Yes, worked again tonight. And no, Manchester Wal-mart didn't get any .22 LR tonight(was supposed to but no, we didn't get any). Had a few people come in and it was the .22 they were after. But later as I was running the freight to the floor another guy needed help, he was looking for .22 for his daughter to go hunting with. Now it is one thing to keep an adult from shooting, but these gougers and hoarders are gonna have to draw the line at this. When you keep a kid from getting to go hunting or target shooting with .22 it makes me kinda sad. See i never got into hunting when I was a kid, only shot a .22 at Boy scout camp before i got into guns. BB and pellet guns since i grew up in the city limits.   Long story short... He needed ammo, we didn't have any but I offered to give him some so his kid could go shoot( 11 year old daughter). Gave him my number and I hope i can help him.   I don't usually do this but he seemed genuine.

  I suspect a lot of people are looking at it this way too.  I know I am.  Bud was an icon in the industry but I think it's time the team had an oil-change at the executive level.

Good thing it wasn't a hate crime.... Lock the doors and stay in the car. The gas pedal is your friend.

Well, R.I.P. Mr. Adams.  You bought the old Houston Oilers in 1959 and got the first couple of AFL championships.  But then there was that long dry spell through the '60s waiting for big Super win, pumping Obamanian sums of money into a team that was always the bridesmaid and never the bride.  I was with you during the "Luv Ya, Blue" seasons when it looked like Bum Phillips and Dan Pastorini were finally going to take the Oilers all the way to the altar.  Alas,  it was not to be.  And after that horrible NFL title loss to Buffalo in 1993, when the Bills overcame a 32-point deficit to win  41–38 in the biggest comeback in NFL history, I certainly couldn't blame you for looking to the green hills of Tennessee for some fan comfort.  The Oilers had broken my heart too many times for me to protest.   You had to change the name and the colors to finally get into that Bowl against the Rams.  But dang,  who was the idiot who made the field 100 yards long, when 99 should be good enough?  But thanks again for the ride, Bud....you'll always be a Titan in my book.

Since we will soon have a fairly large number of members in the process of building ARs, I thought it may be a good idea to start a thread where everyone can post any good deals on components. While we are about to stimulate the economy, maybe we can save a few bucks here and there.

I often practice trigger drills with my rifles. I like to be as familiar with all of my guns as humanly possible before I take them out hunting. Well, today was the turn of the trusty old '94 I unloaded it this morning (It's the ONLY rifle I keep loaded up, due to our coyote problem) & put it back in the safe. I know I unloaded it because I was there when I did it. So, when I grabbed it just now to practice, I KNEW it was unloaded........ Growing up, I never really was around guns much, other than my little BB gun. When I was about 16, I was visiting a friend who owned a .22 rifle and he was showing it to me. I asked if it was loaded and he said "No way". I picked it up and aimed it at the neighbors house, cars driving down the street, probably even swept my friend with it. Thank God I had the sense (luck) to point it at the ground before I pulled the trigger. Of course it went bang. I shout a hole right into his bedroom floor. His mom came running in totally freaked out. My friend was pissed at me for pulling the trigger, I was pissed at him for telling me it was not loaded.   To this day I still think about that incident. It didn't strike me as much then as it does now that I actually own guns. And now, it really freaks me out that I could have pulled the trigger while pointing it at someone. I tell that story to anyone I take shooting for the first time before we even take the guns out of the case. I don't care if its a cap gun, it's loaded and does not get pointed at anything I don't want to kill or destroy.

What's up guy's?   Chickens, they're wonderful and let me tell you why. I'm a newbie with chickens and this is the fourth year of my chicken experience. Everything has gone great and in addition to delicious free eggs, I did something different this spring / summer / fall, I let them out of their coop / run and let them free range during the day. I did that because they're getting old and their production has dropped by 60% and thought I'd let them enjoy a little freedom.   I didn't know how many I would lose to predators like hawks letting them out during the day. Sort of funny because I've noticed hawks very interested and flying over head and landing in near by trees scoping them out but, one has never attacked? I was also concerned about if they would return to their coop when it got dark. No problem there, like clock work, just close the chicken run and done at dusk!   For some reason they will gravitate toward and around the house first and work their way outward, scratching and pecking away at anything. The leaves that gather at those annoying places that always need raking are taken care of by the scratching of the chickens, but I digress somewhat, as I just thought of it today.   In a normal year, we have at least a few outside bugs per week make their way into our home and the wife gets all skittish and bent out of shape. "Dennis" do something! Some of them are the critters that have lots of legs and some look like some sort of roach. No one wants bugs in their homes!   In a normal spring / summer I pick off ticks left and right around here from my yard, but not this year. I only recall picking off "one" tick all this year!   The incredible editable egg is more than that.    

Been there, done that.   Mine was a Beretta 85 that I thought could be carried cocked and locked. It's misleading because with the hammer back the safety will actually move towards the "safe" position however it's not actually engaged.    Those that say .380 won't penetrate are full of sh*t.

It won't matter whether the shooting was gang related. I doubt that it was. In the national media and in the minds of anti-gun citizens, this is another tragic school shooting and you all will have to be disarmed because of it.

Talk about a dumb ass. We had a guy who made some "body armor" out of cardboard when I was overseas. He said he did it because he got tired of carrying all that weight around. After finding this out we promptly fired him and sent him home.

A few of us have done this.  It is a lesson that when you learn it the hard way, you usually don't make that mistake again.

    The only bobcat I've ever seen in the wild was chowing down on road kill on the side of I-26 late at night in Unicoi County.    As for aging them?  Can't really do it visually once they're full size.  I think teeth are the best measure but if you get that close a live one, you've probably got bigger concerns.  :)

Sometimes you lose a job for doing what's right and good. That's how it goes. I wanted to help a little boy get some .22lr the other day. But since I was across town with none with me I really couldn't. His grandma was looking for some and of course they were bare. However they had some longs and i asked him what kind of rifle he had and it was a Browning BL22. I commended him on having a great rifle that carries the name of the greatest firearm inventor of all times and told them that they can shoot longs in it just fine. They were match grade longs so i told him he needs to make em count. He had to be bout 8 I'd say. I wished so much that I had a brick in my truck.

Sounds like a practice you don't want to add more possibility of human error to, and drinking certainly leaves things open for increased possibility of error. Of course, having a few beers doesn't mean squat, in my opinion. I usually have a beer every day with lunch, sometimes two. If you can't handle a couple of drinks without concern for losing judgement then you probably shouldn't, but if you're like me I don't see the problem. I think folks get too wrapped around the axle when it comes to drinking and doing anything. Some folks believe that the second you have a sip of beer you no longer have control of your faculties. I think this comes from a combination of sources, as folks either project the perception that all people who drink can't control themselves or a person can't control themselves when they drink and therefore feel as if no one else can. I'm a big boy and I know how much I can handle before I am no longer in control. Sometimes I like to get to that level, but I know it before I get there. Otherwise, I know where my level is at, so I also know how not to get there.

If I could choose ANY weapon to use against zombies.......it be my own personal Force Recon unit. I love my rifle and all, but I'd rest a lot easier if I had a dozen or so these guys.

Personally, I think the whole "don't pull your weapon unless you're prepared to shoot" talk is more for those who may not have the guts to pop a cap in someone's ass. I don't think this is a one-size-fits-all answer.   So much of your decision making is going to be situational. There have been many situations that were deescalated simply because someone pulled a weapon. Will the outcome be the same every time? No. But you must be as prepared as possible for any number of possible scenarios. Each is likely going to require s different set actions and reactions. You probably won't really know what those actions and reactions are until you find yourself in one of those situations.

I'd say you are right. It's easy to say what we'd have done sitting behind the screen of our computer but my Toyota FJ would have rolled over a head or two before I got out. Never abandon armor unless they can defeat it.

I will say that the Whisper load data has more options and works for a 300 Blackout but may not cycle all AR's. The Whisper data works with my AR but it will cycle with a lot more powders than most Blackout AR's too.   The load data provided by Sierra for the Blackout was tested in an AR. There's any number of old saws about good judgment coming from experience and experience coming from bad judgment or how "experience" is what you get when you don't get what you wanted... and you probably don't much care to be reminded of them right now. Can't say as I blame you. And please, please forgive me for chuckling right now, but there's a hole in a window about 30 feet from where I sit typing this. My wife put it there with my little Winchester lever action .22 a couple of years ago about 10 minutes after her 30 minute "safety lesson" concerning the safe operation and handling of the aforementioned rifle. She thought she was an asshat, too, although I don't think that's the word she used...   Long and short of it, I don't think she was an asshat and I don't think you're one either. The fact that I'm pretty sure that neither of you will ever do it again enforces that opinion. Life happens, sometimes it's a little embarrassing. You learn from it and move on and eventually laugh about it... unless you choose to sulk and play the blame game and beat yourself up to the point of giving up something near and dear to you - in that case you really are an asshat. (I still really doubt that's the case!)   Oh, and ''Mrs. Timestepper'' says, "Welcome to the club!" ;)

    I think your going about it the right way. Not much worse than spending a bunch of money and realizing that your caliber or configuration isn't what you really wanted.          'm not real good at it but hey, I gotta at least start that way or I may explode before it's all said and done!
