  4. I love how the chick sometimes has 50 guys that are "possible" fathers, she's certain each one is the father, and none of them ever are. How worthless the chick must be to have that many people fit into the time frame.... and had to have started forgetting people! If my kids turn out like that, I'd probably go on a killing spree myself! I won't use anything "deadly" to give us a bad rep. No gun or anything, maybe glitter and hard pillows..... Ban that Feinstein!

  5.   I, for one, do understand that you're trying to help. And yes, we're paranoid. That comes from being under attack for decades. If you understand that, you can frame your approach a little differently. That paranoia is justified, and maybe should be dealt with before you start asking those questions. Mental health is going to become a weapon against gun owners. The medical profession should fight that tooth and nail, because it WILL force people to avoid treatment.

  6. This statement of your argument makes ABSOLUTELY no sense. If EVERY house has those, seems to me you should concentrate more on chemicals than guns since exposure is so much greater.

  16. Guys, these lowers are as "spec" as anything from countless other manufacturers.  The same parts that work in a Spikes, CMMG, Smith & Wesson, Sun Devil, blah bah ad infinium, lower will work in these.  This manufacturer produces lowers for themselves as well as others.  If we were at liberty yet to say who the manufacturer was, don't you think we'd have posted it by now?   :)   Information will come soon enough.  This thread was just a fact-finding mission to see if enough folks would be interested.

  18. Actually we filed the claim with OUR insurance. We have to pay our deductible up front but State Farm will get that reimbursed to us with the money they will get reimbursed from her insurance carrier. We are going to consult a lawyer before signing any documents and make sure we are doing the right thing.

  20.   My children are in their 30s and 40s. They understand, both education and government.  They teach in private schools, their children go there, and I get my licks in when I can.  I instruct in hunting, weapons and tools, and methods of food production and saving.   Regarding fear of the government, if you have spent as much time on the front lines of that fight as I have, and are not afraid, you are lacking in rational thinking skills.  If a grizzly comes at you, and you are not afraid, you are again lacking coping skills with reality. Just because a person is afraid, does not make them a coward or a slave.  Fear can stimulate adrenalin, and that can increase a persons strength and mobility.  How a person reacts to facts may instill fear, if they are wise enough to recognize danger, acting to resist it is in my mind, an act of bravery.

  22. I was speaking to a military member during the recent elections. If I remember correctly this happened a few days before the actual election. He said they were told to have their absentee ballots turned in by 7pm that day local time. Problem was they had not received them yet. And when they received the absentee ballots, the following day, they were told to fill them out but they would not be counted because they were not turned in the previous day.   I really like the ink idea. Except use UV ink on top of indelible ink. That way they cannot tell when it is all washed off unless they buy a blacklight.   I also hate early voting, it allows those who cheat to have more time to cheat. Elections should be held on a Saturday from 12 midnight to 12 midnight. Not during the week when people work.   And finally, if you do not pay taxes, unless you are retirement age, you should not be allowed to vote. Why should someone who doesn't pay taxes have a say in how tax money is spent.

  23. I wish more people open carried. Guns will continue to be the target of liberal hatred until they go back to be as normal as someone wearing shoes. The only way to stop people from having an irrational fear of guns is if they see then everyday, and realize that a gun is only a tool, just like a multi tool or a hammer. 25. http://www.thepolemicist.net/2013/01/the-rifle-on-wall-left-argument-for-gun.html "Guns are neither magic talismans against tyranny nor anathematic objects that cause crime and violence. Guns – certainly the personal firearms that are in question – carry a limited but real measure of inherent power, and therefore danger, that everyone should respect. (Indeed it is because they are powerful and dangerous that they are the nexus of an important political right.) But guns are not agents of history. They are not, per se, going to free a polity from oppression or generate unrestrained social violence. Within an insurgent political movement, they can at certain moments be useful, even crucial, for the former outcome; and, within a context of social decay brought on by other factors, they can seriously exacerbate the latter. Their overall positive or negative effect is only determined by the political and social context in which they are used, and the character of the agents who use them."

  31. these type places are expected to make money for their clients.   This is very difficult in a world with the problems that ours has, or even locally with the troubles the USA has right now.   All investing is always of some risk, but right now the high risk high reward stuff is just that: high risk -- and the rewards are, while higher than other investments, not all that good for the risk involved.   The mess leaves these companies in a bind --- trying to make money when there are no sure bets.     So what do you do? Buy gold and hope it goes up instead of down?  If the country does well,  investing in gold will lose you money in a big way in the not too distant future.  If the country continues to go downward, you win.  So even gold is not a sure thing.   Personally, at the end of this year, if my accounts (not with goldman, but they are all the same) are not doing well I am going to pay off my house instead and give the investment scene a rest.   The interest on my house is low and it is still outpacing the returns on investment as of last year.... ugg.

  33.   I wouldn't say 'desperate'.....I'm just frugal.  I'll occasionally give up a couple hours of sleep before work starts to get .22's at $0.04 per if I think I have a shot.  Didn't cost me to be there, wouldn't have profited me to sleep in, so I think the benefit/cost analysis shakes out on the side of taking the 'risk.'  However, paying the inflated prices would cause me to have to offset the cost with more income (not always possible), or to give up something else (i'm stubborn).  Time is free (unless it's time taken away from profitable endeavors), money isn't.     Yup....I'm sure he was.  I absolutely refuse to buy from gougers.

  35. How many millions of dollars is spent performing the background checks today?  Not just on the make work for government employees, but also on wasted time and added expense on the private sector...  It's a lot more than 10 million a year, probably close to 100 million a year...  All of that to arrest and convict 44 people last year?  That doesn't seem like a good return on investment to me.

Try this, yall will like it. http://www.ccrkba.org/?p=3209   CCRKBA CALLS FOR UNIVERSAL BACKGROUND CHECKS ON ALL ELECTED OFFICIALS Wednesday, April 10th, 2013 BELLEVUE, WA – “If politicians want universal background checks, we should start with them,” said Alan Gottlieb, chairman of the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms. He pointed to recent political scandals in the New York Legislature, which just passed a new restrictive gun control law, where a state senator and state assemblyman were arrested last week, as “one small example.”

  41. I'd say closer to two. Halfway through Obamas second term. I always thought this country would stand and fight if anyone tried to take their guns, but people are so politically correct, and/or to scared of the goverment that they won't dare speak of standing up to gun confiscation or *gasp* a revolution. I said it before, and I still stand by the fact that I will not be afraid of my goverment, and their jack booted thugs, and I will not give up my guns. Sent from the backwoods of Nowhere

  45. The establishment Republican Party will not let this happen without a fight and they control the resources of the party to pick candidates, support their campaigns, and discredit those they don't want in office. Like I said earlier, I strongly suspect the vote was not in support of gun control, but the establishment Republicans' way of taking those who won't toe the line out to the woodshed. Screw taking back the party! Move to a party that fits your beliefs and run the Republicans out of town. The Republican Party *wants* you to believe "taking back the party" is the only viable option. Then they give you just enough lip service to keep you from totally abandoning them and continue their statist policies. In response to the post above this one, this isn't rebuilding from scratch. The Libertarian Party has been out there for almost half a century. I can't count the number of fed up Republicans who say they like the libertarians, but won't support them because "a vote for a Libertarian candidate is a vote for the Democrats." If all of these people would actually vote against the Republicans, one of two things would happen: 1) you would see the Republican Party actually start to change in response to the losses at the polls, or 2) some Libertarians would actually get elected and change things though their policies and this would start the momentum. I simply don't understand the logic of those complaining about statist Republican establishment policies, but then running to the polls to vote for candidates selected and backed by the Republican Party. Also, many Libertarians are former Democrats. I also hear the same rhetoric from them. They can't vote for a Libertarian because that's really a vote for the Republican candidate. There are lots of "independents" out there and most of the voting population is in the "mushy middle." Why are they in the middle? Usually because they have libertarian-like values, but are so brainwashed into the two-party system that they don't vote for a third party like the Libertarians, whom they would likely find to be the very middle ground they are seeking. People dream about a Mr. Smith to rise up and go to Washington, but then refuse to vote for him because they have been hoodwinked by establishment parties. Never forget your history. The Republican Party was started by a bunch of pissed of Whigs and in less than a decade they put Lincoln in the White House.
