Come down and rescue good guns before the cops offer pennies for them.

Murfreesboro Police are working on their gun buy back and drug take back program this week.

Ammunition will also be accepted

Again, the event will be in the Middle Tennessee Medical Center Parking Lot on Saturday April 27th 8am to noon

Seriously, wonder what the police reaction would be to someone offering to buy from people bringing something in to dispose of. Don't think there's anything of questionable legality about doing it, but I have to wonder about what might or might not happen.

I dont know what the limit of how many you could buy with out a FFL.

I know you can own as many as you want, but buy at one time might make the 3 letter gangs look a bit to much.

Answer is: there is no federal or TN law that limits the number of firearms you may buy, either through FFL or in private sales, whether at one time or over a period of time.

To stop you, the cops would have to arrest you on some bogus charge, like "creating a public disturbance" or something.

I don't know much about gun prices.
so I'd probably end up spending too much for a rusty piece of $#!t

you'd have to find out what they are buying them back with and for... if it's $25 dollar gift cards to wal-mart...i'd offer $50 cash :)

The bigger risk you would run would be possession of stolen property.

Does anyone know the current TN Code is for purchasing stolen property?

If you ask the seller if they're the legal owner wouldn't that cover you?

39-14-103. Theft of property.

A person commits theft of property if, with intent to deprive the owner of property, the person knowingly obtains or exercises control over the property without the owner's effective consent.

[Acts 1989, ch. 591, § 1.]

Since the cops would be right there, could you get them to run the numbers to see if it's stolen before you buy it?

Keep in mind we're talking about the MPD. They are more likely to run the tags on your car and search it under "reasonable suspicion" before they would run the numbers on a gun for you.

Sorry, didn't take my anti-cynicism pill this morning.

Stand outside on the road in front of where people pull in...  That's part of the public right away they can't hit you for trespass there :)

It's on the Medical Center's property so I guess they could tell you to leave and if you didn't, charge you with trespassing?
