Buying only what you "need" is relative. This week I only need 100 rounds for the range, but if I can't find it for another 5 weeks I "need" 500 rounds. OP congrats on the score.4 points

I'm all for it. We don't have enough taxes to begin with. Everybody needs to contributing their fair share. :shake: Honestly, I don't know why they are d**king around with this weak piece of legislation. They might as well just go ahead and confiscate our paychecks and retirement accounts. Then they give us back what they think we need to live. After all, 90% of American people support it, it is for the children, and if just one person might be saved it needs to be done.3 points

I hate to say it but the governance of Memphis has been left to unquailified fools who are doing more to destroy a once great city than preserving it.3 points

Thats kinda the situation i thought you to be in based on your original post. No one likes to shoot down to empty and then be completely out wondering when the next time they will have anything will be. I personally reload and have some supplies so i wouldn't have needed that much 9mm so no, i probably wouldn't have bought 800 rounds. That being said if i didn't reload and had no reserves i would have been tickled to find 800 rounds so that i could do a modest amount of shooting and not be bone dry after doing so. I personally have been about out of .22 which my wife has started to shoot and enjoy and for the 1st time since the madness i found a winchester 333rd pack a few days ago for her. I was glad to have it but thats it 333 rounds and we are back in the same boat again so yes if there had been more there i would have bought more. To me, until someone is out or almost completely out they shouldn't cast stones at someone that has been and then got the opportunity to not be. Just my opinion and it may be worth no more than i charged for it.3 points

I 100% agree. I go through 1000s of 9mm and .45 every year and only buy in lots of 1000 or 2000 at a time. That may last a month. So why all the heartache if a guy buys a case when he has a chance? Some of us actually buy and shoot that quantity. Some people play golf or go boating and some of us spend our money on ammo and range fees. Joe, I hope you burn that entire box through that M&P in one range session!3 points

It isn't getting any better. http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2013-04-26/total-us-debt-gdp-105 We're almost to $17,000,000,000,000.00 ($17 trillion) in debt now. Visualized: http://youtu.be/iTBODoBaCns http://demonocracy.info/infographics/usa/us_debt/us_debt.html http://demonocracy.info/infographics/usa/federal_reserve-qe3/money_printing-2012-2013.html Let's hear it for a total failure of leadership on all sides, Dems, Reps, etc., for wasting time on stupid crap that steals freedom and liberty such as anti-2A gun control, while we crumble financially. The goals and priorities of our government are backwards and corrupt!2 points

Some people won't want to hear this, but Memphis is a microcosm of this country as a whole. Memphians and other American voters are voting for sh#t box candidates as a means of thumbing their noses at the perceived powers that be. If you perceive that you have always been crapped on, why not put someone in office who makes you feel good and irritates the person or persons who you perceive have wronged you. I hope that this statement makes sense.2 points

It is rather difficult to get enthusiastic when one has to decide between a piece of s*** and a pile of s***. Liberals rally around their candidates because they know that even through compromise, they will still gain ground. When Republicans compromise, we always lose ground. I will say it again as I did in my earlier posts, pointing out and/or complaining about the flaws of a candidate (past or present) in no way reflects on the future success of Republicans candidates. If Republicans field strong candidates then their chance for success is good, and if they field weak candidates or people vote for them in the primaries because they are perceived to be the most electable, they will more than likely lose.2 points

Ok, Jones story. We were playing in Wisconsin... sold out 15,000 seats... he does "He Stopped Lovin' Her Today"... I play the harmonica part, and Sue Richards does the female "ooo, ooo, ooo, ooo" thing... when he's finished, he comes over and says, "Ladies and gentlemen, Ms. Sue Richards!" Everyone applauds. Then, "And over here on the harmonica, ol' Mike Doooo-shet! Take a bow!" And he hits me in the nuts. In front of 15,000 people.2 points

I don't like the signs. The signs are very unprofessional. In my opinion, you can't pay our public servants enough, but those billboards cross the line. I would like to see the officers get a pay increase, but I would also like to get a more professional department in return. I'm more afraid of some of our officers than I am of the cities gang members.2 points

Exactly. This isn’t going on in all jails and prisons. If it’s going on here they need a change in administration.2 points

Moonlight is a must. However, I would recommend hitting it after you go to the gun shop because you'll be in a food coma. Be careful driving home afterwards. :)2 points

first of all i did NOT "circumvent store policy" the policy was 10 boxes per customer per day ... the owner and his wife were both present and they both know me AND my wife, even though we are married we are still 2 different people, so im sorry if the fact that i finally after many months of looking found a decent bit of ammo but i didnt realize that my fellow gun enthusiasts were so in need that they would turn on me like the fat guy in the donner party, secondly i used the term "wiped them out" fairly loosely .. after the 16 boxes me and my wife picked up there were still probably 20 left on the table of the same kind (was on a folding table at the end of the counter with a few other calibers/brands) ... and MANY other boxes of other brands of 9mm behind the counter, i did however pick up the last 2 boxes of .22 bulk they had, picked up the first 2 (it was 1 box per customer per day) the day before right as they closed, which is why i knew to be there when they opened the next day lol2 points

your right its not their fault. its the fault of the guards and warden that this is going on. sounds like they should be added to the prison population.1 point

I wouldn't feel bad Joe, I'm sure the ones that are being hard on you have PLENTY of ammo set back. I'm not sure when less than a case of 9mm and 999rds of .22lr became hoarding but i feel real certain that if any one of them was down to a few hundreds rounds on hand they would have done the same thing. Theres no difference between buying some bulk 9mm in person and buying it online so i can't see where your doing anything that they aren't. I'm glad to see when other forum members have a streak of good luck and would think others would be as well.1 point

I wonder if you could use that as a defense. I mean I live in the hills of Tennessee and if I found myself in trouble some place else how could they find a jury of my peers. Wouldn't it be nice if, regardless of where the crime was committed, you were tried in your county of residence by your peers. That would nullify a lot of screwed up laws in other states. We could carry a firearm in places like NY without fear because a jury of our peers would would not convict you for having a gun with a HCP.1 point

Awesome. Now be a winner and go resell that 22 for $50. C'mon, think of all that hard work and time you put in, and the gas for driving, don't you want to make 20 bucks for it?? That's like 66% profit!!! Screw the stock market I'm gonna be a professional ammo flipper.1 point

The WASR 10/63's came into the country as single stack guns during the AWB. After the AWB was lifted they would open up the magwell to accept standard magazines. Problem was they were probably done by hand so some have very, very loose fitting magazines. This can case all kinds of malfunctions. So if you are looking at ANY 10/63 make sure to check magazine fit and if it has a wobble walk away. The canted sight problem is common place with Century guns. It is fixable but it does take money so take that into account if you are thinking of buying one with a canted front sight. Century specific guns, any of them, have had various issues over the years. So if it is a Century scrutinize it very closely. As a matter of fact if I could not meet at the range and shoot a Century gun I would pass on it. I have seen more with issues than those without.1 point

Well she aced the women's safety course with a 99% on the shooting part that used the new target the same as the new HCP course target. She would have had a 100% but one of the range officers touched her to try and get her to move closer to the target just as she pulled the trigger, but she atleast kept it in the blue on that shot even after being startled. So since her confidence is high right now, I went ahead and signed her up for Saturday's HCP course at the same place. I've done my best to prepare her and she didn't need any help and was praised by the teacher and fellow students for being able to handle her revolver like she's had it for years instead of only weeks. And i even went as far as making sure I had bought enough matched brand and load target ammo to cover both courses so she would be used to it and try to eliminate all variables from different loads. I hope she passes it all then it's off to expensively lol let her practice using the hydroshock 38 +p loads I bought for her to carry. Sent from my HTCEVOV4G using Tapatalk 21 point

To me it has less to do with length, than with style and intent. I built 2 13" blades from the same bar of 1084. One is a bowie knife, with a cross guard and sharpened back clip like a traditonal bowie. So I call it a knife. The other has a tip and curve like a small katana (I blank on the correct term) but I refer to it as a bush sword due to intent and blade style. Its mostly semantics, interpration and intention of the blade from what I can find. There is no set defintion Sent from the backwoods of Nowhere1 point

New here? Step up and tell us about yourself. A good format to follow would be your first name (if you care to share it), where you're from, what your interests are, what gun(s) you have, where you like to shoot, etc. It helps break the ice and you might just find new friends as a result.1 point
