  3. CMT will be converting people to the TGO group this week.  Once that's done, they'll add stock, and you'll have to opportunity to complete your order by adding stuff to your cart and paying for it.   From there, it'll get made and hopefully ship in time for the holidays!   Everyone will be getting a PM once the conversion is done and ordering is ready.

  7.   Oh course it matters if a Republican Senate seat goes to a Dem. You just can't rationalize that away because Lamar isn't as conservative as you'd like.   I ain't voting for a Dem in this day and time, no how no way, nor am I abstaining from voting so that a Dem vote counts that I didn't neuter.   - OS

  9. Yep.   Ya know, how's this for simple as far as the current impasse? :   Don't raise the debt limit, pay the bills, and run the government on the rest.   Yep, would have to be major painful cuts, and they'd have to be discussed and decided on.   But however painful it might be, it's less painful to make them by choice than have them inevitably made for you later.   Would mean getting rid of about 40% of the federal government. How could that be bad?   - OS

  11. I had an obscure part break on one of my Dillon powder measures last week.  I couldn't even see a parts breakdown to find the name of the part.  So I told them the funnel like cast piece that screws on the #2 expansion powder loading die.  Thingy, whatzit cast thing.  I got an email today saying the part was on the way.  Went out to the mailbox a few minutes later and there it was.  It's actually a "Body Collar Complete" in the rare event it breaks again.   This isn't the first time I've gone back to Dillon for a problem and their response is always the same.  Fast service, no bs replacement of anything that breaks at no cost.  It's hard to beat a warranty like that. 13. Found this on a friends Facebook page . Alan Simpson, the Senator from Wyoming calls senior citizens the Greediest Generation as he compared "Social Security " to a Milk Cow with 310 million teats. Here's a response in a letter from PATTY MYERS in Montana ... I think she is a little ticked off! She also tells it like it is! "Hey Alan, let's get a few things straight!!! 1. As a career politician, you have been on the public dole (tit) for FIFTY YEARS. 2. I have been paying Social Security taxes for 48 YEARS (since I was 15 years old. I am now 63). 3. My Social Security payments, and those of millions of other Americans, were safely tucked away in an interest bearing account for decades until you political pukes decided to raid the account and give OUR money to a bunch of zero losers in return for votes, thus bankrupting the system and turning Social Security into a Ponzi scheme that would make Bernie Madoff proud. 4. Recently, just like Lucy & Charlie Brown, you and "your ilk" pulled the proverbial football away from millions of American seniors nearing retirement and moved the goalposts for full retirement from age 65 to age, 67. NOW, you and your "shill commission" are proposing to move the goalposts YET AGAIN. 5. I, and millions of other Americans, have been paying into Medicare from Day One, and now "you morons" propose to change the rules of the game. Why? Because "you idiots" mismanaged other parts of the economy to such an extent that you need to steal our money from Medicare to pay the bills. 6. I, and millions of other Americans, have been paying income taxes our entire lives, and now you propose to increase our taxes yet again. Why? Because you "incompetent bastards" spent our money so profligately that you just kept on spending even after you ran out of money. Now, you come to the American taxpayers and say you need more to pay off YOUR debt. To add insult to injury, you label us "greedy" for calling "bullshit" to your incompetence. Well, Captain Bullshit, I have a few questions for YOU: 1. How much money have you earned from the American taxpayers during your pathetic 50-year political career? 2. At what age did you retire from your pathetic political career, and how much are you receiving in annual retirement benefits from the American taxpayers? 3. How much do you pay for YOUR government provided health insurance? 4. What cuts in YOUR retirement and healthcare benefits are you proposing in your disgusting deficit reduction proposal, or as usual, have you exempted yourself and your political cronies? It is you, Captain Bullshit, and your political co-conspirators called Congress who are the "greedy" ones. It is you and your fellow nutcase thieves who have bankrupted America and stolen the American dream from millions of loyal, patriotic taxpayers. And for what? Votes and your job and retirement security at our expense, you lunk-headed, leech. That's right, sir. You and yours have bankrupted America for the sole purpose of advancing your pathetic, political careers. You know it, we know it, and you know that we know it. And you can take that to the bank, you miserable son of a bitch. P.S. And stop calling Social Security benefits "entitlements". WHAT AN INSULT!!!! I have been paying in to the SS system for 45 years “It's my money”-give it back to me the way the system was designed and stop patting yourself on the back like you are being generous by doling out these monthly checks . EVERYONE!! If you agree with Patty Myers, says, please PASS IT ON!!!!

  16. Folks... ETP's post above (...#33...) is exactly right...  Treaties cant trump the Constitution (...as others have wisely opined...)....    As to the UN "enforcing" anything... Dont worry....  .    As to politicians here in the good ole USA doin anything about "banning guns"; the supremes have ruled on that one too... The Second Amendment is an "indivudual right"; despite whatever Rugh Bader Ginsburg and others say... They lost...     The signing of the un arms treaty wuz red meat for the anti-gunners and a red flag to infuriate the "real people" in this country... It was agreed to in symbolic terms only (....treaties require ratification and cant trump the Constitution....) by two of the most heinous anti american sons of satan who have lived since the civil war --- maybe ever in our history as a nation...     They are both overbearing, pompous, narcissistic, nincompoops who have no notion of anything other than that they should be emperors and that us delightful rustics should bow down and do what they say--- after all, they are the best and brightest; and we (...and the Founding Fathers, evidently...) are just ignorant old men......    Their main problem is that we wont bow down, the Bill of Rights restrains them, and there will be another election soon; and they will be out... That is the true genius of our system of government... The hell with them both... Keep your powder dry...   leroy

  24. I tend to doubt personally that Marshall law will be declared over something like this. To be perfectly frank, I don't believe Marshall law will be enacted even if this happened in every major city in the country. We're not talking full scale riots but rather protests. There is a difference, anyone who's been even remotely local to full scale rioting should know this. Might as well add that I'm getting weary of reading about Marshall law in general, seems some folks have turned into the boy who cried wolf. A congressman takes a dump at 03:00AM and the next thing we know we're reading about how Marshall law/race riots/ FEMA camps/ etc. are to shortly follow. How are we supposed to know what's really serious if we're all going around jumping at shadows all the time? I think this mentality actually plays right into the hands of "them". We distract ourselves with so much stupid $hit that we effectively blind ourselves to the issues that matter. In other words, I do hope the truckers rally, I hope it's a huge inconvenience to our political "leaders", and I hope that it helps wake up even one person.

  27. Personally, I don't think it looks 'tactical', at all.  Instead, I think it looks classy - likely more classy than it did when new.  My guess (not being familiar with the model) is that this was what I would think of as a utility or maybe a field shotgun even when it was brand new.  To me, that is the cool thing about old, utility and field guns - they aren't anything 'special' in the overall world of firearms and you can get them at reasonable prices, especially if they are 'cosmetically challenged.'  Often, you could just shoot them as-is and not worry about dinging them up because they are already dinged up (with one or two exceptions, that has been my approach with the few that I have.)  Alternately, you can restore them to 'like new' status - but then all you really have is a 'like new' utility firearm.  To me, that works in some cases (depending on the design of the gun, the kind of wood, the figure in the wood and so on) but in other cases it doesn't really do anything exciting and the gun loses the 'character' it got from having seen some real use.  A third option is to do what you have done and do some light resto-modding so that the finished product keeps something of the spirit of the original while at the same time taking on a customized, personal look.  To my eye, what you ended up with looks a lot better than what you started with even if the stock hadn't been broken, etc.  In fact, I'd say you elevated it a bit above the 'utility' class of guns.  In that last pic, the stock almost looks like it was carved from a nice piece of marble or something.  I really like it.   Now for a question:  how did you get that 'webbing' look with the black paint.  Did you just go all 'Jackson Pollock' on it or is there some method to getting nice, even coverage?

  34. You know our Founding Fathers are probably talking among themselves asking this question. How much are you people going to take before you say NO MORE, NOT 1 MORE INCH. If you know anything about Nazi Germany, this is beginning to look very similar. You have the intelligent, well mannered people that just don't want to fight back, they are better natured than that, they prefer to use the voting polls, but this doesn't work when your opponents can constantly increase their numbers by giving them YOUR money. It makes me mad on 1 side, sick to my stomach on the other. Hussein and his Gestapo police force, park rangers and such are pushing their weight around, shutting us out of boat ramps, public parks, c'mon people wake up and smell it, if it looks like dog sh!t, smells like dog sh!t, then it probably is. Let us all make our Founding Fathers proud and vote these A$$ES out. The Founding fathers never for a moment thought there would be career politicians. They intended for someone to leave his business, work FOR their country and go back to their business. But comes along a bunch of LAZY, GREEDY, SLEAZY, LYING, THIEVING career politicians that are not working FOR their country, they are trying to destroy it and they will do as good of a job as we allow them. GO vote, encourage all your friends and family to vote, starting in your local elections, then state, then Federal we can make a difference!! GOD BLESS AMERICA!!

(I can not do this just now) Learn traditional skills such as gardening, canning, hunting, welding, and home mechanics. (done) Network with like-minded individuals. (done) Get out of debt. and stay out of debt. (done) Stock up on storage food and other key logistics. (done) Arm yourself and get tactically-oriented firearms training.(working on it) Develop a second income stream with a home-based business that will be depression proof and resilient to mass inflation(working on it) Assemble a reference library.(not yet) Train in advanced first aid.(done) Get a ham radio license.(why, other than to let people know where you are) Become involved with your local farmer's market.(working on it) Join a local Volunteer Fire Department.(been think about this)   What about yall, it all makes good sense.

  38. I'm telling ya'll, he is doing everything he can do to create a situation where he can declare marshal law on the country. All I can say is don't anyone be stupid and give him the reason. He thinks he can drive the American people to their breaking point by closing down our parks and National Land Marks. I got news for him. I have the patience of a saint when it comes to stuff like this because I know that every dog has his day and the American peoples day is coming in November 2014. We just need to make sure the Conservative party keep a very close eye on the ballot boxes and who programs them. Anyone with 1 brain cell functioning knows that the ballot boxes were rigged last election. Two things happened that proved it. 1) no President in American history has ever won an election by more then 5 million votes.        2) No Presidential candidate in American history has had an entire state vote and that person not receive 1 vote in the entire state.   There were a lot of people asking what happened to their votes when the ballot boxes where counted and Romney did not get 1 vote in North Carolina and people said they voted for him and wanted to know where their votes went. They never got an answer...........Makes ya kinda wonder huh?

  39. I know this may be a little off the mark but definitely falls political correctness. About 6 years ago I was driving past the Lowes here in Gallatin around Christmas time. They had about 100 live trees out front with a big banner that said "HOLIDAY TREES FOR SALE". I decided to go in and stir some stuff so I looked inside and the artificial trees where also labeled Holiday Trees. I asked a guy where I could get a Christmas tree and he pointed at the Artificial trees and said right there and we have live ones out side. I politely told him I wanted a Christmas tree and not a holiday tree. I then ask to see the manager and I took him down that same road. I final made him so mad he shouted at me that Lowes does not sell Christmas Trees and walked away. There was couple looking at the artificial trees and when he said that they walked out  just in front of me. Out side the guy looked at me and thanked me and I said for what and he said for saying what I wanted to say but wife would not let me. Well, you know the old kick the horse after it's dead deal,  right?  On New Years eve I went to Lowes and asked to buy a holiday tree and the guy said what for Christmas is over and I said I didn't want a Christmas Tree, I wanted one of those Holiday Trees they had on sale about 10 days ago. The guy knew where I was going and he called management to the front of the store. Yep same guy.......lol. He took one look at me and asked the clerk what I wanted and he told him and he just turned around and walked away. I went to Lowes on New Years, Presidents day, MLK Birthday, Easter, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Arbor day, Veterans day and the best part is I had friends on all sides of Nashville doing the same thing. Finally I had to go to Lowes and actually buy something else and the manager walked up and handed me a letter from the Corporate Office telling him that from now on Lowes will sell Christmas Trees and not Holiday Trees. That year and every year since all the banners at all the Lowes around Nashville sold Christmas Trees. I don't know if it went across the country r not but we sure got it changed here. I know it was probably a small victory but I was happy that I had won an argument pertaining to political correctness.........

  47. Interesting to me as more governments join and/or ratify this treaty- knowing that the government-to-government back-door arms trades have always been "outside the law",  this law can only serve to widen the power-gap between governments and the citizens those governments should be serving.   Ominous.   Let me also say, that I am absolutely for.. for... for compassion - for life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness for all members of the human race.  It breaks my heart to see people in pain from violence - no matter who they are or where they are.  I want kids, women, and men to be safe in all countries, BUT... effectual stability, safety, and security (and root morality) will always be a local cultural issue - it has never been governmental and will never be.  Governments (the systems, not the individuals) are designed to rule... and if left unchecked, the system will work to bring every experience under that rule.     Intersting about the United Nations... it generally lacks oomph to effectively adjudicate and regulate government entities that offend, so it has resorted to encouraging governments (many of whom are not egregious offenders) to regulate their own citizens.     I don't buy into sinister conspiricy theories; I simply think the systems are functioning as they were designed - what are missing are effective checks and balances.   The world  - through increased population and technology is increasing in complexity.  (IT & programmers, check me on this) Whenever you increase the complexity of a system, you have to increase the structure (rules) to maintain stability and functionality.   Not to over-bibliocize this - but in wisdom literature, you can look to the Christian Scriptures:  Israel asked for a King - their God said, "You don't know what you are asking; trust me when I say, you don't want a King."  Israel essentially demanded, "Yes, give us a King!!"  - Israel got their kings and -through good and bad kings, Israel paid the price for giving their collective representation over to a King.      In societies' desire for safety and security, masses of people are asking for a King - more rule of law - to keep them safe.  Many of us are responding... "You don't know what you are asking; trust me when I say, you do not want a King."    Orwell much anyone?
