  1. Woke up Monday morning with my truck sitting on my chest. Woke my wife and told her I think I am having an attack. She called 911 took the ambulance 20 minutes to get to my house. Ten minutes later I was on the road to Ascencion St Thomas in Murfreesboro. There about 20 minutes and was taken to Cath lab. Had a blood clot in one of my bypass arteries. Now heart muscle damage and am in heart failure with only 30% heart output (should be 50 to 75 % at my age) but finally home. Not feeling real bad but am somewhat weak. Will need serious rehab and rest. Heart muscle damage and in danger of several bad outcomes in the short time future. I got to get the weight off and watch diet plus take 3 different heart related new meds now and pray for the best. Consensus is, most probably caused by my bout with Coved about 2 months ago. Seems a lot of people who get the new strain of Coved are having blood clots shortly afterwards. Looking to an uphill climb at 76 now. My wife and girls are very glad I am home. Life is short guys. Hope you all are prepared for your demise, I am. I am a child of Jesus the Christ and live for HIM. I am sure my attack took place 5 minutes down the road to the Hospital and could tell the Paramedic was excited with trying to show it. Kept running heart strips all the way to the Hospital. Both my arms were tingling and almost useless, and I began sweeting profusely. I was not scared and was at total, peace, after my prayer, with whatever happened. Only way to be that way is to be a child of Jesus, guys. I did feel terrible concerning and sorrow for my wife because if worse came to worse she would be left alone. Think about eternity guys, please.

  2. I am white and I do not live in a bad neighborhood, so I am speaking way out of turn on this one... but I have a suspicion that there are a LOT of people in those bad neighborhoods who are more sick of that #### than any of us on the sidelines are. Because they live with it daily and often are somewhat captive to it. Who is killing whom is best answered by saying it's criminals doing the killing and sometimes it's other criminals who get killed, but often it's also innocent people who were in the wrong place at the wrong time. The elephant in the room that no one is ignoring, if you talk to good people who live in those neighborhoods, is that there is a pervasive culture that glamorizes violence. And those good people are sick of that #### too. I don't have any answers. Just observations and sympathy for the people who want out and can't seem to find a way.

  4. I think that's the reason so many of them ( Active Shooters...oh how I hate this term) seem to take their own lives before being caught. Perhaps if one were taken alive and fully procecuted, it might deter this sort of thing happening. But probably not. The type of person who does this is usually angry about something. And thinking that drawing attention to themselves and their beliefs will cure all the world's problems and we'll all go raise beautiful, sweet smelling flowers. To this I say...Bah Humbug!! Live in the world. If you don't like your world, then work to help it. Not destroy it and kill innocents.

  6. Custom fitted, black walnut grips. Maybe shot 200 rounds. Comes with everything from the factory plus a good quality, leather, cowboy style holster. I bought it for bear protection when I bowhunted out west, but I no longer have a use for it. I'll throw in all the 300gr, hardcast handloads I have plus whatever spare brass I can scrounge up. I also have an Alaris Tactical chest holster I'd part with for an extra $50 to the buyer. $700 firm (I don't do haggling. I list for the lowest I'll accept.) No trades. Can meet anywhere between Winchester & Murfreesboro.

  8. Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen, I’m listing up a few handguns here from the safe that don’t see much usage by me these days. 1. S&W M&P40 1.0 full size in the box with all factory paperwork & backstraps. Apex competition aluminum trigger installed (factory trigger parts in the box), factory 40s&w and .357 sig barrels for it, two .40/357 magazines, Storm Lake SS Match 9mm conversion barrel (in the gun right now in the pics), two 9mm 17rd magazines and it has Trijicon U notch rear orange dot front 3 dot night sights installed on it. Looking for $575 2. S&W M&P Shield Plus 9mm, like new condition in the factory box with two magazines (10rd and 13rd). Also included is a Comp-Tac Infidel iwb kydex holster. Looking for $400 3. Glock 20 Gen 3 10mm, like new condition in the factory box with two magazines (15rd). Looking for $500 4. PSA Micro Dagger 9mm, like new condition with two Palmetto 15rd magazines. This is the 43x clone and is optic ready for RMSc red dots. $375 As always cash is king but I will consider some higher end trades and would do a multiple trade for one if what you have is on my wishlist. I’m especially looking for a S&W Victory 22 Performance Center with the carbon fiber barrel. I would possibly consider a Shadow Systems or other higher end type Glock 9mm. I would also be interested in a full size optic ready M&P 9mm. The only thing in the AR world I am looking for is a Fightlite SCR lower. I’m also a sucker for a nice CZ in 9mm most of the time. I’m located in Morristown in East TN.

  9. The best carry ammo is probably whatever known brand hollow point functions 100% in your carry gun and is fairly accurate that you can find and afford. You can obsess over ballistics and gel tests, but the fact is that most handguns suck for stopping bad guys. Their great virtue is that they are very portable and you can have it with you almost everywhere you go. Having said all that, I carry Hornady Critical Defense 115 or Federal HST 124. They are fairly common and I don't want to have to find and test a new round because my ammo is exotic, hard to find, or always out of stock.

  12. I purchased this gun a few years ago on gunbroker (you may remember about my gamble on the cheapest citori on gunbroker). Well the gamble paid off, and the gun is very nice but per the usual it is collecting dust. I was going to throw it back on gunbroker for a $1.00 bid auction but don't want to jump through the hoops to get the account eligable to sell again. I figure I will post it up here and see if I can't get lucky with a local sale. This turns out to be a 1978 Browning Citori Field 12G O/U, it has the model code J53 which from what I researched means that it is a standard field but was originally part of a large lot of guns sold to a type of supermarket chain or hardware store chain (i.e. Sears gets a model code J53 for their store resell guns). The gun has a top barrel that is modified and a bottom barrel that is improved cylinder, both barrels are clean as a whistle. The action is smooth and firm but not tight, really feals like it is just worn in right, my new Citori is still tight and it is much harder on a day of shooting, though I'm hoping to use it more with one less shotgun and get it loosened up. I also was able to aquire this case from another member on here in a trade. I believe I traded a PMR 30 for the case and some cash if my memory serves. This case is an older Browning Superposed case according to the member I traded for. I tried to use it for my new Citori CX White but with the 30" barrels, and external chokes, it doesn't fit. With internal chokes it barely fits, so I figure this case is a much better match for the correct era citori instead and have packaged them together. I'd love to get $1,500.00 for the shotgun and case but am open to offers. Trade interests: Benelli semi auto self defence shotgun, 28G o/u's, will consider anything 9mm, 12G, .22LR, .22Mag, .308 but don't get offended if I'm not interested as I'm a little particular with my interests. 13. It really is. That said, I would greatly appreciate it if yall could start reaching out to your local school and police representatives to try and get some traction on it. One overlooked group that would likely have a lot of influence and speed in which this policy is impemented is the Tennessee School Boards Association, which helps set board policy in 132 of Tennessee's 141 school districts. Messages sent to communications@tsba.net that would encourage a speedy decision on implementing the policy would clear up a large bottle neck. Additionally, if anyone gets a positive reaction from any one of your local policy makers, please send me a PM so that I can follow up as well.

  14. I will be surprised if more than a several hundred public K-12 school employees, besides armed security employees, in the whole state will be carrying handguns a year from now because this bill is so restrictive. The bill is even more restrictive than the public college employee carry law. The employees will have to get permission from a school principal, school superintendent, and police chief. That is basically a may issue or in most places no issue system right there. There are other unnecessary restrictions even after all these hoops are jumped through and someone is approved and trained. The bill is not a very pro gun bill. The politicians could have just legalized K-12 schools and colleges, like Mississippi, for people with an enhanced carry permit but did not.

  15. So have you ever just been SO excited about a potential new hobby that you tell all your family? Being good people they want to help you pursue your new passion. They really don't know where to buy the stuff, but they try. Isn't that important part? Then you realize that the equipment for your other 42 hobbies pretty much prevents you from adding anything else. Or the wife says that anyway. About the time you realize (are told) this, work does it's best to suck out your soul by trippling the workload and reducing manpower. So another nail in the coffin of a new hobby. Then the final nail pounds in when you realize just how crazy it is having 2 kids in college. I mean, I know I am not the only one here that fits this situation. Well short story long. this leaves me holding some Dick's Sporting Goods gift cards that I am not going to let myself use. Yeah, I decided that all on my own. really..... I figure someone on here looking for golf, Kayak. Yeti. or other sports gear might find them more useful. I mean even if you don't like the store, the cash is already spent. Not like you are giving them anything. Maybe you already have a purchase in mind anyway. Stanley mugs anyone? So here is a chance to save some on that next sporty purchase if you read this far.. I have cards totaling $609.23. I would take $550 shipped for them. Or I can just provide you the card numbers to use online. These also work on the Public Lands website from my understanding. Might be open to some pretty limited partial trades, but like I said, space is part of the issue here. Question? PM me please. That way this thread doesn't get longer than it already is.

  16. Personally, I like this. Since the state would not hire SROs for every school...this is the viable alternative. BTW, I still feel that an SRO should be in schools. And would like to further the idea of hiring vets for the positions. JMO

  22. Rifles costing 3 times as much as the M4/M16, and ammo costing 4 times as much as 5.56mm M855. And we're seeing ammo shortages now as woke military budgets get spent on climate and diversity. All to achieve better armor penetration and range. Basically, recreating performance of the .30-06 AP.

  23. I've been shooting 1911s for a lot of years. Even shot IDPA with one for about 12 years. Lots of companies make decent range mags. Metalform makes Colt's factory mags and they're cheaper straight from their website. I traded into a batch of Ed Brown mags a while back and they seem to be good. Mec-Gar is known to make good stuff. But the only mags I'll use for carry or competition is Wilson Combat. The toughest and most reliable 1911 magazines you can get. They ain't cheap, but they're worth it.

  24. I've heard rumors and seen a couple of clips. Unsure if it'll be any good, but I'll probably see it. If you're interested in that sort of thing, I highly recommend Kurt Schlichter's Kelly Turnbull/People's Republic series of novels. Great stories that could actually happen.

  25. Have you seen cops shoot? If a teacher is genuinely interested in shooting, they can become far more proficient than most SROs.
