Lame. Very, very lame. Why not respect the spirit of what they're doing instead of pushing yourself to the front of the line?3 points

Thanks to an ammo tip from a TGO'er this morning. I went into Academy in Smyrna before work. Although the ammo was gone by the time I arrived, I had to go see if the gun case was empty. They'd gotten a shipment in, so I browsed. BAM! S&W M&P! I've been paying attention to the hype about these and several of my friends have them and love them. I have a .45 and a 9mm, and was actually hoping it was a 9mm since I already have ammo, but it felt so sweet in my hands. I left empty handed and went to work......and thought about it.....and talked about it.....and 2 hours later asked my GRACIOUS boss if I could take lunch early. He asked why, and upon hearing the answer, said "Go get it, but I want to see it before I leave!" HA HA Yep, I have a good boss! I prayed that it wouldn't be gone in that short time and double checked before I paid my 10 bucks for B.G. check. The guy cracked up laughing and said that he knew I'd be back. Must have been the drool pool I left on the counter. Already broke it down, cleaned it out, and drooled some more. Now to find ammo, a holster, and get it dirty again! I'm sure a lot of you have these, but I am super excited. I've only had two everyday carry pieces, a Ruger P89 and my carry piece now, Ruger P90. So it's a little different to say the least.2 points

:shake: They also instituted a hook up for CO residents that will trump all those. They want to leave as many mags in CO hands as possible. They have not raised their prices on anyone. You can still get their mags as cheap as you always could. They're going as far as moving their entire operation to a free state. Has anyone else done that? I would save my angst for those companies that are busy raking you over the coals. SGAmmo - $35 for a brick of friggin' .22? CTD - enough said etc, etc, etc. Instead you have people, even on this forum, that said they would continue to support the price gougers if it means they can save a couple dollars later on. You have people on this forum that are raping their fellow Tennesseans and gun owners on guns, magazines, and ammunition. If you want to aim your outrage at anyone, they should be target #1.2 points

think twice about planting bamboo, then think about it a third time then just don't do it. It has to be the worst plant ever devised. People want proof there is a god, this plant might just prove there isn't. You will regret it.2 points

6.3 million in tax payer dollars went toward the making of Argo. I'll bitch about the Wookie presenting the Oscar if I so choose. If it elevates me to whiner status - fine by me.2 points

She wasn't there in person. They just put her on for a brief moment to say who won best picture. They asked her to do it, it wasn't like she lobbied for it. I think we have bigger things to worry about than the first lady announcing who won the best picture. These types of threads just make us look like a bunch of 10 year old's who had a ball taken away. I don't like his policies anymore than you do, but these types of comments just make us look like a bunch of whiny losers.2 points

I bought one of these at Optics Planet a month or so ago on sale for my Glock 30 for less than $50 shipped. After wearing it awhile, I gotta say I am impressed. Impressed with the comfort of carry and the secure way it holds my model 30. This is a VERY comfortable holster even with the Glock 30 loaded with 11 rounds of Gold Dot 45's. The pistol canter is adjustable, solid and very firm. The Glock is locked in place with the trigger completely covered and it cannot fall out, or be taken from you easily at all. Yet,with just a little practice and a very simple finger press at the right location, it's smoothly and without any delay in your hand ready for whatever needs arise. If I was in Law Enforcement, this would be my holster of choice. Also comes with a firm belt loop attachment. I'm in love with the paddle though. I carry the 30 often, and this thing holds tightly to the body, conceals very well and did I say very comfortable? I'd recommend to a friend....LOL!1 point

I guess my problem is that they were all gung ho about supporting the 2nd Amendment and now they go and sell to the very people who are attacking it! I agree that their offer to CO residents was a very good thing to do. But I vehemently disagree with their opinion that LE in these states is above everyone else and that they should be allowed to have this equipment but the citizens in their jurisdiction can't. That's not right. It's a double standard.1 point

Well, I carry a G19 in on every day of my life. If I ever have a ND you can blame ME for being an idiot and I'll deserve it. Good time to remind everyone to keep your mind on the here and now where it belongs. Pay attention to what you're doing.1 point

I've had/have several. I may not have professional training or be competitive but it's been my finding that people who have had negligent discharges while using them are obviously at fault not the holster. I just don't see how it's possible unless you're a rubber fingered gumby.1 point

I wanted something that I could shoot everything from Colibras to 60grain SSS again. And I like the H&Rs, the single ejection models just flat work and the 9 shot simultaneous ejection ones are just plain fun. With a speed loader and loading blocks those 9-shot H&Rs can go through ammo faster than you can with a semi-auto, well not quite if you have one of those Ultimate Clip Loaders for the Ruger. I hope to be able to buy Colibras again someday that won't cost me 20 cents a round. A digression: Who are those people selling that stuff? I saw some dude trying to trade 1600 rds of bulk .22LR and a Mosin for a Glock. I felt like asking him if he had the other 350 bucks in cash it would take to buy a used Glock along with his trade fodder. Imagine thinking 1600 rds of .22 and a Mosin worth 450-550.00? If that is the future of shooting I am going fishing for a long long time.1 point

Don't do it! It's nice and dense and you can build things out of it but it's the Devil's plant. My mother has a crop in her Memphis backyard that is a scourge. I'm talking 20' beasts with 1.5" stalks that grow like wildfire. Her's have the runners.1 point

Was talking .22's the other day with Graycrait and made mention of one sitting in my safe. This was my dads and still gets shoot, not as mush as I use to shoot it but it still makes it out. This is the best shooting .22 pistol I have ever shoot. Hope you all enjoy.1 point

Actually, y'all helped a lot. I got online and found several sites that was cheaper. Like up to 10 bucks cheaper......I'm not really hurting since I've got 300 rounds of Remington ball......think I'll just wait the dry spell out a while longer and see what happens. I really do appreciate the input!1 point

Yup, got my tomatoes and peppers started along with a few other garden items. I get my soil warmed by putting a bit a black plastic over the bed, which I'll be doing that this weekend. I generally move plants to the garden mid to late March. Figure I get a good 6-8 weeks of growth in house before moving them to the garden. Ted, I have 2 32 gallon trash cans plumbed together, got my plans here: http://www.familyhandyman.com/DIY-Projects/Green-Home/Saving-Water/how-to-build-a-rain-barrel/View-All#step11 point

One thing you didn't mention, there are several trigger events that could cause a complete economic collapse even if the government starts to turn around and do what it needs to do. What I'm saying is, even if we/the government does the right thing (which is unlikely I grant you), it may all be for nothing. Two examples, if the world starts valuing/trading oil in something other than dollars as that is one of the few things that is propping up our currency now even as we devalue it by monetizing our debt. Another would be a rise in interest rates just to their typical, historic levels which would mean that most of the revenue that government takes it would have to be spent just to pay the interest on the massive debt we already have. I suppose what I'm saying is that I don't think we'll ever have a chance to worry about armed rebellion because if we don't change course and quickly, I think we are looking toward a time when simply staying alive will be our primary concern.1 point

For all this effort, we could have had the criminal penalty for 39-17-1359 removed, which would have resulted in the exact same thing. Maybe even changed 39-17-1308 to include a persons vehicle so no permit would be required to have a loaded firearm in your car.1 point

Same idea hit me last night too. They swept all that up into a neat little pile for us last night. Either it's him or they're using misdirection. I think Raylan will figure it out and let him run off with Ellie May. Damn, Raylan put that hit man down with a quickness last night, didn't he? That was freakin' awesome.1 point

Arguing whether to do away with SS and/or Medicare or not is really pointless because nothing is going to be done by either party. Things are going to get worse until the entire system crashes, and all of the politicians know it is going to happen. I think all we are seeing now is political posturing by each party so they can blame each other for the inevitable crash. Just my $0.02, I think dismantling SS and Medicare is really the only option we have. That said, I believe there are ways one can go about it instead of instantly killing it. First off, you have to have harsh means testing. If you are of age to receive SS and Medicare and financially well off you get nothing. Yeah I know people have paid in to it all their working lives. All I can say to them is sorry. As you will read later, people 45 and below will lose everything they have currently paid into the system as well. I know this is socialism at its finest, and I hate it, but it is the only way that I can see how to dismantle a failed system and still maintain some compassion even if some that are receiving the benefits are undeserving because they acted irresponsibly or they did not plan properly. All those under 45, they would no longer pay SS and medicare taxes. They will be ineligible for either because the time they retire those programs will no longer exist. Ages 45 - 55 can either opt in or out at reduced and means tested benefits. For those currently 55 and above, the programs maintain the current level of benefits, but once again, they will be means tested. As far as cutting other governments programs, departments, agencies, laws, and regulations, I am all for it. I honestly believe that you could cut the federal government by 50 - 70%, cut taxes for those that pay them, allow truly free markets to work, and most people would be much better off. Everything that is cut or done away with can go towards paying off our debt, and fund the phasing out period of SS and Medicare. I know this might make a few people mad, and it is pretty harsh. If you are an illegal immigrant, you get absolutely nothing. I don't care if you have paid taxes into the system or not. You violated our laws, and in some cases committed a felony through identity theft. Since everyone would take a hit under this plan, they have to as well. They should consider what they paid in as rent. If they become naturalized, then they start at zero and the same age conditions that I mentioned above apply. As I said at the being, we can debate what to do and how to do it until we are blue in the face. In the end, nothing of real significance is going to happen until the government is forced to stop printing checks.1 point

Nothing makes me feel better than turning on The Pentagon Channel and seeing some E-4 who has spent their entire military career in the Pentagon AV room having a stack of ribbons greater than mine, and I have one or two ribbons. The Army awards and decorations system has been designed to make POGs feel better about not being in the infantry, IMO.1 point

Eh, Jackie Kennedy was the queen of FL media whoring, and I would have no problem with her bobbed cut hotness prancing across the TV every evening. I wish we had Jackie as FL right now.... she was so hot with those legs.... mmmm. No wonder America is obsessed with Kate Middleton. Nobody is jamming up Internet traffic looking for nipple slips of Michelle Obama.... but Kate... oh yes Kate...1 point

I have a SHTF stock pile that I started long before the madness, I will not get into it just for range time. That allows me the luxury of being able to shoot what I find now, with the exception of .22lr. I have several thousand rounds but not knowing when I could replace them I am reluctant to send them down the pipe without something in exchange, i.e. a squirrel, or something else for the cookfire. On a side note, My FIL asked me tonight if I knew where to get some .22, I just chuckled. He told me he finished last box last week. I told him I had not seen any in a few weeks just to keep trying online and checking the stores. Then it happened, he asked if I still had some. I said I had a few, I had searched and found some online about a month ago. he asked if he could have some of mine so he could target shoot some more. He is a die hard democrat and I could not help but laugh as I told him, "that is a democrat for you, you spent al of yours so now you want some of what I have worked for and saved." I asked him how he voted last year, and he grinned and said "you know how I voted" so I told him "you reap what you sow." I also declined to "share the wealth". Does that make me an ass hole?1 point

While promotions above E4 are slow in the NG, promotions up to E4 are automatic once you meet all the requirements. So, lets say best case he joined at 35 years old (3 years ago), he either isn't passing PT tests, is a complete screw up, or was promoted and then lost his rank... And that is putting this guy in the best possible light, the chances are he's in been for a lot longer than 3 years, which would mean he's an even bigger screw up. I've met NG members who were half his age (19) that are already an E4.1 point

Unfortunately the courts have become just as corrupt as the politicians who pack the benches with like-minded ideological zealots. And sadly their ideology has surplanted the Constitution as the supreme law of the land in many of our nations court rooms.1 point

It's not going to take a large portion of the country... The Dorner incident proves that 10 or 100 lone wolves would paralyze the police in even a large state to the point they would begin violating more and more rights turning more and more people against them in the process. Insurgencies are nasty and virtually impossible to win once they get started.1 point

I believe the time may come, and sooner than we would have expected just a scant year or two ago, when those who value their rights are going to have to decide to take a stand and say "no more" and face the consequences or capitulate.1 point

Went to the range today and put 40rds through the SIG 716 today. That was all I could take since it got really cold and then started snowing really hard right before I packed up for home! Gun functioned flawlessly. I really like it. It makes me not care about my Colt LE 6920 5.56 anymore. LOL Couldn't get an accuracy report due to having to leave so quick after getting it sighted in. Maybe next time! Didn't get pics or vids of it since my wife got too cold and had to go warm up in the car while I worked on sighting it in. But she did manage to get my friend Chris from earlier in the day on video shooting the 50 BMG for the first time. https://vimeo.com/598187781 point
