  1. So I was installing a water line today at a very old, backwoods house and dug up something intresting. Its an 1851 Colt Navy pattern cap and ball. I disassembled it to a degree at lunch, it is complete except for the grips. Just thought Id share the coolest thing I ever dug up. My guess is its a reproduction, but not sure how to tell. It was a good 2 ft in the ground. Tapatalk ate my spelling.

  5. All I can say is when that guy in the White House Promised Change he meant it and now the people that voted for him are seeing it. I hope they are happy with his change and I hope everyone that voted for change gets to experience it.  Thing is I kinda liked the way it was before his change but I guess I was in the minority huh?

  15. Couple of my friends and I decided to make the drive to Georgia last week and visit as many of the film locations we could find. We managed to see a bunch of them. Some of the locations are off limits like the farm house which is privately owned, the prison is actually a studio set and the rock quarry is owned by the city of Atlanta and is posted. Other than that we seen a bunch. It's cool cause some of the locations are far apart but seem like they are just around the corner on the series and some are really close but seem far away in the series. We did visit "Woodbury" which is actually Senoia, GA. It was pretty fun driving the back roads of Georgia looking for these places. They have an app called GA walking dead tours and it's a do it yourself help guide. The town of Senoia is actually home to a bunch of different films and TV shows. We plan on going back soon and finding the new season locations and some we missed. In these pics I took a pic and combined it with either the scene pic from the movie or a pic that represents what it is. If you have seen the show you will know most of them. http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc340/bean962/PhotoGrid_1377955205429_zps97ecbaa4.jpg http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc340/bean962/PhotoGrid_1377996529299_zps84621ee0.jpg http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc340/bean962/PhotoGrid_1377996456966_zps8379e9a7.jpg http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc340/bean962/PhotoGrid_1377996415678_zps4b4cb508.jpg http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc340/bean962/PhotoGrid_1377996415678_zpsdfdf0546.jpg http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc340/bean962/PhotoGrid_1377995812996_zps596ec840.jpg http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc340/bean962/PhotoGrid_1377995656880_zpsfa6ea842.jpg http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc340/bean962/PhotoGrid_1377995415753_zps2bf9382e.jpg http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc340/bean962/PhotoGrid_1377994637659_zpsf5ea872a.jpg http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc340/bean962/PhotoGrid_1377994423355_zpsd0c92b2e.jpg http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc340/bean962/PhotoGrid_1377994143389_zps71d91692.jpg http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc340/bean962/PhotoGrid_1377990001880_zps9554e65d.jpg http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc340/bean962/PhotoGrid_1377982982894_zpse4ce0c9c.jpg http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc340/bean962/PhotoGrid_1377982935360_zpsa5e4cc7c.jpg

  16. I can shoot it but can't sell, trade or give it away. This is a 1954 made Savage 24 .22LR/.410. It has had one shot fired through it back in 1954. Note the hang tag. This was what my father in law gave my mother in law for a wedding present! My MIL gave it to me to keep. FIL has been deceased 3 yrs.

  28. For those of you who missed it, Sen. Ted Cruz in his filibuster against funding Obamacare, just read "Green Eggs and Ham" to the gathered august body of blowhards.  His punchline was perfect:  "I do not like Obamacare with a fox in a box, or with a mouse in the house."  That's putting it on their level.

  32. NPR will piss you off on a regular basis, also, but it's the best game in my area for news in the morning, (just keep your BS filter up to date), and I like Car Talk on the weekends while I'm in the shop. Plus I can't stand pop-rap-new country&western (hahaha), indie rock, etc, etc.  A solid hour of Rush and Hannity just annoys me, also.

  33. Interesting to me as more governments join and/or ratify this treaty- knowing that the government-to-government back-door arms trades have always been "outside the law",  this law can only serve to widen the power-gap between governments and the citizens those governments should be serving.   Ominous.   Let me also say, that I am absolutely for.. for... for compassion - for life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness for all members of the human race.  It breaks my heart to see people in pain from violence - no matter who they are or where they are.  I want kids, women, and men to be safe in all countries, BUT... effectual stability, safety, and security (and root morality) will always be a local cultural issue - it has never been governmental and will never be.  Governments (the systems, not the individuals) are designed to rule... and if left unchecked, the system will work to bring every experience under that rule.     Intersting about the United Nations... it generally lacks oomph to effectively adjudicate and regulate government entities that offend, so it has resorted to encouraging governments (many of whom are not egregious offenders) to regulate their own citizens.     I don't buy into sinister conspiricy theories; I simply think the systems are functioning as they were designed - what are missing are effective checks and balances.   The world  - through increased population and technology is increasing in complexity.  (IT & programmers, check me on this) Whenever you increase the complexity of a system, you have to increase the structure (rules) to maintain stability and functionality.   Not to over-bibliocize this - but in wisdom literature, you can look to the Christian Scriptures:  Israel asked for a King - their God said, "You don't know what you are asking; trust me when I say, you don't want a King."  Israel essentially demanded, "Yes, give us a King!!"  - Israel got their kings and -through good and bad kings, Israel paid the price for giving their collective representation over to a King.      In societies' desire for safety and security, masses of people are asking for a King - more rule of law - to keep them safe.  Many of us are responding... "You don't know what you are asking; trust me when I say, you do not want a King."    Orwell much anyone?

  37. I think a lot of you are underestimating the number of hours a server works too.  By the time you include getting to the job on time, going through line up, reviewing the menu/specials, setting up, working, closing down, doing side work, etc....you're looking at an easy 8 hours.   I haven't worked in a restaurant since 2005 but I can't imagine that its changed that drastically.  I worked in one of the better places in Memphis and that job was no joke with regards to the stress of dealing with people and the managers.  Waiting tables is not easy.  Again, you can recognize someone who has worked in a restaurant before.  They recognize the difference between BS excuses and good work.   And they tip accordingly.

Thank you for you service to the community.   Hope you enjoy the forums and look forward to meeting up with you again on TGO!

  48. I don't see what anyone would gain in antagonizing an LEO over something as simple as a request for ID. If you aren't doing anything wrong, what's lost besides a few minutes of your time? You may wind up having a pleasant conversation and making a friend. If you're a jackass and put up a fight over showing some ID, what is there to possibly gain?
