This was my deer gun for several years. It has had around 200 rounds through it and is in pristine shape. I replaced the sights with fiber sights. It has the JM stamp on the barrel and I suspect it was made about 20 years ago. I can meet in the Knoxville area and will want to see a TN DL or CC permit. The gun was made in 2019 according to the stamp on the slide. It has less than a thousand rounds through it. I replaced the stock grips with g10 grips. I replaced the stock sights with Dawson Precision fiber sights. Otherwise the gun is stock. It comes with 4 magazines. The two with the gun were stamped ,40 cal and I bought two additional mecgar mags. I also got a kydex iwb holster for it. I would consider trades for pistols in .40 S&W. I am firm on the price and will want to see a TN DL or CC permit before purchase. I can meet in the Knoxville area. PM me if you are interested or have questions.

Less of a gunsmithing question and more of a story... So I'm a Mixed-Handedness person, some things feel better right handed, some feel better left handed... and although I shoot long guns right handed, I've always felt more comfortable shooting handguns lefty... which all my fellow lefties understand the struggles of what comes with that... swapping mag releases and what not... Anyway, even though most mag release swaps are simple, and anyone with access to YouTube can do most of them on their own, I always take mine to a gunsmith. I'd much rather pay the 10-20$ then risk something going wrong. Just like what happened today. As the smith was working on my swap, another employee came up behind him to ask him a question, which I'm assuming startled him a little bit because he flinched, causing one of the springs from the release assembly to launch clear across the room. About 2 hours, a broom, and some magnets later, the sucker is still nowhere to be found... As easy as the "oh I'd be ***** " comes to mind, I try to remind myself as much as possible that we are all human, and the exact reason I brought it in, is because accidents DO happen, even to the experienced gunsmiths. As I watched him trying to explain what happened, sweat dripping down his face, I imagined being in his position.. and to be honest I really felt bad for the poor guy lol . To make a long story not any shorter, on top of the countless apologies, they ordered the replacement parts and are doing what is necessary to fix the mishap. Maybe I could have done it myself... or maybe I'd be only one burp-sniffle-fart away the same thing happening to me, but I'd be footing the bill for the replacement parts instead of them.... *shrug* Only God knows... Happy Independence Everyone.

You don’t loose springs. They vaporize. Owning a gun shop with an in-house gunsmith for 6 years. Upon closing the shop, we knew we would find a ton of springs. Nope, maybe one or two. There should have been a hundreds. If your gunsmith doesn’t drink brown water, smoke like crazy and cuss everything he lost a spring, be Leary of their talent. He passed in January and damn we miss him.

For a collector the old models are worth something, but I prefer the new model with a transfer bar. Safer to carry fully loaded.

I got an email today from TFA warning of another organization operating under the same name as this forum. Here is an excerpt from that email. The state political action committee, Tennessee Firearms Association Legislative Action Committee, is a registered state PAC since 1996 and has decades of public filings with the state to account for its activities. In addition, there is an entity that has been in Tennessee for many years known as "Tennessee Gun Owners" or to some simply "TGO". It entity is known by many for decades as one of the online forums to talk about firearms and has an good reputation among gun owners. Following the Covenant Shooting, Gov. Lee called for the Legislature to pass a Red Flag law. That has obviously increased public attention on 2nd Amendment issues in Tennessee and public willingness to be involved. I spoke with John this morning about this issue this morning. These two brothers pop up in states and capture a name to fund raise off of, they did not realize TGO was already owned. My power was out for 2 days. Came back yesterday morning. My generator powered the fridge and freezer. Got me some light, the microwave and a small over-the-air TV. I made out just fine. Internet and cable just came back on a little while ago. Surprising how much I missed that. I had to get out and run some errands yesterday. Power is still spotty in Bartlett. Some blocks have power and the next one is stone dead. The Wolfchase area is especially bad. The mall and Wal-Mart were out. I think most of it is back by now or will be soon. Its been an interesting few days.

That "food for thought" is legally and in my opinion even ethically the "right answer". To many, shooting some thieves sounds like an amazing vigilante type of justice until you realize that we no longer live in the "wild, wild west" and that by doing so you risk losing everything you've ever worked for in your life. Sure, the thief my be a meth head but his father may be Denny Crane. The thief may have stolen your weed-eater but his father will take your house, vehicles, and entire life savings after you murdered his son after conveniently posting online that you'd "shoot all thieves" that come on your property. It's hard to feed your family if you are in prison for murder. Thieves suck, but I don't own a single thing that is worth more than someone's life. I'm basing this on a standard of faith. All of us deserve death (the wages of sin). Say that multiple times out loud if you have to. Yes, even the thief can be redeemed by the Blood of Jesus Christ. The only time the guns come out are if my family (or other innocents) is/are in danger.

Nice looking watches. Working on equipment has and will destroy rings, and watches. Years ago I welded a wrench to a ring changing a battery on a boat, burned my finger as well. After that never did wear anything below my elbows but long sleeves and not around running motors or engines.
