  2. Located in Murfreesboro, I head into Nashville every so often during the week if that’s convenient. Bought this from another member in August ‘23 and put less than 300 rounds through it. Original owner said less than 400 rounds fired. Listed it for sale recently, but had a change of heart and withdrew it because it’s such a nice pistol. Carried for about 2 weeks in a Milt Sparks holster and went back to my Wilson Combat SFX9 which just fits my hand better. Back up for sale. Excellent condition- very little wear from normal use. I see some very light scratches near the beaver tail pin on the frame on the passenger side. Also a couple of similar marks on the slide. Currently installed: VZ thin carbon fiber grips with VZ universal/thin bushings and screws (purchased in Dec) Orange tritium front sight (purchased new by me) Included: Gold bead front sight 4 Ed Brown 9 round flush magazine 1 Metalform 9 round flush magazine Garrett Holsters IWB- leather lined, black kydex (used twice) Ed Brown Pistol case Factory grips, screws, bushings Esmeralda Padauk open pore grips Hogue G10 double diamond grips- never used $2000 Trade considered (+/- cash) for: Wilson Combat SFX9 or SFT9 4” or 5”, NO ambi, open to optics ready but prefer non-optic- not interested in much else

  3. Finally got my JM branded houge grips in for my Model 22-4 square butt. I prefer the look of the classic panels that were on it, but this gun is all about practical application instead of looks, and the panels were beating me up pretty good shooting 50 plus rounds a session. They are comfortable, ill give a better range report after I have time to run some rounds though it

  7. Have 2 45acp revolvers. Love'em...not the "thump" though. Ruger New Model Vaquero with 4" barrel seems to shoot softer than the Smith Mountain Gun. But sure is harder to hold for me the the "birdshead" grip. But sure does look Purty!

  8. Oh my stars and garters! You are causing me much lust! This is, as you know, an absolutely gorgeous pistol! The epitome of the carry 9! Always wanted something in and Ed Brown or Wilson...but always out of my price range. GLWS!

  9. I tried Lee Alox and it worked good...far less lead deposits. I haven't heard of anyone making their own bullet lube. I switched to powder coated bullets before I used up the Lee Alox that I had, so I'm curious to see what you find as a substitute in case the zombies come and I have to resort to scavenging wheel weights.

  10. I assume you are talking about the actual bullet lube, like Lee Alox or 45-45-10. Or do you have something like an RCBS Bullet sizer / lubricator? I have only used Lee Alox and Powder Coating. Cast Boolits forums has a good bit of info on various lube methods. Dolo and Caster have a few threads about powder coating on here. They help me a bunch back when we used to cast and PC. I'm probably a bit dense LOL Could you elaborate on what your plans are?

  13. Very good condition S&W Model 10-7 tapered barrel revolver. Unfortunately no box or docs. Just the revolver as shown. Manufactured in 1977. I picked this up a while back, shot it, cleaned it and put it up. Now looking to sell to replenish my gun fund! Slight wear at the muzzle from holstering otherwise it's perfect! Shoots great! $575 cash or $600 for those who like to negotiate! Spring Hill area or close by please. No Shipping.

  14. As the title says, I just received another slide back from DP Custom Works. I took an M&P 2.0 Compact, non optics slide and sent it off to Doug so that he could work his magic on it. I don't have many handguns left that aren't running a dot optic, and this takes care of one more of them. This time I went with his M&P EDC slide milling package and added top cocking serrations and an optic cut for the Holosun 407K / EPS footprint and had him re-finish the whole thing in fresh new Melonite. This is the fourth slide that I have had Doug work on and the quality of the work is impeccable, as always. The gun is wearing a Holosun EPS MRS, which is the fuller sized EPS variant with dual fuel (battery and solar) and automatic adjustment for ambient light. Iron sights are a set of Ameriglo that I already had on the gun; Doug reinstalled them after re-finishing the slide.

  17. Pretty...might even almost say beautiful. But form and functionality must come before beauty when shooting heavy recoil loads in almost any size pistol frame. I personally, and just my opinion, prefer stock Smith Grips in most cases. Here...I do go along with your choice.

  20. I'm a fan of Lee Alox. I would think that cooking up one's own recipe would be messy and probably more expensive. Check out the price of bee's wax.

  21. Read up on the GBO forum posted above. The guys there know more about cannons and building them than anyone. You have to make sure to make it look like a replica to keep the ATF happy. Bowling balls actually make great projectiles if you have the range for them, the air going over the finger holes makes for a cool whistle noise.

  22. I watched Ghostbusters: Afterlife again a few days ago and found a small hole in the writing. Ray is talking about how Egon leaving NYC and taking the gear left them high and dry. He's ranting and says something like "we even had to sell the firehouse. <pause> It's a Starbucks now." which is a pretty funny line. But they're back in the firehouse in the new GB: Frozen Empire and it's exactly how they left it, not a Starbucks.

  25. I'll say this about sales tax. I think TN has the right idea with their higher sales tax. Back in CT, sales tax was low but all the other taxes were high. At least here, even people visiting, or just driving thru are helping to pay the state. Its not just on the shoulders of the homeowners like many other states. And, I know y'all like to bitch about rich, liberal people moving here, raising the real estate prices etc. But try not to lump all of us together. I was a firefighter in CT, definitely not a job to have if you want to get rich. CT is like most other states, where the cities are liberal but the outlying rural areas are not. Me and all my friends are conservative, gun loving, hunters, hard working folks just like you. I moved here to get away from those winters. Not to try to change the political climate here. And most of the folks I have met here are the same. I know more liberals that are locals than I do folks that recently moved here.

  26. Consider this a PSA to inspect your carry gear. In the last 24 hours I’ve noticed my rear sight drifting AND broke my holster (NSR) during an IDPA match. Sucks, but better to know it now So now the question is: do I get a new holster now, or since it’s down anyways, just send off that slide to get milled to make the transition to a red dot?

  30. I'm a S&W specialist in Chattanooga; I don't know of anyone east of me. Knox/Bristol folks, any leads? I usually switch out to all Wolff springs in the action, polish and tune appropriately. Occasional additional work includes upgraded hammers, bobbed hammers, match or combat triggers, extended firing pins, replacement of MIM parts with forged, etc.

  35. I agree with this, let's hope it is. But no one can deny that the border is bad, and needs to be fixed! Even Biden (although he has been saying the border isn't a problem) released this on 1/25/24 "For too long, we all know the border's been broken. It's long past time to fix it." (well why didn't you?) He goes on to say that he'll close the border **IF** he gets the funding for his Border Security Package. So what is in that border security package (Note, it officially hasn't been made public yet, but based on the past information leaked it is this) $60+ Billion to Ukraine $8B for Refugees (food, clothing, housing, etc). -- initial only, after that up to the state $1B for programs in other countries to help them there 5000/day illegals allowed in (1.8M a year) but closes the border only when it hits 8500/day (3M a year) 375 new immigration Judges 1600 Asylum officers 100 inspection machines (to detect fentanyl) This does nothing to fix the problem. My proposal NO money for Ukraine, Israel or anything outside of the US Build the Damn wall, similar to the one between Gaza and Egypt, not what we have now. 375 New Immigration Judges (or more) 1600 Asylum officers (who turn away anyone who does not qualify for asylum [the vast majority]) No entry into the US until court dates (the stay in Mexico policy Trump had that Joe removed) Streamline the legal immigration policy. Yes, background checks on everyone, but more agents to push the work and limits on how long it can take. Limit total LEGAL immigration to 1M per year. ICE is re-enforced with more agents to gather and deport illegals Businesses caught hiring illegals are penalized, financially based on the company net worth. (funds collected go to the ICE agency) Any one caught trying to enter the US illegally, is deported, and BANNED from ever being allowed LEGAL entry. To me, under Bidens proposal, the ones highlighted are NON-STARTERS. That is NOT a bi-partisan proposal, it does not address the issues and just demands more money for his pet projects.
