I just got back from my first sitting for a half sleeve tattoo based on the Crusades. Several large Templar knights covered in blood, with a lot of knights and fighting in the background and some conspicuously middle eastern architecture in the background. I've got two more sittings to go and it'll be complete and then sometime in the next year or two we're going to complete the sleeve with a lower arm piece that incorporates modern warfighters. Basically the theme is "Same shit, different day". So... yeah... I'm completely in tune with my cultural diversity and sensitivity toward the goat-screwing cave dwellers. :D5 points

Oh come on now ... it's their right to be able to buy lobster on your dime!! They deserve it after all; it's not their fault they are disadvantaged in life. Now quit complaining you silly conservative and get back to work (any more complaining and you're a racist sexist bigot Republican). Takes a lot of tax dollars to pay for lobster for all these people.2 points

A while back, I posted pictures of a rifle my father made for my oldest son. It was a Mauser action chambered for 257 Roberts. Tonight, my youngest son was presented with his very own 257 Roberts built by his grandfather as well. Here;s the oldest son's rifle. and here's the newest proud owner of a very special deer rifle. I hope that one day they'll realize exactly what these rifles mean.2 points

You have as much RIGHT to speak about your RIGHTS as anyone else whether you served or not. I, like many other folks here, went out of my way not to offend anyone in anything that we do. Right now at this point in my life I really don't care who gets offended by me or my actions. Don't like my tattoo or my porkchop sandwich? I'll show you where the nearest airport is..BYE! Don't come to my country and complain about me or my way of life. I go to your country (even in the military) and I have to live by your ways, so when you come to mine STFU and get on with your business! My biggest pet pev right now is we allow our own citizens to burn the US flag in protest. Sickening! Oh yea, did I mention it was their right.... Dave S2 points

I have a bad feeling that some guys are go8ng to get confrantional with the breakfast club members soon. I have spoke with guys looking for ammo almost everytime I go into walmart, and all of them have expressed severe dislike and disgust with the people who buy their limit every morning in every caliber they can find. Its not worth a fight to me, but I would laugh to find out a reseller got his ass beat at. Wally world. Sent from the backwoods of Nowhere2 points

I mention the signs to my mom and like the southern lady she is, she tells me its the thought that counts, even if the neighbors down the mountain can't spell lol. First off a huge thank you to everyone who came. A shoot without people attending ain't much of a shoot. Huge thank you to the guys who brought tannerite. You made my day getting to see that stuff. To all the people who let me shoot various toys, from silenced .22's, to 460 and 500 revolvers, an fs2000, a 45 win mag and .401 winchester, and the 338 lapua (and a few Im sure I forgot, another huge thank you for spreading the joy. Its been an awesome day with amazing weather and people all around. Thank you guys, and hopefully we will see everyone plus a few more next time. Sent from the backwoods of Nowhere1 point

I'm not huge into engraving, mainly because I don't have any heirloom quality firearms, but seeing how my dad is getting back into his engraving hobby I thought I'd let him do some work on my Rossi 92 .38/.357. My dad has always been a craftsman and has done custom and commissioned pieces (mainly knives) in the past. After getting out of it for quite a few years I gotta say I'm impressed that he could pick it right back up. Pictures don't capture the finer details and make it look kinda flat, but let me just say it is VERY nice work. Enjoy.1 point

I just do not see the point in taking a old mil-surp and turning it into something trashy. Why take an SKS, and add all of that junk to it? If you want something with all the evil features, why not save up and buy an AK or an AR, or another "assault weapon" system? Instead of taking a Mosin-Nagant or heaven forbid a Mauser :) and butchering it to pieces, why not spend $425 on a Remmy 700? I just do not understand. Rant over now.1 point

I am so tired of the PC bs... They could have just as easily not looked at it and walked away. Its the " I am more important that you".. BS .. If people now get offended because someone has a tattoo on his skin.. stay home .. seriously. True, they can chose and pick who they cater to.. but you would think that an american company that is IN the USA, would have reacted differently.. I think they did not want to offend the General and his entourage.. maybe they brought more money in.I would have told them to either ignore it or walk away... I definetly would not have asked him to cover it up. What a bunch of bull####... And they treat their woman like shit on top of that....( just to throw that in)1 point

For a compendium of incidents in my misspent youth, I received a number of "spankings" if one wished to term them that, as did my acquaintances and friends when our actions warranted. They were applied with such tenacity that I can never remember having that corporal punishment issued for the same offense twice, ever, as they left an indelible mark on the memory as to what was acceptable, and what was not. I suppose the reason I lived past 10 was due to the fact that I prefered not to receive any more of them than was absolutely necessary.1 point

That says something right there. They were shocked that their little juvenile delinquent was charged with shooting into passing vehicles? Two cars were shot into; that’s not an accident.1 point

Just called the offices of Senators Alexander and Corker. I spoke with staff who answered the phone, both were friendly but business-like. I simply told them who I was, and where I live. I asked them to oppose the universal background check which is slated to come up next week. Both offices promised to pass along the message. To be candid, I was not prepared for someone to answer, but rather to leave a recorded message. This also tells me not enough folks are calling in. The word I have heard elsewhere is the auto emails don't get the attention that written (typed or handwritten) letters and phone calls do. I encourage anyone who has not called, to do so. Polite, but to the point, no new gun laws please. Senator Alexander- 202-224-4944 Senator Corker. 202-224-33441 point

I have an Infidel tattoo on my forearm in Arabic. I catch shit from muslims ALL the time. And I've had some muslims that don't even know what it means and ask me... Recently, on my way back to the Stan, I had a Delta stewardess come back 3 times throughout my 15 hour flight to be a sarcastic bitch about it and ask me all sorts of personal questions, asking if I knew what it meant. It's like come on lady. You're extremely unprofessional. I have never been kicked out of places for it, but if/when that day comes and I'm in America, I wont be a happy camper.1 point

I think so many people don't understand how our government was initially set up. Senators were never intended to represent the people, that was the function of the House of Representatives. Senators represented state issues. I would be all for repealing the 17th. There is just too many special interests and outside influence at work with the way it is now. More than likely, bills such as Obamacare would have never made it through the Senate if things were back to the way they should be.1 point

Yes it does :) My wife keeps all her old scented candles and I use them. Nothing stranger than smelling something nice floating down the firing range line. Next time I do it I am going to mix imitation bacon flavor in with the wax.1 point

I carry a XDS .45 and love it. You can get an extended mag that will raise you to 7 + 1. Recoil is not bad at all.1 point

Back to the subject at hand, among the various handguns I own are two XD-S's. I carry one as my pocket gun and my wife carries one as her primary. We've had zero problems out of them from about 500 rounds each so far. Certainly no light primer strikes. For a small .45ACP it is, in my opinion, the best thing going right now. That being said I would not choose it as my primary simply because I prefer something a little bit bigger for extended shooting (ie practice sessions) and I prefer something with a larger magazine capacity. If I were going to pick a .45ACP as my primary it would be either the M&P 45 mid-size with the 4" bbl or the HK 45C. I do in fact have the M&P 45 mid-size but it tends to stay uncarried in favor of the M&P 9mm instead simply for weight savings and larger magazine capacity. Which takes us back to the notion that with modern defensive ammunition there really aren't too many compelling reasons for me to choose a .45 over a 9mm, but the additional capacity in the same size frame does give me a compelling reason to carry the 9mm if given the choice between the two. My logic is a bit screwy perhaps and it almost seems contradictory to what I just said when I explain why I chose the XD-S for pocket carry. For that particular application I once again weighed caliber vs. capacity and came to the conclusion that in a pocket gun where I was going to be deficient on capacity anyway, I might as well carry the largest projectile possible.1 point
-
Well, we all get to believe what we want. I've been dealing with 9mm for 30+ years. I have no problem with the round, but it would take a +P to get close to the powder charge behind a 45acp. I like the big lead... call me old fashioned.1 point

Probably, five shots or less of most anything will probably work in vast majority of defensive scenarios, probably. - OS1 point

I never cared for letting a slide ride home on an empty chamber. I realize this will probably do little damage do the gun, if any, but I am sure it is not good for the gun. I reference Rightwingers explanation above. As such, I do not practice it, and I suggest to my friends that they do not either. All that being said, you could probably do it a million times and a Glock would be ok, but I still do not want to do it.1 point

He's a machinist by trade. They're made in much the same way that well known custom makers make them. He starts with a Mauser action, reshapes the bottom metal, installs an aftermarket trigger, forges the bolt, jewels the bolt, installs, headspaces the barrel and trues the action, laps the bolt to the reciever, cuts, sands, inlets, and beds the action to a stock blank, checkers and finishes the stock, polishes the metal and has it blued. I'm sure I forgot several things, but that gives you an idea of the work that goes into a custom rifle. He makes his own barrel bands.1 point
