  3. Just an observation of things the past few days. Let me start by saying I've lived here over 30 years through extreme cold, miserable heat, drought conditions and tornados. Never have I ever experienced rolling blackouts, water shortages as I have these past couple of days. Never. Yes it's been stupid cold but I've been here before. Seems everything has been geared up to welcome our new influx of folks except our grid system, water supply and other neat things to have, We are broke as a nation and state so I'm not optimist anything will be fixed or built to alleviate this anytime soon. Seems like we could have been a bit wiser on what we spent our money on... Go woke go broke. Just sayin'.

  4. My apologies for the long post. I think things are going just as they were designed. I don’t blame immigrants for still flocking to this country and I don’t blame the president for oil companies not using the already approved and available leases for oil. I see a country that only functions if it has an angry, divided and mostly poor working class. Neglected infrastructure, stagnant wages and an undereducated populace contribute to the success of this model. Don’t take this the wrong way, but this country has never been great. Compared to most countries, America is exceptional, but never great. I say America has never been great based upon the fact that every generation of Americans has had to deal with its own set of difficulties and no generation has existed without circumstances that one could look at and not say “this is the end of us.” Most people in this country proclaim themselves to be Christians, but the negativity combined with the doom and gloom from most people doesn’t bare witness to that claim. I’m a believer, and based upon my experiences, the good, the bad, everything happens for a reason and when it’s supposed to. This is our season. We can accept what is and move forward positively reflecting the behavior of the savior or we can wallow in negativity and what is will still occur. Based upon inflation, that’s my $2.69.

  9. Well, it did not work out. The auction bids went up well over what the lathe and mill are worth in the last two minutes. I was high bid until the end, but I was not going to overpay just for the sake of winning. I'll hit you guys up the next time I'm up in Music City just to see who I can treat to lunch, anyway! Thank you for being willing. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

  10. Government, regardless of what level from City to federal, is focused on headlines and the "popular" program of the day. Mostly liberal give away stuff. All in an effort to look good. Infrastructure has far too long been ignored and only gotten the meager left overs of an already wasted budget. Now its coming around to bite us on the ass. It won't be racism, climate change or any other perceived problem that does us in. Our nation will collapse under the weight of its own disregard for fundamental infrastructure. I fear it may already be too late to stop it.

  11. As a country we are in a sad state of things. With illegals, .gov running us broke and .gov spying around every corner, we are in trouble. As far as the state of TN, well things are not as bad but need to be run better than this. I just do not understand how the power grid could be that far behind as it is, wait, FJB killed oil and coal! Now .gov pushing EVs like it is and we can not keep up the power as is.

  20. I think just about everyone knows this country is headed to a bad place. Most people are just trying to ignore it. They think it will all go away if we just don't look at it.

  23. I have both the .44mag and .357, but alas not in SS. Both are great guns and from my point of view soft shooting. @gregintenn I guess I have been shooting my levers wrong. I did not know I needed pants on.

  24. 357 ain’t that bad. Here’s the carbine everyone here has been waiting on. You won’t ever have more fun with your pants on!

  25. I cannot say for sure but it is fairly powerful ammo as what it lacks in weight it makes up for in speed. The projectile is copper mixed with polymer as I understand so that will turn to powder and not ricochet when it hits a steel target, but it will still behave like a normal bullet when it hits targets that aren't steel.

  27. That's an awesome revolver @Spots. Congrats! I've been a reader of Col.Rex Applegate since 1967-68. iirc he knew Fitz and had a Special made. There's a lot of thought and reasoning put into these and they were truly remarkable for their time. A lot of revolver knowledge is sliding into history, sadly. When I lived outside Kansas City back in the 1980's I used to shoot bowling pin matches and befriended a local PD Detective. Great guy and even better shooter. He carried a similar cut down 45 acp revolver in a shoulder rig. Man he was fast on his reloads using full moon clips. Impressed the heck out of this newbie shooter back then. Still does thinking back on it. Thanks for posting the pics! Jamie

  32. My 2006 heat pump hasn't faltered. Here it's been down to 3 and my house has remained at 72 degrees. At night I turn it down to 69 for sleeping. In the morning back to 72 and only twice did my auxiliary heat turn on for about 11-15 minutes each time. Once it reaches 72 the extra heat doesn't come on. So much for wind power and solar. We need more nuclear plants unless you like rolling blackouts, cold water baths, and cooking over dried cow dung. As all this press for electric cars - wait until the grid melts down and the electric cars are pulled by oxen and donkeys.

  36. As I have said in the past, the TGO is the real social media I interact with. I scroll Instagram, but I don’t interact there. While I may not agree completely politically with everyone here, we all like guns and we all like shooting and we all feel that this is our constitutional right. Also, I have had direct interactions with many of the members here and I have yet to meet someone I didn’t like. Merry Christmas to you all!!

  37. Man I am shopping for this exact truck... just about 12 years newer. Moving up from my 2003 F250 7.3 Super Duty long bed crew cab. I need a dually for the things I ask it to do... unfortunately, she runs so well at 200K miles, I have attachment issues.

  39. I like 40 and have a Glock 23 and Kahr PM 40. I had a Sig 229 and gave it to my grandson several years ago. IMO, it is a good round for 4" brl and up. Not a good round for smallish pistols. My all steel Kahr PM 40 is a handful. The older my hands get the harder it is to shoot. One reason why I don't carry it any longer. I am into 357/Cor Bon DPX and 9 MM 147 Gr Winchester Defender + P for concealed carry.
