Screw him and his family. If he wasn't a useless pile of ghetto ćrap, he wouldn't have got shot. If the family would have raised him to be something better than a steaming pile of ghetto ćrap, he wouldn't have got shot. "Ohh he was a good kid!" ....waawaawaa, piss on him and good enough for him.7 points

I met a young lady the other day while traveling. Shortly after we started talking and she told me she was in Nashville because she tried to kill herself half a dozen or so times. While I looked at her in disbelief she then told me she had been abused in many different ways by multiple family members. I'm sure I had a priceless look on my face when she told me I hadn't blinked in a few minutes. She had a very outgoing(obviously), beautiful personality and had a new, wonderful outlook on life. I really didn't know what to say except I was really glad she hadn't been successful in killing herself and that the privilege was all mine in getting to meet her. She said she had been in therapy multiple times but it wasn't until she came to Nashville to a faith based therapy that found her own healing through Christ. It is a small reminder to me that I have such wonderful family and friends. I can't begin to imagine not having the safety and comfort of my father and mother as a child and through my young adult life. I decided to give to her personally through the home and to give to the home where she stays this year. I have a lot to be thankful for and she really made a difference in my life. Tw4 points

Tonight is the first night of Chanukkah, the celebration of the Hebrew Maccabees victory over the greeks and the return of the jews to the temple in jerusalem. This is also the only time that chanukkah will coincide with Thanksgiving for another 750000 years!! Both holidays about freedom of religion - how wonderful to see them happen at the same time!3 points

I took my new Marlin 444 out for a little stroll today. It got its first blood. This little doe crossed the field at 133 yards, and I introduced her to the hot rod 444.3 points

Wife just informed me that she snagged some pictures of me and the boy when we got back to the cabin. (yeah yeah, the wife went along, shaddup..lol). Anyway, if anyone is squeamish or letting someone that is look over your shoulder, be warned. Figured I would post that I'm doing my part passing along tradition. He got really tested today when we butchered them here on the carport when we couldn't hold the knifes anymore. Freaking cold!3 points

http://www.ralphbristol.com/player.asp?id=472 He wants to build a self supporting ammunition plant in Tn. The link above has an audio clip of his interview with talk radio host Ralph Bristol. This would be VERY awesome. Bring jobs and revenue as well as taking care of our needs in a worse case scenario. Man'o'man! How nice would it be to have brass, powder and primers made right here?2 points

Much to be thankfull here and I am reminded of this every day. I'd like to share a story with you all that involved me this afternoon. I work in east Nashville. Not the "cool part" of town with all the hipsters either. Today one of our local homeless came into my shop. Sort of. He made it to the door and could go no further. Seeing him in our doorway, hunched over and clutching himself, I knew something was wrong. As I approached, asking repeatedly if he was ok or if he needed help, he said "I think I'm having a heart attack!" Now I'd like mention I know this man. He's a local homeless who I have removed repeatedly from our store. Honestly he is an aggressive pan handler and kind of an all around ass. Had he said about anything else, its likely I would have told him to tell his story walking. My father has lived and suffered with numerous cardial issues for over a decade. There were a few times over the past years when I was living in CA that I wondered if I would ever see him again. As I got closer to the homeless man, he collapsed quite literally in my arms. Guiding him gently to the floor, I instructed one of my employees to call 911. After making sure he was breathing I also dialed our local low cost/no cost clinic as they are across the street. One of their doctors and two nurses were at my door giving care before we were even through to a 911 operator. The nurse was familiar with the man and started talking to him by name as the doctor did whatever it is doctor do, and the man responded by answering all questions the same way "I want to die, god let me die". The nurse told him that he wasn't going to die today, god had other plans for him. Upon hearing that I piped in "that's right, if god wanted you dead today he would have left you out in the fucking alley, but he brought you here to me instead". I'd like to point out that I am not a very religious or spiritual man, I would say that I'm a non-believer except I accept my own ignorance to the matter and choose instead to just wait and see. I don't know why I said what I said, I couldn't help it, it just came out. The ambulance arrived and got him loaded up. Before they left they asked me if I could throw away the empty bottle of Popov, or whatever cheap vodka it was. Oddly enough it was a mirror twin to the empty bottle I found in the parking lot this morning. I've spent the rest of the day wondering if he really did have a heart attack, or just drunk and cold. I'm guessing the former, this guy has ZERO problem getting arrested to get fed and warm. I am thankfull this year. For far too many things to even think about listing. I would like to thank though the Red Cross tonight. My first aid training completely "took over" once I heard the words "heart attack" and saw him start to go down. I did not have to administer first aid, however I wonder if I would have handled things as well without walking through the pre and post care steps in class. Thank you Red Cross. Everyone stay safe tonight. Hug your family's a little tighter, and to quote my favorite Tesla tune "Thank you lord for thinking about me, I'm alive and doing fine"2 points

I can't believe they snubbed Richard Simmons! He seems like a poster child for liberals. Maybe they would have more in common with Eddie Murphy's old SNL character, Little Richard Simmons, http://screen.yahoo.com/little-richards-simmons-show-000000345.html.2 points

I have to agree with everything that has been said. I agree with Robert whole heartedly (must be contagious) and he speaks wisely when he says we "all have something to be thankful for". I'm going through tough times right now and sometimes I feel pretty down about things. Just today, I went to Kroger to get some coffee creamer and held the door for a Soldier in a wheel chair and he had no legs. It made me thank about how bad some of my days goes and it isn't crap compared to this Soldier's day. I think back on my military career (Vietnam Era) and feel blessed that I'm able to get up and walk (although very painful at times). So in my own mind, I need to realize that everytime DaveS has a hard time with something, or feels that I'm at the end of my rope, there is always someone worse off than I, and I should be thankful for what I do have. I might just go volunteer at the "Manna Café" tomorrow and help feed the homeless. I guess that's the least I can do. Happy Thanksgiving Dave2 points

I'm glad we can agree on something, Dave :) Let me say, though, that I don't really have an opinion of "HIM"; I don't know and don't really care if he is a wonderful person of a low-life SOB...to me, that has nothing to do with whether someone is or isn't guilty of a crime they've been accused of.2 points

I checked out the new Ashland City Armory today, just opened last Saturday. Still a lot of construction activity on the building and more inventory arriving daily according to the staff. Plans include an indoor archery range, a 25 yd. pistol and rifle range (up to 30 caliber rifles) and a Megitt Training System F.A.T.S. 7 simulator that they expect to have ready by mid to late February. They also plan to offer training and permit classes after the range is completed and certified.1 point

He's fruitier than a fruit cocktail in a jam factory, but I have to admire his seemingly indomitable spirit. He's a person who is always trying to encourage others, ignores the criticism, and tries to find the good in everything and everyone. We could all stand to be a little more like him in that regard....but without the sparkly short shorts.1 point

Wish I had someone close who was sick of their Shield. The only one I shot impressed me. After Sandy Hook I unloaded all my excess firearm freight at pre Sandy Hook prices just because. I kept 3 Glock 9mms, all 3rd Gen: 26, 19, 17, also kept my venerable Keltec 32. The Sigs, revolvers, long slide Glocks, 1911s all gone, squeezing the practical essence out of my little accumulation. As a S&W M&P Armorer I would love to see a troublesome Shield just to fiddle with it. If you are in the Clarksville area and you have had trouble with your Shield contact me via pm. I would like to examine your pistol for the fun of it. As a note: If you are having trouble with a 3d Gen Glock you probably should forego handguns and get a human body guard who carries a Glock.1 point

Took my youngest Sat/Sun and we went with the express purpose of stocking the freezer first this year rather than wait till December to hope to see a doe. Worked out okay. We each got a doe within 2 minutes. Does are stupid. The second one came to see what just happened after I dropped the first and my son got that one. Butchered today minus one backstrap that we ate Saturday evening. Back out Friday morning.1 point

I think all of us, and I really do mean ALL of us have much to be thankful for; even if we are going though difficult times...even if things seem impossible. This has been a hard year for me and one I'm very glad to see coming to a close yet I am blessed and I know that I am. We live in what is still the greatest country the world has ever known; it may still yet return to its full greatness and potential but even if it doesn't there is no place I would rather live (and I've been in many, many countries over the years)...I have good friends...friends I can truly count on and as Clarance wrote George Baily on the inside cover of the Mark Twain book that showed up in the money basket; "No man is a failure who has friends". I'm spending Thanksgiving with some of those friends in Knoxville this year...the last time I haven't been "home" with family on Thanksgiving was 1980; that year I was stationed at Bangor Submarine Base (Washington) and my wife and I decided not to make the trip back to Ohio that year. Other than that and a couple of overseas deployments during the late 70's I've always been home for Thanksgiving. This year, my Mom is gone now (my dad passed i 2001) so this Thanksgiving is "different". I hope every fellow TGO member has a great Thanksgiving. .1 point

The first "plastic"; pistol i ever owned wuz a 357sig (...Glock 33...)... An old gun tradin buddy of mine (...an avowed "N" frame smith guy...) said i needed to try one... This ole boy is a finished pistolero and regularly shoots most everything; so i knew he knew what he wuz talkin about... I knew that if he liked the little gun, it had plenty of potential....At the time, i was lookin for a small carry pistol that didnt cost an arm and a leg ALA the little 1911's... I'm an old time reloader and i rounded up the stuff and loaded up some brass and some 125 grain sig bullets.... I used the tried and true recipe for them and loaded 13.0 to 13.5 grains of AA#9... These rounds will do an honest 1250 to 1275 fps (...my actual chronograph data...) out of the short barreled glock (....3.42 inches...)..., and it shoots straight as an arrow... It is, in fact, the best 9 mm type pistol i have ever owned... I've got the compact glock in 357 sig as well... Same thing... Utterly reliable, plenty of power, very accurate... Does it kick; yeah a bit, but it is easily controllable by a reasonably experienced shooter... Muzzle blast; yeah... no more than a 357 mag... I am a confirmed 357 sig affectionado.... The 357 sig is, in fact, what was claimed for the 9 mm when the political class lied about the performance of the 9 mm in order to sell new pistols to the military in the eighties... Don't buy into the idea that a 9mm luger is anywhere as powerful as a 357 sig in the same length barrel... The sig case is bigger and holds more powder than the 9 mm...Ya can argue about the 9 mm plus plus; but i contend that aint a real 9 mm; its an breed of it's own... If ya reload, i heartily recommend the sig in any size pistol ya like...I carry the glock 33 and a glock 27 (...40 s & w; same size as the 33...) pretty regularly... I liked the little sig so well in the glock type pistol; that from that one little pistol in 357 sig; there have sprung 3 more; includin a full size 10 mm... I like 'em... Hope this helps a bit... leroy1 point

If you want to sound technical we call it "Critical Care Transport" (The current slang is "MedEvac") "air ambulance" is an old term we would use to file FAA flight plans to get priority over air traffic, now its medevac1 point

What I’m talking about won’t be a CD; it’s a drive image that is created at the factory. You access it by a combination of keystrokes on startup. Dell has been using them for years, I don’t know if your HP has it or not, but it’s worth checking out. Keep in mind though that it’s not a program that deletes only what you have put on it; it actually formats and reimages the drive. It takes you back to the way the computer shipped. Anything you don’t have on a backup drive would be gone. The only thing you would have to reload is programs you want installed and all the windows updates. But it’s a lot easier and faster than formatting the drive and reloading the operating system and all the drivers.1 point

My defense of Z during the Trayvon mess wasn't personal. I figured he was an idiot from the beginning. If he's guilty this time, let him fry. It helps that Obama hasn't declared him guilty this time. Speaking of prison... That's where I would like to see Barry too. In a cell with a big old hairy, thick knuckled redneck that's as gay as Little Richard.1 point

In all honesty I don't think the American people actually voted him into office as much as I think the 1st and second elections were totally rigged but will never be able to prove it because any where you go to search anything about the guy you are blocked in every way and you cannot learn any true facts about him. When you have votes for an American President being counted off shore in Spain by a company that is owned by Obama's main money backer George Soros how can anyone believe that the elections were not totally rigged and were actually fair and unbiased?????1 point

Do away with the requirement of background checks for HCP holders to buy a gun. We've already been thru that once. No need to do it again. Yeah, I know, the State wants the $10. Still a double tax. I'll agree with another post, we shouldn't need a permit at all.1 point
