have a gun. That way no Karen gets too full of him or herself and we all learn to respect each other again.
