  1. Couple things... the only good Black Widow is a dead Black Widow. They have ruined a few peoples' lives. Second, (going into OhShoot mode for a second), they're not insects. :)

  2. I'm just saying it's happened numerous times in the past and I dread it every time it does.  I think that customers should be savvy and know when a business provides less than acceptable customer service, so don't get me wrong here.  I'm just saying these threads almost always result in some junior lawyer wannabe sending me an email telling me they're going to sue me or TGO because of what someone else posted on this site about their business.  Libel, slander, etc.   None of which is even remotely applicable because people are allowed to have opinions and are allowed to share them like this, but it never stops the guy who thinks his childhood spent watching The People's Court from thinking that makes him a lawyer and sending stupid emails.   Sorry to vent.  Just a glimpse inside my world I suppose.   :)

  6. I have no reason to lock or delete this thread whether they complain or not.  Like I said, people are allowed by law to voice their opinion of people, businesses, etc.  It just never fails that someone who doesn't understand the legal definition of libel or slander will always scream about them being libeled or slandered and try to bully a reaction out of me.   I don't have the patience required to be a lawyer.  My first impulse when people are being asshats it to reach out and slap the piss out of them.  Lawyers are a little more tactful.

  9. Most people would be wrong then. That isn't how contracts work. It takes a lot of time. I don't see how that would be a "pay off" any how. For what? What favorable action did Remington take towards a State government other than not moving? The contract wasn't even with the STATE government, it was with SOCOM. You think there are many people there that are sympathetic to NY and their oppressive gun laws? The correct answer is no, by the way.

  10. Not that I always agree with Hamilton, (or even usually), but even he gets it to a major degree, Federalist #33 para. #5:   “If the federal government should overpass the just bounds of its authority and make a tyrannical use of its powers, the people, whose creature it is, must appeal to the standard [the Constitution] they have formed, and take such measures to redress the injury done to the Constitution as the exigency may suggest and prudence justify.” [emphasis mine] Remember in the 10th Amendment: The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.   The People, still have a place, and a responsibility in our governance, if they would just get off their arses and exercise it.

  11. In my mind there's not a lot of difference between this and the governments in Tunisia, Egypt and Libya shutting down Twitter and social networking before their respective uprisings. A government can't outlaw thought, but it can try to muzzle individual voices. There's no military hardware here; this is not something that ITAR ought to apply to. This is a First Amendment issue more than a Second Amendment issue. Someone's just using a piece of plastic shaped like a gun as a megaphone.

  12. Good for Remington! As I posted in the other thread; I support Remington 100%. We are allies in this fight. To think a manufacturing facility that big can just up and move is ridiculous. However, they are building in other states. They may be in NY, but at least they are in the U.S. Once the U.S. companies are gone; imports can be banned with the stoke of a pen.

  13. They can't undo what has been done. Once something is on the internet it is there forever.   Personally I see nothing wrong with what they are doing. And I bet that it will stand up to freedom of speech muster. If they are going to limit their ability to release this information then it will be a huge blow to everyone. Imagine if all the other reference materails were pulled off the net. I know they can't but it is easy to limit what someone has access to.   IMHO it is not a ITAR issue. It is a freedom of speech issue.

  14. I think I will stick to TN Gun Country. I haven't had one negative experience, then won't scalp for ammo when they do have it in, and it's closer to me that anything other than Allen's.

  15. This is the ultimate example of the fact that government is OF the people, not OVER the people. They can't stop the tech, it's already surpassed any control they might have thought they had.   Government power is derived by the desire of the governed, not imposed. The DD Liberator was designed to remind folks of that and has done so admirably.

  18.   Fine with me, but I lean more toward the fact that the employee's vehicle is personal property, and the fact that the employer allows it onto his lot does not give the employer any more say as to what is legally contained in it than an employee has a say in what is legally contained in a company owned vehicle.   If the employer does not want to offer parking for his employees' private vehicles, fine. Let him compete in the workforce only for workers who are willing to arrive by other means.   - OS

  28. There were also several Afghan SOF and at least one Afghan interpreter killed in the crash. The ceremony was a joint ceremony which included our Afghan partners. There is a picture of an Afghan LTC speaking at the ceremony. The fact that there was an Imam there should be expected, just as we had Chaplains from our service there. If the Imam had said anything intentionally disgraceful it would have been noticed by one of the many Afghans in attendance. The only thing I hear is Quranic verse being sung, which is in Arabic, so perhaps no one there would understand it because they speak either Dari or Pashtu, but they would still likely know the intent of the verse and would have nipped that in the bud. One or more of the Afghan SOF guys would have kicked his ass. I don't think there is a story here, I think it is people getting worked up over nothing based on misleading and unreliable information.

  30. I bought a used KelTec PF9 a few years ago that ran flawlessly for as long as I had it and like a dummy I sold it. About 6 months ago I got the itch for another one and ordered a new one from Buds that was just plauged with problems. Weak extractor spring, extractor breaking, etc. I finally got it semi fixed and sold it off cheap with full disclosure. I was sick about it.   Well I have been looking for another pocket gun and decided to give the PF9 another chance. I got it for a good price along with 150 rounds of ammo. I went and shot 5 mags through it yesterday without a hitch. I don't really have a point to this post but just thought I'd share for the heck of it. One thing is for sure, this little dude has some pop to it.

  38. I guess I'm an odd duck. I still like to use old tools on a daily basis. Blacksmithing, but also axe and a cross cut or bucking saw for cutting trees, broad axe andfoot aze for hewing logs, shingle froe for splitting shingles and shakes, and of course harnessing the horse for some plowing or logging. Extremly impressive video, would love to spend time with that guy. Sent from the backwoods of Nowhere

  44. Not to get into it again but my personal property rights (ie Vehicle) are not trumped by someone else's property rights (ie parking lot) simply because they come into contact with one another. The law simply allows both property rights to be exercised and used in conjunction with one another and not at the exclusion of one over the other.   Of course others like FedEx and some on this forum disagree.

  46. Here is what I just sent:   "I sincerely hope you had an enjoyable time today playing golf with the President. Even more so, I hope he did not succeed in swaying your vote for more gun control to his side of the aisle.  Americans are watching their leaders with an eagles eye these days Mr. Corker.  We are doing so because our needs go way beyond Conservative leadership.  Our needs are for STRONG Conservative leaders that will stand up to this White House administration intent on compromising our rights for their cause. We need strong leaders that will wage war against the criminals and for more CRIME control, Mr. Corker, not wage a war against legal citizens for gun control.  I am an avid sport shooter and so is my wife Mr Corker. We are not fools and would truly hate to see a first step taken to limit our firearms no matter how small that step is. We believe in the 2nd Amendment Mr. Corker. Not for sport shooting only, but in its original intent of protecting all the rest of our rights. No one knows the future Mr. Corker. There may be a future day when our kids will face a tyrannical government and need the right and means to fight against it.  If these rights are compromised now, they will not have a chance. Further, I'm sure you know you will lose the support of hundreds of thousands of Tennessee voters by voting for any more gun control bills in this push by the liberals as they fight law abiding citizens rather than criminals. This is a sign of an administration that wants control, not freedom. My wife and I are just two of hundreds of thousands of legal gun owners in this state that vote. Do the right thing and protect our 2nd amendment rights from the liberal charge against us."     Will it do any good?  I don't know, but it's better than doing nothing...right?

  49. In the words of the immortal Lewis Grizzard, "it's a trick General Sherman, there's two of 'em!" It's a ruse that both parties are in on - whether they realize it or not. It gives some credence to the old saying that if voting actually mattered they'd have outlawed it already.
