At some point it has to stop being about money and start being about what is right and wrong. I don't have one and have no intentions of getting one, but to be honest with you I don't really care what the Supreme court says. An infringement is just that. The Constitution is the law of the land and I will follow it until I die. Those are God given rights, and as such, no man can take them away. The right to self protection and to be self goverened is a natural right, and that means being equally as well armed as those who might chose to take away those rights. Sadly we have become a cowed Nation who lets politicians tell us what we may do. This stuff didn't happen in years past because people simple told the Goverment where to put it. And yes I know the NFA has been around since 1934 and I have no idea why they put up with it back then, consdering that they made an Amendment banning alchol and people like my family continued to make and haul it irregardless of what the Goverment boys said. I find it interesting how some, who profess to be conservative, actually support government snooping.  Some of the Fox News righties are in full agreement with what is happening.  I guess if you really listen to them for a while, you can come to the conclusion that they are not conservative at all.  They are just hawkish socialists.  Perhaps that is just typical of the northeast Republican crowd.

This book is a treasure trove of information about the Army of Tennessee. It's not a good read at all, but it's first hand accounts of day to day camp life. How they fed themselves, sheltered and moved. These are stories that may have been lost forever. I need to share these tid bits with someone.   They buried some cannon barrels at Camp Dick Robinson in Kentucky, in an apple orchard, so the Yankees wouldn't get them. They never went back to dig them up, being smoothbore Napoleons, they are made of brass and won't rust. Are they still there?   A farmer came up one day to pick up his son, who lied about his age to join. The captain gave him his boy back and they went home.         Being a volunteer army, the officers typically did not punish the men for disciplinary infractions by torturing them or humiliating them.  The men would accept being on work details, they would accept being shot but not being hung by their thumbs. The union army (Yankees) had no such restraint. Union soldiers suffered severe tortures and humiliating punishments.   The writer lamented that the worst death a soldier could suffer was dying in a hospital of the fever or disease. He said those were the real heroes.   He also goes in to great detail of the negro "servants" that went with the army. If you were a private and you owned a slave, he would have to do what you told him. You, as a private, had to do what you were told, but officers and NCOs could not give your slave any orders. These black men were never documented so there is no telling how many served with the Confederacy.   Artillery men were sometimes ordered to leave their guns and follow the infantry in an assualt so that when they capture enemy cannons they could man them and use them against the enemy. They would be unarmed during the attack.

I was at Academy today with my little girl to buy her some shoes. I got to snag a box of American Eagle .22 for $2.19. I was ecstatic until I got home and found out it was a box that only comes with 40 rounds. What a ripoff. LOL :surrender:   I only got them because they were there on the counter. Agreed, most home invasion scenarios will be decided within a matter of seconds, and although I personally use a shotgun as my "go to" bump in the night stick I sure wouldn't want someone telling me (or passing legislation mandating) that I couldn't use a higher-capacity weapon if I felt the need to do so. Especially if there was some sort of wide-spread unrest, where a homeowner might have to protect themselves &/or their families by fending off hordes of desperate or crazed people (or OH NOES! even hordes of undead or infected zombies!). Meh, IMHO everyone should use whatever they are most comfortable with using, but everyone should also be mindful of the potential of possibly injuring/killing neighbors (regardless of the weapon used) &/or what potential jurors might think if for some reason the shoot is ever prosecuted (again, regardless of what weapon is used), granted protecting your family should come first, but limiting any potential legal trouble in the aftermath should also be taken into serious consideration. With a shotgun, I believe that I have not only the best tool for a limited CQB encounter, but also the best choice to limit over-penetration/neighbor & legal liability /potential prosecution/juror concerns. If need be I'll use my shotgun & sidearm to fight my way to my safe & break out something drum-fed.

Since there is no limitation on being a Nevada resident to vote I think we need to show how much support we can get for something like this compared to how much support Bloomberg is able to get.  Everything I'm seeing is showing him going towards gun control at a state level since they failed initially at the federal level.  Anything we can do to show there is more of us then them is a good thing in my mind.

Also if the best way to kill a skitter is to head shot it why do they blaze away in full auto and not use their sights. They waste too much ammo

They aren't a minority in Indonesia, where this is taking place. In any Muslim country I've been to bikinis would be illegal unless you were at one of the private resorts where it may be allowed. Yes, quite a bit along with a lot of other loud, damaging noises. Not too bad hearing loss but terrible tinnitus. I had an AK fired with the muzzle a few inches from my right ear. I assume that is the cause of most of the damage since I have the most hearing loss in that ear. A few shots in a house in a self defense shoot isn't that big of a deal though. Maaayyybe some hearing loss, but probably so negligible that it won't make a difference and shouldn't be something to keep you from using it to stay alive. In the moment it won't even bother you due to the adrenaline, trust me.

You can murder a man, but you cannot murder a cow. Even if illegal, immoral etc, killing a cow does not rise to the same level as murdering a man. Therefore, the commandments do not prohibit self-defense.

Jesus says to turn the other cheek. He did not resist his own murder at the hands of the Romans. I don't claim to be Jesus nor do I have the luxury of sacrificing myself or my family for the sake of conscience or sin. Besides, it is man's interpretation of God's words to say that (all) killing is a sin, to include self defense. I'll leave that judgement to God. Man can STFU.
