  1. I sat and watched him for well over an hour at about 120 yards and was going to give him a pass with the rifle, but he stupidly started following a doe and came within pistol range of about 45 yards. One shot with the Ruger GP100 357, and about 30 yards later, the chase was over. 3. The GOP is all about maintaining their good ole boy system. They know who they can count on to take bribes - AKA pork barrel projects - in order to do their bidding and they are not about to give up a known quantity for someone who is campaigning on the principle of bucking the system. Time and again we see them get behind the RINOs like the ones we have here in favor of truly conservative/constitutionally-minded candidates for this exact reason. Sorry boys, but the Dems and the GOP have become two sides of the very same coin. The only difference between the parties now is whether they give it to you missionary or in some other, more freaky position.

  4. If you ordered a TGO Lower and asked for it to be sent to D&T Arms.... It is here. We have the names of everyone that got them sent to us on the boxes, but no phone numbers were put on the invoice. Hence this is the only way for me to let you know that they are here. I just got done checking them all in (90 of them), so you can start coming in and picking them up.   See you soon!!

  5. I am going to take a break this weekend.  Watch the SEC championship, get some things done around the house, be with the wife.  I have gotten 4 this year so far passed on several others.  I think at this point I will just help a few of my buddies get a deer or maybe hunt for one myself, but shooting them with my bow or a pistol.  It looks like we will meet our harvest objective this year so at this point, I can be more selective.

  9. What do you expect from dirty tree huggin hippies. Beatles greatest band ever? *vomit* not even close. Shoulda called themselves the dung beatles. Yoko is just another iteration of free lovin dirty tree huggin hippy filth. No surprise to their demise. I'll never understand why anyone other than some liberal democrat would put John Lennon on a pedestal of greatness. For Chuck to be playing with Lennon seems pretty low to me. He could fart a more talented tune than the likes of John. Just my opinion that no one else shares I suppose.

  10. Did some horse trading today. This is a gun Ive been after for a long time. Not this exact one, but this style. Ive always loved the m14, and now I have one. Its a Federal ordinance, with a forged receviver, chrone lined barrel, USGI op rod and bolt installed, and has been glass bedded. It has a beautiful laminate stock, and I love it. I traded the CETME I got last week, even trade and he threw in 12 USGI mags with it. Now to add a good mount and optic and spend some quality range time with her. Tapatalk ate my spelling.

It may not look fancy but I like it and learned on my own little by little every year . 12.   There's a TGO logo next to TGO. Way freakin snazzy IMO.   They did offer me a build kit. Having recently got one from PSA I didn't think to ask how much they were. Don't forget to buy some stuff from D&T when you pick up your lowers if you can. At the TGO transfer rate and all the time it takes to book them in/out/NICS they have to be about losing money on the deal. Grab a few mags if you can, you may spend a few bucks more than you would online, but the benefit of having a good store like D&T around far outweighs those few bucks. IMO.

  13. Personally I think this was a genius move on the part of Daniel Defense. They had to know that this commercial would never get approved. Look at the production values of the commercial, you don't spend 10 million to put that on the air. Now they get to sit back and enjoy all the free advertising as the spot goes viral.

  18. Saw a woman I assume was texting and driving end up with a bloody nose over the weekend. :) Her brand new cadillac apparently magically stopped for her to avoid a near collision with a dodge ram whose rear end she was following too close, and not being buckled or paying much attention she ended up slamming her face into the steering wheel when the car stopped abruptly from around 30 mph.   While I'm a big car guy and as such generally hate most driver aids this may very well teach some of these idiots(at least the ones who can afford new luxury cars) to pay attention while driving. :woohoo:

  20. PSA is running a daily deal on 16" uppers with 12" free float rail, any opinions on these and or the price?   I've sort of been wanting a mid length gas system gun on a 16" bbl, but was leaning more toward a HBAR weight bbl. This one I guess pretty much does the same thing just has the M4 Style bbl and a carbine length gas system under the rail. I've got BCG and charging handles laying around so that not a big issue.   http://palmettostatearmory.com/index.php/m4-ss12g2-16-cmv-chrome-lined-stripped-railed-upper-without-bcg-or-charging-handle.html?utm_source=Copy+of+Days+of+Christmas+Deals+Start+NOW&utm_campaign=Constant+Contact&utm_medium=email   I've never had a forend like this one, it is smooth with only a rail on the top. I've got a 20" AR with the 4 rail forend and even with covers I still don't like the feel.

  21. Well, I finally got to go to the range with the 380's and try out some new Fiocchi Ammo I bought last year and never had a chance to make it to the range. Glad I went. Ended up getting Sam to do some work on a Bersa with a trigger issue and the Llama failing to remain open after last round was out of magazine. Took Sam about 30 minutes to have them both sending rounds down range. This is at 25 feet. I am not totally satisfied with it but I think I could hit my target in my defense at that range anyway. Need to practice a little more often. Totally love the ammo and it does have a little more push and no FTF's and after Sam was done with them guns, no jams and were flawless after that. Went threw 100 rounds and very satisfied with it's performance....... I don't watch the NFL, but it doesn't surprise me.  Like most other large entities, they are incredibly PC.  We can't have a common sense commercial promoting traditional American values, but if it was some transgender minority who was farting Ave Maria while drinking Bud Light and eating a bag of Doritos, then that would be totally acceptable.

  35. I don't know about you folks but I tried to really like to carry a  snubby.  I like revolvers and can pretty much do anything to the innards to make them run a bit better.  I took a combat snubbie class one time a couple of years ago and found out that if I shoot all my rounds I simply cannot reload fast enough regardless of the system, especially under stress.  I am not Jerry Miculek.  Not that I would need more than 5 but that would be a nice option.  I suppose I could carry 5 or six snubbies, aka Josey Wales, but that ain't likely.  I think a hammerless airweight .38 in a jacket pocket to run to the store is a good thing, but then so is an LCP or Keltec .380 or even a .32.  For different geography I simply use Glock.  In snubbies I think I have owned 2 LCRs, 3 Airweight .38s, a ported titanium .357 snubbie, 2 model 60s, a couple of Taurus 85s, 2 SP101s, and a couple of those Taurus 9mm 905s.  In my mind a snubbie with moon clips is the way to go but the 905's clips are too flimsy for carry reliability.     One last thing, the way the Ruger LCR, SP101, S&W and Taurus cycle and fire are all different in rhythm in pace. In that respect I like in this order: S&W, Taurus, SP101, LCR.  I think the SP101 is the most durable and easy to work on.  It is the heaviest by far.   I don't like the machining on newer Taurus's and think the hammerless Airweights are the most practical.   Remember what God and Ed McGivern(author of the 1938 epic book "Fast and Fancy Revolver Shooting") have decreed: "Double action revolvers should be shot double action." "Pulling the hammer back takes time, and stumbling around in the dark with the hammer back on a DA revolver is a fool's errand." Graycrait '13.  I've found that DA revolvers can be shot very accurately in DA if the trigger is smooth for those who like to shoot groups on paper.

  36. This weekend was the first time I've been able to get out this year.  Between work and being 150+ miles from my good hunting spots I've been a little late.  Picked up a box of Remmington Scirocco 130g .270 because that was the only box Walmart had when I went shopping Thursday morning and I wasn't in the mood to shop around, more on that later.  Hit the woods Saturday morning and had 3 does before 7:30, Sunday I took a new hunter out and let her use my rifle, I didn't even carry one, she got her first 2 deer before 8:00 in the same spot, so it was a very productive weekend.    More on ammo, I knew that I was about to the end of my supply of my Winchester Silvertips, which are my favorite bullet so I wanted to pick up some more before I headed out of town.  Figured I'd give the Sciroccos a shot since that was my only choice.  If you are a trophy hunter by all means this is probably a great bullet for you.  My complaint is that it tears up meat bad!  On one of the does I took, I took a shot with the deer quartering slightly towards me.  I hit just behind the shoulder and the bullet about ruined an entire rear quarter.  On another deer the shot was in the same place quartering away and I took out the opposite side shoulder, same on the third.  My hunting buddy, using the same gun shot a little high on both of her deer and got them in the spine, ruining all tenderloins and most of the backstrap on both deer.  Of the 5 deer 3 flopped and the other 2 ran less than 20 yards.  I'm thinking I'm going to stick the remainder of this box in my inventory and pick up some more Silvertips, I'm in it for the meat!  The Silvertips or any other round that I have used have not torn up meat nearly this bad, most of the time none is even wasted.   I was gifted a Savage .223 bolt action Sunday morning, I'm anxious to get it sighted in and I'm going to try to take a deer with it this season.

Play stupid games, win stupid prizes?  I'm having a hard time finding it within myself to mourn for another celebrity who essentially committed suicide.  Besides, this guy and the movies he's made are largely responsible for glamorizing the "street racing" culture and helping it explode exponentially.  No pun intended.    It's kind of a good thing that the hot-rod Honda crowd gets to witness the mortality of one of their heroes.  Maybe it'll smack some sense into them and they'll put less of us at risk on the streets as a result.

  48. Colt had a bit of a problem with the 10mm cracking frames.  It was always at the same spot though, right above the slide stop on the left side of the gun.  They started on later guns to just mill that little bit of the frame rail away, fixed the problem perfectly.  Deltas are excellent guns.  Some 10mm magazines are pretty bad, I've had really good luck with Metalform 8 rounders and Chip McCormick 9 rounders.  Wilson is making 10mm magazines again as well, I'm sure they're GTG.
